My rear camera will go out while in reverse. Sometimes boxes appear on the screen or it will be completely black.
Car stopped driving correctly and the transmission now needs replaced
My car was parked in my driveway. I realized that I didn't have my key on me. So I quickly ran in the house to get my key. I went outside to find my car rolling down my driveway into my neighbor's brick house. My 11 year old was messing with the gear shift from the back seat and was able to change the gear to neutral with no brake engaged and no key in the ignition. When I went to the dealership, an employee was able to tell me that it was a bad shifter cable bushing. I checked to see if there is a recall and there was for our year, make, and model; unfortunately, our VIN is now registered under the recall.
Engine coolant leaking into cylinder 2. This is a known common issue on eco boost engines. Engine repair was quoted as replacement needed for 8000$. This is dangerous because the car will stop and potentially leave you stranded in the middle of the road with traffic. Additionally, this may result in fires due to water pump running dry and water being burned off in the cylinder which results in blue smoke on cold starts. Ford has been knowing of the engine defect and continued to place the engines in their cars as late as 2019.
The contact owned a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked at the contact's work parking lot, the vehicle caught on fire due to unknown reasons. A security guard discovered the fire, and called the Fire Department extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed. No police report was filed. The contact was at work during the incident, and it was not until he finished his shift that he discovered that his vehicle had caught on fire. The contact believed the fire started from the engine area, per witnesses. The vehicle was towed to a local towing yard. The contact notified his insurance company and deemed the vehicle totaled. The fire spread and damaged several vehicles parked nearby. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.
The back up/ rear camera failed on this vehicle. The sudden failure of this caused me to panic as I could no longer see directly behind my vehicle.
Vehicle has coolant leaking and temp getting hot just like the Ford coolant recall on my year, make and model of car, yet my VIN doesn't bring up a recall. Took to Ford dealership for a coolant sensor recall and told can't fix it the coolant issue is fixed and that it should be on the recall list. Bao I sit with no car.
My vehicle has a coolant intrusion from a known defective head gasket. The gasket has failed and there is coolant on the pistons. This is a known issue for Ford ecoboost engines from 2013-2018 and I request NHTSA's assistance with compelling Ford to remedy the problem.
The fire started in the engine, unsure of exact cause according to the fire report. My wife [XXX] ), I, and my one year old daughter’s safety was compromised bc there was no warning until a minute before us realizing fire and exited the vehicle. Car was investigated by local department. Break lights will not turn off after week of high heat and humidity.
My complaint does not concern an accident. It concerns the two incomplete recalls referenced above. I have been trying to schedule these repairs since, I believe, February and the Service Department at the local Ford dealership, Mac Haik Ford, 4242 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505, will not even respond to my requests to schedule the work. I have left detailed messages with the Haik contact representative (vehicle model and year, the Campaign/NHTSA numbers that I want to have done, my phone number, my email address, etc.) as requested by Haik's contact person and no one from the Service Department has ever responded, not even once. In order to give Ford and Haik a final chance before filing this complaint, I left TWO scheduling requests this week- one on Monday or Tuesday and one yesterday. The Service Department did not respond to either. However, in response to my repeated efforts to schedule this safety recall work, I have been spammed with car sales solicitation calls and emails back from the dealership beginning on March 1. (Perhaps earlier, but March 1 is the first undeleted email that is still on my computer.) These safety recall campaigns are not being administered, and processed as such by Ford Motor Company, at least not by its dealership in Pasadena, Texas. The Mac Haik dealership obviously has no interest in doing this recall work. I suppose they can make more money doing other work. In any event, Ford's recall notices are just used as sales prospect-generating tools. They are not actually accepting cars and doing the recall work.
I have driven my car a little over 600 miles after the first recall was done for the engine overheat and a sensor was replaced. They drove it 0 miles to test drive it after (it shows on my paperwork) since around 600 miles it has sat because now my engine is actually overheating. I had no idea that I could contact ford again about this until recently and I have the paperwork and mileage to match. But I am afraid they will say the recall was performed and be of no help. Clearly they didn’t care enough to test drive the car after the fix. So I cannot trust them to properly take care of this problem.
My passenger door came open while I was driving. I was not able to get it to close.

Not sure if related to recall - took vehicle in due service in December 2022 for service and recall. My Ford app indicates they did not take care of it. While driving from California to arizona on January 9, 2023 the engine lights came on: coolant hot, vehicle unsafe to drive, see manual. I couldn’t drive my vehicle. Broke down on the 10 interstate. Would not move. Would not go into reverse. It was towed to surprise Ford in surprise, arizona and I’m currently awaiting diagnostic testing. They said they will check if it’s related to recall. Towed from I-10 to home by AAA. Home to shop by sttae farm insurance. Thank you. The contact stated that after being inspected at the dealer, the damage to the vehicle was found to have no relation to the recall.
I purchased this 2013 in September 2022. My car is jerking while driving, when put into drive from reverse, it will say in reverse. It will shut down while idling from stop to go. I am afraid because, I almost caused an accident while driving the interstate.

Ford Dealership says that the car has swollen lug nuts Therefore they will not rotate the tires They are factory wheels and lug nuts Why has there not been a recall on all of these junk lug nuts?
My coolant has been disappearing at an exceptional rate in my 2013 Ford Fusion with a 1.6L Ecoboost engine. About once every week or so my "Coolant Level Running Low" message comes on and I have to add more coolant. This went on for several months, no dangerous problem, just buying coolant regularly and wondering where it's all going. No sign of coolant under my car. I was driving to work when the warning message "Engine Coolant Overtemperature" came on and my car stalled. Thankfully I was able to pull over safely. The coolant was low again and the engine overheated. I read other people with the same year, make, model, and engine also had the same issue - coolant vanishing causing the car to overheat and stall, some resulting in fire. I believe this is due to the coolant leaking into the hot exhaust system as safety recall 12S41 describes. Because my car was manufactured in 2013 and not 2012, my VIN is not listed to be recalled despite the same issue on my same make, model, and engine. The Ford dealership would not fix it as a recall. I'm grateful mine didn't result in a fire this time unlike some other unlucky folks in my same position.
when I pull out the gearbox it makes a medium loud noise in the transmission, I try to call because I received notifications, number and description of the 19S16 campaign but it turns out that the automated call does not recognize the numbering
The mechanism and cable to unlatch the hood corroded to the point that the hood to the car was unable to be opened. This could be a hazard in the event oil needed or antifreeze needed to be added to prevent engine damage. Or if the hood were to somehow become ajar, it could potentially cause the hood to open up while driving, creating a visual obstruction and increasing the risk for a motor vehicle crash.
Engine shut off while driving, and a "transmission not in park" message was displayed. Car was able to restart after several tries. Looking online I found a lot of people with the same issue, but no answered questions.
Our transmission thinks the car is always in drive. It won’t start, and shifts very roughly. There was a recall for this, but not sure why our specific vehicle wasn’t included.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the steering assembly replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
On 10/31/21 at approximately 7:30 pm my dashboard alerted me with a steering assist fault after making a turn on a rotary on Mystic valley Pkwy Somerville Ma 02144. After entering the rotary my vehicles steering wheel become stiff and hard to move and staring moving towards the left side close to the curbs. I was traveling at around 20mph. I was able to move the vehicle to a near by park that was located on the same street as the rotary (Dilboy stadium). After parking the vehicle, I shut it off and restarted it. After doing so, the alert disappeared and I was able to drive the vehicle normally. After leaving the park 5 minutes later the alert popped back again. I was driving in a straight line so the steering assist did not cause much of a problem, however I could feel the stiffness of the steering wheel. When I arrived to my destination, after performing a left turn my vehicle once again starting leaning towards the left side almost causing me to hit the curb. At around 9:00pm I had towed the vehicle to a Fords dealership. On Monday the 1st I was able to drive the vehicle with same steering wheel conditions to an independent dealership who performed a check and received a fault code of C200D:49 with the solution of replacing power steering rack with module which could only fixed at a Ford dealership due to the module. In the situation described above I was very fortunate that I was not driving at high speed in an area with high traffic, as an accident would’ve most likely occurred. I know that there is no recall on my specific vin however I am aware that other vins with the same year and model have recalls on them. I do not have any other alerts on the car. The fault I came across is a safety hazard not only to myself but other cars on the road. After digging around on the web the steering wheel fault is a common error that a lot of Ford owners come across and I believe that an investigation needs to be launched to protect the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
No warning light. Rpm’s surge high, low then engine shuts off while driving or idle. I could be in the middle of an intersection and my engine will shut itself off. Major safety issue and this car needs to be recalled. Happens even after taking it to the dealer “fixing” the “problem.” I’m not sure they even know the issue. They just try replacing things for a short term fix yet still having issues long term.
The car would stop after the warning of over heating so the car would just shut down go into what is called limp mode was told that is to protect the engine so we was told that in order for them to check we first had to purchase ford parts to get it started which we did but about 30days later same problem took it back they charged me another fee to put on the diagnostic machine which we did. That still didn't take care of the problem this went on from April 2021 well in May received a recall for the coolant system on this car make and model made appt took it in well they failed at fixing this with the car having to be left there weeks at a time it is still there they couldn't repair it they now are saying it is the engine do we want it repaired I don't no how when they can't even fix what it was there for now all of a sudden it's on me and the agent that called first said the transmission they have no clue they are just trying not to be responsible for this car even towing company knows where to take the car I have been put down all over town. This has been a nightmare I am afraid of the car and no trust with the people that's fixing the recall because they don't know how.
Transmission made noise and stopped running. Need replacement at a cost of $8,000.00.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER DOOR. IT WAS GETTING HARDER TO CLOSE WITH OUT SLAMMING IT. WELL ONE DAY IT FLEW OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TURNING ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE DOOR WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED WITHOUT ROPE FROM THEN ON. GOOD THING I DIDN'T HAVE MY 3 KIDS WITH ME AT THE TIME. THE FORCE BENT THE HINGES AS WELL AS DENTED THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCHES AND TO BRING IT BACK IN 5 DAYS. THIS IS AFTER I TOLD THEM I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH A ROPE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED. I BRING MY CAR IN 5 DAYS LATER AND GET A RENTAL THAT FORD WOULDN'T COVER. WELL 2 DAYS LATER I GET A CALL SAYING THEY WILL NOT FIX THE RECALLED DOOR LATCH AND TO COME PICK UP MY CAR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR OVER A MONTH NOW WITH MY DOOR ROPED SHUT BUT IT POPS OPEN STILL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I'M NOT FINANCIALLY STABLE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR THE COSTLY REPAIR. I'M AT SUCH A LOSS THAT FORD WILL NOT FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE DEALER SHIP EVEN CLEARED THE RECALL ON LINE AND IT NOW SAYS ALL LATCHES ARE FIXED PLEASE? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? PLEASE HELP!
THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY MODEL IN 2018 WHICH THEY SAY WAS FIXED. BUT IT IS CAUSING UN GOING ISSUES. NOW THE (CTV)? MODULE NEEDS REPLACING. BOTTOM LINE, CYLINDER HEAD SENSOR KEEPS SHOOTING A CODE THAT THE COOLANT IS TO LOW, WHILE IT IS NOT. YOU START THE CAR AND THE NEEDLE SHOOTS TO HOT. LEAKS HAVE BEEN FIXED BUT THE MODULE WAS A RECALL AND THEY VERBALLY NO LONGER GRANT IT FREELY FIXED, BECAUSE OF TIME OVERLAPS.
MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR A WIDE SPREAD FAULTY DOOR LATCH RECALL IN 2016 AND WAS REINSPECTED AGAIN THIS YEAR FOR THE ANOTHER DOOR LATCH RECALL. NOW MY PASSENGER FRONT DOOR LATCH IS FAULTY CAUSING MY DOOR TO NOT CLOSE AT ALL. THE CUTTER FORD DEALER ON OAHU IS TELLING ME EVEN THOUGH MY DOOR LATCH IS FAULTY, IT'S NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO BE REPLACED. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? AFTER HAVING MY DOOR LATCHES REPLACED FOUR YEARS AGO DUE TO A RECALL, THEY ARE NOW FAULTY AGAIN FOUR YEARS LATER. DOES ANOTHER RECALL NEED TO BE ISSUED TO REPLACE THE DOOR LATCHES USED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. WHILE DRIVING I SMELLED A FAINT WHIFF OF GASOLINE, MOMENTS LATER THE CAR BEGAN FILLING UP WITH SMOKE THAT SPILLED IN THROUGH THE HEATER VENTS. THERE WAS ALSO SMOKE THAT WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MY HUSBAND & I JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR TO RUN TO SAFETY AND I SAW FIRE UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. ONCE THE FIRE FIGHTERS ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WE WERE TOLD IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE.

RECALL 15S16 WAS PERFORMED ON APRIL 24, 2018 TO FIX A DOOR LATCH WHICH HAD NOT MALFUNCTIONED YET. LAST WEEK IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT AS I WAS DRIVING. PASSENGER DOOR OPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND WOULD NOT LATCH. HAD TO TIE IT SHUT WITH A ROPE. TOOK IT FOR REPAIR YESTERDAY AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS MORE THAN A YEAR SO THE LATCH PART WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS CHARGED $448 TO FIX THE ISSUE. I FEEL FORD SHOULD HAVE FIXED THIS FOR FREE SINCE IT WAS OBVIOUSLY FIXED WITH A FAULTY PART 2 YEARS AGO OR IT WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY HELP IN BEING REIMBURSED. I SEE ANOTHER RECALL HAPPENED THIS YEAR FOR THIS SAME THING BUT ONLY GOES BACK TO 2014 AND I HAVE A 2013.
THE ANTIFREEZE STARTED LEAKING....THEN IT ALL FLUSHED DOWN...I SEE THERE US A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM...MY CAR SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST....I ONLY NOTICED WHEN CAR WAS PARKED
FIRST TIME PROBLEM OCCURRED WAS IN A PARKING LOT. ABLE TO REVERSE. AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO DRIVE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WORKED. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN A PARKING LOT AND A SIMILAR SITUATION HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. NO WARNING LIGHTS CODES OR ANY WARNING BEFORE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF. WHEN VEHICLE SHUTS OFF ONLY REAL SIGN IS LOSS OF ACCELERATION
I WAS IN REVERSE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROADWAY WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE ANYMORE. THE GEAR SHIFT HAD DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS LUCKY THERE WAS A TOW TRUCK MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO RECONNECT IT AND MOVE MY CAR TO SAFETY. IT HAS DONE THIS A COUPLE MORE TIMES SINCE BUT IT IS NOW NO LONGER DRIVEABLE. IN REGARDS TO THE FUEL THE CAR MAKES A RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE GAS LINE, AND MAKES THE CAR FILL WITH THE SMELL OF FUEL. WHEN I PUT THE GAS NOZZLE INTO THE CAR A BUBBLE SOUND AND AIR PIERCES OUT.
WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY LUG NUTS BECAUSE OF SWELLING. MY TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN ROTATED BECAUSE FORD CLAIMS THEY CANNOT GET THE NUTS OFF. WAS TOLD TO GO BUY FROM PEP BOYS. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NUTS FOR MY VEHICLE. IF FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS DEFECT WHY AREN'T THEY DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. WHY DOES THE CONSUMER HAVE TO GO SEARCHING FOR REPLACEMENTS. MY CAR ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND IS UNSAFE. I WAS TOLD I COULD BUY NEW RIMS AND I WOULDN'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM ANYMORE. FORD SHOULD BE REPLACING THESE NUTS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. NOT LIKE IT'S OUR FAULT THIS HAS HAPPENED. HELP!
DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROMATELY 40MILES PER HOUR. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIT UP IN THE CONSOLE. PULLED OVER TO TRY TO CLOSE THE DOOR BUT THE LATCH HAD FAILED ENTIRELY. HAD TO SECURE DOOR WITH SEAT BELT AND DRIVE SLOWLY HOME WILL DROP IT OFF AT DEALERSHIP BECAUSE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT WAS CLOSED AT TIME OF INCIDENT.

3 OUT OF 4 OF THE DOORS LATCHES HAVE STOPPED WORKING WITHIN 1 YEAR SPAN. THE DOORS DO NOT CLOSE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY/PARKED. DOOR WAS OPENED TO ALLOW ENTRY AND THEN WOULD NOT CLOSE OR LOCK.

THIS MAY CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO NOT BE ABLE TO FULLY MOVE THE TRANSMISSION TO THE SELECTED GEAR POSITION. IF THE DRIVER ATTEMPTS TO SHIFT TO PARK IN THIS CONDITION, THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN PARK POSITION EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER POSITION INDICATES THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, AND THE "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" WARNING MAY NOT APPEAR. THIS COULD RESULT IN UNITENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR CRASH. I WAS TOLD TO BRING MY CAR (8/19/19 )BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT IN. NO ACCIDENT HAS OCCURED AS OF 8/19/19.
MY 2013 FUSION HAS A DOOR LATCH THAT IS BROKEN. ACCORDING TO RECALL 15S16 THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT, ACCORDING TO FORD, THIS IS NOT A COVERED VIN, YET MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN THE SAME FACTORY AS THE STATED RECALL (HERMOSILLO IN 2013), THEREFORE, SHOULD BE COVERED. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
MY CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY NOW MY CAR IS GIVING ME THE WARNING SIGNAL TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. THIS IS THE SAME WARNING I'M THE RECALL. I'VE BEEN TRY TO GET THE DEALER TO FIX IT SINCE I GOT THE LETTER 3 MONTHS AGO BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY CAN'T ORDER THE PART THEY ARE BUSY. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER DUE TO THIS RECALL NOT BEING FIXED. IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS AND FORD STILL HAS NOT FIXED THE RECALL AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING ON TO 175 IN COLUMBIA MD WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CAME UNLATCHED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WITH A PASSENGER SITTING ON THAT SIDE AND TWO PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT. THE DOOR DOES NOT STAY SHUT AND ONE PERSON HAD TO DRIVE IT BACK HOME ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE THE OTHER PERSON MANUALLY TRIED THEIR BEST TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT THE WHOLE TIME. PASSENGERS WERE UNINJURED AND GOT LUCKY THAT THERE WASN'T ANOTHER CAR IN THE LANE NEXT TO IT WHILE THIS HAPPENED. CALLED NORTH CENTRAL FORD DEALERSHIP IN RICHARDSON,TX AS WELL AS FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND NEITHER PARTIES ARE WILLING TO HELP UNLESS WE PAY FOR THE DOOR OUT OF POCKET AS THEY CLAIMED THIS SPECIFIC CAR WAS NOT PART OF ALL THE RECALLS THAT SIMILAR FUSION'S AND FOCUS'S HAVE BEEN HAVING. THIS FAMILY ALSO OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT SAME THING HAPPENED AND WAS PART OF THE RECALL AND DOOR WAS REPLACED BY FORD. FORD REFUSES TO UNDERSTAND AND COMPREHEND THE SEVERITY OF THIS LIFE THREATENING ISSUE AND HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS SO THAT THEY CAN SAVE MONEY. OUR LIVES WERE IN DANGER AND IT'S NOT A MATTER THAT NEEDS TO WAIT TILL MORE PEOPLE DIE FOR IT TO BE RECALLED. IT'S BEEN 4 DAYS AND FORD GAVE US A CASE NUMBER AND SAID THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE A CAR OR A SOLUTION AND THIS CAR IS STILL IN THE HOUSE GARAGE.

DEALER STATED THAT THE SAFETY RECALL FOR THE DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH WAS ALREADY PERFORMED ON VEHICLE IN 8/2017. THAT THEY "FORD" ONLY WARANTEES PARTS REPLACED BY A SAFETY RECALL FOR 1 YEAR OR 12,000 MILES, SO I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR AS IT IS NOW SIMPLY A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. WHEN I ORIGINALLY CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE GUYS ASKED ME IF I HAD ALREADY HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED. I TOLD HIM TO CHECK THE COMPUTER AND SEE, THAT I ONLY BRING MY VEHICLE TO THEM, WHILE HE WAS LOOKING HE MENTIONED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN STARTING TO SEE VEHICLES COMING IN AGAIN FOR THE SAME REPAIR EVEN AFTER THE RECALL. LATER HE DENIED EVER SAYING THAT ME. SO WHAT IS THERE TO STOP COMPANIES LIKE FORD FROM REPLACING A PART RECALLED FOR SAFETY REASONS, WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE PART AND THEN SIMPLY STATING THAT THE WARANTEE ON THE NEW PART IS ONLY 12 MONTHS. THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO ME, IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE SAFETY RECALL OR IS I GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS AND MY LIABILITY IS GONE? HOW AM I TO KNOW IF THE DEALER EVEN DID THE RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOT JUST MARKED IT COMPLETE? WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT THE EXACT PART THAT WAS DEFECTIVE AND RECALLED AND REPLACED WOULD FAIL AGAIN FOR THE EXACT SAME THING IT WAS RECALLED FOR TO BEGIN WITH? TRIED FORD NOT JUST DEALER AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE ON THE 12 MONTHS OR 12,000 MILES RESPONSE.
PASSENGER DOOR CAME OPEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WILL NOT LATCH. FORD WILL NOT TOW THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED, WILL NOT OFFER US A LOANER VEHICLE. I HAVE ROPE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED.

I REACH OVER AND PUSHED ON THE DOOR AND IT WAS NOT LATCHED. I GOT OUT AND WENT TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER AND REALIZE IT WOULD NOT LATCH.IT LOOKED AS THOUGH IT WAS SHUT THOUGH IT WAS NOT. HAD TO CALL MY HUSBAND TO COME AND CHECK IT OUT THEN WE HAD TO USE A BUNGEE CORD TO HOLD IT SHUT. I CALLED SERVICE AND HAD THEM TO CHECK IT OUT 7/17/2019 THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAD BEEN HAVING WITH THE DOOR LATCH RECALL THOUGH MY VIN WAS NOT LISTED. THEY REPORTED IT TO FORD AND FORD STILL DID NOT WANT TO COVER THE EXPENSE OR COVER IT IN THE RECALL BECAUSE I HAD OVER 150,000 THOUSAND MILES AND NO EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS IS A ONE OWNER CALL. I MOVED THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND REMOVED THE IGNITION KEY,BUT THE CAR STAYED IN NEUTRAL WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME. THE SHIFT STICK IS NOW STUCK AND THE CAR REMAINS IN NEUTRAL. SHIFT CABLE BUSHING FAILURE ARRIVED TO WORK AND PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE ON A CITY STREET. PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK AND EXITED VEHICLE. VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL BACK EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN PARK. SHIFTER SAID PARK BUT CAR DASH SAID DRIVE. HAD TO APPLY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO KEEP VEHICLE FROM MOVING. I WAS HALF WAY OUT OF CAR WHEN IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. I HAD VEHICLE TOWED AS I WAS NOT ABLE TO PLACE CAR SHIFTER OUT OF PARK POSITION AND CAR WAS IN PARK AND WOULD ROLL IF I DID NOT APPLY EMERGENCY BRAKE. I FOUGHT WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO GET IT REPAIRED THE SAME DAY BECAUSE OF A SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE 3 KIDS WHO SIT IN THE BACK SEAT WITH A DOOR THAT WILL NOT LATCH AND STAY CLOSED. THAT WAS MARCH. TODAY (AUGUST 30), THE LEFT REAR DOOR DECIDED TO DO THE SAME THING. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIX IT UNTIL TOMORROW, WHICH IS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS CONSIDERING THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE FOR MY CHILD TO SIT AND IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I OWN. THE CAR HAS A FLIP OUT KEY. THE KEY STEM BREAKS OUT OF THE FOB HOLDER. IT HAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND THE CAR KEEPS RUNNING. YOU NEED A PLIERS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND PULL OUT THE KEY. BOTH KEY FOBS HAVE BROKEN.

I HEARD OF A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUES WITH 2013 FORD FUSIONS BUT THE SERVICE CENTER SAID MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. I FEEL THIS IS A BIGGER ISSUE THAN THEY THOUGHT AND I AM NOT VERY HAPPY.
POORLY DESIGNED SEAL AROUND BACK-UP CAMERA HOUSING ALLOWS MOISTURE INTO HOUSING, SENDS FAULTY SIGNAL TO ENGINE WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED AND SHIFTED TO REVERSE ULTIMATELY SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN 100% OF TIME, BUT IT IS CONCERNING. USUALLY OCCURS DURING/AFTER RAIN, SNOW, OR HIGH HUMIDITY DAYS. THIS DESIGN FLAW ALSO DISABLES THE BRAKES, EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND POWER STEERING. VEHICLE DOES NOT TURN ON RIGHT AWAY AND STARTER CONTINUOUSLY CLICKS UNTIL VEHICLE COMPUTER RESPONDS TO START, KEY FAUB IS THE ONLY WAY I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER THIS EVENT OCCURS. SOMETIMES THE COMPUTER GETS SO JAMMED UP THAT I MUST COMPLETELY DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND HARD RESTART THE COMPUTER. WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURS THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE STOPPED AND WILL CONTINUOUSLY MOVE BACKWARDS UNTIL IT STOPS ON ITS OWN, IT HITS SOMETHING, OR THE VEHICLE CAN BE STARTED AGAIN. THIS DID HAPPEN TO ME WHILE I WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND MY CAR STOPPED AFTER IT ROLLED IN TO A PARKED CAR, LUCKILY NO DAMAGE OCCURED. AS SOMEONE WHO USED TO BE AN AIRBAG DESIGN ENGINEER I DEFINITELY BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. A MECHANIC AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM INFORMED ME THAT THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN TO FORD(HE FOUND THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO DIAGNOSE, REPAIR, AND WHAT PARTS TO BUY IN THE REPAIR DATABASE) AND I CALLED FORD TO CONFIRM THAT THEY DO KNOW THIS ISSUE. TAKATA RECALL I BOUGHT A USED CAR FROM IN HOUSE AUTO FINANCE IN HAWTHORNE,CA. DATE OF PURCHASE 12/30/17. I COMPLAIN AND ASKED DEALER STEVE TO FIX THE NOTICED JERKING AS I PULL OFF TO DRIVE OR COME TO A STOP. THEY SPEAKING ON THE MECHANIC THAT WORKS ON GROUNDS MANUEL, SAID IT ONLY GOT AN OIL CHANGE BECAUSE THATS WHAT WAS NEEDED ON THE CAR. THIS WAS IN JANUARYJANUARY. THE THINGS NOTICED ON THE CAR WHEN I GOT IT LOOKED AT THE BREAK PADS IN THE REAR WERE GONE THE BREAK PADS IN THE FRONT IS WORN OUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT ONLY TWO WERE NOT THE TRANSMISSION MOTOR MOUNT THE TIRES KEPT HAVING A FLAT THEY ONLY PATCHED IT. I HAVE A 7 MONTH OLD AND BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS CAR FIXED SINCE JANUARY. THE DEALERSHIP WILL FIX PARTIALLY OF THE THINGS MENTIONED BUT NOT FULLY. THEN HE TOLD ME TODAY HE'S NOT FIXING THE CAR. I'LL DRIVE IT ON THE STREET AND IT'LL JERK. I'LL PULL OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT IT'LL JERK. THE TIRE IN THE BACK DRIVER SIDE GOT FLAT. THE TIRE ON DRIVER SIDE IN FRONT GOT FLAT.

I NOTICED SEVERAL SOUNDS COMING FROM MY VEHICLE AT HIWAY SPEEDS AND DURING ACCELERATION. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY FOUND AN ISSUE WITH THE INTERNAL BEARING IN THE TRANSMISSION. SINCE IT'S A HYBRID TRANSMISSION, THEY SAID THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION INSTEAD OF THE BEARING. THEY ORDERED PARTS AND WERE GETTING READY TO FIX UNDER WARRANTY AND THEN THEY REALIZED MY CAR WAS BRANDED TITLE AND SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET $5,750. I DECLINED THE REPAIR TO GET SECOND OPINIONS AND TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. THEY SAID I'D HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. AFTER DOING SOME MORE RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MY PROBLEM IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND IT AFFECTS 2013-2014 FUSION AND C-MAX VEHICLES. MY CAR IS ONLY AT 50K MILES, I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. PLEASE HAVE FORD RELEASE RECALL NOTICES TO 2013-2014 FUSION AND C-MAX VEHICLES. 2013 FORD FUSION LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH NHTSA CAMPAIGN #15V246000. MY FRONT RIGHT DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE ON 09/27/2017 AND MY RIGHT REAR DOOR FAILED ON 12/21/2017. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS STOPPED, IN A PARKING LOT AND FAILED, ONE WHEN EXITING THE CAR AND THE OTHER WHEN ENTERING. I HAD TO USE A BUNGEE CORD THROUGH THE REAR WIDOW WHEN THE FRONT DOOR FAILED AND USE THE CHILD RESTRAINT HOOKS WHEN THE REAR DOOR FAILED. EACH TIME I WAS APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN MY HOME AREA. EACH TIME IT TOOK 3 TO 4 DAYS TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER (ERNEST MCCARTY) CHARGED FOR BOTH REPAIRS AS MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL NOTICE REFERENCED ABOVE. ADDITIONALLY, FORD WAS OF NO HELP, DID NOT RESPOND TO MY INQUIRIES AND THEIR DECISIONS AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY ALSO APPEARED UNCONCERNED FOR MY PROBLEMS.

I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DIAGNOSIS IS A FAILED APIM. INTERESTINGLY FORD HAS GIVEN EXTENDED WARRANTY STATUS FOR THIS VERY ISSUE WITH 2013 FORD FUSIONS BUT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT EAST A RECALL AND I PAID CLOSE TO 400 FOR THEM TO FIX AND THEN A RECALL LETTER CAME OUT ADVISING TO WATCH COOLANT LEVELS FOR OVERHEATING ETC. WHILE DRIVING THE OTHER DAY 09/01/2017 MY CAR DID THE SAME THING AND WAS SHOWING IT WAS OVERHEATING WITHOUT WARNING AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME AGAIN THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ISSUE OUT OF POCKET WHICH IS UNFAIR SINCE THE RECALL IS NOT SOMETHING I HAVE CONTROL OVER. ON FEB. 10, 2016, DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCHES ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID WERE REPLACED AT WALKER FORD/CLEARWATER, FL DUE TO A RECALL NOTICE. ON AUG. 24, 2017, THE DOOR LATCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED. THE SAME DEALER REPLACED THE FAILED LATCH ON AUG. 26, 2017. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT UNDER RECALL AND IS OUTSIDE THE 12 MONTH WARRANTY THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR COSTS. WHEN I STATED THAT I WOULD REPORT THE FAILED LATCH TO THE NHTSA GIVEN THE VARIOUS RECALLS DUE TO FORD DOOR LATCH DEFECTS, THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD CHECK WITH HIS MANAGER ABOUT WAIVING THE COST OF REPAIRS AND HAS NOT YET CHARGED ME. ONLY THE ONE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS USED TO REMEDY THE PRIOR RECALL ARE ALSO DEFECTIVE. THE DOOR LATCH FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AWAY FROM HOME, WHILE I WAS RUNNING ERRANDS.

ONCE I WENT BY MY CAR THEY TOLD ME THE RESULT OF THE DIAGNOSIS AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE BCM AND THE RTM; BCM IS THE PART WHERE THE FUSES ARE AND THE RTM IS THE RADIO TRANSMITTER MODULE, AND WHAT I HAVE TO BUY IS THE RTM WHICH WOULD COST $ 945.83, I WANT TO CLARIFY THAT WITH MY RADIO I HAVE NO PROBLEM SO I I TOLD THE PERSON WHO WAS THERE ... THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE WEST VIRGINIA TURNPIKE (ALTHOUGH I DOUBT THAT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MALFUNCTION) AND SWUNG IT DOWN TO KEEP SUN OUT OF MY EYES. NEVER STAYED UP SINCE.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH ON VEHICLE BROKE, CAUSING DOOR TO FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING. WITHIN 24 HOURS, DRIVER DOOR LATCH SUFFERED THE SAME FAILURE. DOORS ARE OPEN AT ALL TIMES, AND CANNOT BE LATCHED. CUSTOMER BELIEVED THE PROBLEM TO BE COVERED BY THE RECALL OF OTHER 2013 FUSION VEHICLES FOR THE SAME ISSUE, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENERGI WAS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL.
THE IGNITION TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AROUND IN A PARKING LOT. THE KEY CAN POP OUT OR BE TUCKED IN WHEN YOU PRESS A BUTTON, LIKE A POCKET KNIFE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE KEY DIDN'T HOLD IT'S PLACE, THEN DROPPED AND WAS DANGLING INSTEAD OF FIXED AND LOCKED. WHEN THE KEY DROPPED DOWN THE IGNITION SWITCH TURNED OFF, THEN I GOT A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN WHICH SAID THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK. THAT MESSAGE COMES ON IF YOU ATTEMPT TO TURN THE CAR OFF WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING IN PARK.

IT GOT STUCK IN THE SPORT GEAR AND NEVER ABLE TO GO TO NEUTRAL, DRIVE NOR PARK. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE CABLE FROM THE SHIFTER TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. THIS PART COST $512 TO FIX AT THE DEALERSHIP.

THE DOOR LATCH BROKE CAUSING THE DOOR TO NOT LATCH CLOSED. THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR THIS YEAR MODEL, HOWEVER MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT COVERED. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME SO NO DAMAGED WAS CAUSED. THERE IS ALSO NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE CAR.
2013 FORD FUSION SE 1.6L 39,000 MILES SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. BARELY ABLE TO TURN AROUND AND GET BACK -- LUCKILY ONLY TWO BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF, THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY. THE NEXT DAY, BOTH PASSENGER SIDE DOORS PROCEEDED NOT TO CLOSE DUE TO FAULTY LATCHES, SO WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER AND TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE LATCHES (FYI, WE WERE IN JUST TWO WEEKS PREVIOUSLY FOR SERVICE WITHOUT ANY MENTION OF THE RECALL -- ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE, AS WE HAD OUR DOG IN THE BACKSEAT, AND WE HAD TO USE HER LEASH TO TIE THE DOOR SHUT SO SHE WOULD FLY OUT OF THE DOOR THAT WOULDN'T CLOSE). WE THEN ASKED THEM TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIND ANYTHING OUT ABOUT THE WRENCH LIGHT. DEALER SERVICE CENTER SAID THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $700. AFTER RESEARCHING, IT TURNS OUT FORD HAS ADMITTED PROBLEMS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE AND ALLOWED FOR A ONE TIME REPAIR FOR 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. HOWEVER, BOTH SERVICE CENTER AND REGIONAL MANAGEMENT HAVE CLAIMED THAT OUR CAR DOES NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS BASED ON VIN. HOW CAN THIS BE? IF WE HAVE THE ISSUE, THEN THE ISSUE IS PRESENT IN OUR CAR. THIS PART ISN'T DUE TO BE SERVICED UNTIL 75,000 MILES PER MANUFACTURER SUGGESTION. WE CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINE WHICH SENT US AROUND AND AROUND AND BASICALLY IT COMES DOWN TO WHATEVER THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER TELLS US. THE PART IS SO BACK ORDERED, PRESUMABLY BECAUSE THERE IS A WIDE-SPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM (ACCORDING TO A LOCAL FORD PARTS DEPARTMENT MANAGER) - THAT THE PRICE OF THIS PART HAS SKYROCKETED. MAKING US THE PROFIT CENTERS FOR A KNOWN, BORDERLINE RECALL/SAFETY PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN ADDRESSED IS ABSURD AND UNBELIEVABLE TO ME AT THIS POINT. NO WE HAVE GONE FROM LOVING OUR CAR THAT HAS GIVEN US ZERO PROBLEMS FOR THREE YEARS TO NEVER BUY A FORD. EVER.

WE HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION AND WHILE DRIVING CAR MAKING A RIGHT TURN THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR FLEW OPEN LUCKILY OUR CHILD WAS SITTING AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND WE WERE ON OUR DRIVEWAY TURNING ON A SMALL HIGHWAY. THE DOOR LATCH IS NOT ALLOWING DOOR TO STAY SHUT. UPON RESEARCH WE FOUND THERE IS A RECALL ON DOOR LATCH OF 2013 FORD FUSION MANUFACTURED AT HERMOSILLO PLANT AND DURING CERTAIN DATES IN 2012. WE TAPED OUR DOOR SHUT AND WENT TO DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THAT OUR VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. I INFORMED THEM THAT OUR CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN HERMOSILLO PLANT IN 2013 AND IT FITS THE RECALL DESCRIPTION. HOWEVER THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS A RECALL. THEY WANT US TO PUT UP THE 400.00 TO PAY FOR IT WHEN THEIR COMPANY HAS A RECALL ON DOOR LATCHES. WE HAD ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE COOLANT AND AGAIN THEY HAD A RECALL ON THE COOLANT SYSTEM AS WELL BUT OUR CAR IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL ALTHOUGH AGAIN IT FIT THE RECALL DESCRIPTION TO A T. WE PAID TO HAVE THAT FIXED BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET ON A RECALL THE COMPANY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING. WE DON'T HAVE 400.00 TO FORK OUT AND WE NEED IT FIXED AS WE HAVE 3 CHILDREN THAT WE TAKE TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY AND WE ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND OUT WHERE WE CAN GET THE MONEY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WHEN WE FEEL IT SHOULD BE FORD TO FIX IT.

WHEN EVER I STOP FOR GAS THE CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING.IT ALSO STOPPED RUNNING AT A RED LIGHT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT TURNED OVER. CAR MAKES A STRANGE NOISE WHEN DOING 40 MPH OR MORE.I DON'T FEEL ANYTHING DIFFERENT. BUT IT MAKES A LOUD NOISE EVERY COUPLE SECONDS.
THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR CLUTCH FELL OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THE BOLT RETAINING THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY SHEARED OFF RESULTING IN THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY SEPARATING FROM THE COMPRESSOR PULLEY.
THE LATCH ON THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR FAILED AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONS, JUST AS DESCRIBED IN RELEVANT RECALL. HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH MY MODEL YEAR IS PART OF RECALL, FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON MY VIN IS EXCLUDED. FORD MUST FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER DOORS. I WAS TRYING TO ENTER FREEWAY WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN. THIS VEHICLE IS A FAMILY CAR, AND I HAVE 3 MINOR CHILDREN WHO, I PREFER, ARE NOT PUT IN HARMS WAY AS A RESULT OF SOME MISPLACED ISSUE ON WHETHER MY VEHICLE IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL OF THESE PARTS, WHICH ARE ALREADY WELL-ESTABLISHED AS DEFECTIVE.

TWICE I HAVE TURNED RIGHT INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND MY CAR HAS SURGED FORWARDED AS IF HIT FROM BEHIND OR THE BRAKES FAILED. I AM OBVIOUSLY AT A LOW SPEED AND THE ROAD SLOPES DOWN SLIGHTLY. MY DRIVE IS GRAVEL. IT PROBABLY SURGED A GOOD CAR LENGTH BEFORE THE BRAKES ENGAGED, YET MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKES THE ENTIRE TIME. IT WAS SCARY AS HELL. THE FIRST TIME I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER CAR. THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT TODAY AND FOUND NO ISSUES. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THIS WAITING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SEQUENCE OF EVENTS CAUSED IT BEFORE. THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND THE OTHER TIME WAS ONE WEEK AGO.
IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR, THE SHEET METAL THAT IS ON THE TOP OF THE TRUNK, IT HAS VERY SHARP EDGES.. WHILE LOADING TRUNK, MY HAND/FINGER WAS CUT ON THE SHARP EDGE. CONTACT LOCAL FORD DEALER, THE BODY SHOP THERE AGREED THAT IT WAS SHARP AND IT WAS PROBABLY A MANUFACTURER ISSUE, BUT THEY SAID THAT FORD WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A PIECE OF PLASTIC TO PUT IN THE RAZOR SHARP HOLES. I DID SEND IN A COMPLAINT TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR DYING WHILE ACCELERATING FROM STOPS. TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALER, NOTHING WRONG. TOOK TO LOCAL MECHANIC AFTER IT DIED ON ME AND THEY SAID SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING FOR THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE HAS DIED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES WHILE AT STOP SIGNS AND STOP LIGHTS, WHEN YOU GO TO TAKE OFF, IT ACTS LIKE IT ISN'T GETTING GAS. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT SAY THERE IS NO PROGRAM UPDATES FOR THROTTLE BOTTLE. KEVIN AT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT WHAT I FOUND ONLINE WITH THROTTLE BODY ISSUES WAS NOT TRUE, UNLESS I FOUND IT ON FORD.COM. THIS ALL STARTED ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18TH.
PER THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS I UPDATED MY VEHICLE TO SYNC VERSION 4.4. EVER SINCE THEM I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DISTRACTING ISSUES OCCUR WITH THE HAND FREE PORTION OF THE SYSTEM. WHEN A CALL COMES IN THE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO RING AFTER THE CALL IS ANSWERED. THE SYSTEM'S VOICE RECOGNITION IS VERY UNRELIABLE WITH THE SYSTEM EITHER NOT PERFORMING THE ACTION REQUESTED OR NOT PERFORMING AT ALL. ITS A HIT OR MISS PROBLEM WHEN USING THE VEHICLE TO MAKE A CALL. WHILE DRIVING THESE ISSUES DISTRACT THE DRIVER FROM PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ROAD AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR AT ANY SPEED. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT SO FAR HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS IT . IN THE FORD FOURMS THERE ARE PROMISES OF A NEW UPDATE SOON B BUT SO FAR NOTHING HAS HABBENED. THE VERSION OF SOFTWARE AFFECTED ARE SYNV 4.4 AND GEN2 - VERSION 3.8. AS THIS SOFTWARE IS CURRENTLY INSTALLED IN ALMOST ALL FORD UNITS COULD YOU PLEASE GET THEM TO EITHER FIX THE ISSUES WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ALLOW DEALERS TO REINSTALL EARLIER VERSIONS THAT DID FUNCTION CORRECTLY
DEALER SERVICE MANAGER STATES THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR SUFFERED A "CATASTROPHIC FAILURE" OF ITS INTERNAL PARTS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE IT WAS BEING DRIVEN. DEALER STATES THE ENTIRE AC SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2500.00. THE PCM MAY ALSO BE AFFECTED BUT THAT CANNOT BE DETERMINED UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS IN A STATE WHERE IT CAN BE STARTED, WHICH WON'T BE ACHIEVED UNTIL AFTER THE ENTIRE AC SYSTEM IS REPLACED. THIS EXORBITANT REPAIR COST IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY.

TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHO KEPT CAR FOR MORE THAN A WEEK, RETURNED TO OWNER AND STATED 'IT IS FIXED, BUT WE USED THE SAME PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE SINCE FORD HAS NOT YET PROVIDED A "FIX" FOR THIS PROBLEM. ONLY ONE DOOR WAS ADDRESSED. SERVICE AGENT ALSO STATED THAT "DURING THE SECOND "FIX" (SEE (2) ABOVE) PART WAS NOT REPLACED BUT ONLY 'CLEANED' BECAUSE NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. FORD NOTIFIED NHTSA OF THIS ISSUE 04/23/2015. DEALER NOTIFICATION SAFETY RECALL 15S16 WAS 04/30/2015. FORD HAS KNOWINGLY RETURNED A DEFECTIVE AND ADMITTEDLY UNSAFE VEHICLE TO OWNER THREE TIMES, FAILING TO FOLLOW RECALL REQUIREMENTS, AND STATING THAT "NOTHING FURTHER WILL BE DONE UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT". APRIL 30 2015 SAFETY RECALL 15S16 REQUIRES 'OBTAIN DOOR LATCH KIT AND INSTALL NEW DOOR LATCH ON EACH OF THE FOUR DOORS'. 15S16 ALSO STATES THAT 'PARTS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE IN SUFFICIENT QUANTITIES TO REPAIR ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED ... CUSTOMER VEHICLES SOLD BE REPAIRED ONLY IF THE VEHICLE ARRIVES AT YOUR DEALERSHIP WITH A BROKEN DOOR LATCH'. AS NOTED, OUR VEHICLE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES WITH A BROKEN DOOR LATCH, WAS NEVER REPAIRED PER THE RECALL, BUT WAS RE-PRESENTED TO OWNER BY DEALER THREE TIMES AS "FIXED".
WHILE ARRIVING AT OUR DESTINATION THIS EVENING, MY FAMILY AND I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE, AFTER I PRESSED THE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL, I RETURNED TO THE CAR, THINKING SOMETHING MIGHT BE CAUGHT. I DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING OBSTRUCTING THE DOOR, SO I TRIED CLOSING THE DOOR, AND IT JUST WOULD NOT LATCH. I PROCEEDED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE, IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM DRAINING, I WILL CALL THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW, SEE IF THEY CAN REPAIR IT.
AT AN OUTSIDE FUNCTION, LOADED MY 2 YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT THEN PUT MY BAGS ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. SHUT THE DOOR ONLY TO FIND OUT IT IS NO LONGER LATCHING SO MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE AT ALL. IT WAS A SATURDAY JUST BEFORE NOON. CONTACTED 3 DEALERS ALL OF WHOM TOLD ME TO DRIVE MY CAR TO THEM BUT THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT UNTIL MONDAY. NONE HAVE PART AVAILABLE AS THIS ISSUE IS ACTUALLY A RECALL. TOLD THEM IT WOULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE, LET ALONE WITH A TODDLER IN THE BACKSEAT. THEY ALL SAID THEY COULDN'T TOW IT UNLESS I PAID THE TOW BILL. ONE SUGGESTED I HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILE DRIVING IT TO THEM. THE OTHER ADVISED I NEEDED TO FIND A PIECE OF ROPE TO TIE IT CLOSED. NO ONE KNOWS HOW LONG BEFORE IT IS ABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THEY'VE ALL SUGGESTED I DROP IT OFF UNTIL IT CAN BE REPAIRED BUT NONE CAN OFFER A RENTAL. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE. MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH WORK AND WE HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN. I ASKED WHAT I WOULD DO IN THE EVENT THAT IT RAINED BECAUSE THE INSIDE OF MY CAR WOULD GET WET. SO FOR NOW I'M STUCK AT HOME WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS USELESS WITH NO SOLUTION IN SITE. DRIVING INTO WORK IN THE MORNING ON A 3 LANE BUSY ROAD, THE "STOP SAFELY NOW" ALERT CAME ON AND THE CAR STALLED. IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE ROAD WITH CARS RUSHING AROUND ME TO BE ON THEIR WAY. I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND, WITH THE HELP OF SOME GOOD SAMARITANS, PUSH IT TO SAFETY ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC INTO A COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS HELD FOR 7 DAYS AND THEY TOLD ME IT "JUST STARTED WORKING OVER THE WEEKEND AND WE DON'T KNOW WHY IT FAILED BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T ANY ERROR CODES TO READ". HERE IS THE REPORT FROM THE DEALERSHIP: "TOWED IN WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND STOP SAFELY LIGHT CAME ON ALSO CAUSED BY NO CRANK, NO START. SELF TEST, 20 DTC S. CLEARED DTC S. STARTED OK AFTER DTC S CLEARED. ROAD TESTED & RETESTED, DTC S DID NOT RETURN. NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN MORE." I HAVE PLAYED PHONE TAG WITH THE FORD CUSTOMER REP FOR WEEKS NOW AND I HAVE GROWN IRRITATED. I DO NOT HAVE ANY TRUST IN THIS CAR TO RELIABLY KEEP MYSELF, MY WIFE AND NEWBORN CHILD SAFE. WE FEEL HELPLESS AT THIS POINT BECAUSE THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY CONCERN OR REASSURANCE SHOWN ON FORD'S BEHALF AND WE'RE STUCK IN A CAR THAT WE OWE MORE THAN ITS WORTH. PURCHASED CAR ON NOV 2 2013 RETURNED TO DEALER 31 DAYS LATER DUE TO RECALL. HAVE REQUESTED BUY BACK FROM FORD. WHO WOULD PUT THERE GRANDCHILDREN AT RISK IN THIS CAR WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF A FIRE?
