Two recalls for this make year and model car had been recalled previously but not for my VIN specifically and the issues are appearing. The first is “doors may open driving” recall on your website and the second is “engine cylinder head may leaks oil” which is also on ur website. Both were recalled for this make and year of the ford fusion but not for my VIN so ford is stating they cannot fix it and want to charge me even for a diagnostic.

The drivers side door showed it was latched there weren’t any lights saying that the drivers side door was open or any other door was opened. I was driving and turning left and all the sudden my drivers side door flew open and struck objects on the side of the road people had placed out for garbage pick up. My safety was put at risk by my drivers side door coming open while I was driving. I started to pull over but by the time I was almost stopped my drivers side door came swinging back and I had my hand out to catch it , it smacked into my left hand bending my wrist back and shoving my elbow in my arm into my side causing excruciating pain. My drivers side door has dents a scratches in it from the objects it smashed into and I have pain in my left fingers and hand and wrist and arm hurts along with the side of my abdomen from being crushed into my side. I also had my head leaning towards the door so when it came flying back at me it hit my head hard. I ended up vomiting and feeling extremely anxious and scared and dizzy I was very stunned. I had shut and closed my drivers side car door and there wasn’t any lights indicating any doors in my vehicle were still open. My 2013 ford fusion se had been taken in for several recalls the door actuators where amongst several I had the dealership inspect and they were supposed to have fixed them. I haven’t driven the vehicle since I plan to take it into the dealership and get it checked out. I need make a police report and am calling my auto insurance company in the morning to let them be aware of the issue as well. There weren’t any warning lamps or messages until after the driver side door came open. There is now a warning light on my dashboard. And the lights on my dashboard started flickering. It first happened March 1, 2022.

Car consistently tries to pop the trunk while driving while also unlocking and locking doors. The seat always goes back to a default position. Does it so much I had to unplug the trunk actuator because it wouldn’t even let me drive off without opening the trunk. Lights flicker all weird when it does it. It does this idling and driving all the time. I can’t use photos to describe but I do have a video but your platform won’t let me upload videos.

THE HOOD LATCH ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION BROKE AND WOULD FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I REPLACED MINE AND FROM THE UPLOADED PICTURES YOU CAN SEE THAT THE PART WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE PLASTIC BUMP (CIRCLED IN RED) THAT THE LEVER GRABS ON TO WEARS OUT OVER TIME, AND WHEN LIFTED, WILL NOT OPEN THE HOOD CORRECTLY . IT'S ALSO NOT FAIR THAT THE PARTS NEEDED HAVE TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY, COST CUTTING AT ITS FINEST .

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE NOTICED THAT THE TRUNK WAS LEAKING AND FULL OF WATER. THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF WATER IN THE TRUNK AND THERE WAS MOLD ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK. THE AREA WHERE THE SPEAR TIRE WAS LOCATED WAS COVERED WITH MOLD AND RUST. THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WAS COVERED WITH MOLD AS WELL AS THE STEERING WHEEL, THE SEATS, THE DASHBOARD AND CARPET. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED NOR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

A FEW YEARS AGO THERE WAS A RECALL OF FORD 2013 FUSION DUE TO DOOR LATCHES FAILING. MY LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY PERFORMED THE WARRANTY REPAIRS. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE RIGHT REAR DOOR ON MY CAR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THE REPAIR HAD BEEN MADE THERE WAS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE. I DISSEMBLED THE DOOR MYSELF AND LOCATED THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHILE RESEARCHING THE PART I DISCOVERED NHTSA RECALL 20V-177. THE YEAR OF MY CAR WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL BUT THE PART NUMBER OF THE DEFECTIVE PART WAS. I HAVE ATTACHED THE RECALL INFORMATION AS WELL AS A PHOTO OF THE DEFECTIVE PART FROM MY VEHICLE. THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE SCENARIOS. THE DEFECTIVE PART WAS ACTUALLY NEVER REPLACE BY THE DEALER, OR, THE PART USED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL DEFECTIVE PART IS DEFECTIVE AS WELL. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

MY VEHICLE HAD THE DOOR LATCH RECALL COMPLETED IN 2015. SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER, FRONT PASSENGER, AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCHES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL AND FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AND CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD BY NOT LATCHING CLOSED WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF PROBLEM HAPPENS 12 MONTHS AFTER RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED. ANY REPAIRS HAS TO BE AT MY EXPENSE AND DIAGNOSTIC HAS TO BE PAID BY ME BECAUSE IT IS A LABOR CHARGE. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED, EVEN WHEN LOCKED. WHEN THE DOOR IS PUSHED CLOSED, IT BOUNCES BACK AT THE CLOSER AND WILL NOT CLOSE AT ALL. THERE WAS NOTHING IMPEDING THE DOOR TO CLOSE, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. THE INITIAL ISSUE HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, BUT WILL FLY OPEN WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. AFTER REPAIRING THE DOORS LATCHES IN MARCH OF 2016 FOR NHTSA RECALL 15V-246, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH ON OCTOBER 18, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME IN A PARKING LOT. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT INITIATED THE RECALL OBVIOUSLY THE REPLACED PART DURING THE RECALL IS ALSO DEFECTIVE. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPLACED FOR A COST OF $347. I HAVE AN INVOICE FROM THE DEALER AT HAND. THE INVOICE IS FOR "REPLACE THE CABLE FOR LATCH AND HANDLE DUE TO BREAKING AND NOT ALLOWING PROPER MOVEMENT." THE PART IS A CABLE ASSEMBLY AND THE FORD PART NUMBER IS DS7Z 54221A00 B

DOOR LATCH RECALL WAS PERFORMED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO. APPROX 14 MONTHS. (15S16) DOOR LATCHES HAVE A PAWL SPRING TAB THAT MAY BREAK. THIS CONDITION WILL TYPICALLY PREVENT THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS WHERE THE DOOR IS ABLE TO BE CLOSED, THE DOOR MAY UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. SERVICE ACTION DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES. THIS SERVICE MUST BE PERFORMED ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES AT NO CHARGE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER. HOWEVER THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT SHUT LAST WEEK. THIS OCCURRED AFTER THE RECALL HAS BEEN CLOSED OUT. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER WHICH THEN I WAS QUOTED THE PARTS AND LABOR OF THE JOB. I CONTACTED FORD RELATIONS STATING THIS STILL FALLS UNDER THE DESCRIPTION OF 15S16 HOWEVER THEY CANNOT REOPEN THE RECALL ONCE IT HAS BEEN CLOSED. I REACHED BACK TO CLOSE IT AGAIN AND IT JUST BOUNCED CLOSED AND THEN OPEN AGAIN. FINDING A PLACE TO PARK, I EXAMINED THE LATCH, WHICH WOULD NOT CATCH AT ALL WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. I HAD TO USE ROPES AND BUNGEE CORDS TO SECURE THE DOOR TO GET HOME AND MY 4 YEAR OLD HAD TO RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT SINCE I COULDN'T RISK HIM BEING IN THE BACK WITH A DOOR THAT WASN'T SECURE. TODAY, 10/1/2019, I CONTACTED FORD LEGACY IN MCDONOUGH GA AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT WHILE THERE WAS A RECALL OUT FOR 2013 FUSION FOR LATCH FAILURES, MY VEHICLE WASN'T SUBJECT TO THE RECALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $250 FOR THE REPAIR, WHICH IS BEING PERFORMED NOW.*DT*JB

I TOOK MY CAR IN TO WATSON FORD IN JACKSON, MS IN 2017 TO BE RECALL SERVICED. THEY FIXED EVERYTHING..INCLUDING MY DOOR LATCHES. I HAD TO BRING IT BACK IN JUNE 18 BECAUSE THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SWING OPEN AND MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE SEAT & COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT. NOW, MY BACK DOOR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH HAS DONE THE VERY SAME THING. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO TALK TO THE FORD COMPANY, TRYING TO GET THEM TO FIX THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT BUT THEY REFUSE. I WAS DRIVING BOTH TIMES & BOTH TIMES MY CHILD'S LIFE WAS ENDANGERED. THEY'VE BEEN RUDE & UNHELPFUL. I ONLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY WITHOUT MY CAR DOOR FLYING OPEN. THE CONTACT CALLED TED RUSSELL FORD LINCOLN (8551 KINGSTON PIKE, KNOXVILLE, TN 37919, (865) 693-7611) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,707.

THE VEHICLE DOOR WAS SECURED USING ROPE THAT WAS TIED AROUND THE DOOR FRAME FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR TO THE FRAME OF THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. WE PAID FOR THE REPAIR. LAST WEEK, THE VERY SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR (DIFFERENT DOOR). BOTH TIMES IT HAPPENED AS WE WERE GETTING INTO THE CAR WHILE IT WAS STILL PARKED. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE OUR SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. AFTER ABOUT TWO OR SO WEEKS FROM PICKING THE VEHICLE UP, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SWUNG OPEN WITH MY GIRLFRIEND IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND MY DOG IN THE BACK (IF IT WAS MY DOG IN THE FRONT SEAT HE WOULD BE DEAD ON THE HIGHWAY). I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I FOUND OUT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED 2 PREVIOUS TIMES, ONCE IN APRIL AND ONCE IN JULY, CLAIMING THAT ALL 4 DOORS HAD BEEN REPLACED. I ONCE AGAIN HAD TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP AND RENT A CAR. THEN TODAY, I RECEIVE A CALL THAT THEY GAVE ME A COMPLETELY INVALID LICENSE PLATE. WHEN I WENT TO GET ANOTHER TAG AFTER MY TEMPORARY ONE EXPIRED THEY REFUSED TO PRINT ANOTHER ONE EVEN THOUGH I ONLY GOT ONE TEMPORARY. I EXPLAINED THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE WITHOUT A PLATE WHEN THE PERSON WORKING GAVE ME HARD PLATE AND TOLD ME IT WAS MINE. I RECENTLY JUST GOT MY FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE. IF I WAS PULLED OVER WITH A PLATE THAT WAS NOT REGISTERED AND OUT-OF-STATE LICENSE I WOULD GET TICKETED (POSSIBLE ARRESTED), CAR IMPOUNDED, AND TONS OF FINES. WELL, JUST PRIOR TO GETTING THE LOCKS REPLACED, MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN UPON TURNING A CORNER ON A BUSY MAIN ROAD AND THANKFULLY MY PASSENGER WAS WEARING A SEATBELT AS THEY ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE CAR. I HAD THE LOCKS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP ON JANUARY 24TH 2017. WELL, TO MY SURPRISE LAST SUNDAY JULY 8TH, 2018, MY WIFE WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND AGAIN, I TURNED A CORNER ON A BUSY MAIN ROAD AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. SHE TOO ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE CAR. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ORDERED A NEW FRONT DOOR LOCK AND REPLACED IT YESTERDAY JULY 10TH 2018. HOWEVER, I WAS INFORMED THAT FORD WOULD NOT COVER THE COST AND I WAS CHARGED $257.21. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY CONTACTED FORD WHO REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD ALREADY REPLACED THE LOCKS IN 2017. I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING AND REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN MY WIFE'S DEATH AND I NEED SOME HELP RECTIFYING THIS PROBLEM. WITH RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN THE HERMOSILLO ASSEMBLY PLANT WHICH IS ONE OF THE PLANTS THE FAULTY PARTS CAME FROM. I WAS CHARGED $539.99 TO REPAIR DOOR. MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I BELIEVE THAT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO ME. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT THE LATCH MALFUNCTIONED LIKE THIS NO MATTER HOW OLD IT WAS. LAST WEEKEND REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE AND HAS REMAINED "UN-CLOSABLE" SINCE, I HAD TO TIE DOOR IN WITH SEATBELTS AND LIMP THE CAR BACK HOME. WENT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT DOOR LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST OF PARTS AND LABOR WILL NOT BE COVERED AS THE RECALL WAS PAST WARRANTY (1 YEAR). UPON TALKING TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RECALL WAS ALREADY SERVICED THEY WOULD NOT OPEN ANOTHER CLAIM. WHILE TALKING TO ON OF THE SERVICE PROVIDERS HE STATED THAT THE LATCHES WERE NOT A NEW MODEL AND JUST WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME MODEL THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ON IT AND WAS JUST A NEW PART. IF A PART IS RECALLED I'D EXPECT A NEW VERSION THAT EXCEEDS THE SAFETY STANDARDS TO BE INSTALLED. THE DOOR LATCHES FAIL SIMPLY WHEN GETTING IN A CAR AND CLOSING THE DOOR. THE DOORS WILL NO LONGER REMAIN CLOSED. THE LATCH IS PLASTIC AND SIMPLY WIGGLES IN THE LATCH SLOT WHEN DEFECTIVE. I HAD TO USE RATCHET STRAPS TO KEEP THE DOORS CLOSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER 23 MILES AWAY. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT HOME IN THE GARAGE, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT INITIALLY OCCURRED AND IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY IT WAS DRIVEN WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'M SURE IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT IF THIS HAPPENED TO ONE DOOR, IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANY OF THE DOORS AND CAUSE A SERIOUS HAZARD IF A DOOR CAME OPEN WHILE DRIVING. I DON'T KNOW OF ANY RECALLS FOR FORD FUSIONS RELATED TO THIS. I HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THAT THE DOOR WON'T CLOSE PROPERLY, BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO CAPTURE THIS PROBLEM IN A STILL PHOTO. DOOR LATCH SAFETY RECALL 15S16 THIS RECALL REPLACEMENT WAS MADE ON 12/2015 FOR THE VEHICLE. ON 4/8/2017 THE VEHICLE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE OR LOCK. IT ACTUALLY OPENS WHILE MOVING AND HAD TO BE SECURED VIA BUNGEE CORD TO MAKE IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. UNFORTUNATELY, ACCORDING TO FORD MOTOR CO, ONCE THE RECALL IS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE, THE WARRANTY ONLY LASTS FOR ONE YEAR. THEREFORE, THE WARRANTY RAN OUT ON 12/2016 FOR THE RECALLED REPLACEMENT PART. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT HONOR THE REPLACED PART AND IN FACT STATES THAT IT WILL COST ME $500 TO FIX. THIS IS A MAJOR RECALL ISSUE FOR FORD AND THE RECALL HAS BEEN EXTENDED TWICE SINCE THE ORIGINAL ONE. I WILL ATTACH THE INFORMATION BELOW. WITHOUT THE LATCH, THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE, UNABLE TO BE LOCKED, AND CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM TO BE CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED. I WANT AN INVESTIGATION ON THE REPLACEMENT DOOR LATCH PARTS. I DO NOT FEEL AS THE OTHER DOORS ARE SAFE EITHER SINCE THEY WERE APPARENTLY REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME UNDER THE RECALL. FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THIS ISSUE AS THE ORIGINAL FIX IS DEFECTIVE. THIS RECALL AFFECTS OVER 2 MILLION CARS. FORD ALSO TOLD ME IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER VEHICLES, THEY COULD DO AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION ON THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THEN I CHECKED ONLINE FOR ACTIVE RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE AND THE DOOR LATCH WAS NOT ON THERE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THEIR RESPONSE SO THE GAVE ME FORD CORPORATE'S PHONE NUMBER. I CONTACTED THEM, THEY GAVE ME THE SAME RESPONSE AS THE DEALERSHIP BUT WAS GOING TO DOCUMENT IT AND TO KEEP MY RECEIPT, FOR THE REPAIRS, IN CASE MY VIN GETS ADDED TO THE RECALL. SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS IT TAKES FOR YOU TO INVESTIGATE THIS, TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT THIS SITUATION IS CLEARLY UNSAFE AND LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I NOW HAVE THE OPTION OF SPENDING AN ADDITIONAL $1000 OR RISK HAVING THE OTHER TWO DOOR LATCHES FAIL AS WELL. THE MOST DISHEARTENING ASPECT IS THE TREMENDOUS SAFETY ISSUE THIS PROBLEM CREATES, WHICH MAKES MY "CHOICE" NOT REALLY A CHOICE AT ALL. FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY OR OTHERS WHO MAY BE RIDING IN MY CAR, I SIMPLY MUST PAY TO HAVE THE OTHER DOOR LATCHES REPLACED. WE PAID THEM $330 TO REPAIR, WE THEN CALLED FORD AND FOUND OUR VIN # WAS NOT IN THE RECALL. WE SPENT 4 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH EVERYONE FROM THE DEALER TO FORD THEMSELVES. SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP US UNTIL IT WAS PART OF A RECALL WITHOUT CHARGING US. THIS IS A CARE MY TWIN SONS ARE TAKING TO COLLEGE WITH THEM IN TWO WEEKS. THIS ORIGINALLY HAPPENED TO OUR REAR LEFT SIDE DOOR BEFORE FORD HAD RECALLED THE PART. AS MY HUSBAND TURNED LEFT ON A CITY STREET THE DOOR OPENED. MY TODDLER WAS IN HER CAR SEAT NEXT TO THE DOOR AND MY 8 YEAR OLD SON HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT TILL HE COULD PULL OVER. THE CAR WAS JUST BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY MILEAGE, BUT ONLY 18 MONTHS. IT WAS NOT RECALLED AT THAT TIME. NEXT WAS OUR LEFT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING A COWORKER HOME WHEN THE DOOR LATCH BROKE. HE WAS IN THE TOWN HE WORKS IN AND HAD TO LEAVE IT AT THEIR FORD DEALERSHIP, DUE TO THE FACT THAT DRIVING IT OVER AN HOUR TO THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT AT WAS UNSAFE AND IMPOSSIBLE. THEY HAD TO KEEP OUR CAR FOR OVER A MONTH TO GET THE PART TO FIX IT. DURING THAT TIME PERIOD OUR CAR SAT WITH THE DOOR TAPED SHUT ON THEIR LOT. WE EXPECTED THAT DURING THAT MONTH THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED ALL THE DOORS ACCORDING TO THE RECALL, HOWEVER THAT WAS NOT DONE. WHY ARE THESE CARS BEING SENT BACK ON THE STREET WITH UNSAFE PARTS? ARE WE WAITING FOR CHILDREN TO FALL OUT AND DIE ON THE STREETS? FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT FIXING THE PARTS IN ORDER OF THEIR RECALL WHILE THEY HAVE THE VEHICLE. WHO HAS TIME TO GO BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALERSHIP, DEAL WITH GETTING A RENTAL CAR AND WAITING FOR A FEW PARTS AT A TIME TO COME IN AND FIX IT. MY FORD FUSION BEGAN TO HAVE EXTREME MOLD IN IT AFTER ONLY BEING JUST OVER 2 AND A HALF YEARS OLD. WE HAVE HAD THE CABIN FILTER REPLACED, INTERIOR DETAILED, AND MOST RECENTLY, THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE AC EVAPORATOR FLUSHED (1 MONTH AGO). THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE A RANCID SMELL OF MOLD. THE MOLD IS SO BAD THAT MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD CO-WORKERS COMPLAIN ABOUT MOLD IN OUR OFFICES WHEN WE HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR TO WORK. THE MOLD HAS ALSO MADE EACH OF US SICK TO OUR STOMACH WHEN WE HAVE HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVE EXPLAINED TO FORD THAT MY WIFE IS PREGNANT AND DUE TO HAVE A NEW CHILD BUT FORD'S ONLY RESOLUTION WAS TO HAVE THE CARPET REMOVED AND THEN THE CABIN FILTER REPLACED (AGAIN) AND THE INTERIOR DETAILED (AGAIN). THIS RESOLUTION IS VERY UNLIKELY TO REMOVE THE MOLD AND WILL DEFINITELY HAVE SOME TRACES OF MOLD LEFT REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY DO. I HAVE ASKED FORD TO PROVIDE A RESOLUTION THAT WILL NOT INVOLVE HAVING MY WIFE AND FUTURE CHILD IN A VEHICLE THAT HAS MOLD IN IT BUT THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ONE. THEY ALSO REFUSED MY REQUEST FOR A BUYBACK. THIS MOLD IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 40,000 MILES, HOWEVER, WE HAVE HAD A WINDOW REPLACED AT 17,236 MILES AND ALSO EXPRESSED CONCERNS THAT MOISTURE WAS BUILDING IN THE FRONT WINDOW AT 29,391 MILES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IF THEY ARE EXPOSED TO THIS VEHICLE.

WE CONTACTED OUR DEALERSHIP AND FORD DIRECTLY, BUT WE WERE TOLD OUR VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WE PAID NEARLY $500 TO HAVE THE FAULTY LATCH REPLACED, AND WE NOW FEAR FOR OUR SAFETY, NOT KNOWING IF THE OTHER THREE DOOR LATCHES WILL FAIL AS WELL. DRIVERS DOOR LATCH FAILED. THIS IS THE THIRD LATCH TO FAIL ON THE CAR. WE HAD BOTH PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCHES FAIL LAST YEAR, FILED A REPORT FOR BOTH. LATCH WAS REPLACED, NEW DESIGN DOOR LATCHES APPRENTLY UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR.

ONE MUST MOVE THEIR HEAD FORWARD AND BACKWARD TO VIEW BEYOND THE LARGE BLOCKED-OUT AREA BEHIND THE PILLAR TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO PEOPLE OR OBSTRUCTIONS TO THE DRIVER'S INTENDED PATH. IN THE ATTACHED PHOTO OVER 50% OF THE CROSSWALK IS NOT VISIBLE. THERE IS ALSO A PROBLEM WHEN PULLING UP TO A INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, AND LOOKING TO THE RIGHT FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. A LARGE PORTION OF THE ROADWAY VIEW IS BLOCKED. VERY ANNOYING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. TOO LATE NOW FOR MODIFICATION BUT CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE FOR FUTURE MODELS.
