AFTER ENTERING STREET, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE, GLOW LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON AND DID NOT FLASH, A POP SOUNDED AND THE ENGINE DIED AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED, VEHICLE WAS TOWED 25 MILES TO DEALERSHIP, WAITING FOR DIAGNOSIS. NO PRIOR WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS THAT THE ENGINE WAS INOPERABLE. HAD A NEW BATTERY AND HAD JUST MADE A TRIP OF 345 MILES TWO DAYS PRIOR. *TR
DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT 45 MPH THE CAR DASH DINGED, I LOOKED DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY THE CAR LOST POWER. I WAS ALMOST IN MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS AS THE CAR SLOWED RAPIDLY WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS (THE CAR ENGINE STOPPED SO SUDDENLY THAT IT TOOK THREE OR FOUR SECONDS TO COMPREHEND THE SITUATION AND ACTIVATE HAZARD LIGHTS AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION) TO WARN OTHER CARS THAT I NO LONGER HAVE POWER. ALSO, TO TRY AND MOVE OUT OF HARMS WAY WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AS THE CAR HAD NO ENGINE POWER. THE CAR WAS EVENTUALLY TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT METAL FROM THE FUEL PUMP WAS IN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, WITHOUT WARNING OR CHANGE OF THROTTLE, ENGINE SLOWED NOTICEABLY. UNABLE TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEED WITHOUT HIGH FUEL CONSUMPTION AND DANGEROUSLY SLOW ACCELERATION. DASHBOARD LIGHT INDICATED PROBLEM WITH GLOWPLUG (DIESEL ENGINE) AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER NEXT DAY; TECH REPLACED "PRESSURE PIPE" (FAULTY CHARGE PRESSURE SENSOR ON HIGH PRESSURE FILTER PUMP) AND "FLASHED" ECM. ENGINE'S ACCELERATION STILL BELOW WHAT IT WAS PRIOR TO EVENT. *TR
