The backup camera works intermittently. Showing a black screen and telling me to see a dealer.
The back up camera is intermittent or is a black screen. It also displays like a mirror image instead of what is directly behind me (right is on the left and left is on the right)
The backup camera is not working right it's either fuzzy or it's black and sometimes it is showing on opposite direction causing me to almost have a huge accident with my children inside this is currently still happening and started over 2 months ago.

This is a report of the same issues that have been issued a recall for newer years of the same make and model, the Ford Fusion. The rear backup camera stopped working and directly impedes the safety and visibility when reversing the vehicle. An error/warning comes up to contact the dealership due to the malfunction. The 2014 was excluded from the recent recall for these same backup cameras on the 2016+ models. The recall needs to be extended to ALL years of the Ford Fusion.
Rear view camera inspection recall (Campaign 25SA9/25v695) should be extended at least a few more years. My 2014 Ford Fusion Platinum is affected by the same issue.
Vehicle camera works intermittently. The screen will come on while in reverse however, will go BLACK. I've turned the camera off and on but the same thing happens. The camera should not function like this.
The rearview camera does not display properly. The image is flipped which can cause confusion when using the camera to check for traffic. Sometimes the camera does not come on/display images when shifting into reverse. Also at night the camera is streaky so one is unable to see images in the camera. I noticed there was a recall for the rearview camera but my make/model/year was not included but I am experiencing issues with the rearview camera.
Recent problem with the backup camera on a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid that intermittently shows the image in reverse- right is left and left is right. This is very dangerous when backing up . Ford is aware of the problem and has recalls on other models with the same problem but not ours.
2014 Ford Fusion 4D 2Wd SE Backup camera started when my car was 9 to 10 years old occasionally goes black and show reversed but not upside down. Within 5 months it continually shows images reversed. I attempted to do a software update but since it was over 10 years old at the time I was not allowed to I also spoke to the car dealership and was told that was correct. No recalls on the backup camera I was told I would need to pay between 500 and 1000 dollars to have it fixed. I found a site on the internet that say the 2014 also had a recall but the Ford site does not show my vin indicating that is true.
The rear view mirror and side mirrors become dark after the sun sets and it becomes extremely hard and dangerous to judge vehicles behind you as you try to merge onto any road that has moving traffic.
My rear camera on my 2014 Ford Fusion just stopped working on it's own (noticed on [XXX]). I then researched and found a recall; however, the recall is VIN specific and does not include my vehicle. This is a problem as my camera stopped working and deserves to be fixed as well the others that have already been identified. Shifter Cable bushing and cover Car would not move when putting into drive or reverse. It was the Shifter Cable bushing that had to be replaced. We were told that this issues was covered on OTHER vin number vehicles but not our car. WHY???
Engine coolant leak.
The latch holding the driver door closed failed and the door would not close. This issue has happened before and been addressed by previous recalls but continues to be an issue.
Back-up Camera: The back-up camera works intermittently, or sometimes not at all; On several occasions, the camera went on briefly, showing children approaching the back of the car while backing out of a driveway. Then it goes blank as they walk behind the vehicle. Additionally, when backing into a parking space, the camera displays, then goes blank as soon as the proximity alert warning beep starts to sound. I’m not sure if the “trigger" is the proximity sensors or the steering sensor since the steering wheel is always turned and the warning beeps are always present.
The rear passenger back door latch is out. Has to be replaced because door will not shut an my toddler almost feel out but I caught him.
The lug nuts on my 2014 Ford Fusion have swollen to the point where they cannot be removed with the tool Ford provided or a standard 4 socket iron wrench. This problem is so severe, AAA was unable to remove the lug nuts after I had a flat requiring a tow for repair of tire. Additionally, the lug nits cam become compromised and cause the rim to become fisplaced while driving.
We took the car to the Ford dealer for recalls on 6/26/2023. We noticed the car would jolt or slow down when shifting gears. Also would, on occasion, jolt before stopping. We were told that the transmission needed repairs. The cost could vary from 4k to 7k, which we declined and brought our car home, and it can be inspected upon request. The car has a little over 60k miles, and we consistently serviced it. No warning lights or severe problems before being told our vehicle is not driveable until we repair the transmission.
The backup camera is frequently failing to work, putting the vehicle at increased risk for a rear collision. A message appears on the dashboard screen when the failure occurs that the system is not working.
A NEIGHBOR CAME TO MY DOOR AND TOLD ME MY BREAK LIGHTS WERE ON WHILE THE CAR WAS JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. IT HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN RECENTLY BEFORE THIS WAS REPORTED TO ME. IT IS 24 HOURS LATER AND THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THEM TO TURN OFF. NO WARNING LAMPS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT, THIS CAN CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION TO ME AS THE PERSON FOLLOWING BEHIND CAN NOT TELL THAT I AM COMING TO A STOP. I AM AWARE THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME OF THE 2014 FORD FUSIONS BUT IT APPEARS THAT MINE IS NOT LISED ON THE RECALL. SINCE THIS IS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND (AND THIS CAME TO MY ATTENTION ON A SATURDAY) I WILL BE CALLING FORD GARAGE IN STOCKTON, CA ON TUESDAY MAY 30, 2023 TO PLACE INQUIRY ABOUT THIS.
About a week ago I had to make a 2 hour drive and when I was close to my destination my check engine light came on and started flashing I hooked a code scanner up to it and it was cylender 4 misfire so I replaced the coil pack and the problem stopped. Today I was driving my car and the car stalled on me agian in a parking lot I put the car in park and I turned the car off and when I tryed to start the car agian it had a long crank and then it started i got to the intersection and the car stalled agian so I immediately repeated the steps and it started back up when I came threw the caution light so I could pull over the car stalled agian in the middle of moving traffic with my child in the car.we almost got hit by other vehicles trying to move to safety. The car gave a p000c6 code. Thankfully we made it to safety as this continues to be a issiue with this vehicle and there has been several recals I am requesting that ford fix this issiue
Coolant sensor malfunction. Should let me know when its low. Did not. Had coolant. Sensor never worked properly. Internal engine block burn. Took to a mechanic. Replaced sensor too late. I am so screwed still paying for it.
I receive this message sporadically. It disables the heat and air to my vehicle, also the passenger side front and rear window locks. When it's cold the heat does not work and when it's hot the air does not work. Also, when it rains or if it's a muggy day the windows fog up and I'm unable to defrost them. This is a major hazard. The Climate Control Computer fails to stay on recirculation mode when heating causing driver to press every 15 minutes while driving putting driver and other drivers at risk because of having to look off road while pressing. Ultimate Ford dealership has inspected and attempted to repair the problem but did not during the warranty period. The dealership has barred me from having service completed in the local area within a one-hour drive from my home from merely the fact that they could not repair the problem. Now, several recalls which are not safe on my car cannot be repaired because of their immature behavior. There was no warning about this problem beforehand. No receipts but letter to Ford attached.
Many people (including myself) have problems with 2013 to 2016 ford hybrid transmissions. My transmission fails on the well know 14b07 problem, where bearings fail and the car simply gives you a warning a stops in the middle of the road, luckily I had time to push my car to the side, avoiding an accident. Ford should fix this for free once many customers had the same problem. I took my car to a dealership and the answer was to buy a new transmission for over $7000 dollars. They do not even offer a repair for it.
The fuel door hinge is broken. The fuel door will come open while driving the vehicle. The door is loose and after researching this, it is a common problem for everyone with a 2014 ford fusion.
While commuting to work the car randomly caught fire lost brakes and steering
My sunroof glass is leaking water and rusting. The rusting is so bad it’s flaking off into my hair and my eyes. Please Help me !!!
While driving on the freeway lost control of steering, spun around into traffic when trying to switch lanes, and flipped over multiple times across the freeway without airbag deployment. My passenger and I suffered injury due to this. I am still going to physical therapy for my shoulder. No messages prior to the accident, I made sure to follow all safety precautions and take care of maintenance, and all safety recalls as soon as possible. The car has been sent over to the police and insurance company for further inspection.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light would remain illuminated. Occasionally, the vehicle would lose motive power and stall or not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
The steering wheel catches when turning right and left. It is physically hard to straighten the wheel back out. Upon searching, there are recalls for the steering mechanisms in ford fusions, however my specific vehicle does not come up. I do believe that my vehicle is part of this issue.
Today, I was told by mechanic that all the lug nuts had to be replaced when they attempted to rotate the tires because the lug nuts were swollen. This is costing me $164 in parts and $74.99 in labor.
The car stalls randomly when running at low speeds / low rpms. Scenario: after being parked for extended period of time, like overnight. Drive few miles, 5 to 10 miles and stop at parking lot. Upon re-starting the car and driving slow on the parking lot, the car suddenly lose power and stalls. Need to put on park and crank for about 5 to 10 seconds to restart. Then runs fine. Couple of times was crossing a road from a parking lot and stalled right across the incoming traffic. No engine light. Took to mechanic which could not reproduce the problem.
Trunk pops open randomly. Has had three times that I’m aware of.
[XXX] 11/2/21. I was driving mi kids to the movies on 10/31/21 when suddenly I made a right turn to enter the theater parking lot, and the left rear door open. My daughter was sitting there and tilt to the left while the door was open, she grabbed my seat to hold her self. She was with her seat belt on, and I was entering the parking lot at low speed, which I am very thankful. I already made an appointment with my local Ford dealer for them to fix the problem, but I really can't trust this vehicle anymore. That's a serious safety concern that the doors don't latch to securely close. This is a LEMON CAR and I don't feel safe. I will like to get help with getting this vehicle off my hands and from any other's persons possession, IT'S NOT SAFE! Now I just learned that there's more safety recalls on the vehicle besides the doors not latching. Please help me. While driving the transmission shifts extremely hard. When you accelerate to pass or speed up the car downshifts the RPMs skyrocket and the cars transmission is stuck causing an extremely dangerous situation. Driving down the road the car jerks or RPMs will go up for no reason. The car recently got stuck at n reverse in a parking garage. Backing up the gearshift went into park and the transmission stuck in revers. Took to dealership and was told they didn’t have time to look at it after having cut for a whole day and half after I had yo pay for my own rental car. She said that’s just how the transmission is.
Vehicle locked itself into drive position (Transmission) and will not move to any other shift. Car turned off and now will not turn back off. Had to get help pushing vehicle back into driveway until this can be fixed. Vehicle is now locked in drive mode, engine is off. Will not restart.
My car is hard shifting, doesn't pick up on speed and has a whining noise coming underneath the hood of the car. My fluid levels are bad the fluid is black I got the 5 quarts replaced but there is still black fluid in the rest of the transmission. Is that causing my car to still mess up?
While driving on the highway last week at around 65 mph (10 minutes into my commute), my car display sensor started indicating that there was a door that became loose and unlatched. I had nobody in the car with me and noticed that the passenger front door popped loose and needed to be pushed closed. I have not seen the incident occur a second time, not has it been inspected.
It has been reported that the battery in the trunk of the vehicle caught fire and melted down. It is unknown if the vehicle was being operated at the time of the incident. It is unknown if there is a fire or police report available. This is a U.S. Government vehicle owned by GSA and the vehicle is self insured by the government. There was an estimate written by a repair facility and the vehicle has been determined a total loss.
I was driving around a 2 lane roundabout when my cars steering wheel lost power steering causing me to Swerve into outside Lane almost hitting another vehicle. There were no other warning lights on before this happened but after the incident I had a steering assist, hill top and advanced traction control lights come on. And now have no power steering
While at drive through at Smoothie King, brakes just went out WITH NO WARNING. I had to press the brake pedal all the way to the ground and the car eventually stopped. Noone was hurt, no property or car was damaged (thank goodness) Slowly drove in parking lot and called wife to meet me. Then the indicator "Low brake fluid" flashed. Took other car to auto parts, purchase brake fluid. Went back to car, poured brake fluid in car. Did not help as still had to press brake pedal all the way to floor. Saw puddle of brake fluid on ground. Searched online and saw same issue on Ford Fusion reported as there was no warning. Some people got into an accident, others did not. When I called Ford today at 8:48 am, rep said VIN # not on recall but said there have been brake issues but my VIN # is not on recall. I do not want to pay for the cost as I would have to have the car towed to the Ford shop. I am being proactive to have it reported so it can be repaired at no cost like all of the recalls on my car.
On June 15th, 2021 The APM module stopped working as well as the audio control module in my 2014 Ford fusion. The radio did not work. The phone remained connected, I could call out, people could dial in, people could hear me but I could not hear them. Since my hands-free device no longer worked that put me at a safety risk. I am currently paying for the dealer to replace the APIM module, and they have already replaced the audio control module at my cost. The component is under recall for multiple other Ford Models. There has been a technical safety bulletin on it for my model and they have replaced it up to six years. Mine did not go out until the 7th year.

THE BUSHING SHIFTER HAS CAUSED THE GEAR TO BE IN PARK WHILE THE DASHBOARD SAYS REVERSE. THE CAR WON'T START AND WITHOUT EMERGENCY BREAKS IT ROLLS. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE ALONG WITH 3 OTHER RECALLS. THE CAR WAS IN A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED AT LOW MILEAGE. RESEARCH SHOWED THIS A HUGE ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS OF THE FORD FUSION 2013-2015. SIMILAR TO ENGINE PROBLEMS, TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ARE THE LAST THING ANY DRIVER WOULD LIKE TO DEAL WITH. THIS IS BECAUSE IT COSTS A LOT OF MONEY ON REPAIR AND REQUIRES A CERTAIN SKILL SET TO GET IT FIXED. UNFORTUNATELY, 2014 FORD FUSION TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WERE THE THIRD MOST REPORTED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. IN GENERAL, THE PROBLEMS WERE RELATED TO ISSUES WITH SHIFTING, COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, AND TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING. MANY OWNERS OF VEHICLES AROUND 28,000 MILES REPORTED ROUGH TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ALONG WITH TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, WHICH IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS MILEAGE OF THIS VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM WAS MOSTLY RESOLVED BY EITHER REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION OR PERFORMING A GLOBAL RESET. THE AVERAGE REPAIR COST FOR TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WAS ABOUT $750. AT LEAST TWO OWNERS REPORTED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE OF THEIR 73,000 MILES VEHICLES. THE OWNERS MENTIONED THAT THEY PERFORMED REGULAR MAINTENANCE TO THE VEHICLE, AND THEY DID NOT SEE ANY WARNING SIGNS THAT COULD POINT THEM TO DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE COMPLETE FAILURE. THE OWNERS DID NOT INCLUDE INFORMATION ABOUT REPAIR OPTIONS OR REPAIR COSTS. LASTLY, A COUPLE OF OWNERS INDICATED FRUSTRATION FROM TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING EVERY TIME THEY DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THEY MENTIONED THAT THE SHUTTERING FADES OUT AFTER THEY DRIVE FOR A LONG TIME. HOWEVER, THE SHUDDERING BECOMES MORE SEVERE WHEN THEY SWITCH FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR VISE VERSA. UNFORTUNATELY, TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING OCCURRED AT RELATIVELY NEW VEHICLES AROUND 5,000 MILES.
MY CAR RAN HOT ON ME FOR THE FIRST TIME. I ADDED COOLANT AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. HAD TO GET VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS COOLANT INTRUSION. THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN A LOT OF VEHICLES THAT DID THE SAME THING. THE MAN AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT GET ABOUT ONE VEHICLE A WEEK THIS HAPPENS. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. I WAS GOING THE SPEED OF ABOUT 55 MILES AN HOUR. IT STARTED LOSING SPEED AND JUST DIED ON ME WHEN I GOT TO THE STOP SIGN AT THE END OF THE ROAD.
MY BACK UP CAMERA CONTINUOUSLY STOPS WORKING. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. FROM A SITTING POSITION WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE MOST TIMES THE BACK UP CAM WILL COME ON AND STAY ON FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN GO TO A BLACK SCREEN AND SOMETIMES STAY BLACK AND OTHER TIMES CRAZY IMAGES WILL COME UP. IT ALMOST APPEARS TO HAVE SOME SORT OF SHORT IN IT CAUSING THIS TO OCCUR. FOR SEVERAL YEARS IT WORKED PROPERLY, NOW EVERY TIME I PLACE IN REVERSE IT IS A GUESSING GAME AS TO WHETHER IT WILL WORK AT ALL.
MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED INA ACCIDENT 11/25/2019 WHICHI RESULTEED IN A DDER HITTING THE CAR. THE CARS BODY WAS REPAIRED AS WELL AS THE RADIATOR AND THEN MARCH 2020. THE CAR SHUT COMPLETED DOWN. I WAS ADVISED TO CHECK TO SEE IF THIS WAS RECALL BECAUSE THE CAR NEVER WORKED AFTER THE DEER HIT IT. THE COOLANT CONTIUED TO BACK INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING COOLANT INTRUSION INTO THE CYLINDERS. EACH TIME WE PUT MORE IN IT RAN OUT OR INTO THE ENGINE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY, MY 2014 FORD FUSION 2.0L ECOBOOST STARTS TO OVERHEAT. WHILE TRYING TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO INCREASE THE SPEED, THE CAR TAKES A WHILE TO INCREASE THE SPEED AND AT THE SAME TIME THE TEMPARATURE GAUGE IS GOING UP AS WELL UNTIL I GET THE OVERHEATING NOTIFICATION ON MY CAR. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN MY DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHILE THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME. I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE FREEWAY AND EXITED ON THE FIRST EXIT I SEE. I STOPPED ON A CURB OF A STREET AND OPENED THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO CHECK WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT AND I SAW THAT THERE ARE COOLANT ALL OVER MY ENGINE AND THAT MY COOLANT LEVEL WAS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I FILLED IT UP ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. I HAD TO REFILL MY COOLANT A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN THE MAX LEVEL. I TRIED MY BEST TO DRIVE BACK HOME CAREFULLY AND JUST TOOK THE STREETS. I CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL ABOUT 4-5 MILES LATER AND NOTICED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WENT DOWN A ABOUT 1/4 OF AN INCH BELOW THE MAX LEVEL. THE OVERHEATING STARTED TO HAPPEN WHEN THE TEMPERATURE STARTED TO RISE UP OVER 100 DEGREES BUT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME TODAY(08/25/2020) THAT IT SPLATTERED COOLANT ALL OVER MY ENGINE. THERE WAS ALSO NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM PURGE VAPOR LINE RESTRICTED/BLOCKED. IT WAS FIXED BY FIVE STAR FORD OF WARNER ROBINS, GA FOR $924.
WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION LEAVING A WALMART, THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED AND NOW WONT CLOSE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH IN THE 13-14 FORD FUSIONS AND OTHERS THAT WERE RECALLED BUT NOT FOR MY VIN? THE AC CLUTCH FELL OUT OF MY CAR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING THE AC TO GO OUT. MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE BOLT THAT WAS 'HOLDING' THIS PART IN WAS STILL THERE BUT CLUTCH WAS MISSING AND TORE THE BELT. SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT.
NO ENGINE LIGHT ON OR WARNING.. LOST POWER WILL DRIVING. WILL STUTTER THEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT ISN'T ON AND THEY DON'T HAVE A CODE. I HAVE READ MANY OTHERS FORD FUSIONS HAVING THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. IT IS VERY SCARY AND MAKES ME TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR ANYWHERE. IT'S DOES THIS A FEW TIMES NOW!
DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND IT WOULDN'T LATCHED OR CLOSED. I HAD TO TIE A ROPE TO DRIVE IT TO DEALERSHIP.
THE 2014 FORD FUSION THAT I HAVE HAS BEEN CUTTING COMPLETELY OFF WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY INTERSECTION, LEAVING MYSELF, CHILDREN AND OTHERS IN A HIGH POSITION TO BE SEVERLY INJURED EVEN KILLED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND VERY CONCERNING AND THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THEY CAN NOT FIND AN ISSUE BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN THERE ARE NO ALERTS OR WARNING SIGNS COMING ON. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT ALL TIMES WHEN IT CUTS OFF THERE IS NO WARNING NO ALERTS NOTHING IT JUST CUTS OFF ON HIGHWAY ON BUSY INTERSECTIONS ITS VERY ALARMING AND DANGEROUS. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PEOPLE ON A GOOGLE SEARCH THAT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE I AM HAVING AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND PROMPT A MESSAGE THAT SAYS TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. I HAD TO COAST MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD PUT MY CAR IN PARK, TURN THE IGNITION OFF THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND MAKE SURE EACH GEAR WAS SHIFTING.
BOTH DOOR LATCHES ON DRIVER SIDE HAVE BROKEN PREVENTING THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. THEY HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED. FOUND RECALLS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES BUT THIS WAS EXEMPT. BELIEVE THE ISSUE TO BE BROADER THAN THE RECALL DETAILED.

I WAS PARKED FILLING MY CAR WITH GAS. WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN, IT WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. THE REASON I WAS GIVEN AFTER HAVING THE CAR INSPECTED WAS AS FOLLOWS: THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING AT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS COPLETELY GONE. FOUND SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WORN TO THE POINT THAT IT SEPERATED FROM THE SHIFT CABLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR THE MODEL OF MY FUSION. THE RECALL NUMBER FOR OTHER FUSION MODELS IS 18V471000 WITH A RECALL DATE OF 7/16/2018. FORD'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS LISTED AS 18S20. BECAUSE THIS RECALL IS FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM I HAD WITH MY FUSION, I BELIEVE MY MODEL NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND THIS TIME THEY STATED IT WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND THAT THE PART WAS COVERED. AFTER WE WERE TOLD THE PART WAS COVERED THE DEALERSHIP CALLED US BACK AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED. I GOOGLED THIS PARTICULAR CAR AND NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND ALSO GIVEN THE RUN AROUND ABOUT NOT KNOWING WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHAT HAPPENED WAS THE DORMAN THAT IS ON THE GEAR SHIFT UNDER MY HOOD HAD CHIPPED AWAY, CAUSING THE GEAR SHIFT ARM TO POP OFF. I REPLACED THE DORMAN, AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH.. A WEEK AGO IT POPPED OFF AGAIN AS I ATTEMPT TO SHIFT GEARS AND HAS POPPED OFF EVERYDAY, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, ALMOST EVERY TRIP I MAKE BUT THIS TIME THE SMALL CREAM PIECE THAT HELPS ENGAGE IT IS THERE, INTACT, AND NOT WORN AT ALL. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO PULL MY EBRAKE TO PARK MY CAR, GET OUT AND POP THE HOOD AND READJUST THE ARM AND GEAR SHIFT AND REATTACH IT SO THAT I CAN GET MY CAR INTO THE GEAR I NEED IT IN.

ONLY DIDN'T BECAUSE IT GOT CAUGHT IN THE ENGINE SPLASH PAN. AFTER SEARCHING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM NOT ONLY ON THE FORD FUSON, BUT ALSO ON F SERIES TRUCKS, AND THE FORD MUSTANG.
I PUT CAR IN PARK. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER. LOOKED AT CAR DISPLAY AND IT SAID 'CAR NOT IN GEAR'. THE DIGITAL READ OUT SHOWED CAR IN PARK. I HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THEY SAID GEAR CABLE WAS BROKEN. COST ME $585 TO REPAIR. GEAR ON THE RADIO THAT TRUCKS AND SUV BEING RECALLED FOR SAME ISSUE AT NO COST. WHY WAS THE FUSION LEFT OFFF THIS RECALL?
STARTING IN OCTOBER 2017, IMMEDIATELY AFTER I UPDATED THE SYNC SOFTWARE IN MY CAR, THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN MY IPHONE AND MY CAR STOPPED WORKING. PREVIOUSLY I COULD SAY "HEY, SIRI!" AND THE CAR WOULD ACTIVATE MY CAR'S MICROPHONE SO THAT THE PHONE COULD HEAR MY COMMANDS. AFTER THE UPDATE I CANNOT TALK TO MY PHONE BECAUSE THE CAR DOES NOT ACTIVATE ITS MIC AND THE PHONE MIC IS COVERED BY THE CRADLE. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD RECENTLY I WAS TOLD THAT FORD HAS REMOVED THIS FEATURE BECAUSE "THE CAR HAS ITS OWN VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM" (SYNC) AND THAT FORD DOES NOT SUPPORT REVERTING TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF THE SYNC FIRMWARE. CLEARLY FORD WANTS TO "OWN" THE CUSTOMER BUY REMOVING INTEGRATION WITH PHONE VOICE FEATURES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I CANNOT NO LONGER ACCESS PHONE FEATURES NOT SUPPORTED BY SYNC HANDS-FREE. CARS WITH ADVANCED ELECTRONICS ARE ALREADY KNOWN TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND THIS MAKES IT WORSE. THIS CHANGE WAS DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT, WHICH IS A SEPARATE ISSUE, WHICH I WILL PURSUE WITH THE FTC.

TURNED OUT THE BOLT HOLDING THE A/C CLUTCH PLATE VIBRATED OFF RESULTING IN MY CLUTCH PLATE TO LAND ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HOOD.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL OUTSTANDING SINCE LAST YEAR (RECALL 15S16- DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000). I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL FORD DEALERS AND THEY ALL TELL ME THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT FOR A FIX FOR SUCH A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DEFECT.
HEADLINER FALLING. THE HEADLINER IS FALLING AT THE EDGE OF THE DOORS AND ALL AROUND THE SUNROOF. IT SAGGED SO BADLY BEHIND THE SUNROOF THAT IT DETACHED FROM THE ROOF AND WAS BLOCKING MY REAR VIEW IN THE MIRROR. WORRIED THAT IT COULD FALL AWAY FROM ROOF COMPLETELY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I CAN HEAR "WATER" SLOSHING WHEN STARTING, STOPPING AND TURNING CORNER. WHEN I SLOW DOWN THE HEATER BLOWER COOLS. WHEN I STOP, THE DRIVERS SIDE COOLS MORE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE IS LIKE HAVING VENTS OPEN IN WINTER. THERE ARE NOT DUAL AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. THE RADIATOR FLUID IS COMPLETELY FULL.

CALLED DEALERSHIP AND FORD SERVICE AND AM INFORMED NO RECALL ISSUED FOR MY VIN NUMBER.
WHILE DRIVING I COULD SMELL WIRES BURNING I STOPPED THE CAR RAISED THE HOOD NOTHING FOUND GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND THE WIRES GOING TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WERE ON FIRE QUICKLY I GRABBED A GLOVE AND SMOTHERED IT OUT OR THE CAR WOULD HAVE BURNED.
THE RIGHT SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH BROKE AND THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TO TIE THE DOOR SHUT TO GET TO THE DEALER. THANKFULLY MY SON WAS SECURELY IN A CAR SEAT BECAUSE HE SITS NEXT TO THIS DOOR. DEALER STATES THAT MY SPECIFIC CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE TO PAY $540 FOR THE LATCH.
DRIVER SIDE REAR BLISS SENSOR WILL EITHER INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT WHEN NOTHING IS THERE OR FAIL TO INDICATE A VEHICLE IS IN THE BLIND SPOT WHEN PRESENT. DUE TO THIS FAILURE, IT CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO DRIVER NOT SEEING THE CAR AND THE BLISS LIGHT IS NOT ON EVEN THOUGH A CAR IS THERE. PROBLEM STARTED AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2015 AND I SHOWED DEALER VIDEOS OF PROBLEM AND DEALER SAID NO ERROR CODES SO CANNOT FIX.
RIGHT REAR BLINDSPOT SENSOR WILL EITHER INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT WHEN THERE IS NONE OR FAIL TO INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT. THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF A BLINDSPOT SENSOR IS TO INDICATE THE PRESENCE OF A VEHICLE IN THE VISIBLE BLINDSPOT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE TAKING VEHICLE DELIVERY IN JUNE OF 2014 AND HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER ON 3 OCCASIONS WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN FOR ROUTINE SERVICE.
I BELIEVE, USING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN VOICE-INTERACTIVE MODE WHILE DRIVING, IS VERY HAZARDOUS. IT REQUIRES VOICE ANSWERS WHICH ARE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN. HENCE, TOO MUCH EYE CONTACT (THUS DIVERTING THE DRIVER'S EYES FROM THE ROAD) IN DETERMINING WHAT RESPONSES ARE RECOGNIZABLE AND ACCEPTABLE.
WE LIVE IN NV AND PURCHASED OUR 2014 FORD FUSION ON 2/29/16 (WAS CORPORATE FLEET VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 20K MILEAGE AND STILL HAVE MFG. WARRANTY COVERAGE). WE ARE STARTING TO EXPERIENCE SOME WARM DAYS WHERE WE TURNED THE AIR CONDITIONER ON, AND WE HEAR A GURGLING SOUND (LIKE WATER IS RUNNING) WHILE DRIVING. TO AVOID A MAJOR ISSUE BEFORE IT GETS WARMER, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER YESTERDAY (3/21) BUT DUE TO THEIR HAVING A BACKLOG, THEY WERE UNABLE TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE CAR YET THEY KEPT THE CAR ALL AFTERNOON. THEN THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP IT TILL THE NEXT DAY. WE CHOSE TO GO GET THE CAR AND TAKE IT BACK TODAY (3/22). THE SERVICE MGR. CALLED THIS MORNING LETTING ME KNOW THAT THE "WATER RUNNING SOUND" IS NORMAL IN THE 2014 MODEL. THEN HE STATED WITH A CHUCKLE THE SOUND IS "LIKE LITTLE ROACHES RUNNING AROUND IN THE DASHBOARD" AND HIS SERVICE TECH FOUND DOCUMENTATION ISSUED BY FORD ENGINEERING CONFIRMING THIS SOUND IS NORMAL. MIND YOU THIS PERSON IS A PROFESSIONAL....HE MAKES A COMMENT AS THIS! I LET HIM KNOW WE HAD PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2007 FORD FUSION AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE. HE HAD NOTHING TO SAY. I FIND HIS COMMENT SOMEWHAT COMICAL BUT VERY INSULTING; AND I ASKED HIM TO EMAIL ME THE DOCUMENTATION. IMMEDIATELY I CALLED THE SALESMAN AND HE IS GOING TO CHECK INTO THIS FURTHER AND GET BACK TO ME. MEANTIME I HAVE FOUND ZILCH ABOUT THE ISSUE.
I PURCHASED THE FORD FOCUS IN JUNE OF 2014. I AM NOW 80 YEARS OLD AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE MY LAST CAR. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I EXPERIENCED STUTTERING ON ACCELERATION WHICH CAUSES AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHEN DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. AT TIMES, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP. VERY FRIGHTENING WHEN THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD ON DECELERATION. NEITHER DOES IT HOLD PROPERLY ON A HILL, AND IT CAN ALSO MAKE A GRINDING SOUND IN THE LOWER GEARS ON TAKE OFF. THESE CONDITIONS PRESENT A SAFETY THREAT BECAUSE IT AFFECTS MY ABILITY TO CONTROL THE CAR ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2010 AND HAS TAKEN NO ACTION TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. IT APPEARS IT WOULD BE INCUMBENT ON THE SELLING DEALERSHIP TO DISCLOSE THIS DEFECT ON PURCHASE. I WAS FINALLY INFORMED OF THE PROBLEM AT THE FIRST SERVICE WHEN I COMPLAINED. THIS IS PURE AND SIMPLE NON DISCLOSURE WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN SALES OF ANY KIND. I HAVE HAD MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES COMPLAINING OF THE PROBLEM OF THIS PROBLEM AND EACH TIME THEY RUN SOME SOFTWARE WHICH USUALLY MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE OR CREATES AND ADDITIONAL PROBLEM. NOT ONLY IS THIS A SAFEY ISSUE, BUT IT HAS ALSO CREATED A LOSS OF VALUE FOR RESALE AND UNTOLD HOURS OF SITTING IN A SHOWROOM WHILE THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO FIX WHAT CANNOT BE FIXED. I HAVE TRIED TO WORK WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO SUCCESS.
THE CHARGER (SHORELINE) NEARLY CAUSED A HOUSE FIRE. THE CHARGER OVERHEATS AT THE WALL SOCKET. IT IS NOT THE WALL SOCKET BECAUSE I TRIED IT ON A COMMERCIAL OUTLET ON A NEW 20A CIRCUIT BREAKER. THE ONLINE CHAT ROOMS ARE FULL OF CONCERNS ABOUT THIS. I CALLED FORD AND THEY DID NOT SEEM TO TAKE THE CONCERN SERIOUSLY AT ALL. THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, TURNED OFF AND CHARGING.
THERE IS A TERRIBLE NOISE INSIDE THE CAR WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN, IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A MILITARY HELICOPTER IN THE CAR WITH YOU. FROM DEALER TO FORD, THEY SAY IT IS "NORMAL" IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE LOUD NOISE AND VIBRATION INSIDE THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALSO THE RADIO DOES NOT TUNE ALL THE FM RADIO STATIONS? WHY? I AM TOLD THIS IS NORMAL AS WELL AND MINE ISN'T THE ONLY CAR THAT HAS THESE PROBLEMS.
I TOOK MY CAR IN TO FORD FOR SERVICE ON DECEMBER 23, 2015. IT RECEIVED ALL GOOD MARKS INCLUDING NO SAFETY ISSUES. ON DECEMBER 26, 2015 I PARKED MY CAR AND WENT SHOPPING. WHEN I RETURNED, MY LEFT MIRROR WAS OUT OF THE PROGRAMMED POSITION. ONCE I STARTED THE CAR, THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM DEFAULT AND CROSS TRAFFIC SYSTEM DEFAULT WARNINGS ILLUMINATED. I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD FOR SERVICE. THERE WAS AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM LOCATED WITHIN THE MIRROR THAT WENT BAD FOR NO REASON. THIS MADE THE DETECTION SYSTEMS MALFUNCTION. THE ENTIRE MIRROR UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IT WOULD COST OVER $500.00 US TO REPLACE.
THE REAR RIGHT DOOR LATCH COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT THE DOOR NOW FREELY FLIES OPEN. VERY UNSAFE. THERE WAS A LARGE RECALL ON MANY FORD FUSIONS FOR EXACTLY THIS REASON BUT NOT YET THIS MODEL.
TROUBLE WITH TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. WAS TOLD FORD PUT IN MANUAL CLUTCH IN AUTOMATIC CARS. HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION, ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN IN DRIVE ON INCLINE, DOES NOT SHIFT RIGHT, "CHUGS". PURCHASED 2014 CAR IN EARLY 2015, USED. FEEL CAR SALES BUSINESS SHOULD HAVE KNOWN AND NOT SOLD CAR IN THIS CONDITION, OR HAVE HAD IT FIXED FIRST. PER FORD SERVICE STATION, PARTS ARE ON BACKLOG FOR 3-4 MONTHS. EVEN THOUGH THEY TELL ME IS IT NOT A DANGEROUS CONDITION, I FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAY WHEN TRYING TO PASS AND NOT GETTING ENOUGH ACCELERATION.
AFTER FILL UP SLOW IN PARKING LOT HEAR WHAT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD WHEEL BEARING FROM R REAR. CHECKED OUT OTHER COMPLAINTS FOUND FORD WILL REPLACE SOME MORE EXPENSIVE MODEL FUEL TANKS NOT MINE.WAS TOLD TO LIVE WITH IT . THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FROM FORD SAME YEAR AS MINE . I HAVE A BASE MODEL SO I DON'T QUALIFY . IT'S TRUE IT'S A BRAND NEW CAR! $23,000 IT COST ME .
