Your airbag warning light stays on constantly and won't turn off. When this light is on, your air conditioning, heat, and defroster stop working. A mechanic has indicated there's a problem with the clock spring, which has been an ongoing issue for years. If the airbag light remains illuminated, the airbag system may not deploy in a head-on collision, creating a serious safety risk.

Your driver's side airbag warning light stays on after you start the vehicle. A mechanic found the airbag itself is faulty and needs replacement, but the dealer says this part has been discontinued and is no longer available from the manufacturer. This means your driver's side airbag may not deploy properly in a crash.

Your airbag warning light stays on constantly. This may be related to a known Takata airbag recall (NHTSA campaign 13V176000). You haven't had the vehicle diagnosed or repaired yet. The issue appeared around 117,000 miles. A dealer inspection and likely airbag system repair or replacement will be needed to resolve this.

Your clock spring (the component that connects your steering wheel to the airbag system) is shorting out and disrupting power to your air conditioning, heating, and blower motor. This electrical short could potentially cause other systems to malfunction as well. Fixing this will require replacing the clock spring and possibly diagnosing other electrical components for damage.

Your speedometer and odometer don't work, and your car won't start or turn over—the engine won't crank at all. You're also experiencing constant alarm activation that you had to disable by disconnecting the horn and pulling a relay. The anti-theft system appears to be activated, and based on your research, the wireless control module or Sentry key immobilizer system may be the underlying cause. This will likely require professional diagnostic work and possible replacement of the immobilizer control module or key fob receiver unit.

Your ignition key gets stuck and won't come out of the ignition switch. While your vehicle starts normally, it won't shut off properly because the key is trapped inside. You may have to wait several hours before the key finally releases and you can turn off the vehicle completely. The fix will likely involve replacing or repairing the ignition switch assembly.

Your passenger mirror has become cloudy due to the automatic defroster mechanism, which caused it to fail state safety inspection. The cloudiness has developed over several years and isn't from any accident damage. Replacing the mirror will likely cost around $500.

Your car won't start when you press the ignition button, and this happens randomly without warning. Even with a new battery installed, the problem persists—sometimes you have to wait an unpredictable amount of time before the engine will crank and start. The issue has also caused your car to stall while driving, making it unreliable for trips since you can't predict when it will fail to start or shut off.

Your car's ignition key became stuck and wouldn't turn properly when you tried to start it while parked. The key would get stuck intermittently in the ignition cylinder, though no warning lights appeared on your dashboard. You discovered this matches a known electrical system issue (NHTSA Campaign 14V567000), but your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in that recall. The fix will likely involve replacing or servicing the ignition cylinder and electrical contacts.

Your Jeep's WIN module (wireless ignition node) has failed, which controls your vehicle's ignition and starting system. This could prevent your car from starting or cause intermittent starting problems. The module will likely need to be replaced to restore normal operation.

Your vehicle is stalling unexpectedly while driving at various speeds and sometimes fails to start. You'll see an electronic throttle warning light on the dashboard when this happens. Your airbag warning light came on, and a shop diagnosed a problem with the driver's airbag squib (ignition mechanism) or clockspring in your steering column. You found a recall (NHTSA Campaign ID 09V118000) that covers this exact issue for 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokees and should be repaired free of charge, but the Chrysler dealership told you there's no recall on your vehicle and you'd have to pay out of pocket. The recall specifically covers wiring problems that could prevent the driver's airbag from deploying properly in a crash. The repair involves inspecting the airbag squib wires and replacing the steering column control module.

Your vehicle has shut off completely three times without warning—twice while you were driving and once while your daughter was driving. When this happens, you hear a clicking sound, all electrical systems (radio, lights, etc.) cut out, and the engine dies, causing the vehicle to slow down. After stopping and waiting a moment, the vehicle restarts normally, but this unpredictable shutdown poses a serious safety risk. The issue likely involves either a faulty alternator not charging the battery or a bad battery connection that's causing complete electrical failure.

Your key fob gets stuck in the ignition and won't release properly—you sometimes have to hit above the ignition or wait an hour for it to eject. After the dealership mentioned replacing the WIN module, you've noticed the radio stays on after removing the key, dashboard lights remain lit, and the car acts like the key is still inserted. More concerning, while driving your car has started glitching with strange sounds from the computer and has powered down completely, leaving the battery dead and unable to start even with a jump. The electrical system may need complete diagnosis and repair of the ignition module and related wiring, possibly including battery replacement.

Your Jeep is running but experiencing electrical problems that are causing it to shut down while driving. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention, as unexpected engine shutdowns while on the road create a safety hazard. The problem likely involves the electrical system or engine control components and may require diagnostic testing to identify the root cause.

Your key fob falls out of the ignition when you hit bumps, causing the engine to shut off completely and leaving you without power steering or brakes. Additionally, your key sometimes gets stuck and won't release from the ignition, forcing you to leave the car running, which has drained your battery multiple times. The key usually releases after you hear a clicking noise. This ignition switch may need to be replaced or repaired to fix both the retention issue and the electrical contact problem.
