NHTSA Campaign: 14V438000
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH
This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, drivers should adjust their seat to allow clearance between the driver's knee and the ignition key, and remove all items from their key ring, leaving only the vehicle key. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 11, 2004, to July 5, 2007, and 2006-2007 Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured January 31, 2005, to July 5, 2007. In the affected vehicles, the driver may accidentally hit the ignition key with their knee, unintentionally knocking the key out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Risk: If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the OFF or ACCESSORY position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch, free of charge. Chrysler sent interim notifications to owners in September 2014. The recall began on October 9, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P41.
NHTSA Campaign: 09E012000
Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.
Risk: DECREASED LIGHTING VISIBILITY MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Fix: SABERSPORT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER A FULL REFUND FOR THE NONCOMPLIANT COMBINATION LAMPS. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 11, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SABERSPORT AT 1-909-598-7589.
NHTSA Campaign: 13V175000
Component: POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE)
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 11, 2004, through March 9, 2010; and 2006-2010 Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured January 31, 2005, through March 10, 2010. A transfer case electrical failure may result in an unintentional shifting of the transfer case into the neutral position.
Risk: If the vehicle shifts into neutral, it may roll away increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the final drive controller which governs the transfer case, with new software, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N23.
NHTSA Campaign: 09E039000
Component: SUSPENSION
ROCK KRAWLER IS RECALLING 44 PERFORMANCE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON THE VEHICLE LISTED ABOVE. THESE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS WERE PRODUCED WITH GRADE 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS INSTEAD OF THE PROPER GRADE 5 CARRIAGE BOLTS. THE IMPROPER GRADE 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS COULD EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF CLAMPING FORCE FOR THE BOTTOM STRUT FORK.
Risk: THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF EFFECTIVE LIFT AND LOWERING OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLE, POSSIBLY CREATING THE DRIVER TO PANIC WHICH COULD POSSIBLY LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH.
Fix: ROCK KRAWLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND PROVIDE A FREE REMEDY. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 15. 2008. ALL THE AFFECTED UNTITS HAVE BEEN REMEDIED. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ROCK KRAWLER AT 1-518-270-9822.

Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE MAY CAUSE THE REAR BRAKES TO LOCK UP DURING CERTAIN BRAKING CONDITIONS.
Risk: THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Fix: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 19, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
NHTSA Campaign: 07V415000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS IN A CERTAIN LOT MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED FROM GRAY IRON INSTEAD OF DUCTILE IRON AS DESIGNED AND COULD FRACTURE WITHOUT WARNING.
Risk: THIS WOULD INCREASE THE VEHICLE'S STOPPING DISTANCE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH.
Fix: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS TO SEE IF THEY FALL INTO THIS LOT AND, IF SO, WILL REPLACE THEM FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 22, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
NHTSA Campaign: 07V434000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMMED INTO THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE MAY ALLOW A MOMENTARY DELAY IN BRAKING WHEN COASTING UP A HILL DURING CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
Risk: THIS COULD CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Fix: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WITH NEW SOFTWARE THAT PREVENTS THIS CONDITION FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 22, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

Your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee is losing power while driving at various speeds and occasionally stalling when idling. This problem happened even after a previous recall repair was completed, and it continued to occur even after replacing the crankshaft sensor. The dealer said replacement parts weren't available, and an aftermarket temporary fix didn't resolve the issue either. You may need further electrical system diagnosis to identify the underlying cause, possibly involving the crankshaft sensor circuit or related electrical connections.

Your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee sometimes fails to start and requires multiple attempts to get it running. You're also seeing several warning lights on the dashboard that you can't identify. The dealer has looked at it multiple times but couldn't reproduce the problem or find the cause. Since your vehicle was previously repaired under a recall for electrical system issues, this problem may be related to that earlier repair. The fix will likely involve the dealer diagnosing the electrical system, battery, and starter components to find and repair the root cause.

Your Jeep has had trouble starting off and on for over 5 years, and multiple repair attempts haven't fixed the problem. The issue keeps coming back, making it unreliable to start your vehicle consistently. A thorough electrical diagnosis is needed to find the root cause, which could involve testing the battery, starter motor, or charging system components.

Your Jeep randomly won't start, leaving you stranded. You've already had the battery, relays, fuses, and starter checked or replaced, and the fuel pump and filter inspected, but the problem keeps happening. This may be related to a known ignition switch issue that affected similar Jeep models, though your 2007 hasn't been recalled for this problem. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and possibly replacing the ignition switch.

Your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't start when you press the START button. You believe this might be related to a previous recall repair (NHTSA Campaign 14V438000) performed on your electrical system. Since your vehicle is out of warranty, the dealer says you'd be responsible for towing and repair costs. The issue occurred at around 142,000 miles.

While pulling into a gas station, you tried to brake with your right foot instead of your left, but your foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the accelerator, causing you to hit a pole. You mention this may be related to a work accident you had a couple weeks before, which could have affected your ability to use your left foot.

Your Jeep randomly shuts off while driving at highway speeds, then restarts with very high RPMs, causing your steering, lights, and brakes to lock up temporarily — this is a serious safety hazard that five mechanics haven't been able to diagnose. You're also experiencing intermittent electrical issues where your radio, backup camera, and gauges won't work until you turn the engine off, remove the key, and restart it multiple times. The problem appears to be an electrical system malfunction that requires diagnostic testing to identify the root cause, possibly involving the battery, alternator, or main electrical connections.

Service Brakes, Hydraulic →1 issue
Your front brakes are separating while driving, which means they're not working properly and could fail. You also noticed the airbag warning light turned on. Your dealer said the vehicle isn't covered by a recall, even though you believe this issue matches a known safety campaign. The vehicle hasn't been repaired yet.

Unknown Or Other,structure →1 issue
Your car's interior door handles are broken and won't open the doors from inside — you have to open them from outside. The handles are made of cheap plastic that fails easily. This is a serious safety concern because if you're trapped in an emergency (like a fire or flooding), you won't be able to get out quickly, especially if you have children in the car. Fixing this likely involves replacing the interior door handle assemblies with new ones.

Electrical System,air Bags →1 issue
While driving at 50 mph, your instrument panel and radio suddenly stopped working. After parking overnight, you discovered that the passenger-side airbag had deployed on its own, even though there was no crash. The dealer told you this is a known issue caused by a faulty computer or software module. The airbag deployment without an accident is a serious safety concern that needs immediate attention.

Electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your Jeep randomly loses all power while driving—on the highway, at traffic lights, or in town—with no warning lights on the dashboard. The engine shuts off completely, then restarts after a minute or so. You've also noticed the dashboard display won't light up, the radio plays intermittently, and power windows move up and down on their own and stop halfway. This is a serious safety concern since you lose power steering and brakes when the engine cuts out. The dealer couldn't reproduce the problem, but the underlying electrical issue likely needs diagnosis of the battery, alternator, or engine control module.

Electrical System,exterior Lighting →1 issue
Your car won't turn off while driving — you have to pull over, remove the key completely, reinsert it, and try starting it multiple times by moving the key back and forth before it starts. Your headlights stay on constantly and blink even when the engine is shut off. A check engine scan indicates an anti-theft ignition system problem.

Tires →1 issue
While driving at 70 mph, your rear passenger tire suddenly blew out at the sidewall, even though your tire pressure monitoring system didn't warn you beforehand. The tire manufacturer later claimed a small pinhole caused a slow leak, but you experienced an abrupt failure. The tire had only 4,000 miles of use on it.

Engine →1 issue
Your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalled without warning while you were trying to accelerate from a stop sign. The dealer found loose wires, and an independent mechanic suspected a faulty ignition switch, but the issue couldn't be reliably reproduced. The vehicle was never officially diagnosed or repaired, leaving the stalling problem unresolved. You may need to have the ignition switch and engine wiring connections inspected and tightened or replaced.

Electrical System, unknown Or Other →1 issue
While driving, your dashboard lights flicker on and off repeatedly—including warning lights for seatbelt, check engine, brakes, and tire pressure. During these flickers, your gauges (gas, RPM, speedometer) drop to zero as if the car were turned off, even though you're driving at highway speeds. This started happening occasionally about 5 months ago, but recently occurred 15 times during a short 7-9 mile drive. The issue likely involves a loose or failing electrical connection, bad battery terminal, or alternator problem that needs diagnostic testing.

Exterior Lighting,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
During a vehicle inspection, several issues were discovered: your Jeep has a small gas leak, your turn signal lights aren't working, your brake lights aren't working, and your vehicle is showing emission system and diagnostic faults. These problems should be addressed to ensure safe operation and pass emissions testing.

Unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your check engine light is displaying a warning about your gas cap. You've inspected the cap and it appears fine, but you've noticed your vehicle is using more fuel than expected. The warning could indicate either a faulty gas cap that needs replacement or a deeper issue with your fuel system that requires diagnosis.
