Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is subject to a recall (78C/25V-766) for a manufacturing defect where engine block casting contamination could cause catastrophic engine failure, loss of power, or engine fire. The recall has been open for about 120 days with no fix available yet—Stellantis says engineers are still developing a remedy. Your vehicle has also been affected by five recalls in the 18 months since you purchased it, which has understandably raised concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability. The repair will require Jeep to provide a corrected engine block or engine replacement once the remedy is finalized.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is subject to two active safety recalls: one involving a high-voltage battery fire risk and another involving engine sand contamination. You've noticed abnormal loud engine noise during acceleration and shifting, plus a significant drop in electric range (from 32 to 29 miles), which are documented warning signs for these recalls. The dealership has placed you on a waitlist without providing a loaner vehicle, despite the manufacturer's own advisory to park outside and not charge the vehicle. You're concerned about continuing to drive a vehicle with documented fire and stalling hazards. The fix will require the dealership to install recall remedies once they become available, and may involve battery replacement and engine service.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee has two active safety recalls for fire risk: one involving the high-voltage battery (Recall 68C) and another involving the 2.0L engine (Recall 78C). Both recalls currently have no available repair remedy, and Jeep has advised you not to recharge the vehicle or park it near structures or other vehicles until a fix is available. The dealer confirmed no parts are available, and the earliest service appointment offered is several weeks away, leaving your vehicle unsafe to operate or charge.

criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has an open safety recall (Recall 78C) for engine contamination that could cause engine failure, loss of power, and potential fire risk — but after 139 days, Jeep hasn't provided a fix or clear safety guidance. You've received conflicting instructions about whether it's safe to use the electric mode, gasoline engine only, or both, and the dealership says they don't have clear direction from Jeep either. Because of the uncertainty and safety concerns, you're unable to use the vehicle as intended, which has cost you in rental cars and extra fuel expenses that Jeep said they'd reimburse but hasn't followed up on. The recall likely requires an engine inspection, repair, or replacement once Jeep provides a proper remedy and clear operating guidelines.

Electrical System,unknown Or Other,engine1 issue
criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe may have casting sand left inside the 2.0L engine from manufacturing, which could cause sudden engine failure, loss of power, or fire. This poses a serious safety risk, especially since the vehicle could catch fire even when parked. Because of this recall, the vehicle is currently unusable and there is no available fix yet, leaving you unable to drive or charge it as intended. Resolving this issue will require either a complete engine replacement or a manufacturer buyback program.

NHTSA #: 11724593
Unknown Or Other1 issue
criticalUNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Mar 2026

Your vehicle is subject to an open safety recall because sand left over from the manufacturing process may be inside your engine. This contamination could potentially cause your engine to fail suddenly, catch fire, or stop working while you're driving. The recall has been active since November 2025, but the manufacturer says replacement parts aren't currently available, so the problem can't be fixed yet.

NHTSA #: 11724616
Power Train,fuel/propulsion System1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Mar 2026

Your engine stopped while driving. This issue appears related to recall 78C for Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe models, which Stellantis has identified as unsafe to drive once the problem occurs. The dealer has refused to offer an early lease termination despite the safety concern.

NHTSA #: 11724082
Electrical System,seat Belts,seats1 issue
criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,SEATS
Filed: Mar 2026

Your driver's seat suddenly moves forward without warning while you're driving, pushing you into the steering wheel and making it hard to steer or brake—this has happened at highway speeds. The only way to stop it is to pull over, turn off the engine completely, and restart the vehicle. Your dealership has identified a problem with the comfort seat module based on check engine codes, but says they can't find the actual defect.

NHTSA #: 11721329
Power Train,electrical System,service Brakes1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
Filed: Mar 2026

Your vehicle has experienced two complete electronic system failures while driving at 45 mph, causing all dashboard warning lights to come on and disabling power steering and brake assist. Although the engine kept running, you lost control of critical safety systems both times. The first failure was repaired by reconnecting a loose electrical component, but the problem happened again, suggesting the underlying issue may not have been fully resolved. The fix will likely involve a thorough electrical system diagnosis to identify and permanently correct the connection or component causing these repeated failures.

NHTSA #: 11721365
Steering,electrical System,lane Departure1 issue
criticalSTEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Grand Cherokee is experiencing multiple critical system failures: the trunk opens while driving, the engine shuts down at highway speeds while the vehicle fails to recognize it's moving, the radio and infotainment system freeze for extended periods, the vehicle frequently dies and becomes completely unresponsive, the fuel gauge displays inaccurate and constantly changing readings (sometimes showing half tank, then full tank within minutes), and when the battery dies, jump-starting attempts cause sparking with all doors locked, trapping you inside. These issues suggest serious electrical system malfunctions affecting the engine control computer, infotainment system, and power distribution. A complete electrical system diagnostic and potential replacement of the battery, alternator, or engine control module may be necessary.

NHTSA #: 11721468
Electrical System,tires1 issue
highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,TIRES
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is experiencing a premature battery drain while driving in electric mode and hesitation when you press the accelerator pedal, with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light on. There's a recall (Campaign 25V741000) for the electrical system, but when you took your vehicle to the dealer for repair, the required part was on backorder and the repair couldn't be completed. The manufacturer is offering partial rental car assistance while waiting for the part to become available.

NHTSA #: 11724955
Fuel/propulsion System1 issue
highFUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Mar 2026

Your vehicle stalled and shut off while accelerating into a roundabout in both Hybrid and Electric modes, displaying a "Service Hybrid System" warning message. In both incidents, you lost all engine power in the middle of traffic and had to restart the vehicle by turning it off, waiting, and restarting it again. This issue appears to be related to the hybrid system's ability to smoothly transition between electric and gas power during acceleration.

NHTSA #: 11723486
Electrical System,forward Collision Avoidance,lane Departure1 issue
highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: Mar 2026

Your lane departure warning and cruise control are unexpectedly turning off while you're driving at various speeds, forcing you to pull over and reset the infotainment system to get them working again. This problem keeps happening intermittently even after a dealer reset. Your vehicle is also part of a recall (Campaign 25V741000) related to the electrical system, but the dealer has had it for 50 days waiting for a replacement high voltage battery that isn't yet available, and the recall repair hasn't been completed. The fix will likely involve replacing the high voltage battery and updating or repairing the electrical system components that control these safety features.

NHTSA #: 11722892
Back Over Prevention, forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highBACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Mar 2026

Your reverse sensors activated the brake system while you were backing up on snow, causing the wheels to spin. This triggered brake rotor damage and brake caliper cracks, which then led to tire failure and suspension damage. The safety system may need recalibration or sensor adjustment to prevent unintended braking on slippery surfaces.

NHTSA #: 11723158
Electrical System,engine,forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2024 Grand Cherokee is experiencing multiple electrical and climate issues: the wiper and emergency braking warning lights turn on unexpectedly while driving, the touchscreen gets hot and goes blank, the battery doesn't perform well in extreme temperatures, the heater blows cool air even on the highest setting, and the engine light came on with the electrical system refusing to engage despite a full charge. These problems likely stem from electrical system malfunctions and may require diagnostic scanning and possible component replacement.
