2019 Ram 1500 Wipers & Visibility Problems

My windshield wiper speed slowed down then stopped in the middle of my windshield and stop working completely when it was raining. I had to pull over and wait for the rain to stop so I wouldn't cause an accident. I know there is a recall on the ram 2500 and 3500 hundred.

The contact stated that she lived in an area with a lot of fog, and after activating the defroster and driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear driver’s side window shattered. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a possible small fracture that could allow moisture to intrude and shatter the glass.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while occupying the vehicle with the vehicle turned off and in park(P), the rear glass shattered without impact. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure.

Multiple times when placing the vehicle in reverse, review view camera screen shows distorted view or 'camera system not available' and blue screen. Have taken to dealer regarding issue multiple times, issue unresolved by component replacement in kind. Have researched online, found this is a common problem with Ram DS vehicles.

The sun visor fails to stay secure and falls from its mounting post - obscuring vision. My driver side did this while under warranty, and was replaced. The passenger side is now falling.

2 Issues to go over: 1.) The rear defroster. My defroster has failed on me twice. First time I had it repaired, second time they were going to charge me the same amount for the same failure.

Both sun visor have failed in the past 3 years. The mount fails, causing the visor to fall out of the headliner and hang by a non-detachable wire. Closing the visor and trying to re-seat it does not always allow it to stay up.

My wipers sound like they are grinding when I use them, and are very slow. To the point to where it seems like the wipers motor is quiting. My visibility when it rains will be close to 0 if it is not repaired.

My factory windshield cracked so I had to replace it, I decided to go with OEM for the replacement, after getting it replaced I noticed the windshield was distorted and had wavyness to it, I called and the guy said it must’ve been a defective windshield, he replaced it a second time and the same thing happened, I then thought maybe he was getting fake OEM glass so I contacted my dealer, they replaced it, low and behold the same problem, then a fourth time, yup the same problem, keep in mind these are OEM mopar windshields.

Automatic folding side mirrors have failed 3 times on my Ram within the last 3 years. The internal components seem to fail and cause the mirror to fail to fold in and fold out properly which causes a loss of visibility. I've had both mirrors replaced so it is not specific to one side.

As with an overwhelming amount of other ram trucks, my rear sliding window frame has cracked. This causes water to leak in through the crack when it rains. The water leaking in can damage the headliner and could cause an electrical short in the rear of the truck.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LESTER GLENN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (1199 NJ-37 W, TOMS RIVER, NJ 08755) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH THE REAR WINDOW. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,800.

My windshield has been replaced 4 times in the last year. It is due to be replaced again. It appears to have stress fractures.

My wipers fail during rain. First event at 70mph in heavy rain....very dangerous. Have stopped on multiple occasions.

Leather comes apart from dash of vehicle obstruction front defrost causing issues for defrosting front windshield. This has been mention to mopar/dodge and since issue is considered not something covered by warranty it has continuously detached from dash. I have called several times regarding the leather detaching from the dash board.

Sun visor randomly falls. This is a know issue, it has now happened to both of mine. There’s a defect with the mounting bracket that mounts the sun visor to the vehicle.

Trim cracks around rear window, allowing rain to come inside while driving, this creates a mist that is detrimental to driver safety. Water gets onto inside of windshield and in the drivers face. Needs to be addressed before someone gets blinded by the rain mist and unable to see safely.

Rear window has a defective frame that cracks. These cracks allow water into the cabin of the truck where electrical components are located.

My drivers side sun visor is broke and keeps falling down in front of me while I'm driving causing a serious safety hazard. This is an event that happened, My Wife and 2 other friends are driving from phoenix to LA.

Over time, the folding mechanism of both side mirrors have deteriorated to the point that the mirrors move with wind resistance while driving. The side mirrors need to be constantly adjusted while driving to maintain visibility. This is a widely recognized issue among Ram 1500 owners.

wipers arms keep coming loose and disconnecting. Spoke to Ram representative and they state that Safety Recall W25 / NHTSA 20V-208 does not include my VIN. Until more people complain about having the same safety problem they will not address issue.

My passenger side wiper will quit working due to the nut loosening itself it has happened several times since I bought the truck. I noticed there is a recall for the year of truck I have but when I input my VIN it does not show a decal but I am having the same problems as the recall

Wipers stopped working while driving. It was snowing lightly but enough that it was dangerous without working wipers!

Driver side wiper motor not in gauging properly, not working at times or only wiping the windshield half way. This problem happens in both stationary and in motion.

Drivers wiper actually comes off the drivers side of the window, wrapping around the door column, then freezes in that position. When I manually push the blade back into position it either flies off the window again or freezes 1/2 way. This was in snow conditions.

I was driving about 40mph in a heavy rain storm with the wipers on. The wipers failed and stopped up on the windshield. I could not get them to respond on any wiper setting.

Driver's visor broke while driving, it fell into the vision path dangling by the power cables. Upon inspection only plastic holds the metal rod in place, no grommet or snap washer is used at the end of the rod to secure it in the ceiling mount; the rod that extends into the base is free to fall out once the plastic breaks.

While a/c is on and vent direction is set to front, cold air also blows out of the defrost vent and fogs part of the windshield

When turning on the defrost in the morning the driver side windshield becomes completely obstructed by fog while the passenger side is clear. Typically takes 15 minutes before the windshield will clear. This is occurring in florida during the mornings.

With the HVAC system set to dash vents, air is allowed to blow through the defrost vents causing fogging on the windshield, many mornings this fogging is severe and impedes my ability to view other cars/pedestrians on the road. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle in dec '18. To date ram has not issued a recall, or service bulletin for this.

Constant flow of cold air to windshield in all air modes. Causes fogging of windshield at night and decreases ability to safely see at times.

doesn't matter if truck is moving or stationary, the defrost will clear the passenger side. I have not had this truck during the winter, but this would be greatly problematic and dangerous if occurred during the winter.

Wiper motor failure at 13k miles, parts on backorder vehicle in motion, on highway

Even though the defrost system seems to put out plenty of heat the fan or the way the windshield is designed, when it is cold out and/or I am traveling at a decent speed the defroster does not keep the windshield clear. It affects aprox. The last couple of inches that the wipers reach and then everything above that.

2019 ram 1500 classic. Every time small rock hits the windshield it will chip it. Guaranteed.

When the temperature is "cold" (36 degrees and below) the backup camera does not work. The screen displays a completely blue screen when the backup camera engages (when reversing, or when selecting the backup camera view intentionally). This happens when in parked, when in reverse, and while driving when the temperature is 36 degrees or below.
