2019 Ram 1500 Transmission Problems

On multiple occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly shifted out of Drive into Neutral while driving. When this occurs, a warning chime dings and a message on display directs me to “Shift to Park”.

Truck was stopped. Then as I started pressing on the gas pedal, there was a warning sound. The gear selector knob rotated on its own from D to P and the message on the screen said to start / stop the vehicle to put it back in gear D.

Upon acceleration from stop, and even while driving at speeds between 30 & 40 MPH, the vehicle shifts from Drive to Neutral and displays "Shift to P..." on the display. This occurs repeatedly. You have to stop the vehicle and shift to Park then back to Drive.

I had serval problems with the electrical and shifter all of the sudden all lights wipers all instruments turn on shifter wants to stop and cars turns off while driving on highway front brakes vibrate . I know there’s a defect with the electrical and is very dangerous because I looked up problems like mines and other people say they had the same issue with dodge ram 1500 .

On 07-20-22 I was driving home from work in the evening around 5:45 pm, out of nothing, I noticed my temp gauge starting to rise. It rose up to alarm level (overheating). I slowed down and pulled over, and noticed the temp gauge starting to drop down to below overheating but still above normal.

Transmission falling out of gear when transmission fluid temperature under 100 degrees, error message "Shift to P then to desired gear" on dash when slowing to a stop, puts vehicle in neutral and the driver must shift the vehicle into park then put it back in drive to continue. When I come to a sudden or slow stop either coming to a stop sign or going around a corner or traffic jam on the highway, my truck will sometimes surge and accelerate suddnly before coming to a complete stop. When that doesnt happen the truck will just drop into nuetral and the cluster will display " please shift to park then select desired gear".

Rear Differential began to grind and make noise. Dealer stated could cause failure and lead to crash if not repaired/replaced. Full diagnosis not complete as of this date.

I purchased my truck new in Nov 2019. Since then I have had four different occasions where my truck has stalled while driving at low speed or while shifting from drive to reverse. Two of the occasions I was pulling away from a stop and the truck stalled and I was stuck in the middle of the intersection until I put the truck in park and restarted.

Check engine light once for the ALTERNATOR and had to have it towed and replaced with only 37,000 miles on it and took two months to get part and repaired after just buying the truck. Now check engine light came on and it’s the code U11E9 which has to deal with the shutters in the front of the truck

I have owned my 2019 ram 1500 (new) for 2.5 years and more than 30-40 times over this period the transmission gets stuck in 1st gear. The only way, I've found, to resolve is to put truck into park, turn off engine and then restart. It happens when I first start driving and don't notice until the engine "revs" and then realize it is stuck in gear.

The star connector on the CAN C BUS will start to have communication problems with the all the systems on that star connector approximately after about 15 to 20 min after driving. Systems that were constantly going in and out were the front and rear parking sense, ABS and traction would go out. Service shifter message, caused the transmission to up shift while driving at a constant speed.

While driving down a curving mountain highway above 70 mph, the gauge cluster displayed “shift to park” or “shift to drive” I don’t recall exactly. It was cold and dark and things could have gone much worse. Ram owners on internet forums have described this exact problem many times and it’s clear that this is a wide spread safety issue. This is the second time the truck had lost power while driving in the same manner. The first time the dealer could not replicate the issue while it was under warranty and returned it to service. No I’m out of warranty, need a new transmission at largely my own expense and there are zero available in the country. The dealer has my truck for an “indefinite” time period.

The MGU for the hybrid system of the etorque of them truck failed. The bearing inside of it has started to grind and there is very little replacements available to consumers for repair. The dealership, Fernley Ram, located in Fernley Nevada stated that there is only 210 parts available in all of the US. Im reading in different forums that there are thousands of consumers waiting months (4-6 on the high end) for the part to be available. The part failing can cause power loss to vehicle while driving and thankfully it failed when I was arriving home today. Just wanted to bring this up so it can be known and hopefully a remedy can be figured out.

Ram Rebel suffers from “Service Shifter” warning frequently; occasionally pits itself into neutral and requires to be put into park; front and rear park assist seem to be associated with this fault as well as it disables and enables randomly. Major electrical issue with shifter/transmission issues and parking sensors.

The power train component, specifically the etorque alternator (MGU) has failed and verified by CDJR dealership service department. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The MGU component affects the emissions control of the vehicle and is a generator for a battery cell located in the rear of the cab.

I have a 2019 Dodge Ram that slips out of gear and an error message comes up on dash "shift to park and then to desired gear". This is extremely dangerous as it happens in traffic. I have taken truck to dealer two times for four days each. They say that they cannot do anything unless they can recreate the same problem. It does not happen all the time but does happen in traffic. I videoed it when it happened but they say they need to see it. I asked if you see it what would you do and the answer is they do not know. I contacted dodge customer service and got a call but it was useless conversations. I see many other dodge truck owners online with same issue including videos too but dodge customer service seems to have no records of other drivers with same problem. Help. It is dangerous and I cannot not get anything other than a run around about they cannot recreate it. Help Help. First visit was 12/2024 and second visit was 01/2025. Someone from Dodge customer service corporate called several times but was basically a referee between me and dealer admittly so. The number as 1-844-378-0573. I do not have a name. 

My Ram 1500 front drive assembly issue. The initial issue was failure to engage in 4wheel drive. In either 4 wheel low, high or Auto. During replacing the transfer case it became obvious that axle in some way basically became welded to housing so had to replace left axle as well. Do to these problems I now have to replace front differential (part# 68349702AE and right axle (part# 68259567AA) as well because of the failure of transfer case and left axle. My issue is 1st the differential part is not available in my area (Nassau County NY). 2nd is that there is a recall for a faulty gear or bearing in the front drive train that my VIN# is not included in this recall. Could this bearing/gear have caused my issue? 3rd is if the front differential is on such a long back order that is telling me that Stelantis has an issue with the reliability of this part (68349702AE). Why if this is in such demand and numerous problems with them hasn't NHTSA not forced Stalantis to recall these parts. My truck is a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi with just 38,677 miles presently today. I have never taken this truck 4 wheeling or on the beach. The only time I have used 4 wheel drive is when the roads are slick due to rain, snow or ice, because of the light rear end. The last time 4 wheel drive was used was last years snow storm. Just don't understand hardly ever used and all this damage, truck was never in a substantial accident. I clipped drivers side back door and small section of bed, minor. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. I'm already into this for $2500 and looking at another $3000. Thank You.

At times the transmission does not shift from 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 gears. Causes the engine RPM to reach red level. Have to pull over turn off vehicle and restart for the transmission to shift again. This is suppose to be a lifetime transmission and not need any maintenance. It seems to be a common problem on many forums for this particular transmission. Or it jumps into gear instead of the smooth shifting that it is suppose to do. Many people seem to be having the same issues.

When i first drive the truck while driving when i am decelerating to come to a stop, the truck will slip out of gear and tell me to put the shifter into park before driving. This has also happened at a yeild sign and while slowing down for a turn. This is very dangerous and someone will be hurt if not addressed. I took to the dealer in Daphne AL Tamaron to get this resolved and a few other things going with the truck the radio a recall on abs system and exhaust leak. witch had nothing to do with this. they were in contact with the auto maker i guess Cylser. they looked at the camshafts and found nothing wrong no does the truck have a codes. I was told to come get my truck because they couldnt find the issue but everything else was fixed. I currently have around 105,000 miles but this has been happening for at least 50k around 30times some almost causing a wreak. i have read that they really havent found an issue besides the wiring harness but not sure this fixed the issue online forms. This will one day cause a fatal accident if not address hopefully not me, or anyone else.

I was turning at a light when my truck gave a message saying “switch to p” and wouldn’t let me accelerate there was no shoulder to pull over so I had to stop in the middle of the road switch to parking and then to drive this is concerning as I research and found out that it has happened to a few other people and RAM is not doing anything about it when the issue is brought to them they treat the problem as a case by case basis claiming they have never heard that problem

Vehicle behaved erratically before repair and still does. It seemed a bit better after the repair but issues are still there. It lurches forward when coming to a stop and accelerates in a delayed manner, starting slow and then jumping forward. The 4 wheel drive issues system errors like overheated and function diminished. At times it just doesn't work. Systems turn themselves on. (axle lock) These issues existed since the vehicle was new with the dealership telling me they didn't know what could cause them.

The dealership where the recall repairs are being done is trying to charge me almost $1500.00 dollars to replace them even though they are directly related to the recall. ( 19V-757)

Hemi 5.7L ticking. Took the truck to another mechanic to assess and the engine is filled with metal shavings from a failed assembly at 50k miles. A power train assembly should get at minimum 100k miles before any issues would arrive.

Right side exhaust manifold leak. Made an appointment with the dealership but the parts are on back order and not expected to be here until Mid to late November. They told me it was a nationwide backorder due to so many issues with these trucks.

My vehicle started making a clicking noise and smelled like burning rubber. I took it to my local mechanic and my right exhaust manifold is cracked leaking co2 into the cab. This is on national back order because of the high demand for the parts.

The transfer case warps unproportionary on one side without any type of driver error or reason. There isn't a correct seal which causes water and damage which ultimately damages the cv axel as well . Was checked out by garage and plan on taking to dealer.

Hello, I was driving on Highway 99 three days ago and my truck came to an abrupt halt after making some horrible engine noises. I hadn’t been driving my truck because it won’t pass smog due to check engine light on. I had taken it to a dealer in Lodi Dodge Dealer and they Did one recall on the fuel injector pump.

Exhaust manifold bolts broke off on my 2019 Ram 1500. Dealership said it’s a known problem affecting all models.

Vehicle developed the infamous "hemi tick" chronicled in multiple news articles, bulletins & complaints. Defective exhaust manifold design causes it to trap heat, melting the bolts and cracking the manifolds. This leads to loud ticking when engine is started from cold and can eventually lead to engine failure.

Recall 44A I contacted Promaster Case Management Case # [XXX] Their reply was that I go to Wilson Motors 425 N W Buchanan Corvallis, OR 97330, a 5 hour, 14 minute round trip, of 246 miles. I live in a population of approximately 26,000+ people. This is wholly unacceptable when there are 5 dealerships who sell Ram vehicles (2 much closer) closer to my location.

Every Ram 1500 around 30K miles cast iron exhaust manifold failure bolts brakes and/ or manifold cracks causing exhaust leak higher toxins in the air without going through the Cadillac converter. Ram been scamming people for decades, costing over $1,000 to resurface and/or replaced manifold gasket and bolts have to extract the broken bolts since the nut broke off the bolts

My [XXX] son was driving his Ram 1500 on a country road and the he started hearing a clunking noise and his tires locked up. Luckily he is experienced in driving bigger vehicles and was able to control the vehicle to not wreck it. We had his vehicle towed to repair shop. Less than a day later the repair shop called to tell us that the vehicles transmission needed to be replaced as well as the rear differential. He said the rear diff issue is what caused the transmission to go out. Ive contacted multiple dealerships in hopes to have this replaced for free of charge since Ram had a recall with this same issue. But since the trucks Vin number isn't under the recall they denied the claim. I feel its unfair of a owner of a vehicle that literally has the same issues as a recall within the same year of the recall but can't get compensation for the repairs. Both repairs ended up totaling over $10,000. This truck only had 69,000 miles. I was driving on busy road and truck completely shut down with a warning message”shifter autocorrect active” all power to truck died out and truck cruised to a slow speed and then abruptly jumped into park.i would restart it, drive few feet and it did it again. A few times it drove for a relatively longer distance but same message would come up and truck shut down in motion. Police had me take it off the road as i was causing very unsafe situations for myself and for all others around me. Had truck towed home, Unhooked battery once car got home to help reset it, took it out again and exactly same thing. Called dealer they said never heard of it , yet there are hundreds of complaints regarding this situation online. Taking it into dealer to have a diagnosis done

I just bought my 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel mileage with 47,832 miles. My truck was stuck in park and it took me several minutes shutting my truck on and off and messing with the knob changing gears before I was finally able to get my truck in gear. Fast forward three days now I am getting a warning light to "service shifter". In doing research trying to find more information I have discovered several Ram truck owners are or have experienced the same issue. This is a safety issue for many reasons. As a female I am worried about getting stuck somewhere and being put in a unsafe situation. From all the complaints I read on line I feel strongly that this needs to be looked into.

The location of the shifter knob, in close proximity to the fan control knob, poses a danger while driving the vehicle. I was driving at 70mph on the freeway and went to turn down the fan when I accidentally turned the shifter and the truck went into neutral. As a result, I was nearly rear-ended as I wasn’t able to accelerate.

Gauge cluster stopped working, no speedometer, mileage, turn signal indicators etc. all black. Extreme safety risk. 4WD will not engage, possibly associated.

The transmission shifts extremely rough mainly when in traffic. There are times that you try to accelerate but the truck doesn’t shift fast enough or correctly. The dealership said it was a software update but it didn’t fix the problem.

Sometimes it shifts into neutral while vehicle is in operation, on its own. Sometimes when cold (not reached normal operating temperature, the transmission sticks in fourth gear while down shifting. I can feel and hear the downshift from 4th to first while I am decelerating.

This is an emissions issue. The exhaust manifold bolts have failed and are failing. This ultimately releases nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, benzene and formaldehyde fumes into the cabin area.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 3.6L Pentastar that I was driving home in from being out of town, and as soon as I got back in town I started getting the smell of burning oil coming through my AC vents when I would stop. I assumed it was a car nearby, but once I stopped at my house the smell came back.

Vehicle engine shuts off while driving and engages auto-breaking feature. First occurrence was at steady 35 miles an hour, engine shuts off suddenly and no warning lights/codes are displayed and the emergency auto-breaking feature kicked in before I guided vehicle off the road to a complete stop with a delivery truck behind me almost rearing ending.

I HAD TO PULL OVER, MANUALLY PLACE THE KNOB INTO PARK, THEN WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN BACK INTO DRIVE. THE TRUCK RESUMED NORMALLY AFTER THAT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL OR INTO A LOWER GEAR. I DID NOT TRY TO FORCE THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IT WAS MOVING. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE WAS THE POSITION OF THE GAS PEDAL I HAD JUST EASED OFF OF IT SLIGHTLY INTENDING THE TRUCK TO SLOW DOWN. LAST YEAR I HAD THE TRUCK SERVICED FOR THE RECALLS. TODAY 12/8/2020 WITH 7900 MILES ON THE TRUCK I PLACED THE TRUCK INTO SERVICE FOR THEM TO ASCERTAIN THE PROBLEM.

2019 RAM 1500 BIGHORN STOPPED AT STOP SIGN AND THEN TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, THE "D" LIGHT ON SHIFTER KNOB WAS BLINKING AND DASH MESSAGE SAID TO PUT THE SHIFTER INTO DRIVE. I PUT THE SHIFTER INTO PARK AND ROLLED BACK TO DRIVE AND THE TRUCK WAS NORMAL.

I HAVE A 2019 RAM 1500 I BOUGHT LAST YEAR THAT NOW HAS 20,000 MILES. WITHIN 5,000 MILES, I NOTICED BRAKE NOISE ISSUES AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN LEESBURG, VA). THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING FROM BAD BRAKE PADS TO ROTORS TO MOUNTS - AFTER I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THEIR CLAIM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING. AFTER TAKING IT IN APPROXIMATELY 6 OR 7 TIMES, THEY FINALLY CHANGED MOUNTING ASSEMBLIES, AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, I STARTED GETTING A VIBRATION BETWEEN 45 AND 60 MILES AN HOUR. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN, AND THEY SAID MY TIRES NEEDED TO BE REBALANCED, ROTATED, AND THEY SUSPECTED THEY HAD UNUSUAL WEAR SOMEWHERE. OF COURSE, THE PERSON TELLING ME THIS PROCEEDED TO SHOW ME MY TIRES AND NOTICED THEY WERE ALMOST LIKE NEW. HE SAID THEY FIXED IT TO THE POINT IT WOULD ONLY VIBRATE BETWEEN 75 AND 80 MILES. SINCE THEN, THE VIBRATION STILL PRESENTS ITSELF BETWEEN 45 MILES AND UP & NOW MY BRAKES ARE SQUEALING AGAIN.

VEHICLE FAILS TO START WITHOUT ANY NOTICE OR APPARENT INDICATIONS OF A POTENTIAL ISSUE.I HAD SOMEONE USE A CODE READER AND GOT THE FOLLOWING CODE P1DF3... I CHECKED RAM FORUMS AND THIS IS A COMMON MALFUNCTION. WITHOUT WARNING SOMETHING DRAINS THE BATTERY. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL FIX IT YET.

DURING SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS USUALLY FROM 2 GEAR TO 1ST GEAR AND SURGES FORWARD. MANY TIMES DURING THIS SURGE THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL AND THE SCREEN INSTRUCTS ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK IN TO DRIVE. IT MAKES IT DANGEROUS IF THERE IS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE TRUCK OFTEN SURGES WHEN STOPPING AND POPS OUT OF GEAR AT ONCE A MONTH. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ADDRESSED BY UPDATING DRIVE TRAIN SOFTWARE. SINCE REPAIR IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND I TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY STATE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE OR KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.

THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V556000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000.

WHINING/ GROWLING NOISE FROM REAR END. SOUND STARTS ABOUT 40 MPH AND NEVER GOES AWAY. CHECKED THE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID IT WAS 3/4 QUART LOW. TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY, THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A PINION BEARING GOING BAD LIKELY CAUSE WAS FROM LOW FLUIDS. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM FOUND FCA ( HAD A RECALL ( SAFETY RECALL U88 / NHTSA 18V-556 REAR AXLE FLUID LEVEL - 2018-2019 RAM 1500)ON SIMILAR YEAR AND MODEL TRUCK BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER. FCA ADVISED ME TO CONTACT THIS AGENCY TO SEE IF I CAN INCLUDE MY VIN.

Every day when driving the truck for the first time. Truck has sat for more than 5 hours and is cool (70 degrees) as I leave my community driiving 25 MPH, I stop at the first stop sign. During slowing down to a stop the transmission downshifts and surges forward.

Leak in ceiling head liner wet and discoloring radio screen died twice. Has shifting problem from 1st to second sometimes want my old truck back please

When slowing down from a higher speed to coasting (let off gas let slow down), I have a harsh vibration/noise coming from the rear end, to the point it shakes the seats, console, and even the door panels. The vibration does not last but a couple of seconds at a time usually a speed or two.

I have made several attempts to get this vehicle repaired after receiving this recall notification. V61/NHTSA 19v-407at this incompetent dealership crowley chrysler jeep in bristol ct.

During normal driving of vehicle when coming to a complete stop, releasing the brake without applying any gas will produce a "bump" or a slight "jerking" forward. This does not happen every time but has been happing since purchase of the vehicle.

#1 complaint- the panoramic sunroof sounds like it isn't fully shut when at higher speeds (80+) and whenever there are crosswinds. I took it to the dealer and they said they currently have three other customers with the same complaint and that there wasn't a fix currently.

2019 ram with 13,000 miles. After my first engine oil change at 10,000 miles conducted by the ram dealership. During normal driving conditions in the street and in the highway while in motion I feel the transmission slipping, like it takes a couple of seconds to fully engage.

I had just finished pumping gas and turned on my truck and shifted from park to drive. When I did this, nothing happened. I thought maybe I didn't turn the truck on so I pressed the push start button and turned off.

When I try to put my new truck in gear (stationary) the transmission seems not to slide into drive and the truck just sits there. I've checked the brakes and al the digital stuff and nothing is holding the truck back, it's just not clicking into gear. Then, when I apply a little pressure to the accelerator, the engine revs up a bit and the truck lurches into gear.

Vehicle occasionally sticks in park when you put it in drive. It releases when the rpms raise enough to overpower what is hanging. This causes the vehicle to lunge forward once whatever is hanging it is overpowered by the input RPM's, the natural response when you put it in drive is to hit the gas.

Having same problems as several other buyers.... I purchased this vehicle and had it built in dec of 2018. Since then, I have experienced 10 or more instances of where I put the vehicle in d (drive) and the vehicle will not move.

Occasionally, when the vehicle is started and shifted from park to drive, the transmission will not engage and the vehicle will not move forward. Shifting back to park and then drive again does not resolve the issue. If the gas pedal is pressed when the vehicle is in drive, the vehicle will suddenly drop into gear and the car will dangerously surge forward.

When the truck is put into "d" drive from park, it will not move. Some times it will do it in "r" reverse. If you push on the gas pedal enough it will lunge forward abruptly.

I purchased the vehicle from a ram dealer on january 2, 2019. Since then, I have experienced 3 instances of where I put the vehicle in d (drive) and the vehicle will not move. I returned to p (park) and then back to d, and it still won't move.

Brand new 2019 ram 1500 490 miles ,about 3 times ( owned it a month) when truck is shifted from park to drive ,parking brake is off ( auto park brake disabled as well in settings } the truck will not move ,foot is off brake, foot off of gas ,if I shift into park then drive again and give it some gas it will ,lunge /jerk/jump in first gear and fly forward like a brake stand .so I did some research on the issue , found numerous people with the same issue ,same exact symtoms and results .someone soon ,will be killed by this ,when they get out to check to see if the truck is blocked and it runs them over.

On five different occasions the vehicle would not shift out of first gear. In each case I was stopped at a stop sign or red light and making a left turn. Upon starting up and turning, the transmission remained in first gear, motor revving 4,000 - 4,500 RPM or so, until I realized I had a problem.

Right front axle seized in front differential both axle splines worn and identical needs replacement. No parts available.

My 2019 RAM 1500 diesel (built 12/12/2019 is included in Recall 23V-411 for tone wheel delamination. My tone wheel has failed (confirmed by technician). Stellantis provides free tone wheel replacement under Recall 73A for 2014 and 2016 models but excludes 2015/2017/2018/2019 models despite having the identical defect from the same supplier.

During normal driving when coming to a stop the vehicle will hard downshift to neutral for no apparent reason. It will also hard shift to 1st like it’s lagging hard from 2nd or deciding if it wants to shift to neutral. It will happen at random times, in the middle of a turn, middle of an intersection.

The vehicle will require that you shift it into park when slowing causing you to have to stop the vehicle place it in park then back into gear. This has happened regularly since about 20,000 miles on the vehicle, most often occurs in warmer weather months and it randomly occurs but at least weekly. This is a known issue among many Ram owners as noted in the online chats and forums.

electric controller is failing causing the power system to fail

October 10, 2024, approximately 6:10AM PST. While accelerating on freeway on-ramp to merge into traffic that was also accelerating, the truck shifted the transmission into neutral. Vehicles behind truck had to swerve around my truck, while I stepped on brake pedal in the middle of accelerating traffic to be able to shift truck back into drive to continue onto freeway.

The truck with provide warnings "front/rear sensors temporarily disabled" and "service shifter" before starting to shift itself back and forth between 1st and 3rd gear. When it does this it will often stay in whatever gear it is in when accelerating and not shift with no regard for speed.

I own a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie quad cab 4x2. In two different instances while accelerating from a stop or near stop the transmission dropped completely out of gear. The message "Return shifter to park(P) then shift to desired gear" has come up.

I have had my Dodge Ram 1500 in the shop from November 2022 through September 2023 five different times for defective camshafts vvt solenoids oil control valves. Issues still persist due to faulty machined parts from the manufacturer.

I had my oil changed and my OIL Pan is rusting out which would be critical when driving and could cause engine harm. I was told that my Warranty just ran out on 8/30/23. However I only have 42,500 miles on the truck.

While decelerating and still in motion, the vehicle drops out of drive, unable to accelerate, and a warning appears on the display cluster to shift the vehicle into park and then back to drive.

Code p0850 for the tcm. Transmission would not go in park it happened 3 times on 3/3/2023 and 2 time 3/4/2023 truck would not shutoff due to the issue engine light came on and remains on.

Vehicle was in motion, gently turning right and decelerating, moving approx. 60 MPH exiting interstate when engine shutoff. Dash display read message to shift car into park.

While driving, the truck loses power as if in neutral. The car is in drive, and the display says something similar to 'in park pick a gear'. I don't know the exact wording.

While driving approximately 15 miles an hour on a neighborhood street the truck displayed "auto park disabled" and proceeded to shut off completely, forcing me to pull over and try and turn the truck back on.

While driving (in motion in the city) car randomly put itself in neutral the drive light blink and error message on dash board stating put the car in park and back into drive. While stopped car and foot on brake randomly the engine revs and lunges forward.

Transmission would not come out of lower gear while driving on city street. Had to pull off street, put into park then back into drive then it seemed to function normally again.

While driving slowing down to make a left turn turn completely turned off. While still in drive was able to get to the side off the road everything was still on a.c. Shut off but power was still on.

I feel a knocking sensation either when I apply the brakes or gas after driving the vehicle. In my opinion, it feels like either the transmission or drive shaft are slipping. This happens almost every time I drive the vehicle in the city and usually when stopping at a red light or sign.

Enterprise rental - while driving on a busy city freeway, the pick up truck lost all it's speed as if transmission switched from (drive) to (neutral).

2019 ram laramie gear selector will show drive and not move until the RPM is @ 2000 and then slam into gear. This was after backing into a parking spot and then immediately going into drive to reposition the truck. This has happened twice.

Park to drive shifting problem. Transmission and indicators go to from park to drive, however vehicle does not move. To rectify the problem you must place the vehicle in reverse, than into drive.

85 miles on vehicle put vehicle in drive no movement shifted to park then back to drive no movement shifted to reverse movement shifted to drive movement this is similar to the issue with the 2006 mega.

Vehicle gets stuck when shifting from park to drive as if electronic parking brake is engaged, though it is not. Tapping the gas pedal then sends the vehicle jolting forward in an extremely unsafe manner.
