POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE)
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with four-wheel drive. A gear within the transfer case may not have been installed correctly, possibly causing the vehicle to become stuck in neutral. If this occurs while driving, there could be a sudden loss of power. Additionally, a loss of 'PARK' function may occur.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer case, free of charge. The recall began March 10, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W06.
POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. The rear driveshaft may have an incomplete weld fusion between the tube and tube yoke, which may lead to weld cracking or the driveshaft fracturing.
Fix: FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear driveshaft, free of charge. The recall began June 13, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA US recall number is V48.
POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 RAM 1500 trucks. The rear differential may have been insufficiently filled, possibly resulting in its failure.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear axle oil level. Rear axles with an insufficient amount of oil will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began September 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U88.

The vehicle lost power, and all of the service lights on the dashboard started lighting up, wipers turned on and off by themselves, headlights turned on and off. Most of the messages stated that service was required on AWD, shifter, parking assist, power steering, brakes...etc. The truck wasn't picking up speed and started shaking.

2019 ram 1500 continually shifts into park while the vehicle is moving. The problem occurs when slowing and the Ram attempts to downshift. The shift occurs when the vehicle speed is slowing below 25 MPH.

While driving the truck, driving 80mph on highway the truck disengaged from Drive to neutral, with a notice on the dash to pullover and shift to park to drive. When truck disengaged from Drive while in motion I lost all acceleration power, and had to coast over to side of road to a stop. The truck disengaged from Drive on 3 other occasions.

On 07-20-22 I was driving home from work in the evening around 5:45 pm, out of nothing, I noticed my temp gauge starting to rise. It rose up to alarm level (overheating). I slowed down and pulled over, and noticed the temp gauge starting to drop down to below overheating but still above normal.

When I come to a sudden or slow stop either coming to a stop sign or going around a corner or traffic jam on the highway, my truck will sometimes surge and accelerate suddnly before coming to a complete stop. When that doesnt happen the truck will just drop into nuetral and the cluster will display " please shift to park then select desired gear".

It occurs primarily when the engine is cold but has also happened when warmed up This is a safety hazard because it could leave the vehicle subject to collision form approaching traffic.

I was driving in the city in traffic. I was accelerating at about half throttle or less, when the gas peddle went all the way to the floor (full throttle). The truck accelerated out of control, I tried lifting the gas peddle with my toe and it kept going straight back to the floor.

On 1/13/2024 driving at around 35 MPH truck stalls with no waring light displayed on dash and no indication of anything being wrong prior to stalling. On December 30, 2023, my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie edition suddenly and unexpectedly popped out of gear into neutral while driving approx. Check engine light once for the ALTERNATOR and had to have it towed and replaced with only 37,000 miles on it and took two months to get part and repaired after just buying the truck. Now check engine light came on and it’s the code U11E9 which has to deal with the shutters in the front of the truck

I have owned my 2019 ram 1500 (new) for 2.5 years and more than 30-40 times over this period the transmission gets stuck in 1st gear. The only way, I've found, to resolve is to put truck into park, turn off engine and then restart. It happens when I first start driving and don't notice until the engine "revs" and then realize it is stuck in gear.

The star connector on the CAN C BUS will start to have communication problems with the all the systems on that star connector approximately after about 15 to 20 min after driving. Systems that were constantly going in and out were the front and rear parking sense, ABS and traction would go out. Service shifter message, caused the transmission to up shift while driving at a constant speed.

While driving down a curving mountain highway above 70 mph, the gauge cluster displayed “shift to park” or “shift to drive” I don’t recall exactly. The transmission then downshifted dramatically, perhaps into 3rd gear, then the motor shut off.Thankfully, I successfully merged through heavy traffic to the narrow shoulder but the truck would not restart. After over 30 minutes of attempts (fuel tank above half)I called a tow truck. My family climbed up the hill to get a safe distance from the road. It was cold and dark and things could have gone much worse. Ram owners on internet forums have described this exact problem many times and it’s clear that this is a wide spread safety issue. This is the second time the truck had lost power while driving in the same manner. The first time the dealer could not replicate the issue while it was under warranty and returned it to service. No I’m out of warranty, need a new transmission at largely my own expense and there are zero available in the country. The dealer has my truck for an “indefinite” time period.

The MGU for the hybrid system of the etorque of them truck failed. The bearing inside of it has started to grind and there is very little replacements available to consumers for repair. The dealership, Fernley Ram, located in Fernley Nevada stated that there is only 210 parts available in all of the US. Im reading in different forums that there are thousands of consumers waiting months (4-6 on the high end) for the part to be available. The part failing can cause power loss to vehicle while driving and thankfully it failed when I was arriving home today. Just wanted to bring this up so it can be known and hopefully a remedy can be figured out.

The MGU component affects the emissions control of the vehicle and is a generator for a battery cell located in the rear of the cab.

I have a 2019 Dodge Ram that slips out of gear and an error message comes up on dash "shift to park and then to desired gear". This is extremely dangerous as it happens in traffic. I have taken truck to dealer two times for four days each. They say that they cannot do anything unless they can recreate the same problem. It does not happen all the time but does happen in traffic. I videoed it when it happened but they say they need to see it. I asked if you see it what would you do and the answer is they do not know. I contacted dodge customer service and got a call but it was useless conversations. I see many other dodge truck owners online with same issue including videos too but dodge customer service seems to have no records of other drivers with same problem. Help. It is dangerous and I cannot not get anything other than a run around about they cannot recreate it. Help Help. First visit was 12/2024 and second visit was 01/2025. Katie Marsh and Jason Tasker shop foreman were my contacts at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Leesburg Florida. 1-352-707-4662 . Someone from Dodge customer service corporate called several times but was basically a referee between me and dealer admittly so. The number as 1-844-378-0573. I do not have a name.

My Ram 1500 front drive assembly issue. The initial issue was failure to engage in 4wheel drive. In either 4 wheel low, high or Auto. During replacing the transfer case it became obvious that axle in some way basically became welded to housing so had to replace left axle as well. Do to these problems I now have to replace front differential (part# 68349702AE and right axle (part# 68259567AA) as well because of the failure of transfer case and left axle. My issue is 1st the differential part is not available in my area (Nassau County NY). 2nd is that there is a recall for a faulty gear or bearing in the front drive train that my VIN# is not included in this recall. Could this bearing/gear have caused my issue? 3rd is if the front differential is on such a long back order that is telling me that Stelantis has an issue with the reliability of this part (68349702AE). Why if this is in such demand and numerous problems with them hasn't NHTSA not forced Stalantis to recall these parts. My truck is a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi with just 38,677 miles presently today. I have never taken this truck 4 wheeling or on the beach. The only time I have used 4 wheel drive is when the roads are slick due to rain, snow or ice, because of the light rear end. The last time 4 wheel drive was used was last years snow storm. When i first drive the truck while driving when i am decelerating to come to a stop, the truck will slip out of gear and tell me to put the shifter into park before driving. Vehicle occasionally sticks in park when you put it in drive. It releases when the rpms raise enough to overpower what is hanging. This causes the vehicle to lunge forward once whatever is hanging it is overpowered by the input RPM's, the natural response when you put it in drive is to hit the gas.

October 10, 2024, approximately 6:10AM PST. While accelerating on freeway on-ramp to merge into traffic that was also accelerating, the truck shifted the transmission into neutral. Vehicles behind truck had to swerve around my truck, while I stepped on brake pedal in the middle of accelerating traffic to be able to shift truck back into drive to continue onto freeway.
