TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09E044000 (EQUIPMENT, TRAILER HITCHES); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) WAITING OVER 5 MONTHS TO REPAIR A RECALL NOTICE FORM JEEP. I CALLED THE DEALER MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER, THEY CALLED BACK 1ST WEEK IN DECEMBER, STATING PARTS WERE IN AND TO COME IN AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. WHEN I ARRIVED THEY STATED THEY DID NOT HAVE ALL THE PARTS AND I WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK. I AM STILL WAITING. IT IS THE TOWING SYSTEM, JEEP STATES THAT YOU SHOULD NOT TOW UNTIL IT IS REPLACE. I HAVE CHECK EACH MONTH AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME NO PARTS ARE BEING MADE YET AND THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS THEY GET THEM. NOW I HAVE A SECOND RECALL AND THIS ONE IS FOR THE TRASMISSION, WELL THIS ONE TAKE FOREVER TO REPAIR. [XXX] *TR
