The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH, there was a sound of wind coming from the sunroof. The contact stated that as he opened the sunshade guard, the sunroof glass detached from the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road to check that the sunroof glass had not struck any other vehicles. The contact then continued to drive the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUNROOF WAS LEAKING WATER INTO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE REOCCURRED DURING RAIN WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE WINDOW REGULATORS NEED TO BE RECALLS. THE FIRST ONE TO GO WAS THE DRIVERS WINDOW REGULATOR. COST OVER $500.00 WITH PARTS AND LABOR. THE PLASTIC PART IN THE REGULATOR BROKE AND THE WINDOW WENT DOWN IN THE DOOR. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO ORDER THE PART ON LINE FOR $200 AND FIX IT HIMSELF. THE SECOND WINDOW REGULATOR TO GO WAS THE DRIVERS REAR PASSENGER WINDOW. AS I WAS DRIVING THE WINDOW KEPT INCHING DOWN. HAD TO STOP 3 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME TO PULL THE WINDOW UP SO IT WOULDN'T FALL INTO THE DOOR,TAPED IT UP TILL I GOT HOME. AGAIN THE WINDOW REGULATOR SOMETHING BROKE INSIDE THE PART. ORDERED ANOTHER REGULATOR ON LINE AND HAD TO HAVE MY HUSBAND FIT IT. IF YOU GO TO CARCOMPLAINS.COM YOU WILL SEE MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR IN MY RR WINDOW THREE TIMES SO FAR AND THE LR ONE JUST BROKE. JEEP IS SAYING IT ISN'T UNDER RECALL AND OFFER NO HELP TO REPLACE IT. THE FEE TO REPLACE THE CRAPPY PLASTIC PIECE IS $50 IF I MANAGE TO RIP APART MY CAR DOOR OR $185 IF JEEP DOES IT. I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE SINCE I'VE LOOKED THIS PARTICULAR ITEM AND MODEL UP SEVERAL TIMES. 2/14/2007: AUTOMATIC WINDOWS MALFUNCTIONING. PASSENGER WINDOW ROLLS UP THEN HALF WAY DOWN. DRIVERS WINDOW NOT AUTOMATIC IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT APPEARS, THE DEALER HAS FINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM, ON 4/14/2008 AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. REAR PASSENGER BRAKE ROTOR WORN SEVERELY. BRAKES MAKING TERRIBLE NOISE. DEALER REFUSED TO FIX, SAID IT'S NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON FREQUENTLY. CLAIMS WE MUST HAVE A LEAK IN TIRE. CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING TODAY 4/2008. VIBRATION, LIKE AN ENGINE MISS AT IDLE. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NOT REPAIRED. EBS LIGHT FLASHES AT RANDOM TIMES ON DRY, FLAT, STRAIGHT ROADS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM NO REPAIRS MADE. *TR

POWER WINDOW BREAKS CONSTANTLY;. 400$ TO REPAIR. THE PLASTIC PIECE WHERE THE CABLE IS ATTACHED CRACKS AND THE WHOLE MECHANISM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF A .50$ PIECE THAT COULD BE MADE OF METAL. *TR
WE HAVE HAD TWO BROKEN WINDSHIELDS IN OUR JEEP COMMANDER AND NOW ARE ABOUT TO FIX OUR THIRD BROKEN WINDSHIELD. EVEN THE SMALLEST STONE BREAKS THE WINDSHIELD. WE THINK IT IS BE CAUSE OF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAS BEEN EXTREMELY COSTLY. WE ARE SATISFIED WITH THE CAR EXCEPT FOR THIS MAJOR DEFECT. *JB
