TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED IN TWO PLACES. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT NO GLASS WAS FOUND INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR SLIDING DOOR WAS NOT OPENING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE SLIDING DOOR IN ORDER TO OPEN IT AND TO ENSURE THAT IT WAS CLOSED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS NOT CONTACTING THE LEVER ARM PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-90, THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TEMPERATURE WAS 45 DEGREES. INSIDE SUN ROOF COVER WAS CLOSED SO NO GLASS ENTERED THE INTERIOR. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME. HAD THE COVER BEEN OPENED AND SMALL CHILDREN IN THE MIDDLE SEATS, SERIOUS INJURIES MAY HAVE OCCURRED. I SUGGEST THAT A SAFETY NOTICE BE ISSUED STATING THAT WHEN THE MIDDLE AND BACK ROW OF SEATS ARE OCCUPIED THEN THE SUN ROOF COVER BE CLOSED. I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING FLAW AS THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER INSTANCES OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MOST ARE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE 2005 MODEL ODYSSEY VAN. IN ADDITION A SAFETY RECALL MAY BE IN ORDER. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE INFORMED.
THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED WHILE DRIVING (SPEED 50, TEMP 63 DEGREES). WE HAD 4 KIDS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME (2 NOT MINE) AND GLASS HIT EACH OCCUPANT. LUCKILY NO ONE GOT CUT, BUT MY SON DID GET HIT IN THE EYE. WILL BE BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A WHISTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 47,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERED, NEARLY CAUSING INJURIES TO THE PASSENGERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE SEEMED TO BE NO OBJECTS THAT HIT THE VEHICLE TO CAUSE THE SHATTERED GLASS AND THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT THE GLASS WAS DEFECTIVE.
WHEN I HAVE MY FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND PUT MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE, MY REAR WIPERS WILL COME ON (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SWITCHED TO "OFF"). WHEN I SHIFT OUT OF REVERSE THEY SHUT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS, MOST RECENTLY ON 8/27/06. *JB
WINDSHIELD WIND NOISES.. NOISES STARTED 7 MONTHS AND 9900 MILES AFTER POSSESSION OF VEHICLE. STARTING HEARING WHISTLING NOISE WHEN DRIVE VEHICLE @ LOW SPEEDS ON WINDY DAYS. TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED BOTH MOLDINGS AND ADJUSTED FENDER. TOOK VEHICLE BACK INTO THE SHOP A MONTH LATER WITH SAME PROBLEM. THEY PREFORMED BULLETIN #04-078. DROVE VEHICLE ADDITIONAL 2000 MILES AND WIND NOISE STARTED AGAIN. THIS TIME I HAD OTHER DEALERSHIP IN TOWN TRY TO FIX WINDSHIELD. PICKED UP VEHICLE AND DROVE IT OUT OF TOWN AND RT. WINDSHIELD MOLDINGS CAME LOOSE. PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT DEALERSHIP HAD SCRATCHED AND DENTED FENDER AND WINDSHIELD POST. PULLED BACK THE LOOSE AND FLAPPING MOLDINGS AND NOTICED THAT THEY HAD SHOVED A RED SHOP TOWEL IN THE FENDER/WINDSHIELD AREA TO STOP THE NOISE. **IS THIS PROPER PROCEDURES IN THE REPAIR MANUEL** SHOVING RED SHOP RAGS IN THE FENDERS TO STOP WIND NOISE?? WHAT TO DO NOW - FENDER AND WINDSHIELD POST AND QUARTER NEEDS TO BE REPAINTED - I NOW HAVE LOST VALUE ON VEHICLE BECAUSE VEHICLE WILL BE PAINTED AND WINDSHIELD MOLDING IS HELD ON BY DUCK TAPE. --FYI, WINDSHIELD MOLDINGS ARE ONLY HELD IN WITH DOUBLE SIDED TAPE CLIPS - DOUBLE SIDED TAPE WILL ONLY HOLD FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, BEFORE THEY DETER ATE AND THEY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.. FACTORY DID NOT THINK OF THE LONGEVITY OF THE WINDSHIELD MOLDINGS. MANY, MANY MORE PEOPLE WILL CONTINUOUSLY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH WIND NOISE. *NM
DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. WINDSHIELD HAS WAVES THROUGHOUT CAUSING VISUAL IMPAIRMENT WHILE DRIVING. WAVES ARE VERY PROMINENT ON THE PASSANGER SIDE, BUT LESS OF AN ISSUE BEING THAT THEY ARE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. ONE PROMINENT WAVE THROUGH DRIVER'S SIDE CAUSES HEADACHES AND DIZZINESS DUE TO OPTICAL EFFECT. TAKEN IN TO DEALERSHIP WHO ACKNOWLEDGES THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSED A REPLACEMENT SAYING THAT THEY ARE ALL DEFECTIVE, SO THERE WOULD BE NO IMPROVEMENT.
THE PIECE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD TO GET THE WATER TO GO OFF THE TOP OF THE VAN INSTEAD OF THE SIDE WINDOWS, IS BAD. MY DEALER SAID THAT THE MAKER KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN NO REMEDY YET. DUE TO THE BAD PIECES, THE WINDSHIELD WHISTLES ONCE YOU HIT 45 MPH OR HIGHER. I AM TAKING IT IN NOW FOR THE THIRD TIME TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. IN ADDITION TO BEING DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY RESALE VALUE WHEN THE TIME COMES, IF A PROSPECTIVE OWNER TEST DRIVES IT AND HEARS THAT SOUND. VERY FRUSTRATED AND CAN'T FIND ON THE INTERNET ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPT SAID THAT THEY HAVE HAD OTHERS WITH MY VAN THAT COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, SO I AM CONCERNED ABOUT WHY IT HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED ON A BROADER SCALE BY THE COMPANY. *JB
WE BOUGHT HONDA 2005 ODYSSEY LAST JUNE. ON OCT 4, WE WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS GOING 40 MPH WHEN SOMEONE IN A FORD F250 PULLED OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME WITH THE SPEED OF 15 MPH (ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT). THE FORD TRUCK CRASHED INTO THE LEFT FRONT SIDE OF THE VAN. ONLY THE TWO FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. MY 2-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS SITTING RIGHT BEHIND THE DRIVER' SEAT. HE WAS BUCKLED IN A 5-POINT CAR SEAT. HIS SIDE SLIDING DOOR'S WINDOW (TINTED) SHATTERED AND THE BROKEN GLASS FLEW INTO HIS FACE WITH FORCE. HIS FACE WAS COVERED IN BLOOD AT ONCE. AT THE ER, THE DOCTOR HAD TO USE X-RAY AND DUG OUT CHUNKS OF GLASSES OUT OF HIS FACE. HE GOT 30 PLUS STITCHES AND WILL NEED TO HAVE PLASTIC SURGERIES LATER DUE TO FLESH LOSS AND BIG CUTS ON THE LEFT-SIDE OF HIS FACE. IF THE WINDOW DIDN'T SHATTER AND FLY WITH FORCE, MY BOY SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNHURT IN THIS ACCIDENT. AS A FAMILY VEHICLE, ODYSSEY SHOULD HAVE SHATTER-PROOF WINDOWS. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT AND WOULD LIKE TO START AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO HEAR FROM YOU. WE STILL HAVE THE VAN AT THE REPAIR SHOP UNTOUCHED. THE VAN IS GOING TO BE TOTALED. IF YOU NEED TO HAVE A LOOK AT THE VAN, WE WILL BE HAPPY TO DO SO. I HAVE CONTACTED THE SALES PERSON WHOM WE BOUGHT THE VAN FROM, BUT HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK ON THIS ISSUE.
WINDSHIELD CRACK FROM THE LOWER PASSENGER SIDE AND SPREAD UPWARDS FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 9 INCHES.
WINDSHIELD LEAKS/WHISTLES NEEDS REPLACEMENT PARTS/ NONE AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE.
THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS SOMETIMES COME ON BY THEMSELVES. WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO TURN THEM OFF, THEY CONTINUED TO OPERATE. THE SWITCH DIDN'T APPEAR TO WORK PROPERLY. *JB *SC *JB
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. DRIVING IN WINTER ON FREEWAY. WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID NOT COMING OUT. UNABLE TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD; POOR VISIBILITY. TURNS OUT THAT "LOW WINDSHIELD FLUID LEVEL WARNING" NOT INSTALLED BY MANUFACTURER. OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATES THAT "WARNING" IS AVAILABLE. HONDA INDICATED THAT ONLY CANADIAN MODELS ARE EQUIPPED WITH THIS SAFETY FEATURE. ARE CANADIAN LAWS STRICTER THAN OURS? I HAD THAT FEATURE ON EVERY CAR SINCE 1983.
I PURCHASED A 2005 HONDA ODESSEY. I REQUESTED A MOON ROOF AS A HONDA OPTION. I WAS NOT TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT AN OPTION ON THE MODEL THAT I HAD SELECTED. I WAS GIVEN AN AFTER MARKET MOON ROOF. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE AN OVER HEAD DVD PLAYER INSTALLED AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE MAIN OVERHEAD BEAM WAS CUT TO INSTALL THE MOON ROOF AND THAT WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE BEAM WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE DVD PLAYER. I BEGAN TO QUESTION THE QUALITY OF WORK THAT WAS DONE TO INSTALL THE MOON ROOF AND I WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS AFTER MARKET. I ASKED THE DEALER AND HONDA TO CERTIFY THAT THE INSTALLATION WAS SAFE. THEY BOTH REFUSED. I HAVE SINCE EXPLAINED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN TURN OVER SITUATIONS. HONDA AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. I AM VERY CONCERN ABOUT THE INSTALLATION AND I WANT HONDA TO TAKE BACK THE VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT HONDA BUT I WAS SOLD A HONDA VEHICLE WITH AN AFTER MARKET MOON ROOF. NOT ONLY THIS BUT I DON'T HAVE A HONDA WARRANTY ON THE MOONROOF. THE ONLY WARRANTY I HAVE IS WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I AM CURRENTLY PREGNANT AND I ALREADY HAVE 2 CHILDREN. THE MINIVAN IS A VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY. I DON'T THINK THE MINI VAN IS SAFE IN CASE OF A CRASH OR ROLL OVER. I SAY THIS BECAUSE IF THE BEAM IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD A DVD PLAYER THEN IN CASE OF A ROLL OVER OR CRASH THE ROOF WILL COME IN ON ME AND MY CHILDREN. *AK *BF *NM
