I brought my car to the dealership not even 2 years ago. They said they fixed my ABS moduler and the EPC updated the software and replaced the ABS moduler if they did then why is my car shutting down and causing me trouble and having issues. I just need this car fixed the correct way. They didnt fix it due to the way they went about it. I need my car fix due to my 8 year old daughter I take yo school and also taking my fiance to PT due to a terrible accident. I need answer or someone to answer why my car is acting up if they fixed it.. Thank You Dawn

THE CARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND LOST POWER ON THE FREEWAY. I TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED AND A DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE . I HAD JUST GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK BEFORE AND HAD THE BACK BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED FOR $500 DOLLARS AND THE OIL CHANGED FOR ANOTHER $100. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE SPEED REDUCED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVE BODY HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO DECELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ALL ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE BRAKES WOULD MAKE A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE ABS, THE BRACKET AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURERS RECALL WHERE THE ABS CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH BESIDE A SEMI, THE CAR SLIGHTLY (NOT ENOUGH TO TAKE ME OUT OF MY LANE) PULLS TO THE SIDE & DING! DING! DING! 'ABS' & 'ESP' LIGHTS COME ON & THE EMERGENCY 'BRAKE' LIGHT ON THE DASH STARTS FLASHING. NO ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS THAT I NOTICED ON THE NEXT 15MILES TO WORK, JUST THE DASH LIGHTS. UPON ARRIVING AT WORK I PARK & SHUT THE CAR OFF. RESTART IT. AND EVERYTHING APPEARS AS THOU IT WAS AN ABERRATION. NO LIGHTS. NO DINGING. FROM A CAR THAT GOES NUTS WHEN YOU'RE SIMPLY JUST LOW ON WIPER-FLUID, IT COULD BE SOMETHING MAJOR LIKE AN ABS MODULE OR 'SPEED SENSOR' (FROM WHAT 100S OF OTHER OWNERS SAY ONLINE) OR SOMETHING 'MINOR' LIKE A CORRODED FUSE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WHILE I'M WINCING AT THE POTENTIAL REPAIR COSTS, I'M IN FEAR OF & DREADING MY DRIVE HOME THIS EVENING. I'M GLAD NO ONE WAS HURT THIS TIME BUT AS WE ALL KNOW, THE ODDS ARE SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT. WHATEVER IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM FOR NUMEROUS VW OWNERS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF ABS & TRACTION CONTROL ARE MANDATORY FEATURES ON A CAR VIA THE NHTSA, IT STANDS TO REASON THAT RAMPANT PROBLEMS SUCH AS VW JETTA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING IS A MANUFACTURER'S QUALITY ISSUE. IT'S NOT NORMAL WEAR & TEAR. I ACTUALLY TRUST THE NHTSA TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS HERE; FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS & MAKE VW FIX IT. THE ONLY OTHER OPTION THE NHTSA HAS IS TO IGNORE A BLATANT PROBLEM WITH THE ABS & TRACTION STABILITY CONTROLS OF A MASS PRODUCTION FAMILY SEDAN/VEHICLE. *TR

AS I WAS TRAVELING FROM FT COLLINS BACK TO DENVER ON THE I25 FREEWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL ALL I HEARD WAS THE ENGINE REVVING BUT NO POWER. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE MY CAR SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY BY SHEER LUCK OF THE TIME OF DAY THIS HAPPENED AND THEN PROMPTLY CALLED A TOWING COMPANY. *JS

VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING AT STOPS AT ABOUT 55000 MILES. VEHICLE AT COMPLETE STOP, TAKE FOOT OF BRAKE AND IT EITHER (1) ROLLS THEN MOVES FORWARD, (2) LURCHES/SHUTTERS AND MOVES FORWARD OR (3) STALLS BEFORE PUTTING FOOT ON GAS. THE STALLING HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT IN THE LAST MONTH AND ON MAY 31 2013, THE VEHICLE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND ON ONE OCCASION DID NOT RESTART AFTER APPROXIMATELY HALF DOZEN ATTEMPTS BUT FINALLY MANAGED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE IS GOING IN FOR SERVICE TO HOPEFULLY IDENTIFY AND FIX THIS ISSUE ON JUNE 3 2013. THE LURCHING FORWARD CAN BE DRASTIC AND THE POTENTIAL FOR "JUMPING" FORWARD INTO ANOTHER CAR AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IS NOW A REAL CONCERN. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

WHEN AT A STOP SIGN OR AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKE, THERE IS A LONG LAG BEFORE THE ACCELERATOR WILL ENGAGE. ONCE WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, I LET THE BRAKE PEDAL GO AND ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR BECAUSE THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE CAR ROLLED INTO THE ONCOMING LANES AND ONLY WHEN I REACHED THE THIRD LANE DID THE ACCELERATOR ENGAGE. AN ONCOMING LARGE PICKUP WAS ACCELERATING AWAY FROM HIS TRAFFIC LIGHT AND ALMOST BROADSIDED MY CAR. HE APPARENTLY DIDN'T SEE ME UNTIL ALMOST UPON ME. THIS LONG LAG BETWEEN LETTING THE BRAKE GO AND PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE BOARDWALK VW PEOPLE OF RICHARDSON, TX AS WELL AS THE UNIVERSITY VW PEOPLE IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM SAID THE THIS WAS BECAUSE BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATION DEPENDED ON HYDRAULIC PRESSURE THAT IS SHARED BETWEEN THEM. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY HAVE REPORTED THIS TO VW AND VW SAID THAT THIS WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY ON PURPOSE. I THINK THAT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE FAILURES OCCURRED SPONTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
