When you use cruise control going downhill, your car accelerates to about 8 mph faster than the speed you set, and makes a loud grinding noise while doing this. You've noticed this behavior in your 2017 Corolla but not in other vehicles with cruise control. This may involve inspection or adjustment of the cruise control system and engine components that engage during downhill deceleration.
