Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Dodge Charger Police vehicles, 2007-2013 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008-2013 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, and 2013 RAM 2500 and 3500 vehicles. The affected vehicles have a 220 amp alternator that may suddenly fail.

Risk: If the alternator fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. There is also the possibility that the alternator may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the alternator with a revised alternator, free of charge. The recall began on December 23, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S68.

Your truck experiences violent shaking at highway speeds when hitting bumps — a phenomenon known as "death wobble" — forcing you to pull over and slow down to stop it. You've already replaced the steering gear box stabilizer/brace, but the problem persists. Other potential fixes are very expensive, and you believe this should be a recall issue affecting multiple trucks of this model year.

Your tie rod on the passenger side fell off while you were driving. This is a critical steering component that connects your wheel to the steering system. You had to replace it yourself after a repair shop couldn't help. The fix involves removing the old tie rod and installing a new one with proper fasteners.

Your truck's front end develops severe vibration and loss of control (known as "death wobble") when hitting bumps on the highway between 40-65 mph, causing the front end to jump uncontrollably until you nearly stop. You've replaced most front-end components except the drag link steering component, which still has the factory "Y" style part that Dodge reportedly replaced with a "T" style in later versions. The fix will likely involve replacing the drag link steering component with the updated design to resolve the wobble.

Your 4x4 actuator is clicking on and off repeatedly, which has already damaged your transfer case once and requires replacement. Now the problem is happening again. Your heater blows cold air on the driver's side while blowing hot air on the passenger's side. Your headlights and dashboard lights keep flickering between bright and dim. The service light keeps coming on and off even though you've completed all recommended services. The underlying issue may be related to an electrical or control module problem that needs diagnostic testing and potential replacement.
