NHTSA Campaign: 25V826000

Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Ram Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel cluster display to be blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems," and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."

Risk: An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or gear selection, increases the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and update the instrument panel software or replace the instrument panel cluster, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are B4C and B8C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 4, 2025.

Your truck's ABS, cruise control, skid control, and check engine warning lights have turned on 4 times in less than 4,000 miles, disabling your anti-lock brakes, cruise control, 4-wheel drive, and anti-skid system. The diagnostic code shows U1412, and the dealer has already replaced the rear speed sensors, but the problem keeps happening. This issue appears to be affecting multiple owners of this truck model. The repair will likely involve further diagnosis of the electrical system, possibly including wiring, connectors, or other speed sensors beyond the rear units.

Your truck's navigation and GPS system stopped working. When you took it to the dealer, they couldn't reproduce the problem during their diagnostic check and returned the vehicle to you. However, the GPS/navigation still isn't working, and since other vehicle systems depend on GPS to function properly, this affects more than just directions. The dealer has indicated they need additional evidence beyond your videos to confirm there's an issue.

Your instrument cluster display went completely blank while driving, but came back on within a minute. No other vehicle systems were affected and there was no crash or fire. The fix may involve updating the instrument cluster software or replacing the cluster module if the problem persists.

Your LT235/80R17 all-terrain tires failed at just 625 miles, despite being specifically selected for ranch use and costing $995. When you brought the truck to the dealer, they blamed you for the failure rather than honoring the warranty, and two independent tire shops have since told you the tires are low quality.

You've experienced two tire failures on your new 2026 Ram 3500 dually — one at 625 miles and another at 4,100 miles — both involving the original Goodyear tires. After the second tire began leaking significantly while driving, you replaced all six tires with new ones from a tire shop and removed the original set due to safety concerns. The dealer has indicated the original tires may not be appropriate for your truck.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2026 Ram 3500 displayed multiple critical safety warnings simultaneously (Check Engine, ABS, Brake, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking) shortly after purchase. The dealership found faulty rear wheel speed sensors and outdated software in the electronic control systems were causing multiple safety features to fail at once, including braking stability, traction control, and emergency braking assistance. Even after replacement sensors and software updates, there's a reported risk that replacement sensors can fail again without warning, potentially disabling your safety systems without any dashboard alert. This repair will likely involve replacing the rear wheel speed sensors and reprogramming the Body Control Module software.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your instrument cluster and odometer flashed on and off intermittently, making them difficult to read while driving, and a "ParkSense Unavailable – Service Required" message appeared. On another occasion, a trailer-related prompt appeared on your dashboard even though no trailer was connected and you didn't press any buttons. The dealer found electrical communication faults between your vehicle's computer modules and performed software updates, though a separate recall repair for the trailer tow module is still pending parts.

Filed: Feb 2026

Your ABS warning light and several other warning lights came on while driving, with a "DANGER" message flashing repeatedly on your dashboard. The dealer applied a software update to fix it, but the problem happened again. Even after an engineer inspected the vehicle, the exact cause couldn't be identified and the issue remains unresolved. Resolving this will likely require diagnostic testing and possibly a software reflash or deeper electrical troubleshooting by the dealer.

Filed: Feb 2026

You're experiencing a brake system issue that requires service, and you made an appointment to have it repaired. However, the dealership canceled your appointment, saying they can only order one set of brake parts per week and must prioritize other vehicles on their lot first, placing you on a waiting list instead. Since you frequently tow a fifth-wheel trailer with this truck, the brake repair should be prioritized for safety. The fix will likely involve replacing brake components like pads, rotors, or fluid to restore proper braking function.

Your DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) gauge is reading incorrectly, bouncing between full, half, empty, and back to full even after you've refilled it with DEF. The system keeps warning that it will force your truck into limp mode, which severely limits engine power and drivability. Even after a repair attempt, the problem returned within a few miles.

While driving, your truck suddenly displayed multiple warning lights including check engine, 4WD, ABS, and park sensors. The dealer replaced the rear wheel speed sensor, but the problem continued — your transmission wouldn't recognize when the gear selector was in park. Roadside assistance had to disconnect your battery to shut off the engine, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it awaited further diagnosis. A complete repair may require transmission software diagnostics, electrical system testing, or replacement of additional speed sensors or wiring.

Filed: Dec 2025

Your truck displayed a "Service Exhaust System" warning message within the first 2,000 miles and a check engine light shortly after. You've noticed a significant drop in fuel economy (from 18-19 mpg to 12-14 mpg), unusually high exhaust temperatures, and excessive fuel and DEF consumption. The dealer diagnosed a faulty Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) control module that needs replacement, but the part is restricted by Stellantis and must be ordered through a special process with no guaranteed timeline or communication updates. The repair will involve replacing the faulty EGT control module once the part arrives from Stellantis.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2026 Ram 3500 is subject to a recall (26V059000) for an exterior lighting electrical issue, but the dealership doesn't have the replacement parts in stock. The manufacturer is only supplying one part per week to dealers, causing significant delays for the recall repair. This delay has exceeded what would be considered a reasonable timeframe for getting the recall completed.
