Your truck experienced steering component failure while turning on a forest service road, requiring an expensive tow and repair. Additionally, your driver's side headlight low beam stopped working due to a power issue traced to the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), which the owner reports is a common problem in 2006 and newer Ram trucks. Both failures occurred without warning and could pose serious safety risks, especially when towing or driving at night. Repairs may involve replacing steering components and diagnosing or replacing the TIPM unit.

Filed: Mar 2022

Your truck has been making a popping sound when turning or driving over bumps, and it wanders and jolts across the highway even after extensive front-end repairs. While driving at 65 mph, the truck vibrated severely, you felt popping under your foot, and something detached and hit your windshield. The wandering and jolting have become so bad the truck is difficult to drive safely. The underlying suspension or steering issue needs to be diagnosed and repaired, as it may have caused additional damage throughout the vehicle.

Filed: Oct 2021

Your check engine light comes on and off without a clear reason, and you've had the computer replaced multiple times only to have it fail again within a week. The real culprit appears to be a damaged engine wiring harness that has destroyed 5 computers so far. While driving, your engine suddenly shuts off without warning, your power steering stops working, and the vehicle only restarts while rolling—this has happened several times on the road.

criticalELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Filed: Jun 2021

Your truck unexpectedly shuts off while driving at highway speeds and at stop signs, and won't restart for at least an hour afterward. This has happened multiple times since February 2020, creating dangerous situations where you're stranded in traffic lanes. The hazard lights also stop working when the engine dies. The issue has been diagnosed as a faulty TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), which may require replacement to restore reliable operation.

Filed: Aug 2019

While making a right turn at a traffic light, your vehicle's passenger side tie rod suddenly separated from its socket, causing you to lose steering control. The dealer confirmed the failure and replaced all steering components. This happened at 56,256 miles, after the warranty had expired.

criticalUNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Filed: Jun 2019

Your truck lost throttle response while merging onto an interstate highway, forcing you to pull over. The throttle position sensor (TPS) has been replaced multiple times, but the problem persists—your engine won't respond to accelerator input, leaving you with no power to drive. This represents a serious safety hazard that requires immediate diagnosis and repair of the fuel injection and throttle control system.
