I own a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle is covered under the EcoDiesel Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) Settlement extended warranty. Since the update in January 2025, the truck has suffered repeated EGR system failures and related warranty failures.

Two dealerships and fca are slow walking getting parts to consumers for vehicles that pose a sever fire hazard with restricting the main part to only one per week per dealership.

Check engine light was on reading cylinder 8 misfire. Upon investigation from dealer and local repair shop, the issue is a failed camshaft and lifters. All maintenance was done on the truck by the dealership I purchased the truck.

While the engine is running the check engine light leads to a misfiring of cylinder 5 further diagnosing and consultation with dealer identifies a recurring problem on this 5.7 hemi engine of the lifter bearing failing and locking up. The lock-up wears out the camshaft causing the misfire. The dealer said they know the problem and do lot's of these repairs.

2016 ram ecodiesel 60,000 miles I recently accepted the offer from ram for emissions recall on my ecodiesel. I agreed to it thinking that with the extended warranty that they offered that my problems would be taken care of. Part of the recall was to have the aem update done to your truck.

The epa required update to my 2016 ram 1500 eco diesel has caused two issues and the first is a big safety issue affecting thousands of eco diesel owners. 2016 ecodiesel has a malfunctioning egr cooler and leaks coolant into the exhaust system thus causing several issues: cel code p20ee, loss of coolant at a rate of 2 gallons per week, dpf issue & def injector issues. Ram customer care says I should just drive it and "monitor" the coolant level and I get to pay for that at 20.00 a gallon at two gallons per week until january 2020 or later.

Ecodiesel model pickup while towing our 4,000 lb travel trailer at 50 MPH on a state highway, 90 miles into a camping/fishing trip, suddenly displayed symbol and message alerts on the dash and at the same time lost engine power. I was able to keep enough speed to pull onto a dirt side road within the next couple hundred yards, then coasted to a stop.

After receiving the required emission update for the eco diesel, the truck now has severe performance issues. There is a 5 to 8 second lag in acceleration, this has nearly caused several accidents while trying to merge into traffic or enter traffic. I have reported the issue to dealers with no solution or concern.

When starting engine in the morning or in cold weather (65'f and colder) the engine is unresponsive to the throttle for up to 6 seconds. This is extremely dangerous and makes for a serious safety deficiency for the driver and passengers and the public. On coming traffic has had to slam on breaks to avoid collisions as I have had to pull out in traffic.

After the recall, my ram ecodiesel has no power at all, it is dangerous to drive until it gets up to operating temperature. Even then, it is very sluggish, sometimes dangerously slow like when turning left with on-coming traffic. This was not the case before the aem recall due to the emissions issue.

Vehicle was in a settlement regarding the ecodiesel engine. To get claim processed a software change was required. After getting the software change at the dealership, the truck now has an extreme acceleration delay especially right after starting.

I took my ecodiesel truck to my local fca dealership and they installed the approved emission modification (aem). After I received my truck back from the dealership, there was a very noticeable increased throttle response lag from a stop. After applying wide open throttle (wot), the truck would not respond for 3-4 seconds.

Dangerous and inconsistent engine power. After update of ecu for emissions (v08) control recall the vehicle is not safely drivable. When trying to pull out or away acceleration just doesn't happen, truck fails to move and is subject to being hit.

Fca ecodiesel emissions recall - aem software update was performed on my 2016 ram ecodiesel (june 3, 2019) by servicing dealer. Software update was not supposed to impact vehicle performance, drivability, fuel economy, etc. This is not the case as all indicated characteristics have been negatively affected by this update.

Vehicle was running. Serious oil leak formed between the top of the engine block and the oil filter adapter (this part also houses two sensors and an oil cooler). This leak is so severe oil pools on top of the block and runs down the back of the engine directly onto transmission bell housing and exhaust piping.

To Whom It May Concern: In March 2024 I purchased a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Shortly after purchasing the truck I discovered there was an open recall for the vehicle (14Z46182 Safety Recall Z46), I had the recall completed on April 10, 2024; The High Pressure Fuel Pump, Injector Fuel Tubes, and Fuel Filter were replaced by Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep.

20v-475 or w58 recall to replace reluctor wheel has been public since august. To date, fca has provided no info about timing of a possible solution. A failure of the crankshaft reluctor wheel due to delamination results in instant engine failure.

Truck performance following fca v08 emissions recall dramatically affected. Truck poses extreme risk to operators and surrounding motorists during cold & warmup cycles. Substantial power loss during this time making merging into traffic/accelerating at a normal pace dangerous until truck reaches full operating temperature.

After getting the epa required emissions recall completed (v08) this truck is unsafe to operate when the engine is cold. There is a long delay in throttle response (3-5 seconds from the time I hit the throttle from a stop until the time the truck has any sort of response) which makes it extremely unsafe to pull out into traffic or cross traffic lanes.

After software update for emissions issue truck fails to accelerate in a safe manner when engine is cold. When accelerator pedal is pressed it takes up 5 seconds for engine RPM to increase to the point that the turbo charger will cut in. This cause the truck to enter an intersection with out enough speed to safely complete the transition though the intersection if traffic is coming.

The engine on this vehicle has failed, it has 51,000 miles on it and involved in a class action lawsuit that closed in 2022. This truck was bought in 2023 with dealership not disclosing all of the failures in the vehicle. It is at a local shop requiring $16,000 worth of engine repair and we are demanding from Dodge to have help with repairs.

My truck was in the dealer for a 66A recall on the crankshaft positioning sensor. The recall states the magnetic material attached to the tone wheel if lost the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulse and cam timing. The fix was a PCM reprogram to maintain engine operation if signal is lost.

Purchased the vehicle used in 2020, and shortly thereafter, noticed the engine idling rough. Determined that the throttle body was loose on the (plastic ) intake manifold. Attempted to tighten the throttle body screws per manufacturer torque specs, but they were stripped.

Good afternoon, I have filed multiple complaints regarding recall 22V-406 (11501200, 113003170). It has been over 1.5 years since the recall was issued and there is still not resolution. The NHTSA site mentions if there isn't a fix within a reasonable time, then to contact you again. 1.5 years does not seem reasonable when it comes to a safety hazard. The last update I received from NHTSA was letters will be mailed 12/14/23 and wanted to confirm this timing hasn't slipped. Exhaust manifold bolts broken. My truck has roughly 46,000 miles on it and yesterday upon cold start up I heard an exhaust leak coming from the exhaust manifold on the passenger side. Upon further inspection I noticed at least one exhaust manifold bolt head broken off, there may be more as I didn't investigate any further.

FIRST TIME PARKED WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND WENT IN POST OFFICE GOT BACK IN TRUCK. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK OFF THE HEAD OF THE BOLT ON THE REAR CYLINDER ON EACH SIDE CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE MANIFOLD ON THE 5.7L HEMI. THE DEALERSHIP SAID ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THOSE MOTORS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL.

ANOTHER RAM ECODIESEL POST-AEM SAFETY CONCERN. DID THE AEM RECALL AND INSTANTLY BECAME A SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. EXTREME THROTTLE LAG OF 4+ SECONDS, EVEN IF FLOORING IT. TOO MANY CLOSE CALLS TO LIST MYSELF AND I DON'T LET ME WIFE DRIVE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HER TRUCK!!). While driving truck the engine light came on and there was a loud noise. Brought it to shop and they said the lifter slipped out of plastic tray it was in and messed of the camshaft. Who uses plastic in a hemi engine that gets so hot.

The 3.0 eco diesel has a known defect involving the oil pickup tube clogging up with soot and diesel particles which then causes catastrophic damage to the engine and they blow up due to engine bearing failure which could lead to a safety issue while operating the vehicle on the roadways there are numerous videos online regarding this issue and it needs address and mopar needs to correct this and recall all the trucks and replace the engines and redesign the oil pickup tube to prevent the oil pickup tube from clogging up it’s unfair to the owners of the trucks and so many of the trucks are being scrapped due to the engine failure issues new engines cost $11-$18,000 to replace

The common hemi tech where lifter bearing seize up and eats the come. So common you can buy top end rebuild kits just for tha reason.

Exhaust manifold bolts have broken on passenger side. This is a common known issue and ram will not fix the design flaw. They will fix if its still covered under power train warranty .

When the vehicle's HVAC is activated a very strong smell of exhaust fumes permeates the cab of the vehicle. A haze from the exhaust also enters into the cab. Both of these occurs whether the vehicle is stopped or moving.

Eco diesel engine was reprogrammed by ram for an emissions recall. Engine does not operate like it did before the software update. When cold, there is a noticeable acceleration lag.

I bought the truck new and was very happy with it until the emission update. Once I had the update done to the truck its was a total different truck. It doesn't have as much power and it has major turbo lag when accelerating especially when cold.

2016 ram ecodiesel has had the required epa compliance update to engine and transmission ecms. All rams are having lefter problems. When you start the truck, it sounds like it's ticking until it finally stops. The sound is when the truck is stationary and moving.

Since the fca ecm re-flash, my truck turbo lag is now deadly, when the engine gets past the turbo lag it will smoke the tires, but don't back off or you start all over again with turbo lag. Ive pulled out into traffic and waited for the lag to catch up, nearly being hit almost every time I drive it. Forget driving up hills.

After having the emissions recall applied to my truck, I have lost acceleration from a stopped position. The throttle lag is dangerous and unpredictable. This makes turning through traffic very unsafe.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. When the engine was started, the vehicle failed to accelerate in a timely manner when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Also, the vehicle did not accelerate immediately in traffic.

After having the required aem recall flashed to my ecodiesel ecu the truck has serious performance issues that did not exist before. I have almost been hit a couple of times because of horrible lag. I have had 2 ecodiesel trucks, a 2014 and this 2016 and this kind of scary lack of power was never an issue before the epa settlement update.

Engine seized up.

Lifter started knocking on highway going 70 MPH. There are 3 trucks in the shop at the sesame time with same problem. 2013-2015 they recalled the trucks.

When starting my vehicle I noticed a ticking sound. After idling a couple minutes the ticking would get quieter. Recently I can still hear the ticking while driving.
