NHTSA Campaign: 15V032000
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.
Risk: An electrical short can cause a vehicle fire.
Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The recall began on February 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
NHTSA Campaign: 12V068000
Component: TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 MURANO AND ROGUE VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM NOVEMBER 23, 2011 THROUGH JANUARY 11, 2012. DURING ASSEMBLY, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) WAS NOT ACTIVATED. THUS, THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 138,TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM.
Risk: A NON-ACTIVE TPMS CANNOT WARN A DRIVER THAT A TIRE IS UNDERINFLATED. UNDERINFLATED TIRES CAN RESULT IN TIRE OVERLOADING AND OVERHEATING, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A BLOWOUT AND POSSIBLE CRASH.
Fix: ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE STILL IN DEALER INVENTORY. DEALERS HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO ACTIVATE ALL OF THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS.

While driving at 55 MPH, your engine suddenly lost power and then seized completely, even though no warning lights appeared beforehand. You noticed black smoke coming from under the hood and had to coast to the side of the road. After the dealer couldn't identify the problem, you had spark plugs and boots replaced, but when you restarted the vehicle, you heard abnormal engine noises and the check engine and TPMS warning lights came on. The problem has gotten worse over time, and your car is also consuming much more gasoline than normal. Fixing this will likely require a full engine inspection or possibly engine replacement, depending on what caused the seizure.

Your car's torque converter clutch solenoid isn't working properly, which causes the engine RPM to rev up while your vehicle is actually slowing down. This creates an unusual mismatch between engine speed and wheel speed that you'll notice while driving. The issue likely requires replacing or repairing the torque converter clutch solenoid, which controls how the transmission engages with the engine.

Your car is making a rattling noise, and the dealership says you need a new subframe even though your vehicle has never been in an accident and only has 81,000 miles. This suggests the subframe may have developed structural issues or damage from normal wear. The repair will likely involve removing and replacing the vehicle's subframe assembly.

Vehicle Speed Control,engine,fuel/propulsion System →2 issues
Your car makes a high-pitched whining sound and suddenly loses power while driving, with the engine RPMs spiking and staying elevated. When you press the gas pedal—even fully to the floor—the vehicle won't accelerate and eventually comes to a complete stop. You may also notice rough idling at stoplights, higher-than-normal idle RPMs, shaking while driving (especially at highway speeds), and sluggish acceleration that gets worse the longer you drive. The issue likely involves a fuel system or engine control problem that's causing improper fuel delivery or air intake.

While driving on the highway at 70 mph, you heard a whining noise and suddenly lost acceleration. Even with the gas pedal pressed all the way down, your car slowed to 40 mph and continued losing speed. This could indicate an issue with your engine's ability to produce power or your transmission's ability to transfer it to the wheels.

Electrical System →1 issue
Your 2012 Nissan Rogue caught fire while parked about 6 hours after midnight, with no one inside the vehicle. Your key fob alarm sounded before the fire started, but the fire department had to break in and extinguish it. The fire completely burned the interior and the vehicle cannot be driven, though the exact cause hasn't been confirmed and the vehicle hasn't been inspected or repaired yet. A full electrical system inspection and potential wiring harness replacement will be needed to determine what caused the fire.

Steering,electrical System,air Bags →1 issue
Your airbags have stopped working, which is a serious safety concern. When you brake, your steering wheel shakes badly—it was repaired once but the problem returned a week later. Additionally, when the slippery road indicator comes on, your car won't accelerate above 25 mph until you turn the engine off, wait a few seconds, and restart it; your O2 sensor needs replacement to fix this. You also have an oil leak. These issues may require airbag system diagnostics, steering suspension inspection, O2 sensor replacement, and engine seal repair.

Fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
You're noticing a strong gasoline smell inside your car's cabin, and your fuel consumption has become unusually high—you're only getting less than 100 miles on a full tank. The persistent gas odor is concerning and suggests a potential fuel system leak or issue. A fuel system inspection and repair will likely be needed to identify and fix the leak or malfunction causing both the smell and excessive fuel consumption.
