Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Murano, Pathfinder, and INFINITI QX60 vehicles. One or both front brake caliper assemblies may have reduced strength and could break. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk: A broken front brake caliper can cause a loss of front brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the front brake caliper assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD137 and PD138.

Your engine shut down twice while driving with your children inside—once on an uphill road and once in traffic—after warning lights appeared showing 'transmission error' and 'engine power reduced.' In both cases, you were unable to shift into Neutral, leaving you stuck and unable to move the car to safety. This issue could potentially be caused by a problem with your engine, transmission, or fuel system that's causing an automatic shutdown.

While merging on the highway at 65 mph, your gas pedal became stuck to the floor and wouldn't release. You had to keep constant pressure on the brakes to slow the vehicle, and every time you lifted your foot, the car would accelerate again. Even after bringing the car to a stop, the gas pedal remained stuck and the car wouldn't shift into Park until you turned off the engine completely. This could involve checking the gas pedal assembly, fuel system components, or engine control electronics for mechanical or electrical faults.

Your Pathfinder sometimes won't engage reverse properly—instead of going backward, it shifts into neutral without warning. When this happens, your rearview camera fails to turn on, making it unsafe to back up since you can't see behind you. You've also noticed your odometer is advancing faster than it should based on your actual driving, which suggests an electronics glitch. These problems started shortly after you bought the vehicle with low mileage, and together they create a serious safety issue when reversing. Getting this fixed will likely require a transmission control module reprogramming and a rearview camera system diagnostic to restore both functions.

Your 2025 Pathfinder's idle stop feature (which automatically shuts off the engine when stopped) isn't working. The dealer confirmed this is an electrical problem related to power supply or voltage but couldn't fix it, and Nissan hasn't provided a solution yet. You're currently driving a vehicle with a known electrical issue that the manufacturer hasn't resolved.

Your third-row side window shattered while you were stopped at a traffic light, with no accident or impact involved. This suggests a potential defect in the window glass or its mounting that caused it to fail on its own. The window will need to be replaced.

Your windshield is causing double vision and distortion, especially at night when looking at lights. The problem gets worse the further away the object is, but improves when you look through the top of the windshield. Since your car is brand new with no visible damage, this may be a manufacturing defect in the glass itself. The dealership may need to replace the windshield to resolve the optical distortion.

Filed: Mar 2026

Your accelerator pedal has gotten stuck at full throttle three separate times because it's sliding behind the floor mat, even though the mat appears to be in its correct position. This causes your car to accelerate uncontrollably until you manually free the pedal from under the mat. You may need to replace or modify the floor mat, or have the pedal assembly checked to prevent it from moving behind the mat.

Your Pathfinder pulls sharply and unpredictably to the left or right at freeway speeds without warning, creating a serious safety risk of sideswiping other vehicles. The dealership believes the Bridgestone Alenza Sport AS tires may be the cause but refused to replace them. Nissan Customer Care denied your buyback request and offered only one month's payment as compensation. The dealership has acknowledged similar complaints on other vehicles, suggesting this may be a widespread issue. Resolving this will likely require a tire replacement, wheel alignment check, or investigation into potential suspension or steering components causing the pulling.

Power Train,unknown Or Other1 issue
criticalPOWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Filed: Feb 2026

Your 2025 Nissan Pathfinder is losing engine power without warning while driving on the highway, causing it to enter limp mode with a "Engine Malfunction – Power Reduced" warning on the dashboard. When this happens, your vehicle suddenly can't accelerate and struggles to maintain speed, which is dangerous in traffic — this has occurred at least three times since January. The dealership has been unable to reproduce the problem during service visits, but the warning message and repeated incidents suggest an underlying engine or powertrain fault. A complete diagnostic scan and potential replacement of engine control modules, sensors, or fuel system components may be needed to identify and fix the root cause.

Vehicle Speed Control,engine1 issue
criticalVEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE
Filed: Jan 2026

Your engine stalled completely while driving on a snowy highway in extremely cold weather, after briefly showing a 'reduced power' error message. The engine lost all power, forcing you to steer to safety in near whiteout conditions—a dangerous situation that nearly caused a collision. Your vehicle had been to the dealer before for a similar issue, but they couldn't find any diagnostic codes to explain what happened. Fixing this will likely require the dealer to investigate the engine's fuel delivery, ignition system, and cold-weather sensor performance.

Engine,engine And Engine Cooling1 issue
criticalENGINE,ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Filed: Jan 2026

While driving uphill, your 2025 Pathfinder suddenly lost power and wouldn't restart on the first try. After restarting, the transmission wouldn't shift properly and the vehicle lost power again. The dealer diagnosed a failed engine control module (ECM) and replaced it to fix the issue.

Engine1 issue
criticalENGINE
Filed: Jan 2026

Your engine lost power while driving and the vehicle went into reduced speed mode, creating a dangerous situation. This happened 3 times in a row on a very cold day. After restarting, the warning clears temporarily, but the problem comes back randomly while you're driving. The dealer cleared the code but couldn't identify the root cause, leaving the issue unresolved.

NHTSA #: 11711631
Air Bags1 issue
criticalAIR BAGS
CrashFiled: Oct 2025

You were involved in a multi-vehicle accident where your Pathfinder was hit from behind and then struck the car in front of you, resulting in significant impacts on both ends of your vehicle. Your airbags failed to deploy during the collision, and you suffered facial injuries including a nosebleed lasting about an hour and facial swelling and bruising. This airbag failure prevented the safety system from protecting you as designed during a serious crash.

NHTSA #: 11692205
Back Over Prevention1 issue
highBACK OVER PREVENTION
Filed: Mar 2026

Your back-up warning system has a logic error: when you put the car in reverse, the front parking sensors activate and beep instead of just the rear sensors. This means if a car is driving behind you, you won't get a warning because the system is focused on obstacles in front. The constant beeping for front obstacles can desensitize you to the alerts, potentially causing you to miss a vehicle actually approaching from behind and back into it.

NHTSA #: 11726282
Visibility1 issue
highVISIBILITY
Filed: Mar 2026

Your 2025 Pathfinder's hatch glass shattered while parked in your garage with no apparent impact. The dealer couldn't identify a cause and didn't repair it. You've learned that other owners have reported similar unexpected glass breakage in the rear hatch, front windshield, and sunroof, possibly due to thin tempered glass manufacturing. Nissan is aware of the issue and says a regional representative will contact you about assistance, which may involve glass replacement or inspection.

highUNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER
Filed: Mar 2026

Your driver's side mirror vibrates excessively while driving, which reduces your visibility of surrounding traffic and makes it hard to see vehicles behind you. The dealership replaced the mirror once at no cost, but the vibration got worse after the replacement and they refused to replace it again. The mirror likely needs to be replaced or its mounting hardware adjusted to eliminate the vibration.

Electrical System,back Over Prevention1 issue
highELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION
Filed: Jan 2026

Your backup camera has a 2-3 second delay when you shift into reverse, showing a still image instead of a live video feed right away. This creates a safety risk because you might think you're seeing real-time video when the image is actually outdated, which could lead to accidents while backing into parking spots. The fix will likely involve updating the camera system software or inspecting the camera and its connection to the display unit.

Visibility/wiper1 issue
highVISIBILITY/WIPER
Filed: Jan 2026

Your driver's side mirror vibrates excessively when driving faster than 30 MPH, and the problem gets worse on highways and over bumps, making it difficult to see clearly. This issue appears across multiple 2025 Pathfinder Platinum models at varying severity levels. Nissan has acknowledged this is a known issue but claims it's normal operation, though the vibration significantly impacts visibility and safety. The fix will likely involve inspecting and adjusting the mirror mounting bracket or replacing the mirror assembly.

NHTSA #: 11708426
Forward Collision Avoidance1 issue
highFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Nov 2025

Your Forward Collision Avoidance system failed while you were driving at 70 MPH, causing the vehicle to slow down automatically and disengage cruise control. The dealer replaced the front radar, but the problem happened again, so they then replaced the front lane departure camera. Nissan says the warning light may activate in direct sunlight and that this is normal operation. The issue occurred around 9,000 miles.

NHTSA #: 11697900
Seats1 issue
mediumSEATS
Filed: Sep 2025

Your driver's seat doesn't have enough padding, making it uncomfortable during longer drives. You had to shift your position while driving on the highway to find a more comfortable spot, which caused you to drift into another lane—fortunately without an accident. A mechanic can inspect the seat cushion and may recommend adding seat padding or foam inserts to improve comfort and support.
