2015 Nissan Altima Transmission Problems

The transmission failed in my 2015 Nissan Altima. The check engine light is currently on due to a defective transmission. While I understand that Nissan extended the transmission warranty by two years or 24,000 miles following a class action lawsuit, I find this coverage completely unreasonable, insufficient and irresponsible, and most importantly unsafe.

I have a issue with my vehicle going into limp mode due to a safety issue with the tcm loosing programming with the transmission. This is a big safety as I'm on the hi way. Car will go from 75 MPH down to 20mph and can cause for severe car accident.

Driving down the us23/119 interstate near pikeville, ky the vehicle suddenly started decelerating from 60 MPH and would no longer allow acceleration. The vehicle speed kept decreasing until it was going less than 20 MPH and th driver had to pull off to the side of the road. After a tow to the nissan dealership, the problem was diagnosed to be a faulty transmission.

My 2015 nissan altima began stalling when I engaged the accelerator pedal. It stalled and eventually sounded as if it were struggling to shift gears began moving forward.

I have noticed that when pressing down on the the acceleration pedal there is sometimes an extended delay and the car does not move. It does not happen always, but I have read that alot people are having the same issues, and no one seems to know the cause. Personally, after putting the car in park, turning off and turning on the car seems to allow it to accelerate again.

When driving in hot weather or a long distance (60+miles) on streets and/or highway, the vehicle will not accelerate after coming to a complete stop. Stopping in bumper to bumper traffic, stop sign, stop light or even after having to do an emergency brake. The vehicle will not accelerate until 5-10 seconds have passed with the acceleration pedal pressed.

While waiting to turn left at an intersection for a break in oncoming traffic, the car will sometimes pause for 2-3 seconds when the accelerator is pressed, as if it were in neutral. This leaves me vulnerable to an accident when it finally kicks in and starts moving.

I was driving down the highway when my RPM gauge raced overv7000 then dropped to 0 and I lost all ability to control the transmission. Engine light came on afterwards.

I own 2015 nissan altima, I want NHTSA to be aware of serious problem with CVT transmission issue. I was on 95 south in washington dc when my vehicle hesitated for several seconds as I pushed my gas pedal all the way to the floor my car would slightly move forward. When I was trying to move to the far right shoulder, I was almost hit by mack truck.

Greetings, I am writing this complaint to notify the NHTSA of a deadly problem with the CVT transmission in the nissan altima! I have experienced this where the vehicle either turns off, stutters, or and hesitates for several seconds.

When placed on park the car still rolls forward or back and almost caused an accident. The car pulls when driving in a slow speed of 5-20 mpr and sometimes the floor on the driver side vibrate. Also, the electrical buttons located on the steering wheel are unable to be used when on parked or driving.

Unfortunately , this is my second altima 3.5. In 2015 nissan replaced my 2013 altima 3.5. I requested a replacement due to the vehicle having stuttering and jerking issues causing me to feel unsafe while driving.while driving if I had to decelerate it would hesitate and jerk or pull while I was accelerating.

I purchased my 2015 nissan altima brand new from the dealer. In sept 2015 at 25,000 miles, while driving in the middle of the freeway, the car slow down as if I was driving in a low gear. The RPM went up, but the car is moving very slow.

The CVT transmission in the 2015 frontier is probably going to fail after 50,000 miles. Most of the time it works, but on occasion it stutters on acceleration from a standstill, or vibrates excessively in general. When, not if, the transmission fails it could cause serious injury or death because the car did not accelerate when it was expected to.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,162. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

The CVT transmission was idling high when driving and while sitting at a light. Without realizing it was the transmission, the car would jerk while on the highway. As the car was driving tland with your foot on the gas it would idle to the top and when it came to a complete stop you put your foot on the gas and it wouldn't move for a few seconds then it would jerk into gear and take out.

Purchased the car in 2016 with 22,000 miles. At the 2nd oil change, nissan dealership said it needed the CVT reprogrammed. From that point until now, I have complained about juddering, shuddering, delayed acceleration, and just not going when the gas pedal was pressed.

I contacted the clay cooley dealership in dallas found at 39690 lyndon b johnson fwy south, dallas, tx 75237 on may 1st, 20202 via chat for an airbag service recall. After over a month contacting the dealership, I have not received one phone call or email from clay cooley nissan.

Will not accelerate from the start. Has a few second delay before acceleration occurs. This occurs when the car is stationary and need to start accelerating at a red light or stop sign.

The vehicle was parked. It rained and the water flooded in through some drain. Now the vehicle had 2 inches of water on the passenger side, front and back.

P17f1 CVT judder code...there are recalls on v6 nissan altimas from 2015, but it does not apply to the 4 cylinder models, yet the cars are having the same issues. Most likely the transmission will need replaced. Very costly for a 4 year old vehicle ($3500 from non-dealer, $4000 - $5000 dealer estimate).

While driving on a city street and on a highway it appears that my transmission is jerking and slipping.

Bought my altima used with 60k miles. At 80k it started exhibiting a delayed acceleration from total stop after some warmup period. With 106k miles, after warmup, it now always has delayed acceleration from any complete stop.

I keep reading the same exact story as mine, yet no recalls or help for this problem on so many nissan altimas. Sitting still at a redlight, light turns green, your foot is on accelerator but nothing happens for five to ten seconds. Finally the engine begins to rev.

Took my nissan to jeff wyler kings nissan in cincinnati, ohio on october 16th after I was made aware of a service bulletin to reprogram CVT transmission. While pressing gas my RPM goes up and down really fast even when I'm at a steady pace, the vehicle vibrates and jerks while and motion and has shut off twice while driving. The vibration occurs while in motion. Once while driving the car wouldn't drive over 20mph then it shut off.

Automaker refused to comply with the CVT recall.

While stopped at a light, pressed gas pedal and car wouldn’t go for some time. After it started going car wouldn’t shift out of first. I revved the car a few times to get it to shift then car wouldn’t shift out of second.

CVT failure and headlights failure

My engine service light is on and I have scanned with diagnostics. The code P0101, C119A, and C1155 with the most likely solution is to reprogram the power train control module(PCM).

Transmission went out with no warning. Ran fine the night before, the next morning I couldn't go anywhere. Shop has confirmed by code that is being thrown the transmission has went out, $2900 fix.

Transmission is out and the car only has 139,000 miles on it. I'm told the cost to replace the transmission is $4,000 on average. I'm told that mechanics are seeing major issues with the CVT transmission.

Moments car will not accelerate after stepping on gas pedal till one completely steps on it all the way down after coming to a stop. Car will roll first then jerk to accelerate after pressing gas pedal down fully. Notice the issue happens when car gets too hot from frequent stops.

I was in turning lane and when traffic cleared enough to turn I pushed gas, and nothing happened it was just idle, no RPM, no movement let go of gas pushed again barely moved and then didn’t go anywhere. Oncoming traffic at that point was approaching then it engaged and was fine! It did it two more times as I was sitting at light and once while just driving

While driving the vehicle the RPM's when very high but the car would not accelerate and had to pull over to get out of busy traffic, and when stopped at a light the car would not go when the accelerator was pushed, transmission problem

Driving home the other day on the highway my RPM will go high when pressing the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate and when I asked my mechanic what was the problem I was told me he's sure it's the transmission because it's a known issue with the nissan altima

I have a 2015 nissan altima n I bought the car with approximately 69k miles and it barely has 101k miles n my transmission is acting up but since it?s past 89k they said the recall in no good.

Car will frequently delay moving forward from a stop when pressing the gas. It take about 5 seconds for it to respond. Also the car does not automatically shift when accelerating.

When coming to a stop the car will shake a little bit and then when I go to accelerate through a light the transmission will slip and the car will just sit there for a few seconds and then the transmission will kick in and there will be a jerk and off I go. Every once in a while no matter how far put my foot down on the pedal it will not accelerate. This is extreamly dangerous as it has happened when crossing intersection in very busy traffic situations. I would say I probably would have been hit at least 5 times in this situation, but the drivers coming the other way saw I was having.

The transmission went out with less than 75000 miles motor mounts bad and air bags does not work. The vehicle was in motion on city street

My car kept cutting off when I am driving. It gives no warning on when it going to turn off. Very dangerous can get a person kill when driving on the highway.

I just called nissan. On june 8 18 I took my car to chandler nissan for pre purchase inspection. They said it had a recall for the transmission, checked it and said everything looked fine.

I bought a used 2015 nissan altima on 6/23/2017 with approx. Around 6/30/17 the car would not accelerate while driving over 40mph and the RPM was going all the way over to 8 & 9. The car sounded like it was not shifting into gear.

While driving on a busy highway, I changed lane to pass other car and when pushed the gas pedal RPM was going up, but I was not gaining more speed. I was doing 60 MPH and I could not make the car to go up five more MPH and revs were going up.

I have a service campaign to fix my CVT. Also, my car was vandalized and the front emblem was stolen and the bottom case has been loosened.

While driving back home last month (july 2016), suddenly it started loosing power and tachometer started showing fluctuation at all RPM range (0-4000+). It was very scary moment as it happened while driving on major highway with medium to high traffic flow (after work hours 5 pm -7 pm) 65 MPH zone.

In my driveway I put car in park and got out closing door. I then realized that the engine was still running, so I opened the door and reached in to push the off button. The car started down the driveway in reverse with me caught between the door and body of car.
