2015 Nissan Altima Body & Structure Problems

Your car's hood latch failed unexpectedly while driving at 30 mph, causing the hood to fly open and strike your windshield. This is a serious safety hazard that could obstruct your vision or cause an accident. The hood latch mechanism will need to be inspected and likely replaced to prevent this from happening again.

In 2018, while filling up my gas, I accidentally pulled the hood release lever instead of my gas release lever. After pulling away, while driving the hood released and flew up to my window, causing damage along the hood. Since this incident, I have been going back and forth with nissan to get it repaired.

While driving on intersate highway i77 in july 2016 with an outside air temperature of ~100f the sunroof exploded / shattered for no apparent reason. The inside sliding panel was closed so no passengers were affected by flying glass.

The vehicle "high centered" at various places on speed humps, some of which required backing up to spare worse affects. Early damage is inevitable, and unsafe, and costly. Frequently the vehicle scrapes at parking barriers and curbs.

Got the recall about the hood latch took it to Nissan and had it fixed. My hood latch isn't staying latched now it pops up as I'm driving. and at times the hood latch won't let you open it .

I was notified by the car sharing platform that I advertise my car on that it had a recall summer of 2020 and that I could not put my car on the platform until the safety issue was repaired. The safety issue is mostly prevalent where there is a lot of salt used for deicing the roadways on the east coast. I am on the west coast so does not apply to me.

The secondary hood latch recall has been outstanding without a remedy fix for to long. It came out may of 2020. In 4 months it will be a year.

On 8/8/2020 I was going to my niece's birthday party. While the car was in motion on the beltway, my hood popped up 5 times. I had to continuously pull over on the shoulder of the beltway (which is very dangerous) to keep re-closing the hood.

I tried to release the hood by way of pulling the interior latch, it did not open. I called the dealership they told me to bring it in the next day. I got out of the car and pressed on it (to be sure it was closed) and drove away from the gas station.

The rear driver side door cannot open from the inside. Have to let window down to grab the outside handle in order to open that door. Reported it to dealership.

I just purchased a 2015 nissan altima 3.5 sl sedan. While taking for a test drive after receiving the vehicle, my 12-year-old rolled down the window part way and her door popped open! I had to pull over to close the door.

On 12/30/2018 I had just left the parking lot of the local walmart and was at a complete stop for a stoplight on the corner of county hwy z and state road 13, waiting to turn left. On the green, I turned and drove approximately 500 feet and my hood flew open to the point of slamming into the roof of the car damaging the vehicle. I pulled over and closed the hood and slowly drove home.

Nissan had a hood release issue which resulted in a recall. My hood popped up and resulted in scratches to both sides of my car. I reported it to nissan and they will not cover it.

I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE THE HOOD OF MY CAR COMPLETELY. THE HOOD LATCH IS LOOSE AT ALL TIMES AND I AM UNABLE TO USE THE "OPEN HOOD" BUTTON ON THE INTERIOR. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR IT'S FIRST SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT EDISON NISSAN DEALERSHIP (04/21/2015), THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN REPORTED THAT THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED AND SERVICED. TODAY ON 08/10/2015, THE HOOD POPPED OPEN AND I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE IT. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP TO SET UP A REPAIR, BUT NO SERVICE MANAGERS OR STORE MANAGERS WERE AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS MY CONCERNS AND THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS UNABLE TO SET UP A COURTESY LOANER CAR FOR ME TOMORROW, WHICH WOULD ALLOW ME TO DROP OFF MY CAR FOR REPAIR AND STILL GET TO WORK.

When driving the car the hood flew up damaging the hood, windshield, and corner of the top fenders

Both rear doors are not opening from the inside. At first the right side rear door wasn’t opening and I filed a complaint here-few years ago. Now the left side rear door has stopped opening from the inside.

Hood latch sensor doesn’t work

My vehicle has had an open recall since may 2020. However, there is still "no remedy yet available". Due to this open recall I am not allowed to rent my vehicle out, causing me to lose money everyday!

The hood safety latch failed causing the hood to fly open. The hood cracked the windshield and damaged two body panels on the car. The incident happened on a 4 lane state route traveling west going approximately 30 MPH.

I was driving on the highway, heading home and randomly the hood on the car flew open. I believe the hood latch is faulty due to the recall. I was driving at 40 MPH on the hwy.

The nissan manufacturer claim they can't remedy this safety recall issue till mid 2021 and I use my vehicle commercially. As of result my vehicle has been removed from turo site as being a safety concern to which I'm not allowed to correct due to nissan.

Received recall notice 20v-315, stating the secondary hood latch may not function properly. Letter indicates a remedy expected in the mid-2021 timeframe. This is unexceptable as this is not a new issue and has been a known issue since at least 2016.

While driving on a city street the hood of the car flew open damaging both fenders. Hood was closed but the latch did not secure causing it to fly open causing damage to the body of the vehicle.

I was driving home from the gym when my car had a funky smell, so I stopped at a friends house, I opened the hood and it turned out it was something with my tires, but the smell went away, as soon as I got back into my vehicle a d I drove maybe a quarter mile away I was making a left hand turn when my hood suddenly popped open, even though I made sure it was closed, that has never happened to me and ever since then I been afraid of opening the hood to even check on anything.

The hood opened while driving. The hood struck and broke the windshield, damaged both fenders at the top and obscured the drivers path.

I was driving on a highway at the speed of 50 MPH and my hood flew open. I had to slam on my brakes in the middle of the highway and try and pullover with no view out my front windshield. There is damage to my hood and surrounding area due to this mishap.

I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my hood flew up onto my windshield. It was very frightening... I don't understand how this can happen when the hood is latched shut.

My passenger side rear door does not lock. I'm able to open the door when the car is parked and locked. The initial issue happened while the car was parked and locked and alarm was engaged.

While driving on a four lane main stree I let the rear window down behind driver and door unlocked and flew open couldn't close unless the window was put up confused pulled over and tried to roll window down again with same result next day door will not open or close from inside or out

2015 nissan altima. Consumer writes in regards to rust spots on roof of vehicle.

Brought my car in for the trunk recall in april. The trunk opened and what shut either the recall wasn't done at all or the recall fix does not work. Royal palm beach nissan.

The dashboard/center console area has highly reflective/shiny plastic, that reflects the sun into the drivers and passengers eyes, temporarily blinding them a large area of the center console is highly reflective, everything around the stereo controls and upper center vents.. This is a hazard, and not found on many other manufacturers .
