2015 Nissan Altima Suspension Problems

Your rear control arm completely failed and broke while your car was being driven at highway speed, causing the wheel to angle outward sharply and pull the car across the lane toward oncoming traffic. The part separated into pieces, creating an immediate loss of control. Nissan offered an extended 10-year warranty for this known issue, but your vehicle was 10 months past that window, leaving you to pay $1,500 for the repair out of pocket.

When backing out of my garage the driver's side rear lower control arm catastrophically broke. Thankfully, I was traveling at slow speed so it did not cause and accident. This is a major safety concern for other Altima drivers and the drivers and occupants of vehicles around them if this type of failure would occur at highway speeds.

On 6/28/2023, without any type of advanced warning, my rear driver's side control arm on my 2015 Nissan Altima failed, almost causing me to get into a severe accident; noting the rear tire was almost completely torn from the vehicle. The steering wheel also abruptly turned and locked to the left with a complete loss of control of the vehicle.

I was driving going 60 MPH on the highway when then I felt as I was sliding on as in the rear when my steering wheel immediately shifted right hard . I was able to pull over safely without causing an accident . My steering where was a quarter turned to the right while my car was still driving straight.

Driving down highway, hit dip at bridge seam, when the car bounce up from dip, the right rear control arm snapped in half. Car lost control to right, fortunately I was able to maintain control somewhat and avoided accident. Right rear wheel tilted at 45 degree angle.

Rear Control Arm broke while driving on the highway. We are lucky the car did not crash and cause serious injury to myself and others.

The right rear lower control arm broke away from where the bushing is. It was the innermost bushing towards the center of the vehicle. It appears the metal is rather thin and rusted away.

The left back lower control arm broke into while I was driving . There is not a recall on it yet. I was traveling over a bridge with light traffic when the traction control light came on and I was hearing a lot of noise coming from the Vechile .I turned my emergency flashers on And looked around the Vechile but did not see anything .

Nissan had offered an extended warranty on this part but claims they sent notices to your 2015 purchase address, which you never received or were aware of. The repair is no longer covered under warranty, and Nissan declined a goodwill adjustment after work had already begun.

Over the last 2 years I had both left and right side rear "lower link" suspension elements "rot out" and break while operating the vehicle. Both times leaving me stranded roadside. After the the 2nd failure I felt it couldn't be a coincidence and found Nissan has issued a voluntary action and admitted using faulty parts in Altima's between 2013 to 2018.

I was driving along on slightly rough pavement and the car sort of twitched in the rear end and then every few rotations of the rear wheel, the car shuddered-accompanied by a grinding noise. Then I noticed, that to continue in a straight line, the steering wheel was about 30 degrees, clockwise, to the right of center!

On 7/22/2022, our 2015 Nissan Altima began to shake heavily while being driven at approximately 30 MPH. Please note that our 16 year old newly licensed son was driving the vehicle when this occurred. The traction control light came on and the vehicle was unable to be driven safely.

My low beam headlights very low ,so low seems like they aren't on,have to drive with high beams on, there was a recall in 2022, that I wasn't made aware of also the control arm front driver and passenger side is cracked and my car has never been wrecked. Brought it brand new off the Nissan dealership lot. Had issues from the start with the interior they call themselves fixing ( but did not).

My 2015 Nissan Altima, I've had it (7 years), started stopping without warning. Last week, I've had the valve cover replaced, because it was oil coming through one of the chambers of my spark plugs, I got a new battery, & I got the oil changed to make sure that everything was flowing correctly and running clean. The rear control arm on the driver side snapped while my wife was driving. Now the rear side sways

Passenger side rear lower control arm snapped when backing my car out of the driveway. Through inspection looks like driver side is starting to crack. There are recalls on the USA for this problem up to 2013 and in Canada for 2013 and 2014.

A- arm on rear suspension rusted out.

I changed out my sway bar links cause I keep hearing a klunk sound ( metal on metal) and noticed how rusted and brittle the rear control arms. I'm afraid to drive the car.

Left rear lower control arm broke while driving due to rust and cracked weld. I was lucky to be going at a slow rate of speed when it happened. The rear left tire turned inward and it was undrivable.

Rear passenger control arm separated from frame due to corrosion.

Control arm rusted and snapped at the connection point where it meets the knuckle on both sides a couple months apart. The vehicle was in motion both times thankfully on a city street after hitting a small bump for a manhole cover.

I was driving approximately 30 MPH when I felt a slight jolt and it felt like I had a flat. I pulled over and when I got out to look at vehicle I noticed driver side rear wheel was out of align. I looked under vehicle and I saw the rear control arm corroded and broken in two.

Takata recall.... When vehicle is in traffic on highway at a stand still and you finally get to move the vehicle won't change gears. The RPM will go as high as 8 but the mileage will not go up, it will stay at that lower level speed.
