2015 Kia Sorento Other Problems

Problem: exploding panoramic sunroof in KIA Sorento 2015 I was driving on a smooth, paved two-lane road in a rural area. No cars were nearby (thankfully). car Internal temp: 64.

On Thurs 8/24/23 approx.5/5:30 I was driving home on highway 290 and my Kai Sorento 2015 just quit. No warning of any kind it just quit. I had no steering so had to hang on tightly to the wheel.

In July of 2019 I purchased a 2015 Kia Sorento from Haley Toyota of Richmond. About 7 days after purchasing my Sorento, it was cutting off on me while driving and not starting. It was during the hot summer and I would be in the car with my kids sweating stuck hours away from home until the car decided to start up again.

I was driving on a rural highway, on a saturday morning, sun shining and a brisk 70 degrees, when I heard what I thought was a gunshot and my ears ringing from the sound. My sunroof started shattering and then raining glass down into my car. I thought maybe something had hit my car and stopped as soon as safe.

We were headed back from vacation , just got into the little town of province louisiana, and the moon roof just exploded ! There were no other cars around us no debris! We were driving about 50 MPH on a 2 lane highway.the noise was so loud it sounded like a shotgun went off in the car , we nearly ran off the road !

My 2015 kia sorento has metal flakes in the engine, burns 2 quarts of oil every 2ooo miles, it hesitates on acceleration, white exhaust smoke, burns a lot of gas, the engine check light and uvo warnings constantly turns on, it can catch on fire anytime, the engine can lock anytime. We need more kia recalls before lives are lost.

I purchased my kia in april of this year. A few weeks after the purchase I noticed a burning smell. I pulled over to investigate but could not find where the smell was coming from.

Sooo many complaints of kia doors not opening from the inside. Kia is not issuing a voluntary recall of this. They should asap!

Driving on mild summer day (~70). Lightly-packed cartop carrier affixed properly/safely to kia crossbars (installed by kia). Driving on interstate highway with "passing lane" traffic (about 75mph).

I was driving down a very busy road and with no warning my car lost power. It would turn over but not start back up. I was stuck in the middle of a busy road way causing traffic’s to back up.

As I was driving my grandchildren I heard a banging sound in the engine. I checked for warning lights, and none were showing. I drove the car to a reputable mechanic who after listening to the sound told me that driving the car was not safe.

Our kia has problems with the camshaft sensor and when we described the issues we were having to our dealer he immediately said it was the camshaft sensor and apparently there are a lot of issues with this model with the sensor.

Kia’s ignition on older models is insufficient with standards. They are refusing to do anything about the fact that there is not an immobilizer on the ignition and the vehicle can be stolen with a USB. A recall needs to be made so that they are required to install a fix for those that own Kia models affected.

10/2021 Drove to store (about 20 minutes). Shopped for about 1 hour. Started to leave parking area and enter ramp to highway when the engine stopped.

Engine shut off without warning while driving. My wife was driving and Was able to roll off road thankfully. She was on a very busy road and was in serious risk of injury along with the cars behind her.

This 2015 KIA Sorrento was purchased new 8/14. It has been regularly serviced/maintained since.In Nov 2018 the AWD would not engage during a snowstorm, I was left stranded and had to be towed to the Dealership. The AWD coupler needed to be replaced.

A jerks when you trying to park when you going slow on the parking lot it has a kool 2098 fuel trim it keeps idling high and I'm stalling

My kia sorento sometimes won't start. While parked in our driveway, we'll try and turn on and for some reason, won't start and come back later in the day, it'll start. My kids drive this car and I don't want them stranded somewhere because it won't start.

While driving my car to work after a software update at a local dealership it became sluggish and difficult to drive. I was just coming off a local highway onto a surface street when this occurred. I pulled over and checked the icon on my dashboard in my car's manual.

We were driving down the highway with our small children in the back seat and car began to make a loud noise. The engine light came on and then started to flash. We proceeded to the exit and as we were taking the exit all the lights came on in the car stalled.

Oil pressure sensor and leaking oil. Also paint peeling off badly. Snow pearl white. I purchased extended warranty and dealer never fixed anything.

White vehicle paint is peeling. Was told by dealer it's a known issue and is awaiting defect with paint manufacturer.

September 2024, the engine cooling fan began staying on after shutting off the vehicle, and October 2024, we began to hear unusual engine noises and a bubbling sound from behind the dashboard. November 2024, we began to see intermittent poor performance with the HVAC system, and then on [XXX], the temperature gauge climbed to H.

I am unable to open the right rear door of my 2015 Kia Sorento from the outside. The child safety lock is engaged and thus I am unable to open that door from the inside. All other doors work correctly.

UNKNOWN My issue is PAINT DELAMINATION. I own a 2015 KIA Sorento, color is PEARL WHITE. I understand that this type of factory paint defect is not uncommon with a 2015 KIA Sorento, especially with the color being pearl white.

The car's paint has been peeling off. I purchased the vehicle when it had 49,000 on it in 2020. A few months later I noticed some chipping on the hood and above the front window.

My 2015 Kia Sorento began peeling paint on the roof top and side window panels and is continually getting worse. When communicating with my dealership, they stated it was out of warranty and to contact a local body-shop. I believe this is a Latent Defect, and should not be treated under the standard paint warranty in the owners manual.

The paint is peeling off of my car all the way to the metal in multiple places. Causing rusting.

The vehicle is leaking water inside the car cabin. The front passenger and driver side are soaked with water. If the air conditioner comes on, it sounds like I’m boiling water.

My 2015 Kia Sorento LX is peeling paint on the passenger side pillar after a hard rain. I have found many other complaints about the same thing from other Kia Sorento owners after some looking. There should be no reason for the paint to be peeling like this and needs to be repaired before rust begins.

At first, it wouldn't shift out of park. Now the driverside headlight intermittently flickers and goes out. There's a burnt electrical smell coming from the engine compartment.

Intermittently and unpredictably, my V6 Sorrento just loses all power when trying to accelerate. This occurs when trying to accelerate from a stop or slow roll, but not when moving along at over, say, 20 MPH. Obviously, this can be a very dangerous thing when trying to cross or pull out onto a street when there’s oncoming traffic.

The contact owns a 2015 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while reversing out of a parking space and making a left turn, the contact heard an abnormal popping. The contact felt the vehicle was dragging something underneath the vehicle.

After engine replacement the car has a major loss of power that occurs intermittently. When accelerating the car will stutter and slow down I live In The mountains and there are a lot of blind corners that are safe to Navigate when the vehicle responds properly.

Head light low beams keep burning out on a frequent basis. have to replace couple times a year. have tried LED lamps but no after market LED lamps seem to fit correctly.

I HAVE TAKEN MY KIA SORENTO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIME ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I AM NOT PUTTING MY GAS CAP ON RIGHT OR TAT MY GAS CAP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE PURCHASED 3 GAS CAPS FROM THIS DEALER SHIP. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL JUST COME ON. THIS ISSUE DID NOT START UNTIL THEY PUT IN THE NEW MOTOR. PEARL WHITE PAINT IS PEELING FROM THE BASE COAT. STARTED PEELING AT 90K MILES. PAINT WARRANTY ENDED AT 40K MILES. THERE IS A CURRENT LAWSUIT IN PROGRESS ON THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT A PART OF THAT YET.

THE PAINT ON MY PEARL WHITE KIA SORENTO IS FALLING OFF. I CONTACTED THE KIA DEALERSHIP IN MOBILE, AL WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER CAME OUTSIDE TOOK PICTURES AND NEVER CONTACTED ME. I CALLED AND CALLED AND HE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. I ALSO CONTACTED KIA CORPORATE AND WAS GIVEN A CASE# 13187397. NOONE EVER RETURNED MY CALLS. I PAID OVER $700 TO HAVE MY CAR PAINTED MYSELF AND THE PAINT STARTED TO PEEL OFF AGAIN IN LESS THAN 90 DAYS. THE STORE REPAINTED TO FAULTY AREAS AT NO CHARGE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

ABS LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON AND OFF WHEN TAKING IT TO THE SHOP THE CODE READER IS GIVING NO CODES

My key fob was sounding like the doors locked but the car headlights did not flash or horn sound to signal the car was locked/security feature. The dealer said there was nothing wrong with the battery in the fob, and let it be as that. Today my car is in the shop because I was in the rear seats this week and noticed the back driver side passenger door was not locking.

2015 kia sorrento sxl engine check light and vehicle verbal warning that my truck has a serious engine problem that needs to be checked. I took my truck to the dealership service three times in one week to research and repair the engine issue. I paid over $300 for repair.

I have 2 concerns, 1 mainly I have a newer 2015 kia sorrento with under 25k miles, owned it about 2 years ever since I owned it there has been a ticking in the engine and white smoke blowing out the exhaust. Which should not be thecase with a newer car, after taking it to the dealership they said nothing was wrong.

Engine failure due to metal filings in oil said by dealer to be related to bearings. Same issue the 2014 kia sorento was recalled for. My car was made at the same alabama plant in 2014 but is a 3.3l.

Horrid smell coming from AC. Last summer it smelled like vinegar, this spring, cat urine. I took it to the dealer to have the system cleaned/deodorized for $65.

The SUV has been having white smoke coming from tailpipe and the car has been pulling. It makes ugly noise when we try to accelerate on the freeway and pulls. The oil light isn't coming on to tell us when the oil is low even if it's not time for a pil change.

Paint randomly flys off the vehicle while driving. There are many documented issues with this white pearl coat on my year of vehicle where the paint did not adhere correctly to the base coat.

The car is Snow White Pearl and the paint is delaminating from the car in a large area and is growing. There was no impact or damage to the affected area. This is on the exterior of the car on the passenger side pillar next to the windshield.

Bought a 2015 Kia Sorento that is Pearl white. Got the car without any knowledge of the pearl white issues. For a beautiful color it is the worst paint job I have ever seen a manufacturer put out.

Front doors are able to be open while the car is in gear and being driven, even after automatic doors locked when putting in gear. My grandson grabbed the handle and opened it and almost fell out while I was driving.

2015 Kia Sorento LX has large pieces of paint chipping off from the driver and passenger side pillars (between front and side windows). It started as a few small areas, but now when it rains large pieces of paint blow off and stick to the drivers side & passenger side window while I'm driving.

I was told to submit a claim with you all by others facing the same issue with paint. I have had this car for nearly 3 years and am missing more and more paint every day. It’s missing on the hood as long as driver pillar.

Paint peeling/rapid delamination (bubbling) on 2015 Kia Sorento (Snow White Pearl color) on FRONT PASSENGER PILAR AND CENTER ROOF. Great condition, 109,000 easy miles. Large chunk of paint came off today 10/31.

The paint is delamanating and flaking cause value to drop daily. A 2015 should not have this issue, Toyota recalled for the same issues. It start with a very small spot and has incresed daily in size and new spots are appearing daily.

The paint just above my windshield at the center is bubbled up and stater peeling and is now rusting. It is also peeling on my drivers door just above the window. The paint color is Pearl White

I own a 2015 Kia Sorento that the peeling is rapidly peeling off ( or what the body shops call Delamination ) . My paint began peeling in a tiny spot I thought was a chip from a rock but rapidly began peeling all over .

My engine for this 2015 Kia sorento failed on 6/1/2023. This can put others at risk because Kia continues to know that their Theta ii engines can fail and have not done enough to prevent this problem. Additionally, there are not enough kia technicians available to diagnose engine failures in a timely manner.

The paint is chipping off my 2015 Kia Sorrento. It’s especially bad right above my windshield but it’s chipping in a couple other areas and progressing quickly. It only has 90,000 miles on it.

I have a 2015 kia sorento my paint has started peeling off for no reason. It is snow pearl white .I've spoken to and have seen others just like mine doing the same thing. This is definitely kias responsibility.

Normal low beams are useless for driving. You must use high beams to be able to see, even in town. This has been a problem since I purchased the vehicle in 2015.

2015 Sorento has paint peeling and chipping due to air and weather. The peeling paint started December 2019. The condition has gotten worse.

I am making a complaint due to the paint chipping above the windshield. The paint started to chip and now in growing larger. Every time it rains the paint chips more and more.

Car multimedia system includes blue tooth radio a GPS stopped working and I can not use blue tooth and direction maps my mechanic asked the kia mechaniic and was told it is a common problem.

Transmission taking time to load or not picking at initial move until you press more gas pedal.

The exterior handle cap fell off of my vehicle. It keeps the door handle in place. It is not covered under the warranty but when I searched, hundreds of other kia owners had the same issue, some were brand new.

Back passenger soor only opens under extreme pulling on handle or pushing from inside hard...the inside frame comes loose and then we bank it back in place with ones fist....next time ,,,,it sticks again!! Vehicle parked of course.
