2015 Kia Sorento Airbags Problems

Turned the steering wheel to the right, and the airbag warning light came on. It’s a safety issue that needs to be addressed. If I’m ever in an accident will it deploy?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. ANOTHER VEHICLE MADE A VERY WIDE TURN AND CRASHED AT 60 MPH INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH THE COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND HIS SON WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL LATTER ON. THE CONTACT HAD WHIPLASH AND HAD A HEADACHE AND HIS INFANT SON HAD A SWOLLEN FACE FROM HITTING THE SIDE OF HIS CAR SEAT WITH BRUISES. THE CONTACT'S WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE NOT INJURED. THE CONTACT WENT TO A MILITARY HOSPITAL SINCE HE WAS ON ACTIVE DUTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED WITH DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR BEING SMASHED IN , THE TIERODE WAS SNAPPED. THE REAR TIRE ON THE PASSENGER'S WAS SMASHED FROM THE TOP INWARD AND THE TIRE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WAS PUSHED OUTWARD. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED. THE WRECK WAS TOWED FROM THE CRASH SITE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

The airbag light is on. I was informed in an accident the airbag may not deploy.

(amendments to odi#s: 10668775 & 10663356 - update) on 12/01/2014, I was in a 2015 kia sorento lx (enterprise insurance rental) traveling on crabb river road, (a city street) sugarland, texas. I fully stopped at the traffic lights because it was red.

We were traveling 64 MPH on interstate 75 south (it was raining hard), when we were hit from behind at 75-78 miles per hour by an f150 truck. Our airbags did not deploy which caused us to hit the steering wheel and dashboard. At the rate of speed we were hit, the bags should have deployed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 kia sorento. While driving approximately 20 MPH, another vehicle crashed into the front end of the contact's vehicle. The contact's vehicle was pushed into a telephone pole on the passenger side.

While driving on the interstate my SUV loose excelarate and engines light and oil pan light came on I pulled over and engine shut down try turning SUV over and it did not turn over I had it towed and machanic said the engine is freeze up.

I have the airbag and check engine light on and the code SC212

2015 Kia Sorento - Airbag light came on. Mechanic diagnosed as a faulty clock spring assembly. Checked Carfax for recalls and nothing came up with his error code, however, there IS a recall for 2011-2015 Sorento Airbag Clock Spring Assembly.

The contact owns a 2015 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated, and the front passenger's side air bag was turned off. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer.

Since the beginning of November, 2021, without incidence or prior warning, the airbag warning light came on when the vehicle is started and stays on the entire time the vehicle is on. The vehicle was brought to a KIA dealership on November 18th to diagnose the issue under extended 15 year warranty for two airbag recalls (one for clock spring and the other for ODS sensor).

AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON

OUR KIA SORRENTO HAS THE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PASSAGE WHICH HAS CAUSED THE ENTIRE ENGINE TO FAIL AT $50K MILES. THERE IS A KIA RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE; HOWEVER, KIA IS REFUSING TO COVER THE COST BECAUSE OUR VEHICLE VIN IS NOT PART OF THE SPECIFIC RECALL. THE ESTIMATED COST FOR REPAIR IS $8K, PLUS OUR OUT OF POCKET COSTS FOR RENTING A CALL. WE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR THAT REQUIRED AIR CONDITIONER REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE, BUT ARE NOT SURE IF THEY ARE RELATED TO THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT AT ISSUE CURRENTLY. IN ADDITION, WE RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING OUR AIRBAG INDICATOR IS FAULTY BUT A RECALL IS NOT COMING UP FOR THIS ITEM.

The engine indicator light was coming on at first; I put it on a test and the service tech explained to me that the sensor needed to be replaced. Now the airbag light is on.

Pearl white paint is peeling off on both sides of windshield and hood. Air bag light stays on.

My airbag came on in my 2015 KIA. It is a tension airbag, I believe. It won't go off.

I am a short adult. Because the front passenger seat does not adjust up or down, I need to put a pillow between me and the seat to raise me higher. When I do this, the air bag will not engage.
