2015 Kia Sorento Lights Problems

Formal Complaint on Seized Headlight Sockets and Kia’s Obstruction of Essential Safety Maintenance 1. Incident & Discovery of Defect: I am the owner of a 2015 Kia Sorento. Recently, one of my headlights failed.

The contact owns a 2015 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that on several occasions the front low-beam headlights failed and were no longer illuminated. The headlight bulbs were replaced but the failure eventually reoccurred.

The headlights on this vehicle you can’t even tell they are on after dark even after kia of Cape Coral florida tried adjusting them it’s so bad I ended up installing a light bar on there just to be able to drive this after dark if I get in a accident because of this who is liable I just think there should be a repair they should have to do

My vehicle's headlights are dim and do not light the roadway properly, even when they are turned to the bright setting. I am unable to drive it at night or during rainy weather. I have paid hundreds of dollars for replacement bulbs, trying to get the lights adjusted, and for refurbishing the covers.

Lowlight beams are very dim. Poor visibility. NHTSA ratings are poor.

After replacing bulbs, headlights, especially low beams, are dangerously low. Very low visibility at night and even more difficult to see when there is oncoming traffic and when it is raining. This morning on my way into work it was raining and almost missed a curve in the road due to low visibility.

Your headlight bulbs are failing very frequently — sometimes every month — on both high and low beams, forcing you to constantly replace them at your own expense. The low beams are already dim, and when one fails, you're forced to drive on high beams for safety since you can't see properly. Even upgrading to brighter bulbs hasn't solved the problem, as they also fail quickly.

The low beam headlights on the 2015 Kia Sorento has made it very difficult in viewing the road at night. It is hard to visualize objects within short distance. The socket to install the headlight bulbs point more to the ground instead of outwards.

Yes there was a recall in a module control panel which still is messed up. It’s been replaced a couple x. Also the dim lights since I bought the car have a very low light were you can hardly see at night.

Overtime the low beam headlights have become very dim. The bulbs have always blown a lot but I have recently replaced both bulbs and they are still very dim. I ordered high powered LED bulbs and still the low beams are very dim.

Two things- 1) Headlights replaced in March and dim again, cannot see 50’ in front of the car. 2) Driving on interstate the car sputtered and skipped and missed beats, would not go 55 MPH. I left the interstate because it was night and cats were flying up on me.

Low beam headlights are so dim, Si don't allow my wife to drive at night. Had dealer look at them and change bulbs with a small improvement, but after a while they have gotten so dim that even I don't like driving at night.

SC197 completed 11/06/2020, SC212 completed 07/272021. recently found brake fluid leak results on my garage floor several times, but not after each use of vehicle? Also having to replace brake light bulbs often ,because apparently one will fail and all remaining stay on as if one was riding the brake pedal?

The lowbeam headlights are extremely dim. The high beams are just fine, but the low beams are so dim that it's dangerous driving anywhere at night without the high beams on. I have replaced the bulbs, and a voltage test right before the headlight assembly show significantly less than the 12V standard.

I LOGGED INTO CREDIT KARMA LOOKING AT MY CAR DETAILS AND SAW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRACTION. IVE NOTICED MY TRACTION LIGHT ON IN THE CAR; HOWEVER, DID NOT THINK ANYTHING OF IT AS THE BUTTON WAS PUSHED IN AS NORMAL. THE LIGHT IS ON CONSISTENTLY.

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND DO NOT PROJECT FAR ENOUGH AHEAD TO SEE THE ROAD TO BE ABLE TO SEE. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS MUST BE ON IN ORDER TO PROPERLY SEE, HOWEVER THEY TOO ARE NOT WHAT THEY SHOULD BE. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WHEN ON, ARE MORE OF WHAT THE DIMS SHOULD BE. ALL NEW HEADLIGHTS(BULBS) WERE INSTALLED AND DID NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. THE CAR HAS BEEN LIKE THIS EVER SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IT AT NIGHT, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS EXTREMELY DARK AT NIGHT AND/OR DRIVING IN WET/FOG OR SNOWY WEATHER. LIGHTS ARE SO DIM YOU WOULD BE UNABLE TO SEE DEER FAR ENOUGH IN ADVANCE TO SAFELY SLOW DOWN AND AVOID THEM. THIS PROBLEM IS THE CASE ON ALL ROADS EXCEPT CITY STREETS THAT ARE LIGHTED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 11/22/2019

CAR WAS DRIVEN A NIGHT AND HEADLIGHT WERE TERRIBLE. VAGUELY LIGHTS A A ROAD SIGN ON A DARK STREET AT 100 YARDS. BOTH BULBS HAVE BEEN RECENTLY REPLACED. SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON WITH THESE CARS. CONTACTED KIA AND GOT NO HELP OTHER THAN TAKE TO DEALER AND PAY SERVICE FEE. OTHERS HAVE RECEIVED NO HELP. USUAL ARE TOLD IT IS JUST THE WAY THESE LIGHTS ARE. THESE LIGHT WILL NOT LIGHT A CLOSED GARAGE AT NIGHT.

LOW BEAM LIGHTS GO OFF/ON RANDOMLY. SOMETIMES WILL WORK FOR A WHILE AND THEN ONE OR BOTH LIGHTS WILL GO OUT. WHEN THE DUST COVER IS REMOVED AND THE LIGHT SOCKET ASSEMBLY IS TOUCHED, THEN LIGHT WILL COME ON. HOWEVER, MOVING THE WIRES OR SOCKET ASSEMBLY DOES NOT CAUSE LIGHT TO GO OUT. THEN THE LIGHT LATER RANDOMLY GOES OFF. ALSO, I HAVE REPLACED MANY LOW BEAM BULBS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM.

LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. CONSTANTLY HAVE TO USE HIGH BEAMS WHEN SAFE TO DO SO. HAVE TO CHANGE THEM EVERY SIX MONTHS OR SO BECAUSE THEY ONE OR THE OTHER STOPS WORKING. HAVE HAD IT CHECKED OUT FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY CANNOT FIND AN ISSUE. MAY HAVE TO TRADE THIS CAR IN DUE TO THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. VERY FRUSTRATING!

HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. WE HAVE SWITCHED TO NEW BULBS AND THEN LED AND NEITHER IMPROVE THE DIM HEADLIGHTS. THE GLASS IS NOT FOGGY OR DAMAGED.

THE HEADLIGHTS HI AND LOW ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO PROVIDE FOR A MORE SAFE VISIBLE DRIVE.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULBS FREQUENTLY BLOW OUT. HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DUST CAPS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE REMAINS A PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE HEADLIGHT BULBS MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS. THESE ARE THE H7 BULBS THAT FIT THE STANDARD 2015 SORENTO LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FIXTURE.

Keeps blowing out low beam head lites. Replaced four times in the last year. Took in to dealer to look at.

The headlights are so dim that the road is not visible. My cars' light meter value is 77lu compaired to a nieghbors' headlight value of 489lu with the same lights. This low headlight output value makes this car unsafe to drive in low light situations and at night.

The low beam headlights do not illuminate the highway sufficiently to drive safely. I lowered the aim of my high beam to be able to drive at night and not blind approaching drivers. This is unacceptable for a modern vehicle to be permitted to be sold in this condition.

My problem is with the headlights, in that the condenser lens for the low beam lights has clouded so badly that driving at night has become so dangerous. I have changed the bulbs twice in an effort to correct the problem to no avail. And with the sealed unit not able to be disassembled to clean the lens, my only option is to replace the units at approximately $800 each.

In the last year I have had to replace my headlight bulbs at least 3 times on each side. My yearly mileage is only around 9,000-10,500. The body shop has tried different brands of bulbs, tried not having the automatic light setting on and only turning on when needed, etc.

Snow Pearl White paint is chipping at various areas of the front portion of the vehicle. I was driving in heavy rain and then noticed a huge chunk just chipped off. Several owners with this paint color have complained of an issue this similar.

Vehicle has low visibility on low beam, even with aftermarket LEDS there is still low visibility with the low beams, car need to be driven on high beam and it is illegal to drive with high beams as you blind cars driving on opposite direction, and a fine could be impose as well.

The low beams headlights are not bright at all you can't see when driving down the road, it's really dangerous when you you're turning corners because they are not bright so you can't see people crossing the street. Also if you turn off you headlights when driving down the road the dashboard is still visible so you can't tell if your headlights are on or off.

The wipers and headlights would randomly come in and out of working conditions. You don't know when wipers are working until it starts raining so it was very dangerous. We had to pull over and either wait for the rain to stop or wait until the wipers started working again.
