Owner Complaints (110)
Your parking brake has been engaging unexpectedly while driving, causing the vehicle to brake hard without warning. You may also see a "Service Shifter" message and gear shift indicator lights on the dashboard. The issue was traced to water getting into the parking brake module; after replacement and electrical cleaning, the problem recurred at 45 MPH. Fixing this will likely require replacing the parking brake module, inspecting for water intrusion sources, and cleaning or replacing electrical connectors.

Your emergency brake engaged on its own while you were stopped in traffic, even though you weren't using it. The car came to a complete stop and wouldn't move until the brake disengaged, with no warning lights to alert you beforehand. This could involve inspection and repair of the emergency brake system's mechanical or electrical components.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that water was leaking into the vehicle from the sunroof, causing the parking brake to become inoperable. The “Service Parking Brake” warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the parking brake failed to function properly and failed to disengage as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the parking brake actuator had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
Electronic parking brake engages at random. Gauge info shows “P” with a circle warning, as well as “brake” in red. Says “4wd system unavailable”. Parking brake module has water/corrosion at connection terminal. Parking brake switch by gear shifter flashing constantly. Car will drive fine then will not move when attempting to go later, had to leave on side of road until it could be towed recently. Extremely frustrating and upsetting. This needs recalled as dealership says it costs $1000’s and requires reprogramming. Now left with a Jeep I can not drive and can not afford to fix.
Parking break is in need of service before it is set and won’t be able to get it off.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the parking brake was engaged and failed to release as needed. The parking brake warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that just before attempting to start the vehicle, she became aware that the brake light indicated that the parking brake was engaged was illuminated even though the parking brake was not activated. Upon starting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the parking brake was engaged and failed to release. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Electronic Parking Brake control module. The contact was informed that there was excessive water in the rear cargo area interior panel where the EPB control module was located. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 08-060-16. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.
Electronic parking brake module failed and locked up the brakes while in motion in the parking lot, inspected the rear hatch and it is soaked. The epb module was soaked and corroded along with whatever modules are in there.
My service park brake lights came on, and I had issues where my parking brake tried to engage when I was driving a couple of times. Then when I tried to drive it to a mechanic it completely locked up and I couldn’t drive it. It turns out that my spare tire well was flooded due to a known leak issue, which there is an open recall for that/a power lift module. But due to this leak, the blood water in my tire well ran down onto my parking, brake, computer, module and connector, which made it corroded and shorted it out. My mechanic advised me to take it to the dealership and talk to Chrysler to get it fixed since the lake is a known issue and this is consequential damage due to this issue, but they said since my car is out of warranty there’s nothing they could do for me but have me pay for it out of pocket. Concerning considering this is a major safety issue.
Forbthe past gew months my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude had been in and out of the shop. The ebrake will set itself and not disengage. I think they have replaced everything remotely associated with the ebrake. I picked it up AGAIN yesterday afternoon, drive 3 minutes down the road, pulled into a parking space, put in park, and the ebrake came om before I even shut the vehicle off. It will not disengage. I am currently sitting beside the vehicle, waitin for the service tech to call me back yet again. I have quite literally lost count of how many times rhis vehicle has been in the shop since I got it a year and a half ago.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to disengage the parking brake, but the parking brake failed to respond as needed. The message "Parking Brake Electrical Failure" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V338000 (Electrical System, Structure). The dealer informed the contact that the recall only covered the power liftgate module; however, the contact stated that the electric parking brake module was located next to the power liftgate module and had been exposed to water intrusion. The dealer diagnosed that the electric parking brake module, electrical connectors, and wiring needed to be replaced, and the dealer charged a repair fee. The contact declined to pay the fee. The vehicle was towed to Pleasant Valley Auto, where the contact was informed that the electric parking brake module had failed and was corroded. The mechanic replaced the electric parking brake switch and module; however, the electric parking brake module needed to be reprogrammed by a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Parking brake turned on by itself and would not disengage. I finally got it to work again and then while driving it did it. Prior to this I was getting a warning about my rear lift gate. I have tried everything to fix it and it does not seem to respond. I have researched this and it seems to be a big problem. Please have Jeep issue a recall.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while reversing, the parking brake was unintendedly engaged, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there were cracks in the chassis, and the parking module had short-circuited. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
3 times now my car has engaged it's own parking brake and I haven't been able to disengage it. The first and last time it engaged itself in a parking lot after I started my car. The first time I had it towed and the issue had resolved itself before the dealer had a chance to look and since they could not duplicate the issue they let it go. The second time I had it towed to my local mechanic who had to physically disconnect it and reconnect it to get it to disengage. The second time it happened while I was stopped at a stop sign. This third time it engaged at my sons parking school after I started the car. I had it towed to my local mechanic, he disconnected and reconnected and it keeps instantly re-engaging. This is an on-going issue and clearly if it engages itself while running (happened once) is a major safety concern.
Electronic parking brake came on when I started the vehicle and will not disengage, so the vehicle is stuck in a parking lot.
I was in reverse backing out of my parking spot and the emergency parking brake activated by itself. My car immediately stopped and I was not able to move it forward or backwards. The brake warning lamp illuminated and a "service parking brake" showed up on my screen where the speedometer is. I was just grateful it didn't happen in the middle of the interstate or turning onto a major roadway. I was still freaked out this could happen. My car is still stuck where it went out. I've tried everything I can think of to deactivate the parking brake but nothing is working. This is so unsafe!!!
Electronic E Brake engaged while driving. Will not disengage. Requires towing. E brake will not disengage.
When I parked, it was fine, no brake problem. The next morning, I pulled out, got 10 feet & realized there was a problem. I saw the parking brake was mysteriously on and hasn't been off since. I've tried the release and resetting the parking brake for service, but the (P) parking brake light is orange, the regular brake light is flashing red, and there's a message that my 4wd is non-functional. I was lucky to get off the street.
1* The electric Emergency Brake. 2* The E brake engages while I am driving and causes the car to abruptly stop almost causing the car behind me to rear end my car. 3* No, it just started, it happened 2 times yesterday 5/1/24. 4* No 5* Not that I am aware of.
2nd time, I did not put auto brake on but it engaged itself and than was stuck and would not disengage. Luckily I was not in traffic, because that could have been a serious safety issue. The e brake engages on its own and than won’t dislodge. Multiple times this has happened now. Took it in once and paid almost $1500 to get it repaired, 3 days later same thing happened again!
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the parking brake inadvertently activated causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The parking brake light was illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road before driving the vehicle to the residence. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer upgraded the software module however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
While driving on a low-speed, local road, the Electronic Parking Brake came on which forced me to quickly pull over. The car then displayed a "Service Parking Brake" warning. I brought the car to my local garage and they found that the Parking Control Module and Connector were damaged by corrosion. They needed to replace the module and connector. This could have been a serious safety issue.
The emergency park brake function is stuck on and can not be released. The car will not move and the emergency brake will not release.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the electronic parking brake independently activated. The contact stated that the parking brake seized, and the vehicle became undriveable. The electronic parking brake and parking warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I received a warning to service my park brake. At that time it immediately started setting my park brake and I was unable to release it. After much fooling around with it I got it to release and took it to the dealership. They said the park brake module was wet and corroded and suggested I left my windows down. Well I never open my windows. They said the part was not available and probably wouldn’t be for months. The blew out and cleaned the module. I had no problems for a year and a half (I also never set my park brake for fear it wouldn’t release) but it started setting itself again so I called the dealership and was again told they didn’t have the part and couldn’t tell me when they would. I have also had so many other issues with this vehicle. One being a transmission issue that happened before a recall for it so I fixed the problem and paid for it. When the recall came out I was only reimbursed for half of what I paid. I’m literally afraid to drive my car for fear of something goring horribly wrong while driving it.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after the vehicle was started, the parking brake failed to release as designed. Additionally, the parking brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 218,000.
Water ingress into electronic parking brake module caused brake to lock and render vehicle immobile. Also caused battery drain and electrical issues due to shorting out.
I get error messages that say stop to shift. My car is an automatic, brake comes on when I haven’t touched it, it won’t drive sometime Won’t go forward or backwards, tire pressure errors, check engine light comes on when nothing is wrong now it won’t always start. The battery is at 14.2 I want a new car this one is crap
As I was driving on an interstate highway, suddenly the brakes on my Jeep locked up and pulled over to the shoulder. The dashboard message was that there was a problem with the Parking Brake. After a few minutes the vehicle would move and I drove home. I called a service station and made an appointment to have it looked at but the brakes were now locked and the vehicle had to be towed. The mechanic said there was a problem with water in Parking Brake Control Module and the design would let in water which caused the problem. He said the module and connector needed replacement. The Jeep was then taken to a dealer who was the only one who could get the parts and make the repairs. The dangerous aspect was the brakes suddenly locking up on the highway.
My parking brake light came on and I took it (2014 Cherokee Latitude) to get my brakes fixed and was made aware that my parking brake was stuck on just enough to were it had been wearing out my rotors. my pads and rotors were destroyed because of this and can’t be replaced until I take it to a dealership so they can reprogram it and get it to disengage. A few days prior to this I was in a driveway and my car would not move at all for around 30 mins of starting and restarting my car. I called the dealership and they are wanting to charge me $159 diagnostic plus the cost of repair not to mention it’s unsafe to drive and has to be towed. Dealership apparently only one who can fix and want to charge all this money to repair an electronic issue that causes my vehicle to be unsafe for me and my 2 children!
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the electronic parking brake erroneously activated. The contact was able to deactivate the parking brake and continued to operate the vehicle. Later while driving approximately 5 MPH, the electronic parking brake activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. The contact was unable the deactivate the electronic parking brake rendering the vehicle undrivable. The vehicle was towed to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic parking brake module was faulty, due to water damage caused by rainwater leaking into the vehicle. The module was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 88,000.
While in drive my parking brake engaged all of a sudden. I tried to disengage and it would not. A scanner was brought and the car would not even talk to it. I tried settings on my dash to disengage parking brake and it brought up error. My car had to be put on a flatbed. I was told they found water on left back side where my parking module was and they have ordered the part. I have read several complaints on this same exact situation.
The contact owns 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH the electronic parking brake suddenly activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who informed the contact of water intrusion into the electronic braking system which caused the electronic braking system to malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle restarted and operated normally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,000.
Emergency break malfunction, will turn on while driving and will not turn off, it will show service break engine light and check engine light
The emergency/parking break froze in the on position. The vehicle had to be towed on a flatbed truck. The parking brake had to be disconnected in order to drive the vehicle. The cause was water intrusion into rear cargo area. Parking brake module/connector are corroded. Needs a module and harness. Code C10CD01. I understand this issue is already being investigated for recall. I want to make sure my complaint is included.
While driving the parking brake suddenly engaged and the parking brake warning light came on the dash. I pulled over and was not able to disengage the parking brake. I shut the car off and when it turned back on the parking brake was still engaged. When attempting to disengage the brake, the light on the switch would pulse but not disengage. The car would then not operate in drive or reverse and had to be towed to my house. The following day we had it towed to a dealership was were told that water had corroded the module and would need to be replaced. I’m currently awaiting the replacement part and incurring the fees for a rental car at my own cost. The estimated cost from the dealership is around $1,200 and the part isn’t scheduled to arrive until the end of next month.
I was driving on the highway and the park brake warning light came up. This light was on for some time. When I stopped the vehicle and started it again, the parking brake was engaged. I was not able to drive the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rearview camera was inoperable. Additionally, the parking brake failed to deactivate. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,750. The contact stated that all of the failures occurred after the computer update recall repair. Each occurrence presented a different code, but they were not saved. The failure of the parking brake caused an accident.
Electronic park brake engaged without prompting. Dash indicator lights for Park Brake & Transmission Service along with 'D' for Drive on dash flashing. Could not move car due to park brake engaged. Took several restarts to disengage it. Happened twice with no dash warnings between incidents. Park brake engaging while driving is dangerous and I don't feel safe in this vehicle as I have had a prior issue with losing acceleration on the freeway leading to a scary event.
The park brake will not disengage the park brake is located in the rear driver side compartment behind the rear tire which gets water corrosion every time it rains and once it is corroded the park brake will not disengage this happens to be an issue with every 2014 jeep care Cherokee sport I’ve had to have the park brake module replaced several times and have read several service bulletins where this has been an issue
Upon backing into a parking spot this morning, my EPS dinged and the break light started flashing. The yellow brake indicator light also popped on. I know there is an open investigation into the EPS system right now so this is another case of malfunction. It has not done it while driving, but now I am terrified it might and I am constantly driving my car. Nothing has been inspected as of yet.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the parking brake activated independently. The contact stated that he was unable to disengage the parking brake. The contact stated that the parking brake light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the cause was determined to be the parking brake module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the part was on backorder. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,500.
The parking brake engaged while moving, I am happy that it didn’t happen while I was moving fast. This is cause for serve concern if it was to happen at a high rate of speed. Currently I am sitting and trying to trouble shot the issue and may have to call a tow truck.
When I very first got the vehicle I went into settings and turned off the automatic parking break then for no apparent reason it came on all on its own after it turned on it took a good 20 minutes to get to kick off and when I took it to the service center they said it was deadly dangerous to be driving it the way it is i’ve been without a vehicle for over a month I’ve had no way to get to and from work except for bumming a ride from friends and relatives and it’s going to cost me between 1200 to 2 grand to fix it and I know I am not the only one that is having this issue when I spoke to the manufacturer they gave me a couple local repair shops that couldn’t see me for over a month and basically said fuck off
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while in a drive-thru, she placed the vehicle in park(P) and engaged the parking brake. While attempting to exit the drive thru, the contact was unable to release the parking brake. The vehicle remained stuck in the drive thru. While waiting for a tow truck, the contact restarted the vehicle and was able to release the parking brake. The next day, the contact was parked outside of a business and the failure recurred. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assisted with some of the repairs. The contact was provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
The Parking Brake light in my vehicle came on. After having it checked I was told I'd need to go to a dealership to have the module replaced. The next day, the parking brake came on in the vehicle without any warning after I started the car. It took 2 hours and several restarts for the brake to turn off.
The parking brake comes or activates for no known reason. I tow this Jeep behind my RV and have had the parking brakes come on while on the highway and streets. It is very dangerous because it causes the jeep to sway left and right making it hard to control the RV. You literally have to stop where ever you are and exit the RV, go to the Jeep and manually unlock the parking brakes. VERY DANGEROUS!!! It has happened numerous times.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the electronic braking system locked up. Additionally, while driving, the transmission was slipping and not shifting into gear as designed. The check engine warning light and service transmission warning light was illuminated. Keeps saying service parking break and will stall on take off
On July 27, 2022, I remote started my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, as I always do and drove off. As I was driving a peep sounded with a quick blinking flash with a P! on my instrument panel. It did that about 8 times and it went away. On July 28, 2022, I again remote started my car and the P! was displayed with Service Park Brake in stored messages. I was able to drive to work, when I parked the parking brake engaged and was unable to manually remove the parking brake. I went into the shifter box and was able to bypass the parking brake and stored messages cleared. As I was driving, all came back on, again slowing down my car. Now I'm unable to bypass e-brake or parking brake. Making my car unusable and unsafe. We went into the trunk and came across water in the side pockets and spare tire area. Looked at the e-brake module and it is corroded, my car has been parked for 4 days. I am afraid of driving my car and having it stop on the highway. The consumer is still experiencing water ingress and can not determine where the water is coming from. There is about 4 inches of water in the spare tire well and side pockets.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that upon placing her vehicle into park(P), the parking brake independently engaged while attempting to shift to drive(D). The contact was able to disengage the parking brake by holding down the parking brake button. While the contact attempted to make a left turn at 30 MPH, the contact released the parking brake button and the parking brake immediately engaged as the "service parking brake" message displayed. The contact was unable to move the vehicle and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The mechanic discovered that 6-inches of water had been retained in the spare tire compartment. The mechanic believed that water had entered the vehicle through the rear corner seams of vehicle. The mechanic believed that the water build up had led to an electrical short which caused the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000. The contact states that this report is no longer valid and the information is inaccurate. Please refer to VOQ 11487870.
The parking brake is stuck on and cannot be disengaged Just happened today trying to go home, car sat for 7 hrs, I did not put the parking brake on No mechanic has seen it yet
randomly unable to retract electrical parking break, displays "servics parking break" . safety risk :if stopped on redlight and the parking break engaged , it won't release, unable to move the Vehicle .
Parking brake randomly engaged, while parked and will drive. I was driving in parking lot so no injury. Had towed for service. Found water in harness and parking brake module.
December 13 5:30 am. Temp 29 deg. Daughter went to leave in Cherokee. Stated see heard noise from back after gear selector was put in reverse to back out went around 10’ when park brake warning ! With circle. ABS Air bag. I will say most warning light. My first thoughts were brakes were froze and failed to release. Didn’t understand how Vehicle had moved no drag marks also ? Daughter said it had not dragged tires. Vehicle was not driven “safety issue” Went to work so happens i am a ASE,EVT Master Technician for over 30 years and Repair Emergency vehicles daily. So I started to do a little research. Wow. I was amazed. This is a Known issue. Ref TSB 08-060-16 Park brake module water intrusion. Called local dealer Ref TSB for parts and labor was quoted $575 parts 700 labor with all required programming. PBM was in-stock no harness. Back home. Troubleshooting. Basic electrical check batt/grounds/fuse voltage ect. All good. Removed both rear tires check parking brake connector at actuator motors. Good. Performed inspection part of TSB. Connector for water intrusion yes! very obvious Continued with TSB removed Interior trim panels to access PBM and removed. Is mounted with connector facing up “problem” shook PBM could hear water inside.”problem” computer with water inside that controls all park parked function with data links tied to all the Vehicle ECUs there is a high possibility this could cause a lose of Vehicle control. Decided to reinstall and do a little testing on my own Wanted to see if park brake will apply when driving. It will when ECU is moved around full off water park brake will set. Most warning lights in dash will light up. Park brake ECU will affect all systems. Is this a Safety issue? Yes. At minimum this needs be Investigated. Top of ECU was removed around Teaspoon of water was drained out. Have ECU wiring harness. See pic’s Cause: Water is leaking around body sealer inner fender “poor workmanship “ allowing water to run down wiring harness in ECU.

The approximate failure mileage was 104,135.
Emergency brake locked into on position and will not release..park malfunction indicator lamp came up and stayed on..I told dealer there was a service bulletin(08-060 -16)out on it and of course he never heard of it..in my research I found it was a common and very dangerous issue on jeep cherokees because of water intrusion into the connector inside the vehicle ..this should be a recall not a bulletin in my opinion..
Much like other recalls for PTU's on similar models in the same year, mine is having problems with the power transfer unit (PTU) rumbling from the rear while decelerating and applying the electric brake automatically. I feel the manufacturer made a band aid change to the programming by applying the electric brake rather than being forced to replace the faulty PTU in a safety recall. Ultimately this puts my safety at risk and leaves me financially responsible for a faulty PTU. This problem is described in the website below, which led me to this form: https://www.mrblaw.com/blog/2020/06/jeep-recalls-cherokees-for-dangerous-fault-in-power-transfer-unit/
PARKING BRAKE LOCKS UP RANDOMLY AND CAN'T MOVE VEHICLE. WATER LEAKING IN AND CORRODING PARKING BRAKE MODULE.
WITHIN THE PAST YEAR MY ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE SEIZED. I HAD TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED AND PARKING BRAKE REPLACED. MECHANIC STATED BRAKE WAS DAMAGED DUE TO WATER GETTING TO THE PART. THIS PAST WEEK WHILE AWAY ON BUSINESS 3.5 HOURS FROM HOME THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED WHEN CAR WAS PARKED AND WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED FROM THE MOTEL TO A GARAGE. IT WAS NOT A JEEP DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANIC FOUND A SERVICE MEMO #08-060-16 REGARDING THIS ISSUE ON MY JEEP. HE KNEW I NEEDED TO GET HOME THAT DAY SO MY ELECTRONIC BRAKE WAS UNHOOKED SO I COULD DRIVE. HE STATED THAT WATER AGAIN WAS THE ISSUE. THAT THERE IS A LEAK IN THE BACK WINDOW THAT CAUSES WATER TO POOL IN THE PARKING BRAKE WHICH THIS TIME SHORTED THE COMPUTER THAT RUNS THE SWITCH FOR THE BRAKE. HE ALSO STATED THAT THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IF I HAD MANAGED TO DISENGAGE THE BRAKE AND CONTINUE TO DRIVE. AFTER RESEARCH I SEE THIS IS A CONTINUING ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL. I FEEL A RECALL IS WARRANTED
VEHICLE STARTED TO HAVE BRAKE PULSATION TOOK VEHICLE TO ASE CERTIFY TECH CHECKED BRAKES STATED PADS CALIBER OK BUT THE ROTORS WERE WARP FRONT AND REAR BRAKES THIS SHOW ROTORS ARE DEFECTIVE FROM MANUFACTURER STATED JEEPS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM CALLED JEEP CORPORATE OFFICE AND REP. MARIELA STATED TO REFER TO VEHICLE WARRANTIES DONT KNOW WHAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH DEFECTIVE UNSAFE PARTS INSTALLED IN VEHICLES VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND VEHICLE BRAKES WERE WORKING IN CORRECTLY CAUSING CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY I HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PART OFFERED TO TURN IT TO DEALERSHIP SO IT CAN BE SENT TO CORPORATE FOR INSPECTION THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT PART STATED THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN CONSIDER IT DEFECTIVE
ELECTRIC PARKING BREAK AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN I STOP AND DOES NOT DISENGAGE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE PARKING BRAKE AUTOMATIC SYSTEM ILLUMINATED AND LOCKED UP THE FRONT WHEELS AND THROW HER INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEN STOLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (1001 BALTIMORE BLVD, WESTMINSTER, MD 21157, WHERE THE AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER JONES JUNCTION (1508 BELAIR RD #2000, BEL AIR, MD 21014), AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE SAME FAILURE AS THE FIRST DEALER. THE AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT ADVISED THE MECHANIC TO DISCONNECT THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.*DT*DT*JB*DT*DT*DT*JB*JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED; HOWEVER, IT FAILED TO DISENGAGE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HARR CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (110 GOLD STAR BLVD, WORCESTER, MA 01606) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS WATER DAMAGE TO THE MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
PARKING LAMP AND EPB LIGHT REMAINS ON AND THE ODOMETER IS BLINKING
ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED AND WOULDN'T RELEASE WHEN THE CAR WAS LOCATED AT AN INTERSECTION ON A MAJOR CITY STREET. THE EPB MODULE IS CORRODED WITH WATER DAMAGE. THIS IS LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE POWER LIFT GATE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER LIFT GATE: SAFETY RECALL R27 / NHTSA 15V-393 POWER LIFTGATE MODULE BUT THE RECALL ONLY ADDRESSES THE LIFT GATE MODULE, NOT THE EPB MODULE.
MY ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND TURNED OFF WITHOUT ACTIVATING THE PARKING BRAKE. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. IN ADDITION, THE RED 'BRAKE' LIGHT, AND YELLOW ELECTRONIC PARK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD APPEARED; THE ODOMETER WAS FLASHING; AND, 'SERVICE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE' APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD MESSAGE WINDOW. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FLIPPING THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH FROM THE ON AND OFF POSITIONS, THEN HOLDING THE SWITCH IN THE "OFF" POSITION FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, THE PARKING BRAKE DID DISENGAGE. ALL OF THE LIGHTS REMAINED ON. EACH TIME THE CAR WAS PLACED BACK INTO "PARK" THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD RE-ENGAGE, AND I NEEDED TO GO BACK THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS TO DISENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE DUE TO THE ISSUE ON 9/13/19 AT A CERTIFIED JEEP DEALER/TECHNICIAN. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS CORROSION OF THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE MODULE LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, DUE TO WATER SOMEHOW ACCESSING THIS AREA. IMPORTANTLY, THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT IDENTIFY HOW WATER GOT INTO THE AREA. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE CORRODED MODULE AND WIRING HARNESS. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WOULD NOT RE-OCCUR AS THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW WATER ACCESSED THE PARKING BRAKE MODULE, BUT THAT THEY HAD RESEALED THE ENTIRE AREA AND WERE HOPEFUL THIS WOULD BE A PERMANENT FIX. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES IN APPROX. 60 DAYS/2000 MILES SINCE HAVING THE MODULE REPLACED. THE COST OF THE PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE THE MODULE WAS $963. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A LATENT DEFECT WHICH ADVERSELY IMPACTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
PARKING BRAKE LOCKED UP ,CAR COULD NOT MOVE AN HAD TO BE TOWED, THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN A LOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO PARK, THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD ACTIVATE ON ITS OWN. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. TO DEACTIVATE THE PARKING BRAKE, THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE IN A PARKING LOT, THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE WHEELS SEIZED ABRUPTLY AND THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED ON ITS OWN. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, THE BRAKES LOST POWER, AND THE ANTI-SKID AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO REGAL NISSAN (770-998-8686, LOCATED AT 1090 HOLCOMB BRIDGE RD, ROSWELL, GA 30076) AND WAS INFORMED TO CALL A JEEP DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED ROBERT LOEHR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SRT AND FIAT AT 770-382-5885 (LOCATED AT 567 E MAIN ST, CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121) AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALER FROM WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,600.
I PARKED MY CAR ON MAIN STREET IN TOWN TO PICK UP MY MAIL. WHEN I GOT READY TO LEAVE MY EMERGENCY PARKING BREAK WAS ON. ( I NEVER PUT E BRAKE ON,BIT DID IT BY ITSELF) I TRIED TO DISENGAGE BUT IT WOULD NOT. I HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED AND IT COST ME $611.28 IN REPAIRS. WE WERE TOLD WATER AND CORROSION WAS FOUND IN ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MODULE AND CONNECTOR. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS AND HAVE FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. WE CALLED JEEP WHO TOLD US THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE E BRAKE BUT MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH. OBVIOUSLY IT SHOULD. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH JEEP AT THIS POINT. WATER SHOULD NOT BE GETTING INTO THE MODULE. THAT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFFECT AND SHOULD BE COVERED AS SUCH AND RECALLED.
CAR DASHBOARD DISPLAYS "SERVICE PARK BRAKE" AND "4WD SYSTEM TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE". CAR IS STATIONED. WHEN PUTTING CAR ON DRIVE, IT DOES NOT MOVE WHEN ACCELERATING. EMERGENCY PARKING BUTTON WAS LOOKED INTO AND IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND FELT AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE BRAKES HAD BEEN INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE DEALER (ELM GROVE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP INC., 2538 NATIONAL RD, WHEELING, WV, 304-243-1999) WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,815. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
EMERGENCY BRAKE LOCKED UP WHEN PARKED WITHOUT BEING ENGAGE. AUTO BRAKE WAS NOT ON.
TWICE, I WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH OR LESS AND THE BRAKES ENGAGED AUTOMATICALLY ALL ON THEIR OWN, SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES FLASHING "BRAKE" MESSAGE IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND STOPPING THE CAR WHILE IN MOTION.THE CITY ROAD WAS DRY BOTH TIMES.FIRST TIME JUNE 12, 2018, TRAVELING 27 MPH, THERE WERE LARGE CONSTRUCTION BARRELS ALONG THE ROAD ON THE RIGHT SIDE, CARS ON LEFT, THE CAR IN FRONT WAS 1-1.5 CAR LENGTHS AWAY, MY CAR WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE, NO ITEMS ON THE ROAD SURFACE, MY CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION.DEALER COULDN'T FIND A STORED MESSAGE OR ANY PROBLEMS.SECOND TIME, AUGUST 18, 2018, DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE, GRASS MEDIAN WITH TREES, NO CARS CLOSE (ALL WERE AT LEAST 2-3 CAR LENGTHS AWAY), NOTHING ON ROAD SURFACE, ABOUT 30 MPH, ON A CITY STREET. DEALER AGAIN COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING.THIS IS VERY SCARY. HOW DO I KNOW IF IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGHER SPEED AND THE CAR STOPS ABRUPTLY AND I GET REAR-ENDED AND DIE?
EMERGENCY BRAKE IN GAGED. COULD NOT SHUT IT OFF. COULDN'T MOVE VEHICLE. HAD TO BE TOWED BY AAA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE AUTO LOCK FUNCTION LOCKED THE CONTACT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL WINDING NOISE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,935. *TT
AUTO HOLD FOR BRAKES TURNS ON WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR REASON WHILE DRIVING.
I TOOK MY JEEP INTO CLEAR LAKE JEEP3 TIMES AND STLL NOT FIXED THE CAR CAME TO A STOP THE EBRAKE ENGAGED ALL 3 TIMES I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY CAME TO A TRAFIC LIGHT AND STOPPED AND WHEN I PUT MY FOOT AN THE GAS THE CAR JURKED FORWARD AND WOULD NOT MOVE BECAUSE THE EBRAKE ENIAGED LUCKY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED I SEE THIS IS HAPPENINGTO OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2014 JEEPS PLEASE HELP
AFTER FILLING MY TANK WITH GAS I TURNED ONTO A NEARBY ROADWAY AND FELT MY CAR SPUTTERING AND JERKING. AS I CAME TO A SLOW STOP AT A STOP LIGHT MY CAR ABRUPTLY SLAMMED TO A STOP AND MADE A LOUD BANG/SLAMMING NOISE AND PROMPTED ME TO SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART THE CAR. I FOLLOWED THESE COMMANDS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AS SOON AS I WOULD SHIFT OUT OF PARK THE LOUD SLAMMING WOULD OCCUR AGAIN AND I BEGAN TO SMELL FUMES SO I STOPPED TRYING TO FOLLOW THE PROMPTS. I PUT MY CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED MY CAR OUT OF THE MOVING TRAFFIC LANES AND GOT IT TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE AND GAVE IT BACK. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES SINCE. THEY REPLACED AN EVAPORATION PRESSURE SWITCH THE SECOND TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN AND THIS STILL HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE. THE LAST TIME THE ISSUE OCCURRED I WAS SLOWING DOWN ON A HIGHWAY IN DENSE TRAFFIC AND AS TRAFFIC STARTED MOVING AGAIN MY GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS I ONLY HEARD LOUD REVVING NOISES AS MY CAR COASTED.. WHEN I WENT TO PRESS THE BRAKES AND PULL OFF THE ROAD I IMMEDIATELY HEARD THE LOUD SLAMMING NOISE AND MY CAR BROKE DOWN AGAIN IN A VERY UNSAFE LOCATION ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAITED ONE HOUR AND MY CAR WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND I SLOWLY GOT IT OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH MY E-LIGHTS ON. I WILL BE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP AFTER THE NEW YEAR.. AGAIN. WORST OF ALL AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE ONLINE I SEE IT IS COMMON AMONG JEEP VEHICLES. NOT JUST THE CHEROKEE. HAPPENS AFTER I GAS UP. IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED AT HIGH SPEEDS BY OTHER CARS ON THE ROADWAY. HAS BEEN LISTED IN FORUMS AS SOMESORT OF ROLLOVER FUEL VALVE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE MORE SERIOUS INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH OCCURS ASSUMING THAT HASN'T ALREADY HAPPENED. ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT SINCE THE WORK THEY DID ON 2ND VISIT TO DEALER I HAVE HAD CHECK GAS CAP AND ENGINE LIGHTS ON

12/03/16 I WAS BACKING OUT THE DRIVE WAY AND THE E BRAKE ENGAGED ON ITS ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF SO I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE WAY! A MESSAGE IN THE DASH SAID "SERVICE PARK BRAKE". I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BY CHRYSLER TO THE CLOSET DEALER. IT WAS AT THE DEALER FOR 4 DAYS AND NO ONE HAD LOOKED AT IT AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME A LOANER. IT TOOK ME REPEATEDLY GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MAKING PHONE CALLS TO THE SERVICE MANAGER TO GET MY CAR LOOKED AT AND TO GET A LOANER VEHICLE. THEY FINALLY DISCOVERED THERE WAS CORROSION IN THE E BRAKE MODULE AND WIRE HARNESS. THEY ORDERED THE PARTS AND FIXED IN A WEEK AND A HALF. I AM THANKFUL THAT I WAS ONLY BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED, IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED.
AFTER LESS THAN A YEAR AND LESS THAN 18K MILES, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED NEW BRAKE ROTORS BECAUSE MINE WERE WARPED. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT GETTING THEM TOO HOT WILL CAUSE THEM TO WARP. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER NEEDED BRAKE ROTORS REPLACED, ESPECIALLY AFTER 18K MILES, NOR HAVE I ALTERED MY DRIVING STYLE. MY LAST VEHICLE WENT OVER 100K MILES WITHOUT EVEN NEEDING BRAKE PADS. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE THE BRAKES, NOT THE WAY I DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THERE WAS A SUDDEN INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER IN MAY OF THIS YEAR. I CONTACT MY DEALER AT CHAMPION DODGE, 9655 FIRESTONE BLVD, DOWNEY, CA 90241, (562) 231-3500 AND WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD CALL BACK AT THE END OF JUNE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY BRAKE BOOSTER IN. IT WAS STATED THAT JEEP WAS SLOW IN SENDING OUT THE PARTS AND SO THEY DIDN'T HAVE A TIME FRAME AS TO WHEN THEY WOULD GET THE PART. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT NO OTHER DEALER WOULD HAVE THE PART BECAUSE IT WAS THE SAME SITUATION FOR ALL DEALERS. AT THE END OF JUNE I CONTACTED THE COMPANY AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE MY CAR BROUGHT IN FIRST. THIS WAS NOT TOLD TO ME ORIGINALLY AND SO MORE TIME WAS WASTED AS I NEEDED TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR THEM TO DETERMINE THAT IT WAS IN FACT THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I TOOK MY CAR IN THAT WEEK AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MY NAME WOULD BE PUT ON A LIST. IN JULY I CALLED AND ASKED ABOUT THE BRAKE BOOSTER SHIPMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD A LONG LIST AND DIDN'T SEE MY NAME ON THE LIST. SO NOW I AM STILL WAITING. I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE NOW FOR THE SUN VISOR VANITY LAMP. SINCE HAVING THIS CAR I HAVE RECEIVED 3 RECALLS WHICH I HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE WITH ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I WILL NOT BE BUYING A JEEP AGAIN. PLEASE ASSIST ME IN EITHER CANCELING OUT THIS LEASE OR HAVING THESE RECALLS FIXED. I HAVE ALSO ALREADY EXPERIENCED THE BRAKES BEING PUT ON BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND IT FLASHES "BRAKE" ON THE DASHBOARD. THANK YOU. *TR
WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (P14/NHTSA 14V-154) FROM CHRYSLER SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH OUR DEALER FOR NECESSARY REPAIRS. THE DEALER INFORMS US THAT SPARE PARTS ARRIVE SPORADICALLY AND IN SMALL QUANTITIES. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH CHRYSLER'S RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER ABOUT THEIR TEPID RESPONSE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE AND THEIR NEED TO DRAMATICALLY INCREASE ALLOCATIONS WITH APPROACHING COLD WEATHER. THEIR REPRESENTATIVE WOULD PROVIDE NO ASSURANCES THAT PRODUCTION WOULD BE INCREASED TO MEET DEMAND. I AM ROUGHLY #210 ON THE LIST FOR REPAIRS AT MY DEALERSHIP. ACCORDINGLY I AM REGISTERING A COMPLAINT ABOUT CHRYSLER'S POOR RESPONSE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE THAT SHOWS ON YOUR WEBSITE WAS DATED 5/14/14. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY CHRYSLER UNTIL JULY 2014 OF THE RECALL. THE DEALER ORDERED PARTS JULY 30, 2014 AND AS OF TODAY ARE SAYING THEY STILL CANNOT GET PARTS FROM CHRYSLER AND THEY DON'T HAVE ANY ETA ON WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. THE DEALER REFUSES TO TELL ME IF THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE WAITING ON THIS FIX. THE RECALL NUMBER IS P14/NHTSA 14V-154. *TR

WENT IN TO STATELINE FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL AFTER RECEIVING A LETTER STATING THE PART WAS IN. AFTER SITTING FOR AN HOUR, I WAS THEN TOLD I DID NOT HAVE A PART THERE AND I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR A LETTER. ANOTHER WORDS THE DEALERSHIP GAVE MY PART AWAY AND A 2ND LETTER HAS NEVER COME IN THE MAIL. THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. *TR
JEEP HAS RECALL FOR A SHIELD TO BE PLACED OVER BRAKE BOOSTER. WHILE INSPECTING DEALER FOUND THAT MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER HAS A LEAK. INFORMED BY DEALER WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS I WOULD HAVE LOST ALL BREAKS WHILE DRIVING. PART IS ON BACK ORDER WHICH SEEMS VERY STRANGE. HAVE CHECKED AROUND THE COUNTY AND NO ONE HAS THIS PART AND EVERYONE SHOWS AN EXPECTED SHIPPING FROM THE MANUFACTURE NOT UNTIL SEPTEMBER. THIS COULD BE A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM FOR JEEP. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE TIME. *TR
