ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Tucson vehicles manufactured May 19, 2015, to November 14, 2016, and 2017 Santa Fe vehicles manufactured November 28, 2015, to November 14, 2016. The affected vehicles may be equipped with an accessory trailer hitch wiring harness that, due to a malfunction of the tow hitch module, may result, in the trailer brake lights being constantly illuminated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Fix: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected accessory trailer hitch wiring harnesses, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 13, 2017. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai's number for this recall is 153.

Rear driver side door suddenly will not open from outside or inside. A rear passenger would be essentially trapped in the car should an incident/accident happen. I googled and it seems this is a well known issue affecting several model years of Hyundai, including my 2017 model.

On July 22nd, the duel clutch malfunctioned & caused the vehicle gear shift to no longer engage. The car does not move in Drive or Reverse. It can only be pushed in Neutral or towed.

My vehicle was broken into on Nov. 17, 2022 and thieves attempted to take the vehicle after smashing the back passenger window and gaining access. The vehicle alarmed once they either attempted to either open the drivers side door or start the vehicle.

Subsequently following an engine replacement due to recall, there is now an electrical issue which has caused something to burn or possibly start fire as there is a burning smell from the hood and heat coming from under the hood into the car's cabin from the dashboard area and the drivers seat bottom is very hot.

The driver side passenger door will not open with pulling on the door handle multiple times, about 10+ tries with a lot of force to get the door open. This is not a lubrication issue, I have lubricated the locking mechanism and is hasn't helped at all. Imagine if the car rolled over and was on fire and this door wont open, its terrifying to think.

There is a current recall on this vehicle: NHTSA recall number20v543000. I have called the dealer and they have no idea of when hyundai will provide a fix. Since this defect can cause the car to catch fire can you please find out about the fix for this problem.

I purchased 2017 tucson brand new at roughly 22k my engine seized and the 3rd connecting rod failed. After engine replacement I continued to have problems with rear driver side brake light continuously going out, bulb is not out but wiring scorched and bulb somehow continuously becomes loose. I have replaced front headlights repeatedly with the driver front shattering in housing.

NHTSA #20v543000 recall number 195 still has no remedy for this year model. The dealer I just bought my vehicle from has 13/14 certified pre owned with open recalls of this nature. I purchased and then was told I could not take it until the recall was fixed.

N june 24, 2019 I discovered my vehicle was cyber control hacked.. Mysterious radio code, interference with sirius radio signal, channels kept changing, cannot control volume, discovered an alien iphone connected to blue tooth, malicious link appeared on 6/11/19 when radio was taken down to manufacturing settings.

Following the knock sensor detection system update, this car has a P1326 code that forces it into limp mode. Occurs during moderate-hard acceleration, e.g. getting on a highway.

The controls (buttons) on the right side of my steering wheel progressed from slow to respond to completely unresponsive, and then the driver airbag light started coming on. All of the lights on the dashboard and check engines light were illuminated. The speedometer would not work and the stick shift would stick in park causing me to have to release the shift lock manually to drive. The failure mileage was 59,450.

The vacuum pump on my 2017 hyundai has a faulty cap resulting in an electrical error to the CAN system. This causes dash lights ABS 4WD parking break stability control TPMS sensor check engine light to eliminate and the speedometer to not work. All of the systems are not opperating due to the system not being able to communicate.

The car will not start consistently and most dangerous if we use our bights (lights) for just a second even, the car will shut down and restart when the bights are released.

Door smart key button has broken (driver's & front passenger's door) user is unable to lock/unlock the car. User must use the beeper or key to unlock/lock the car. Went to dealership and the told me that the car has been forced by someone because is very easy to steal.

When trying to turn off the tucson (vehicle has push button start) to refill the gas tank, the engine didn't turn off. While the engine was on, it restarted again the engine, all the warning lights turned on in the dashboard and the engine started to vibrate violently with RPM's around 500 RPM. Some seconds later the engine RPM stabilized (normal idle).

On november 3rd, 2016 I purchased on 2017 hyundai tucson with $1500 and my 2016 hyundai elentra trade-in. Onor about january 3rd, 2018 I experienced an issue of the driver seat not reclining and inclining, leaving me stuck in certain positions. I scheduled service at sage hyundai and soon after the company closed without providing a service location.

Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle's backup camera has experienced blacking out after the initialization blackout with regular frequency. When putting the car in reverse the screen initially shows a black screen until the camera intializes. Then the picture of behind the vehicle shows, followed by the backup guide lines.

THE BRIGHT LIGHT / TURN SIGNAL ARM HAS AN OFF..AUTO..ON ROTATING END THAT CONTROLS THE HEADLIGHTS/DASH/BRIGHT-DIM CONTROL. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON BRIGHT YOU HAVE TO PULL THE SWITCH ARM TO DIM THE LIGHTS. THE TROUBLE IS THE ROTATING END MOVES FROM AUTO TO OFF, SHUTTING ALL THE LIGHT DASH ETC OFF. SINCE YOU ARE DRIVING AT 55 TO 75 MPH AND ALL THE LIGHTS GO OFF LEAVING YOU MOVING HIGH SPEED IN THE DARK HYUNDAI IS ENDANGERING MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THE PASSENGERS INTENTIONALL BECAUSE OF THE POOR INCOMPETANT DESIGN. THEY SHOULD RE DESIGN THE SWITCH ARM AND REMOVE THE LIGHT SWITCH FROM THE END OF THE TURN SIGNAL ARM. I HAVE TO TAKE NITRO GLYCERINE BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO DEATH. OTHER DRIVERS HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. ALL TUSCONS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE ROAD UNTIL THIS IS FIXED. THE DEALER DOESN'T CARE. HYUNDAI SHOULD BE FINED AND JAILED FOR DANGEROUS ENGINEERING. IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES!

Myself, like others I have seen report the issue. The door (for me driver side front) will not open from the outside latch after door is unlocked. Can only open door from inside latch.

2mois et demi après l'achat le GPS qui change de langage, il montre plus les détailles, aucun signe de circulation ou autres et pourtant le deux premier mois tous fonction bien , pas de son dans la radio, je ne peux pas fermer les portes, j'ai du la fermé manuellement, l’arrière de la voiture qui s'ouvre toute seul, j'ai été pour faire des achats a mon retour j'ai trouvé l’arrière de la voiture ouverte (coffre) et pourtant j'ai bien vérifié avant de rentrer dans le magasin puisque ce n'ai pas la première fois que le problème ce pose, j'ai informé le concessionnaire il me dit que c'est moi qui a appuyer sur le bouton par erreurs, je l'ai informé que ce que je me suis dites la 1er, 2eme et 3eme fois mais là c'est plus que 10fois , hier c'est l'ouverture du toit qui ne veux pas s'ouvrir complètement, j'ai essayé aujourd’hui mais rien il s'ouvre a moitié, le GPS il redeviens comme avant, chaque jour une nouvel chose que faire????
