2017 Hyundai Tucson Airbags Problems

Airbags failed to deploy at utility pole collision.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the air bag failed and in the event of a crash the air bag would not deploy.

Passenger air bag off light remains on whenever an adult weighing more tha 120 lbs are sitting in the passenger seat with a small pillow or seat cushion on the seat. Pillow is needed to enhance seating comfort, especially on long road trips. Light does work when pillow is not used.

When the car is started the airbag light on the dashboard lights up. It will eventually turn off anywhere from 5-30 minutes. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer and was informed , after 10 hours, that they do not have the equipment required to conduct a diagnostic test and they don't know how long it would take to obtain equipment once they requested it.

Airbag indicator icon stayed lit rather than going out after a few seconds when car was started. Problem identified by dealership as air bag needs to be replaced. The dealership will have had my car more than 2 months because there are no airbag mechanisms in the us and we are waiting for more to be produced.

Frontal side was badly hit by other passing car .in a crossroadm..the vehicule was wrecked but the airbags did not deplyed. I contacted hyundai usa and they told me to contact hyundai pr. Created a case #3830 but the investigatro closed the case without notice or inspecting the damaged or claim
