2024 Honda Prologue Backup System Problems

On multiple occasions the alert for either the forward or rear collision warning system will sound with nothing either in front of or behind the vehicle. In these cases, the car automatically braked and brought the car to a stop in the middle of my driving. The component is not available for inspection.

The parking collision warning will alert and emergency brake for no reason while still several feet from anything near the Prologue. This was demonstrated for and confirmed by the dealership. Then they shrugged and said that Honda has not issued a fix for the problem.

The automatic emergency braking (AEB) system or collision avoidance feature in my 2024 Honda Prologue has malfunctioned. The car abruptly applies the brakes when backing out of my driveway, and also engages when driving forward and getting too close to other vehicles or when changing lanes, even when there’s sufficient space.

The warning system is over-sensitive. Front Collision Warning - The forward collision warning randomly comes on while driving. Once, I was coming to a stop and at least two car lengths away when the system alerted me.

When the car is in reverse it will slam on the brakes abruptly while flashing the cross traffic or rear collision warning lights when nothing is there. It’s very annoying and can be a safety hazard especially if it is icy or snowy. I have found myself sliding on ice and snow when in reverse because the vehicle slams on the brakes.

Parking sensors will go off at the most random times. The most common is when I’m at a standstill at a traffic light and the front parking sensors will start beeping as if I am as close as possible or about to hit an o next in front of me. Rear parking sensors consistently alert and beep when there is nothing behind me.

The automatic emergency braking system that works with the rear cross traffic warning is not functioning correctly. It is available for inspection upon request. The braking system brakes when reversing even when the way is completely clear.

Every day when backing out of the driveway the car activates the rear emergency breaks as it “sees” my neighbors parked truck across the seat. At no point is my car anywhere near th parked truck. Also, the emergency brake activates multiple times.

The system does not reliably "see" pedestrians or cross traffic or often times will phantom brake when there are no obstacles viewable. I believe this is a substantial safety issue because the car will abruptly stop without warning and engage a parking brake, creating a delay before being able to vacate traffic. This has happened going forward, but more frequently in reverse.

When going in reverse my Prologue will slam on the brakes even when there is nothing behind me.

All ADAS systems have to be turned off. Even if switched to alert only the vehicle will randomly break very hard while driving. Also will randomly not allow you to back out of your garage.

I've had to turn off all the safety features in my car on multiple occasions. I nearly got hit by several cars turning into driveways because the car's sensors detected a vehicle on the driveway. Additionally, the sensors mistakenly detected another car pulling out of a shopping center, which caused heavy brake locking.

When backing out with ZERO obstacles or things in either direction the car will suddenly come to a violent stop. Had to turn off rear safety camera braking system, as it is useless and dangerous.

While driving on the highway with no one in front of me, the car unexpectedly slams on the brakes. This issue consistently happens at a specific part of the highway where there is oncoming traffic and a slight incline. It seems like the sensors may need to be reconfigured.

Regularly slams the emergency brakes when reversing out of the driveway when there is nothing there to warrant an emergency brake Additionally, it will not release the brakes for several seconds. I feel this could leave me stuck in the middle of the road and vulnerable to getting hit by an oncoming vehicle.

I cannot back out of my garage or down my 20 foot driveway without the car emergency braking 2-3 times. There is nothing behind me. This happens every time.

every time you drive out of our parking garage your warning system will slam on the brakes even if you are not even close to anything....the brake force is extreme and dangerous. extremely sensitive

The vehicle slams on its brakes during attempts to back up on a random basis. Strong safety concern when parallel parking and it stops several times in a row when it is nowhere close to a car. This also occurs in empty parking lots
