While driving at 35 mph, your driver's side airbag and seat airbag deployed suddenly without being in a crash. This happened at 172,000 miles on your vehicle. The airbags deployed unexpectedly, which could cause injury during normal driving conditions. A mechanic will need to diagnose why the airbag sensors or wiring triggered deployment when they shouldn't have.

Your driver's side curtain airbag and seat belt airbag deployed while you were driving, even though your car wasn't in a collision or impact. The airbags deploying suddenly blocked your vision and created a dangerous distraction. Your Honda dealership confirmed the deployment happened without any impact, but there were no warning lights beforehand. The airbags will likely need to be replaced and the deployment system will need to be diagnosed to prevent this from happening again.

Your side airbag warning light turned on, indicating that your side airbags are disabled and won't deploy in a collision. This is a safety concern that needs immediate attention. A mechanic will need to diagnose the airbag system to identify the root cause, which could involve replacing sensors, wiring, or the airbag control module.

CrashFiled: Apr 2024

Your car was involved in a crash in October 2023, and the airbags failed to deploy when they should have. This is a serious safety issue that needs immediate investigation by a qualified technician to determine why the airbag system didn't function as designed. The repair will likely involve a complete airbag system diagnostic and replacement of any faulty sensors, wiring, or airbag modules.

CrashFiled: Nov 2023

Your car was involved in a high-speed rear-end collision at 60-70 mph that caused severe front-end damage and was declared a total loss by insurance. Despite the significant impact force, the front airbags failed to deploy, and the driver struck their head on the steering wheel, resulting in a concussion with ongoing medical effects. The owner reported this to Honda in October 2023 but did not receive follow-up communication as promised. Addressing this issue would require Honda to investigate the airbag system's deployment sensors and electrical connections to determine why the safety system failed to activate.

Your passenger-side airbag system is showing a warning light on your dashboard. This means the airbag may not deploy properly in a crash, which is a serious safety concern. You should have a mechanic diagnose the airbag system right away to identify and fix the underlying issue.

Your engine is misfiring in cylinder 1, causing the car to either shut down completely or hesitate severely while driving. You've spent thousands on repairs over the past two years, but the fixes haven't been permanent. Honda has acknowledged this is a known issue on certain models but won't provide warranty support for vehicles after 2014. The repeated repairs suggest this may be a design defect rather than normal wear.

While driving at 65 MPH, your check engine light started flashing and your car began vibrating and losing power. A mechanic diagnosed the problem as fouled piston rings and replaced your spark plugs to fix it. This issue has been associated with a class action lawsuit involving piston ring fouling. The repair involved cleaning the piston rings and replacing the spark plugs.

When you start your car after it's been sitting for a while, you hear a metal rattling or clattering sound for 2-3 seconds that goes away once the engine warms up. This doesn't happen if you start the car again within an hour or two. You've been told the VTC (variable timing control) actuator may be failing, which could allow engine oil to drain and cause a dry start condition. The repair could be expensive and may involve replacing the VTC actuator or related timing system components.

You discovered that your 2011 Honda Accord's odometer may have been rolled back before you purchased it. The odometer showed 110,655 miles when you bought it, but the title and Carfax records indicate the actual mileage was 304,415 miles at the time of an emissions test. This appears to be odometer fraud from a private sale. You may want to contact law enforcement and your state's attorney general's office to report suspected odometer tampering.
