Absolute unacceptable level of rust to the body and frame. Even with regular car washes, sitting for a year covered. It’s literally totalled and I am out of a car. It’s a 2012 with this amount of rust
Pulled out of a side street Taylor onto a main highway 39 beach Blvd and car jolted and didn’t have much go. Seemed sluggish. Transmission mount bolt had snapped off and I could have been in a major accident because I had oncoming traffic coming at me when I merged into the street and lost power because of the incident.
SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, THE SPRING BROKE ON THE FRONT LEFT STRUT ASSEMBLY. IT DIDN'T BREAK IN JUST ONE PLACE, THE SPRING BROKE IN THREE PLACES. TWO PIECES OF THE SPRING FELL TO THE GARAGE FLOOR. I AM GLAD THAT IT HAPPENED IN THE GARAGE AND NOT ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I HAVE THE PIECES AND WILL INCLUDE THE PICTURE IN THIS REPORT. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO GET SERVICED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I AM HAVING THEM REPLACE BOTH STRUT ASSEMBLIES. I COMMUTE FOR WORK AND IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING I WORRY THAT THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES ACROSS THE INTERNET, I BELIEVE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE REPORTED AGAIN TO THE NHTSA.
BACKED OUT OF GARAGE AND NOTICED LEFT FRONT OF HOOD WAS LOWER THAN RIGHT SIDE. FOUND A BROKEN SPRING ON LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY. WHEN REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT SPRING, I FOUND THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE 2ND BREAK ON THAT SPRING, THE OTHER BREAK WAS HEAVILY RUSTED, SO HAD HAPPENED LONG BEFORE. THE NEW BREAK WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 COIL FARTHER UP THE SPRING. WHEN I REMOVED THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY, I NOTICED THAT SPRING WAS ALSO BROKE AND HAD BEEN FOR A LONG TIME AS WELL. BOTH SPRINGS WERE BROKE IN ALMOST THE EXACT SAME SPOT, RIGHT WHERE THE SPRING IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY THE LOWER SPRING SEAT. IT APPEARS THAT THIS WOULD BE A HEAT TREAT ISSUE WITH THE SPRINGS AND THERE WOULD BE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I DID HAVE A COWORKER WITH THE SAME BREAKS ON HER MERCURY MILAN, SAME MODEL YEAR. MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP VISITS DID NOT NOTICE THE BREAKAGE, BUT DID NOTICE AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE, NOT SURPRISING. ASSEMBLIES ARE STILL IN MY POSSESSION. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE OF THE RIGHT SIDE SPRING, YOU CAN SEE THE AMOUNT OF RUST ON AND AROUND THE BREAK AND ALSO SEE THE BREAK IS AT THE END OF THE LOWER SPRING SEAT.
WHEN I WAS DECELERATING THE CAR WOULD VIBRATE. ONLY HAPPENED IN TOWN, NOT ON HIGHWAY. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVESHAFT AND LEFT SPRING, WHICH WAS BROKEN!
HAVE FOUND ONLINE THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS IN PROCESS ON MY VEHICLE THAT THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF. ALSO, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR SURGING FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. THIS POSES A HAZARD OF ME ACCIDENTALLY HITTING ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME WHEN TAKING OFF.THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE I LEASED THE CAR IN MAY OF 2018. I DO NOT REMEMBER HOW MANY MILES WERE ON THE CAR AT THE TIME.
IT WAS A CHAIN-COLLISION. THE LEXUS IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED INTO AN ACURA, AND I SLAMMED INTO THE LEXUS AT ABOUT 50MPH. SEVERE DAMAGE TO MY CAR (IT HAS BEEN DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY INS.) WE WERE SOUTHBOUND ON I-35 NEAR THE CONTINENTAL EXIT IN DALLAS TEXAS ON SUNDAY MAY 13 2018 AT ABOUT 3PM.

LETTER FROM SENATOR ISAKSON ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE REPAIR DATE FOR 2012 FORD FUSION TWO SAFETY RECALL NOTICES. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIRS. *JS
JUST HAD RECALL # 16B38 DONE 1/24/18. DRIVING MY HUSBAND TO WORK AND MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT TO HAVE SCAN DONE AND IT'S MY GAS TANK OR CAP? THE TECH TOLD ME MY TANK IS NOT BREATHING, NEITHER AM I. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS, # 17S01. THAT'S ALL I NEED TO HAVE AN AIR BAG GO OFF AND KILL EVERYONE IN THE CAR. THERE IS ALSO A RECALL # 15S18 THE STEERING. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD GET THESE RECALL'S TAKEN CARE OF AND RE DO THE RECALL # 16B38. SOMETHING WENT WRONG. THE CAR IS IN MICHIGAN, SO WE NEED A FORD DEALER IN MICHIGAN. PLEASE EMAIL ME OR CALL ME AS SOON AS YOU CAN GET THIS SET UP. ALSO JUST REPLACED FRONT AND REAR BRAKES, ROTORS. THEN TURNED AROUND GOT NEW TIRES AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, DONE IT. LOVE MY CAR BUT HATE THE COST TO FIX, FORD IS EXPENSIVE. THANK YOU
OCTOBER 14, 2015 REPLACED BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS (BROKE NEAR THE TOP). I KNOW THAT ONE OR BOTH OF THEM BROKE WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO START DOWN THE STREET. THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME THAT I HEARD A LOUD NOISE LIKE A SPRING BREAKING AND STARTED TO HEAR A RUBBING SOUND A SHORT TIME LATER, WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS THE BROKEN SPRING RUBBING AGAINST THE TIRE.
BOTH THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT SWAY BARS HAVE COME LOOSE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE RESULTING IN BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AFTER 51,700 MILES. THIS IS A CAR HAS MET ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND IS WELL CARED FOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DIAGNOSED, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEED OF MAJOR REPAIR. THE DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCED FAILURE CODES: (DTCS) AND (P07AEN AND 0415) REGARDING THE CONTROL ARMS IN THE LOWER SUSPENSION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS RIGHT AND LEFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD ROARING AND CLICKING NOISE. THE CONTACT NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,700.
THERE HAVE BEEN FOUR INCIDENTS WITH THE CAR: *THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED IN LESS THAN A YEAR *THE CAR SHUT OFF ON THE INTERSTATE IN 60 MILES PER HOUR TRAFFIC *CAR TAKEN IN JUNE 2014 FOR A RECALL *LAST INCIDENT, CAR IS 2 YEARS OLD WITH 44,000 MILES, FRONT END FAILURE; PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR INCLUDE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND TIE ROD ENDS AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1500 I'VE CALLED FORD TO REPORT THE LATEST INCIDENT AND HAVE NOT HAD ANYONE TO CALL ME BACK TO DISCUSS THE CAR'S MALFUNCTIONS. FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO THEIR MANAGER, ALL I HAVE RECEIVED IS A PROMISE THAT I WOULD HEAR FROM SOMEONE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY. THIS RUN AROUND HAS GONE ON FOR THE PAST WEEK. *TR
HAIL DAMAGE, PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR, COULD BE REASON FOR UNEXPLAINED TIRE TREAD WEAR, AND/OR KNOCKING SOUND WHEN BACKING UP AND TURNING. MY FUSION IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE ADVISE WITH ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY BE HELPFUL.
NOTICED A NOISE IN RIGHT FRONT QUADRANT WHILE SLOWLY DRIVING THROUGH LOCAL PARKING LOT. NOISE APPEARED HAVE A "ROTATING' COMPONENT. SUSPECTED A CV JOINT FAILURE. DEALER DETERMINED A FAILURE IN LOWER BALL JOINT. DESIGN REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY. RECOMMENDED REPLACING BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS. COST TO ME IS $750.00. DEALER REP'S STATED THAT FAILURE IS THE RESULT OF ABSENCE OF GREASE FITTINGS IN SUSPENSION ASSEMBLIES. OEM REPLACEMENTS MAY NOT HAVE GREASE FITTINGS EITHER. *TR
