2015 Ford Focus Fuel System Problems

I have pick up issues due to recalled fuel cpv. I have to maintain above 1/2 tank of gas or else the fuel gauge does not register correctly causing me to run out of gas before the gauge registers empty. This has happened while I was in transit.

My 2015 ford focus has been having stalling issues. My VIN# is on the recall list and the letter that I received from 12/2018 advised that I keep at least half a tank of gas in my car. However, my car stalls even when I keep a full tank.

After having a recall done in december of 2018 for the canister purge valve, or know as recall 18s32 all that was performed was a reprogram and nothing else. A year later my vehicle is experiencing the same problems as before, the vehicle only has 65k miles on it.

Car is stalling at low speed and losing power. Does not do it at high speed. Occasional check engine light. Will start surging. This is a know issue with the Ford Focus and Ford has issued a Customer Satisfaction Program 24N07. They refuse to honor the program unless you keep paying them for diagnostic work until the code shows up for it. I have ran the codes myself on it and it is fuel related to the Canister Purge Valve. This issue is very dangerous in that the car does stall out on the road with no warning. I have had this issue with the car for several years and have received the CSP letter but cannot get the work done. The issue happened 3 times yesterday, 11-5-2025.

To Whom It May ConcernI am writing regarding the fuel system recall on my 2015 Ford Focus (VIN: [XXX] ), specifically related to Recall Number 18S32 / NHTSA Campaign Number 18V735000, which involves the canister purge valve, a required PCM software update, and inspection of the gas tank. This recall was started at a Ford dealership in Two Harbors Minnesota which I paid cash in December 2022. The problem consisted with many inconveniences in side of the road break downs. I had the recall serviced again in 2024 in Blythe CA at Ford where the purge valve was supposedly replaced, but the software update was never completed by that Ford because they claimed that the update was done in Parker AZ around 2022. The gas tank was not inspected for damage. My car is stalling in the middle of driving leaving me in grave danger since this happens on the freeway in Las Vegas, in the middle of nowhere in the desert and has done so in below zero degree in Minnesota all while I have my two small children in the car with me. This jeopardizes myself and children’s lives by stranding us in unknown places and weather elements that are harass or stalling on freeway not allowing me enough warning to get to the side of the road which could cause someone to hit my car from behind at a high rate. The full recall has not been performed. I bought this faulty car in Parker AZ which it should have never been sold with this problem jeapordizong my family’s life. The fuel tank has never been inspected either. Recent: The car keeps dying in traffic in Las Vegas traffic. I paid to have it towed to a dealership which is harassing me and not fixing the car with excuse after excuse such as the car isn’t under recall and the battery terminal needs to be cleaned. This vehicle stalls while driving due to a faulty purge solenoid inspected by Pep Boys mechanic. There was a recall on the ford focus in 2018 18V735000(recall number) I purchased this vehicle in 2023 with no known recalls. This issue occurred September 2024 I paid for the repair two weeks ago and now the same issue is existing. There were no warning lights displayed when the car stalled while driving. My safety and the safety of my child is at risk being that the vehicle stalls while driving which is could be the cause for accidents and or collisions

This car has had repeated issues rough idle after fueling for years. Replacing the oxygen sensor did not resolve the problem. The dealer resetting the car's computer did not resolve the problem. I recently had to replace the canister purge valve (CPV) after the car began stalling after fueling. This resolved the idle issue. I noticed Ford recalled CPVs on Ford Focuses built in Michigan (as mine was) between 2012-2018 (GDI) and before 2017 (GTDI); however, my car was excluded from this recall. Can you please investigate to determine if there are additional vehicles which also received defective parts for which the cost to replace them should be covered? Thank you.

We have had a repeated code p090c that has ultimately LED us to the clutch actuators which are controlled by the tcm. This has caused the transmission to jump into other gears while driving, preventing the movement of the car once parked/then engaged into reverse stops working. Within the 24 hour period, the codes disappear then the mechanics cannot diagnose or confirm the issue???

There is an active recall on my vehicale for cpav valve. My car is experiencing all symptoms of the recall, but the dealership is telling me I might not be covered because my vehicle passed a test a few months ago when I brought it in for another issue (the transmission, which was under warranty).

I have already fixed a recall that I just received notification of via postal mail. I will upload a pic of the recall letter and a pic of the receipt that this service was already completed prior to the notification. I had to get it repaired due to the fact the car was not accelerating properly prior to the repair.

I have this error code from a obd-2 code reader from autozone. Dealership didn't give me any feesback on the check engine issue when I had it in for a fuel tank issue. Error code is 'u0109 lost communication with fuel pump control module (fpcm)' the car sat in the driveway all summer long with a full fuel tank of gasoline.

I think I have a faulty fuel modulator related to the recall of the bosch fuel pump systems that's affected the 2014 ford focus and the 2015 vw's. My car won't start turn over immediately after full refill of gas tank. I've noticed that gas actually spills out under the car after filling up all the way.

Recall notice was 'software' update to detect hardware issue. No issue detected. The hardware that had issued failed 2 weeks later.

I drove to the market to get some food and when I came back the car would not turn on we tried jump starting and it seemed like it wanted to start but it didn't.

In my garage would not start half tank of gas. Bought a new battery I didn't need. Then I got letter for recall which said they would contact me in february 2019.

Took car in for recall in january, now it's acting up again,not shifting gears while driving. In shop now.

This recall has been since 12/2018 and ford has no parts to fix this. I have called corporate and they do not know when they will get them. This issue has now made the car undrivable and they will not help me.

Car randomly shuts off. No warning is given. Car will shut off while in motion on any city street.

On 2 occassions with the dash indicator indicating available battery power, the vehicle has shut down suddenly.
