ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Escape vehicles manufactured April 1, 2014, to June 12, 2015, Ford Focus vehicles manufactured June 17, 2014, to June 12, 2015, and Ford C-Max vehicles manufactured April 22, 2014, to June 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the engine may continue to run after the key or the START/STOP engine button is turned to off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the body control module software, free of charge. The recall began on July 27, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15C06.

Radio and speakers have not worked for over a year- making loud popping and screeching sounds. Automotive center #1 stated it was a computer system fail and they could not fix it because they did not have the proper software. Then I went to get a new fuse for the cigarette lighter and was told something is leaking.

I literally just bought the car with the shuddering when coming off of a complete stop and was told it was my tires. I have gotten all new tires and it is the same problem not solved. Then my car started to have a bigger problem with the radio one day out of no where my speakers started to be staticky.

October 15 2015 I bought a ford focus 2015 s 4dr from the dealership. Right away had issues with it stalling and shorting out the computer and keeping a charge. However on january 4th 2018, I was sideswiped going 45 MPH and collided into a tree and a few other vehichles also.

After stopping to get gas on I-80 at a service area in indiana with the car in park and not running the engine caught on fire. The car is a new vehicle, still under warranty with about 5,000 miles on it. Ford determined that the fire would not be covered by warranty.

Driving my vehicle in normal conditions with over 30 miles left to a charge on a suburban street going approximately 45 miles per hour, suddenly a red triangle warning appeared on the dash stating stop safely now. 60 seconds later the vehicle shut off and I lost all power leaving me stranded in the dark in the middle of the street.

My car does not accelerate on the road when my foot is pressing down on gas pedal but RPM increases resulting in stalling in motion like conditions. It is very scary and frustrating for me and my occupants that ride with me to work.

I was getting ready to leave the grocery store and I crank up my car and I had a light come on stating that my car was overheating transmission turn off the car and as I tried to pull out of the parking lot, the car would barely accelerate it would barely go to mountain and it was stuttering up the heels I had to turn off the vehicle. Let it sit for five minutes to let it cool off and then I had to crank the car back up and then it started to drive again, but I did get a indication on my front dash stating that it was transmission

A major electrical issue has occurred in this car since June 1, 2025. The Traction Control System dashboard indicator (the skidding car) comes on even though I am not using the TCS. When this happens, I get a message saying "Hill start assist not available," and am unable to manipulate my headlights, use turn signals, or lock/unlock my doors (I need to use the physical key to lock/unlock the driver's side door). If this "Hill start assist" issue occurs and I turn off my car (or if it occurs when the car is off), then I am unable to start my car. I get a new message saying "No Key Detected," and the ignition does nothing. I have a physical key, and not a fob. If the TCS light goes away, then I am able to start up my car. However, this is unpredictable; there appears to be no way to force the TCS light to disappear, and sometimes it will stay on for over an hour with my key in the "on" position. As of late, it hasn't gone away at all, making the car unusable. This causes obvious safety issues when on the road, as I cannot use turn signals or change my lights as it gets darker or it begins to rain/snow. When not on the road, I cannot use my car at all. A dealer recently confirmed the problem with the Body Control Module, but was unable to fix it. They managed to turn the car on, but the problems returned after 24 hours. As I was driving home on July 18, 2025, the TCS light came on and suddenly I could not use turn signals or change my lights. I still had over an hour to drive home. I did arrive home safely, but have not been able to use my car since.

My transmission is always having problems with it. My check engine light will not turn after put over $5,000 into it.

MY car shuts off while driving and I don't understand why because my battery is new and all other components don't seem to be the issue I.e.: battery, starter, alternator. My safety and the safety of my passengers were at risk because the car shuts off with no warning while driving.

When driving my car the first day I bought it, the wrench icon illuminated, telling me to check the manual. I figured I would do so after work, but as I tried to start the car to leave work, I received a "Stop Safely Now" message and could not start the car. It had at least 30% charge, being electric, so that had nothing to do with it not starting.

I was driving down the highway and my door locking latch and cable failed. The door came open going 75 MPH.The defective dealership part I found out is the subject of recalls on other Ford Focus year models but my model was left off the recall. This is a huge safety concern as my door is unable to lock at all times including highway driving.

My car shut off randomly in the middle of lane and on the highway too. My car show "system fault". Didn't start until I put a new battery. The next day it happened again it show again "system fault". So I change a wire sensor that connects to the battery. It work then while you are driving it stop or when you are parked too. I really don't want to drive I'm afraid I get into a accident while on the road.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR THE CENTER DISPLAY WHICH HAS MY ODOMETER AND DIGITAL SPEED AS WELL AS ANY WARNINGS FOR MY CAR SHOWED LINES ACROSS IT AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO READ. IN RESEARCHING IT I FOUND THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THESE CARS AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY GO COMPLETELY BLACK AND NOT WORK AT ALL.

Every 4 days the stereo drops the bluetooth connection. Thought maybe it needed a software update. Then I noticed my MPG was only at 13.3mpg while highway driving.

Electrical system that supports the radio. I would like to report this electrical because something leaked from the radio area, burning the car interior near the radio. Radio started making a popping noise before the burn.

The radio quit working but more importantly it makes intermittent popping noise so loud it hurts your ears. It even does it with no keys in the ignition. After internet research this has been happening in models since 2012, mine is a 2015.

The car speakers have been making popping and crackling sounds so loud that I have jumped while driving, including once jerking the steering wheel. There does not appear to be any pattern (no ties to turning, accelerating, braking, bumps in the road, etc.) to the sounds. This happens whether the stereo is on or off, including after the car is turned off until the door is opened.

After driving the vehicle and parking, after putting it in neutral with the e break on and pressing the engine start stop button to turn it off, the engine shuts off but the display on the radio after sitting in it for a while says "turn off ignition saving power" or if I go to get in the car the next day it sounds like it's dead then starts with everything reset

Wind shield wipers malfunction after 15 to 30 mins they rapidly speed to and you are not able to control module. Then wipers slow down and turn off and are unable to come back on. Also when you turn vehicle off windshield wipers stay on.

When I took the key out the car was still running we pulled the ignition fuse to shut it down but all the inside lights were still on the dashboard lights like the car had died we disconnected the battery so the battery wouldn't be run down I googled it and it said that there cars were recalled for a microsoft problem I wondered if mine was included in that

The fuel gauge reads wrong by atleast an 1/8 of a tank and and when it says you have 30 miles till empty you might get 10 miles before you run out of gas.it will not give you any warning when it runs out of gas it will start to suppder and then will not start until you put more gas in.and you can smell gas inside the car.it happens while driving or just idoling.
