ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Escape vehicles. The passenger side instrument panel cover may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Fix: Dealers will replace the passenger side instrument panel cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 18, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C38.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION BATTERY:MANAGEMENT SYSTEM/ENERGY CONTROL MODULE (BMS/BECM)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Ford Escape, and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair vehicles. A manufacturing defect in one or more of the high voltage battery cells may result in an internal short circuit and battery failure.

Fix: Owners are advised not to charge battery till the remedy has been completed. Dealers will perform a battery energy control module (BECM) software update, and replace the high voltage battery pack, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 30, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S79.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2023-2025 Escape, 2023 Lincoln Corsair, 2025 Lincoln Corsair, Maverick, and Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L or 2.0L MPC engine and an engine block heater. The engine block heater may overheat when the vehicle is parked with the block heater plugged in.

Fix: Dealers will replace the block heater element and inspect the electrical cord, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded blanking plug coupled, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed June 11, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. The parts are anticipated to be available April 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S52.

Your 2024 Escape's advanced safety systems (like automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot warning) have had ongoing failures that required multiple service visits. When the dealership performed a master reset of your vehicle's modem to try to fix these issues, it erased all your FordPass account access, safety alert history, and diagnostic data—making it impossible to verify whether these safety features are working properly or to track what problems occurred. The underlying safety defects were never actually fixed by this reset. Restoring your vehicle's safety system monitoring and diagnostic capability will likely require reprogramming the modem and re-establishing the FordPass connection and alert logging system.

Multiple safety features on your 2024 Ford Escape—including blind spot detection, cross-traffic alert, park aid, pre-collision assist, and front camera—have stopped working reliably and display constant warning messages. Your vehicle has been at the dealership for over 62 days total (38+ days continuously) with Ford engineering unable to find a fix or provide a repair timeline, even after replacing a major electronic module. These failed systems create safety risks when changing lanes, backing up, parking, or during potential collisions. The repair will likely require Ford to develop and test a software or hardware solution for the vehicle's central electronic control systems.

Your 2024 Ford Escape isn't recording safety warnings from its lane departure and backup prevention systems, even after multiple repair attempts since November. This means critical safety alerts aren't being saved or logged, making it difficult to diagnose what's going wrong and preventing you from knowing when these safety features have failed. The lane departure and backup warning systems themselves are also unreliable, which could make lane changes and reversing less safe. A fix will likely require Ford to replace or reprogram the alert recording module and ADAS control systems.

Your forward collision avoidance system is showing a malfunction warning at startup, even in clear weather conditions. This suggests an electrical or sensor problem rather than a temporary obstruction issue. The fix will likely involve diagnosing and replacing the camera or related forward collision avoidance system components.

Your car has needed 4 replacement 12-volt batteries since March 2024, which is unusual for a new vehicle. The first sign of battery failure is that the interior lights don't turn on when you open the driver or passenger door, creating a safety concern when entering your dark car at night—you're exposed on the street while your eyes adjust to the darkness. The repeated battery failures also mean your car may leave you stranded and needing jump starts. Diagnosing why your electrical system is draining the battery so quickly will likely require a full electrical system inspection and possible replacement of a faulty component.

Your 2024 Ford Escape is subject to a recall (Campaign 26V091000) for an electrical system issue, but the parts needed to fix it aren't available yet. Your dealer has confirmed the parts are on backorder. You haven't experienced any actual problems with your vehicle yet, but the delay in obtaining replacement parts has extended beyond what you consider reasonable.

Your front seat heaters won't automatically lower the temperature once they reach a high level — they just stay hot. Unlike previous Ford models you've owned, these heaters require you to manually turn them down to avoid potential burns from prolonged exposure to the heat. The dealership and Ford haven't been notified or looked into this issue yet.

Ford internal engineer emails from Aug 5–6, 2025 show Ford KNEW about this safety defect months earlier. The engineer told the dealer it was “ok and safe to drive with the warning messages” and admitted “engineering is aware of some customers still experiencing driver assist issues and software update is in the works.” The dealer also reported THREE other Escapes with the same failures. Ford Customer Service also emailed me saying “the dealership and engineers have not been able to resolve the concerns.” My vehicle is now 40 days out of service with Ford engineering still unable to fix the ADAS failures after module replacement.

In May/June 2024 at approximately 8350 miles the Accessory Protocol Interface Module ("APIM" failed. On the Center Display, I lost display and audio. This failure also impacted hands-off features, radio, use of traction /snow/slippery features, map, vehicle manuel, bluetooth, etc. The dealer service department (Autonation Westlake, Ohio) replaced the APIM at that time In September 2025 at approximately 48,300 miles there was complete failure of of the Center Display impacting the same features noted above. In addition the interior lights are not properly working. The service department of the dealer (Autonation Westlake, Ohio) informed me that their diagnotics revealed the failure of the Audio Control Module and the possibly the APIM. The service department replaced the Audio Control Module. This did not correct the problem. The service department said that the APIM, which had been previously replaced, needed to be replaced. After nearly eight weeks, the APIM has not been replaced. The service department has been unable to send the code to Ford Motor to get the replacement part. The Center Display and many other features are not working as of today's date 11/21/2025.

Version, perfectly formatted, non-repetitive, and aligned with the newest updates (vehicle still in shop, engineering cannot fix, extended delays, failed module replacement). Yes, use today’s date (Nov 21, 2025) as the incident date. ⸻ Complaint #7 – NHTSA 900-Character Version (Copy/Paste Ready) Incident Date: 11/21/2025 After a dealership-installed replacement of the IPMA/Front Camera module (authorized by Ford engineering) 11/14/2025 , the ADAS safety systems (BLIS, Cross-Traffic, Pre-Collision Assist, Park Aid, and alert history logging) are still malfunctioning. The vehicle has now been out of service since Nov 3 and the dealer reports that Ford engineering is still unable to identify a fix. The alert history remains corruptive and fails to record events. This is still unresolved ADAS issues and prolonged repair delays. Dealer has been exceptional in communication and left (2) voicemail stating Engineering hotline continues working on it but Ford’s inability to provide a remedy leaves the vehicle unsafe and unusable until further notice. Nov 3 - ongoing in shop.

For the second time now (first time was also reported to NHTSA) the backup camera froze on display touch screen and stayed there while driving forward down the road. No functions requiring the touch pad can be accessed while backup camera frozen. Car was shut off for couple hours and when restarted was still frozen on screen It did reset next day and has worked fine since. Checked with Ford and no known recall yet for this car though Ford has recalls for several other models with same problem. My 2023 Maverick had the same problem, was recalled. Waiting for recall on this car but nothing yet.

I am experiencing persistent issues with the windows on my 2024 Ford Escape, specifically on both the driver and passenger sides, which struggle to raise and lower, producing unusual noises and leaving marks on the glass. Despite two visits to the Ford dealership where I purchased the vehicle, which is located far from my residence, the problem remains unresolved. During my second visit, I was initially offered a loaner car but had to wait over 3 hours only to be told that none would be provided, with the technician concluding that no trouble codes were found. Subsequently, I scheduled an appointment at a different Ford service center; however, they require me to leave my car for an unspecified duration without offering a loaner vehicle, which is unacceptable given my reliance on the car. Consequently, I am expressing my extreme frustration and dissatisfaction with the service provided by Ford.

While driving down the interstate at 60mph, screen displayed two error messages: “parking brake function limited” and “collision assistance unavailable.” I completely lost brake function for ~10 seconds. Only didn’t crash because no one was stopped ahead of me. Took to dealership who “couldn’t replicate” the issue, later told me they had fixed it by reprogramming the software. Two inconsistent answers gave me no sense of trust in the repair. This issue could kill somebody if at the wrong time and they were completely indifferent. I’ve since traded the car but have no faith Ford has any desire at all to investigate or resolve what could be a fatal error to someone.

The car would act like it would die or cut off after idling for a while at a drive thru or school pick up. Took the car twice to the dealership they couldn't replicate it. Then the car died and shut off in the middle of a busy intersection at a red light. I was nearly hit head on and rear ended. I got the car started and out of the way and I had it towed to the dealership. The cars check engine light was on. It had never shut off before or had the engine light come on until then. It said crank shaft sensor and the PCM weren't allowing proper engine control. And the dealership has had it sense then. Bought the car in August 2024 and January 2025 the dealership has had my car. It is now march 2025. I have invoices. They say it's fixed every time I would pick the vehicle up and it never is.

I stopped one day to get some gas and when I tried to start my 2024 Ford escape back up it failed to turn over. I started to get notices from my Ford pass app stating that I was having some issues with my turbine. The vehicle was leaving me stranded every time I tried to start it and it would try to stall on me. The engine didn't seem like it had enough power to run at a proper and normal status as an engine should properly run. When I would start the vehicle it would only start one time and then proceeded to stall on me and leave me stranded everywhere I went. The problem was never fixed. Then the dash lights started to tell me that the driver needed rest and flash a coffee cup in front of my eyes after I just got in the vehicle about 5 minutes before the lights came on. There was an awful smell that came out of the engine. I'm glad that my car didn't catch on fire before they repossessed it and I stopped making payments because the car was messed up and I'm not paying for a messed up vehicle but there was a serious issue with my 2024 Ford escape and I'm glad that they came and took it from me hopefully that kept me alive instead of burning up to death. Thank you
