2017 Ford Edge Other Problems

at this point, I have been told to come in for a diagnostic check (my time off from work), but no parts and cannot fix it if the brake hose is leaking, my rear view camera is acting up at least on a weekly basis, can be at times more often then that, and they do not have the parts, also Ford is NOT making the parts at this time per warrentary employee at the dealership.

Recall notices sent out September 2025, no updates have been provided. I have contacted the dealer for additional support, and they just can confirm parts are not available.

Took my car to my mechanic said that coolant was draining into my 2.0 ecoboost engine in cylinder 4 causing misfire, white smoke to come out of my pipes, sweet antifreeze smell in the cabin. Have to constantly dump coolant into the car so that it doesn't over heat.when I start the car in the morning it acts as if the car is going to die if I don't hit the gas.

The backup camera doesn't come on when backing up. You can't see persons or objects behind you that could cause injury or death. Vision is obstructed by the build of the SUV in the rear of the vehicle.

Engine miss fire cylinder number 4 and coolant leak with no visible leak anywhere but now adding half gallon of coolant every couple days. Was told about possible recall of ecoboost 2.0l engine on 2017 ford edge with a coolant leak/miss fire of engine causing destruction of the engine and or causing a fire with the car.

When got into a fender bender, originally it was just the bumper. After a wheel, there was a noise coming from the car when idling. Once taken in for repair, repair company stated it was the AC fan that was the problem which was not done by the crash but elsewhere.

I got in a accident on 12/24/2020. Certain features did not work to aware me of an collision. The car was totaled and my life changed due the injuries I sustained.

I bought this vehicle from Family Ford in Enfield CT and they did not provide me with a car fax when I asked 3 times for it. I wanted to see if I could trade it in at a Volkswagen dealership and they gave the car fax, and it was in an accident. A very serious one where they hit the driver's side left rear.

Outside temp 51*F, car auto start enabled and used. Rear glass exploded after a 7 min warm up. Rear defrost was on.

Bought a used 2017 Ford Edge in June of 2021 75K miles. three weeks later the check engine light came on. Diagnostic code was misfire in the number 2 cylinder.

On 5 different occasions, this vehicle suddenly loses power & acts like it's running out of gas. It "studders" for 15-20 seconds & then begins to run fine. It seems to happen when a left or right turn has just been completed.

Exhaust fumes entering vehicle cabin immediately after engine start, reversing vehicle, or simply idling. There already exists a TSB, 18-2057 for exhaust odor in vehicle for this year ford edge. This vehicle is in perfect conditions and has no accident history.

The sun visor on the passenger side fell out of the headliner on the mounting side the first time we put it down--it hung down about two inches. Today under rapid acceleration the other side came out of it;s clip fastener and the whole unit fell down about ten inches in front of my wife face.

I have a 2017 Ford Edge and have the issue of intrusion of coolant into the cylinders, which I learned from some research is a known problem that this model is having. It initially was a check engine light. I brought it to an oil change place and they ran the code and said I needed a tuneup.

I have 2 manufacture RECALLS………. -1st recall is very recent “NHTSA Safety Recall 22V413……….waiting on Ford to distribute the parts to dealerships. -2nd recall is from 2020 “Front Brake Flexible Hose Leaks”………I’ve contacted 4 local Ford Dealers in the Jackson area, TN…….and NO ONE HAS THE BREAK HOSES.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at 50-60 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle.

While driving, code says "hill start assist not available" and sputtering/power loss on road. Turned car off and started again, barely made it 1/2 mile home. Waited 2 days but code showed immediately when starting car.

A year ago my check engine light came on and the car felt like it was misfiring when I pushed the gas so I took it in to the dealership and they said that there was coolant leaking into the engine. They fixed the head gasket and replaced the cylinders and it ran okay for a while.

Hi I am the owner of a 2017 ford edge fwd last week on the 1may 2019 while driving on highway 400 in woodbridge ontario exiting the ramp to langstaff rd I applied the brakes but the brakes failed to stop I applied the emergency brakes and drove about a mile to my home address while the vehicle was parked in the driveway I noticed some oil under neath the car engine the next day I towed the vehicle to the ford dealer in woodbridge and after is was examined by them I was advised that both front brake flex house were broken leaking oil.

While driving vehicle both myself and my wife became very light headed and that was followed by an extreme headache and nausea. Had vehicle towed to local dealership they proceeded to do a TSB that needed to be done and updated the computer. We took vehicle back drove it and had same problem.

7/15/17 at 867 miles while reversing down my drive my edge engine stopped. I contacted the dealer after it stopped twice more driving forward. Towed for safety.

I hit a utility pole head on. I swerved to miss a car. I was traveling a speed at about 25 miles a hour.

Two NHTSA notifications received in september 2025 and have yet to be contacted by fmc regarding repairs. Have concerns with brake line recall and at current time have completely blurred camera, and unable to view rear camera while backing up. Contact local dealer regarding repairs but they are unable to make repairs until fmc notifications.

There are two safety recalls for my car. Service brakes and rear camera. The camera stopped working four years ago.

Rear differential has gone bad and needs replaced due to unsafe to drive

Bad catalyst converter. Needs to be replaced.Vehicle is not even 10 years old

Coolant leaked into the engine due to failed parts/seals on the car and therefore it now needs a brand new engine. Ford is aware of this issue and even issued a TSB. According to a mechanic as well as the Ford Dealership Service, it needs a complete new engine.

My vehicle has the same issues related to a recall where the coolant leaked into a cylinder effecting the engine which now has to be replaced. The problem is that this recall is VIN specific which eliminates my vehicle from this recall. It is my opinion that this needs to be reviewed because somewhere along the lines somebody dropped the ball.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The Engine had to be replaced due to coolant and oil leaking through the 4th cylinder into the engine itself, effectively killing it. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?

Our 2017 Ford Edge recently started a rattle noise when we start the engine.

This is regarding reference number 830243. We took our car to the dealership in Huntington Beach California for a recall regarding the flex plate being cracked. The dealership asked if there were issues to the acceleration and if the car was shaking, I said yes.

Within the past few weeks I recall hearing an explosive sound while driving. I pulled over to assess the situation but could not see any obvious cause of the loud noise. I seldom open the moon roof but when I did I made the connection between the explosive sound and the shattered glass moon roof.

Moon roof glass cracked on its own, looks like a spider web. Afraid that glass cracks will continue to grow and begin leaking or worse chip off shards that could possibly cut skin. Has not been inspected by dealer, police, manufacturer or insurance.

Underbody shield fell off car made noise-needed to fix dealer replaced sheild & said many other customers had same problem no warning or symptoms

My APIM has failed. It Will cost $900 to replace it at the Ford Dealership where I purchased it used 1 1/2 years ago. Why isn't there a recall on this for 2017 Edge?

automatic door latches and inside lights and flashers switch on and off randomly. It does not matter if the car is being driven or sitting overnight in the driveway. This may cause the battery to drain and require jumping off.

In February we had a knocking noise when driving 2017 Ford edge. We took into dealership and had a cracked flywheel. Currently, our 2017 edge is back in the shop with another crackes flywheel.

The description below is what has occurred with my vehicle. It has a cracked flexplate resulting in loud noise when starting engine and when idle or at low speed. Vibration in steering wheel.

My sunroof randomly cracked while I was going down the highway. Nothing hit it so I was curious if this was a common problem.. I looked around online and found that it is in fact a common issue with some people's sunroofs even exploding!!!

I went to the dealership where I bought my 2017 silver ford edge, because on 5/8/2020 the engine icon came up on my dash. So I immediately stopped at the local jarett ford dealership in lakeland, fl, thinking it just needed an oil change. After I got this done, the engine icon never went and I began to experience my vehicle shaking and it also began heating up.

I purchased a 2017 ford edge, in 2017, which ran fine at first. A year in, the car would run rough, and twice bogged down and turned off. Started again, replaced battery with under 2yrs of use and kept working.

The rear glass panel in the panoramic sunroof has spider cracks throughout. The car is normally parked in a covered area. I had the sunroof open two weeks ago and there were no cracks at that time.

Today, I noticed wavy cracks throughout my rear sunroof (as I walked out to my stationary parked car). They are all over the place. I have never had any trauma to the roof.

10/13/2018 - at 28,500 miles. Noticed just yesterday when opening panoramic sunroof curtain in driveway, what looked like a large puddle of water on sunroof while parked. Was not there the day before.

I had a recall performed last year because my car wouldn’t drive no matter what gear I shifted it into, that was the shifter cable recall. This December I was driving and the car started to roll backwards and now no matter what gear I shifted in unless it was in e brake.

I'm having a issues with the decklift gate adjar with light on while travel. Also it was not closed properly shut tight. Even I open the gate door it won't open or closed.

Since November I am smelling antifreeze and exhaust in the cabin of the car. It was so bad it would burn my eyes- we had to ride with windows open, in the winter in the NE. Took to Ford the found a TPI on the exhaust odors but have to go through “steps” to find it.

Glass roof cracks... They appear to be stress fractures. Both on the front moon roof panel and the rear panoramic glass panel.

Noticed crack in panoramic sunroof when parked in home garage; no point of impact detected

Glass panoramic moon roof has spider cracks throughout. This was not caused by any impact. This is an inherent manufacturer defect.

Cracked sun roof. Vehicle was stationary.

Power liftgate came down while stationary unloading groceries striking my girlfriend in the head.

Sunroof has cracked for no apparent reason. Nothing has come in contact nor has anything hit it directly. Not sure of when the cracks occured.

Purchased this 2017 ford edge titanium AWD as a demo from town and country ford in louisville kentucky. Vehicle had 5800 miles. The vehicle stays garaged at my home address.

The rear hatch closed on me without any kind of warning as I had my hand's full with groceries an could not stop the door . The car was in park the ignition was off
