criticalFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE
CrashFiled: Oct 2025

While driving straight on a dry, well-marked highway with your hands on the wheel, your truck's Lane Tracing Assist unexpectedly steered you toward the right guard rail without any warning alerts or automatic braking. Your truck struck the guard rail, and none of the safety systems — lane departure warning, steering correction, or pre-collision braking — activated even though road conditions were ideal (dry pavement, clear lane markings, daylight). The issue may involve a malfunction in the driver-assist software or sensor calibration for Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. A Toyota dealer will need to diagnose the lane-keeping and collision-avoidance system sensors and software to identify why the safety systems failed.
