RECALLCampaign #25V595000

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner vehicles. Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

Fix: Dealers will update the instrument panel software for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB08 and 25TA08. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB05 and 25LA05.

Your truck caught fire underneath the bed while you were driving about 15 minutes into a trip in February 2025, just a few months after you purchased it in September 2024. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle. You're reporting that Toyota has not offered assistance or taken responsibility for the fire.

Your 2024 Tacoma's instrument cluster display is blank, making it impossible to see your speedometer and other critical gauges while driving. Multiple Toyota dealers have refused to fix this safety issue because replacement parts are currently unavailable. This defect is preventing you from getting commercial insurance and safely operating the vehicle for work purposes. The repair will require Toyota to supply and install replacement instrument cluster components once they become available.

Your truck caught fire in the bed while driving on the interstate at only 8,022 miles, forcing you to pull over and call 911. The vehicle was a total loss, and despite insurance and authorities ruling out foul play, Toyota has refused to investigate or provide assistance. The manufacturer may need to inspect the electrical system and structural components to determine the fire's cause.

Your 2024 Tacoma is displaying a drive start warning and brake malfunction warning on the dashboard. After the dealer replaced the fuel pump, both warning lights returned immediately in the parking lot and the vehicle would not move. This suggests an underlying electrical or fuel system issue that wasn't resolved by the pump replacement alone. The dealer will need to perform a complete diagnostic scan of the fuel system, electrical system, and brake system to identify the root cause of these recurring warnings.

Your Tacoma's multimedia touchscreen system is randomly disconnecting and going black, preventing Apple CarPlay from working properly. The screen shows "Retry" messages and forces you to reconnect through Bluetooth settings instead of the normal wired connection, which requires you to look away from the road while driving. Toyota has inspected both vehicles but hasn't been able to reproduce the problem, even though it happens repeatedly with multiple iPhones. The fix will likely involve updating the head unit software, replacing the USB cable/connector, or potentially replacing the multimedia system itself.

Your Tacoma's touchscreen and Apple CarPlay system randomly disconnect and go black while driving, forcing you to look away from the road to reconnect your iPhone. The screen may show "Retry" messages or only reconnect through Bluetooth settings instead of the normal wired or wireless CarPlay connection. This creates a distraction hazard since you lose access to navigation and hands-free calling while the vehicle is in motion. The issue occurs repeatedly across multiple iPhones and both of your vehicles, even though Toyota dealerships have been unable to reproduce it. Fixing this may require software updates to the multimedia system, checking the USB connections and cables, or replacing the head unit.

Your gas gauge is displaying inaccurate fuel levels. After filling up 3 days ago with minimal driving, your gauge showed different readings each time—jumping from 3/4 tank to full, then back to 3/4 after resetting. This could cause you to misjudge how much fuel you actually have and risk running out of gas. The issue may be related to a faulty fuel level sensor that will likely need to be inspected and possibly replaced by a dealer.
