Your car's roof panel is developing rust that's eating through the metal from the inside out, which two body shops say requires a full roof panel replacement. Water can seep through the rusted areas and potentially damage your airbags and electrical systems. The rust started with small bubbles a few years ago but has progressed significantly. Fixing this will likely involve removing and replacing the entire roof panel.

Your car's coolant system failed because coolant was leaking into the catalytic converter. Multiple mechanics across different states, including a Toyota dealer, identified this as a defect specific to the 2019 Prius that requires a repair costing over $2,000. The warning light didn't illuminate until all the coolant had already drained from the system.

Your engine temperature warning light came on while driving on the freeway. The dealer found that your coolant reservoir was very low due to a leak in the exhaust center pipe that allows coolant to escape internally. This repair costs over $2,000 since your warranty has expired, and you're concerned this is a design flaw that could cause dangerous engine overheating. The fix will require replacing the leaking exhaust center pipe and refilling the cooling system.

When driving at low speeds with your windows down and the car stereo playing, the music can be loud enough to drown out the pedestrian warning sound that's designed to alert people outside your car. This means pedestrians may not hear the warning tone and could be at risk. The fix would likely involve adjusting the audio system settings or the pedestrian warning speaker volume to ensure the warning sound is always audible.
