Some times car will not accelerate no matter how much stepping on the gas pedal, car will slow down like its going to stop or no power to the car while car is moving/driving. All lights on the dash board lights up, one of them that is known is the "brake malfunction" light.
Brake light switch failure causing loss of break lights and other safety features such as emergency stopping, lane change notification, loss of anti-lock brakes, and other safety features.
After 4.5 years of owning and operating this vehicle I have noticed some major issues with headlights. Positioning of headlights is very awkward. I avoid driving at night because of this. Even when headlight setting is on the last position I can hardly see a thing in front of me. I have had other drivers flash their lights on me when approaching from the opposite direction because my lights are apparently too bright, but I am not using high beams. I keep my headlights clean and free of debris but problem is still there. I get that blinding another driver/pedestrian is not safe but I have had many instances of driving at night and larger cars (namely SUVs and pickups) swerve into my lane almost causing an accident because they cannot see my car due to the low placement of my car's headlights. When I do turn on my high beams I can see everything that the normal headlight settings refuse to show, from the stop signs that are several hundred feet away, to pedestrians crossing the street several blocks away. On normal setting I'd be lucky to even spot a pedestrian jaywalking across the street before it's too late. I have driven other sedans before and the difference is quite large, how is it that with older cars I can see more without the high beam setting on but with the 2018 Camry I need to bump it up to high beams just to see better at night? Toyota still has not even fixed this even now with their current Camry lineup. At this point having an SUV/pickup serves to be a great advantage.
HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM HAVE BEEN DESIGNED WITH LIGHT/DARK ZONES WHEN FOCUSED FOR THE FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. THERE IS LITTLE DIFFUSION OF LIGHT INTO THE UPPER{DARK} ZONE AND OBJECTS ABOVE THREE FEET OR SO ARE NOT ILLUMINATED AT 100 FEET. I RECENTLY PASSED A PEDESTRIAN WALKING ON THE ROAD SHOULDER, AND THE PERSON WAS ONLY VISIBLE FROM THE WAIST DOWN. STOP SIGNS ARE NOT ILLUMINATED, BUT THE POLES ARE. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK THE LIGHTS AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE SET TO THE DESIGN SPEC. I CONTACTED TOYOTA INC. AND WENT THROUGH THREE LAYERS OF PEOPLE TO BE TOLD THAT IT IS AS DESIGNED AND COULD NOT BE CHANGED. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD.
RENTAL CAR, HEADLIGHTS FOCUSED TOO LOW. ALMOST WENT THROUGH TWO STOP SIGNS IN CA AS THE HEADLIGHTS NEVER SHINED ON THE SIGNS. IN MOTION ON A 30MPH STREET WITH MANY STOP SIGNS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE AT THE TOP PART OF THE TAIL LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BOCH TOYOTA IN NORWOOD, MA, 781-769-8100) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNUSUAL AND THE LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE TECHNICIAN CALLED THE CONTACT BACK LATER AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRIMMING AROUND THE DASHBOARD REFLECTED ONTO THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MIRRORS, CAUSING A DISTRACTION FOR THE DRIVER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A DESIGN ISSUE AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4. *TT UPDATED 8/9/18*JB
