WHEN THE SEATBELT GETS PUSHED INTO THE BUCKLE IT DOES NOT SECURE NOR STAY LATCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND I WENT TO TRAVEL AND THE BUCKLE DOES NOT LATCH AT ALL.

THE REAR CENTER SEAT BELT BUCKLE IS STUCK.
MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID'S DRIVER SEAT BELT LATCH MALFUNCTIONED. IT BUCKLED NORMALLY, HOWEVER, WHEN I WENT TO UNBUCKLE THE SEAT BELT, THE SPRING INSIDE THE MECHANISM WRAPPED AROUND THE NOTCH IN THE METAL SEAT BELT LATCH. THE SPRING WAS COMPLETELY REMOVED WITH THE SEAT BELT. THE SEAT BELT NO LONGER FUNCTIONS PROPERLY AND WILL ONLY LATCH IF THE SEAT BELT FASTENER BUTTON IS DEPRESSED AND THEN RELEASED WHILE THE SEAT BELT IS INSERTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT MECHANISM WAS FRACTURED AND THE SPRING IN THE LATCH WAS COMING OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VALLEY HI TOYOTA (14612 VALLEY CENTER DR, VICTORVILLE, CA 92395, (866) 632-6290) AND THE SEAT WAS REMOVED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DISCLOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,137. *DT*JB*JB
THE MOLDING AT WINDSHIELD HOLDING SIDE AIR BAGS IS DETACHING FROM WINDSHIELD ON PASSANGER SIDE. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO VEHICLE THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS.
DRIVERS' SIDE SEAT BELT FAILS TO RETRACT COMPLETELY UNLESS "COAXED." THIS LEADS TO IT BEING INADVERTENTLY BLOCKING THE DOOR FROM CLOSING. THIS BEGAN AT OR ABOUT 45,000 MILES. THIS IS ABNORMAL FOR A SEATBELT, IN MY EXPERIENCE, AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. MY 1991 GMC S-15 STILL HAS NO PROBLEM RETRACTING BELTS, WITH 243,000 MILES ON IT. GIVEN THIS CONDITION, THE SRS SYSTEM OF THE SEATBELT LOCKING IS QUESTIONABLE!!! DEALER SERVICE WRITER CLAIMED REPAIR/REPLACING DEFECTIVE RETRACTOR IS AT MY EXPENSE.
CPSC: I1350123A. COSCO CAR SEAT. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE INERTIAL LOCK CREATED A PROBLEM REMOVING THE SEAT BELT BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH SLACK TO UNLOOP. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED A CHILD TO PASS OUT. *LN A THREE YEAR CHILD, MANAGED TO WRAP THE SEAT BELT AROUND HER NECK. THE CONSUMER STATED ALL NEW VEHICLE, SHOULD COME EQUIPPED WITH A TOOL TO CUT SEAT BELT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
