I was driving my car when suddenly the speedometer started going from 0-60 back and forth, the rpms was all over the place, the brake light came on and stayed on and the lights was going from bright to dim, there was a couple more lights aluminized on my dash. After googling the problem that nearly caused me and my children to crash, there is so many people affected by this same problem in the 2007 toyota camry. Why hasn't this been recalled or class auctioned. Also my dash board is sticky like tar.

The contact stated that the dealer technician would have to remove the entire bumper in order to sand and clean the interior of the headlights.

HORRIBLE LOW-BEAM LIGHTING. TOYOTA RESPONSE IS "GIVE ME OVER $1,000 AND WE WILL REPLACE FIXTURES". I HAVE OWNED MANY CARS IN THE LAST 54 YEARS (ONE FOR 18 YRS) AND NEVER HAD HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS. TOYOTA OUGHT TO BE EMBARRASSED INTO AT LEAST REPLACING THEM AT COST. I'M GUESSING THE COATING ON THE LENS IS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE NOTHING ELSE HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

ONE OR THE OTHER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY GOES OFF WHEN DRIVING. IT'S A RECURRING PROBLEM. DEALER REPLACE BOTH BULB AND BOTH TRANSFORMERS AT A COST OF $1160.

THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WILL TURN OFF WITHIN ABOUT 30 SECONDS OF TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON. THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL BE ON AFTER TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF AND ON AGAIN. THIS PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT WILL THEN TURN OFF AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED.
DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL UNEXPECTEDLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. HEADLIGHTS WILL BE OPERATING NORMALLY AND WITHOUT REASON, ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT. THIS PRESENTS A DANGER TO ME IN MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. ON MAY 8TH 2015 , I WAS TAKING A TRAFFIC IN A CURB ON IRVINGTON AVE NEWARK NJ THE STEERING WHEEL STUCK AND I COULD NOT HAVE ANY BREAK SO THEN THE CAR GOES STRAIGHT WITH ME TO A POT LIGHT,I HAVE SERIOUS INJURIES IN MY CHEST AND LOWER BACK, MY CAR IS COMPLETELY BROKEN( DRIER'S FENDER,FRONT LIGHT,RADIATOR, SUPPORT RADIATOR, LOWER ARM CONTROL , WATER PUMP,WOOD,WHEELS,BUMPER ETC...AND THE REST OF THE NAME THAT I DON'T REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING WEEK ,I CONTACTED TOYOTA ; THEY OPENED A CLAIM UNTIL 30 DAYS AND ABOUT ANOTHER 60 DAYS AFTER INSPECTED MY CAR THEY SENT A LETTER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CAN'T DO NOTHING FOR ME ;THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR.PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE THE NEEDS A LOT OF MONEY TO BE FIXED.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON A RURAL STRETCH OF I-85 IN NORTH CAROLINA. I HAD REPLACED THE RIGHT FRONT LIGHT ONLY THREE DAYS EARLIER. THE HIGH BEAMS CONTINUED TO WORK BUT THE NEXT DAY IN A TEST IN DAYLIGHT THE LOW BEAMS WORKED AND THEN FAILED AGAIN WITHIN FIVE MINUTES AND THE HIGH BEAMS ALSO FAILED WITHIN TWENTY (20) MINUTES. I HAVE SINCE READ THE ONLINE WEBSITE AUTO RECALLS FOR CONSUMERS (ARFC) THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM IN 2007 TOYOTA SOLARAS. TOYOTA IS RISKING DEATHS BY NOT ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED TOYOTA (800-331-4331) BUT TOYOTA WAS [XXX] AND HAD HEARD NOTHING ABOUT NOTHING. THE REACTION WOULD BE HUMOROUS EXCEPT THAT IT HAPPENS WHILE PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED AND IT COULD KILL THEM, ESPECIALLY AT 70 MPH, THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT ON I-85 IN RURAL NORTH CAROLINA. THE RIDERS SIDE FRONT LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT OPERATES INTERMITTENTLY. WE RECEIVED A FIX IT TICKET; BUT THE LIGHT WORKED THE NEXT DAY AND GOT THE TICKET SIGNED OFF. HOWEVER THE RIDERS SIDE LOW BEAM LIGHT CONTINUES TO WORK AND NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY. OUT MECHANIC TOLD US THE HIGH INTENSITY LIGHT MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS NOTIFIED MY RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT WAS OUT EARLY IN JULY, 2011. I TOOK IT TO BE REPAIRED AND WAS INFORMED THAT A "MODULE" NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THESE WERE 'HIGH INTENSITY" LIGHTS. ON JULY 12,2011 THE MODULE WAS ORDERED BY MY MECHANIC AND INSTALLED ON JULY 13, 2012. IN FEB, 2012 MY LEFT FRONT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. MY MECHANIC ORDERED A NEW MODULE ON FEB 15, 2012 AND WAS INSTALLED ON MARCH 1, 2012. IN JUNE, 2012 I WAS STOPPED BY POLICE FOR HAVING ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT. AT THAT TIME MY LEFT HEADLIGHT WAS OUT AGAIN (ONLY 3 MONTHS LATER). WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS I NOTICED THAT INTERMITTENTLY MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THE RIGHT, SOMETIMES THE LEFT, AND SOMETIME BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. IF I SWITCHED FROM AUTO TO ON, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WOULD TURN BACK ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINS THEN EITHER ONE OR BOTH WOULD SHUT OFF. IF I SWITCHED FROM ON TO AUTO, THE SAME WOULD HAPPEN FOR A COUPLE MINUTES.I RETURNED TO MY MECHANIC, BUT UPON DRIVING AND KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON HE COULD NOT GET THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN.THAT WAS ON JULY 20, 2012. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD TO REFRAIN FROM USING MY CAR AFTER DARK, BECAUSE FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE LIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF. THERE ARE TIMES I HAVE ALL LIGHTS AND THEN ANOTHER DRIVER WILL INFORM ME THAT I HAVE NO HEADLIGHTS AT ALL. I AM AWARE THAT THE TOYOTA PRIUS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS HAPPENING AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AS WELL.THESE LIGHTS AND MODULES ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND HAVING TO REPLACE THEM EVERY 6 MONTHS OR ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD SEEMS RIDICULOUS WHILE AFTER REPLACING, THE PROBLEM CONTINUES.THE LACK OF HEADLIGHTS AND NOT KNOWING WHEN THEY GO OUT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK FOR INJURY AS WELL AS OTHERS. THE DEALER SUGGESTED REPLACING THE BULB AND THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
HIGH-INTENSITY DISCHARGE (HID) HEADLIGHTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. TURNING THEM OFF AND BACK ON TEMPORARILY ''FIXES'' THE PROBLEM, BUT ONE OR THE OTHER WILL GO OUT AGAIN AFTER DRIVING MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES. REPLACEMENT BULBS ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND MANY CUSTOMERS STATE THEY DON'T ALWAYS FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
HID HEADLIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE "FLICKERS" ON AND OFF. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR MANY TOYOTA VEHICLES WITH THIS TYPE OF HEADLIGHT, AND COSTS A SIGNIFICANT AMT OF MONEY TO REPAIR/REPLACE. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS UNEXPECTEDLY FAILED. THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS WERE THEN ENGAGED IN ORDER TO ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY. MOMENTS LATER, THE SIMILAR FAILURE OCCURRED WITH THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE BOTH HIGH BEAM BULBS AND THE HEAD LAMP ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED, AT DIFFERENT TIMES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT ALL FOUR HEADLIGHT BULBS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND POSSIBLY, THE HEAD LAMP ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE WAS 40,000.
DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM (HID) FOR MY 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA SPORT 4CYL HAS BEEN TURNING OFF. I'M UNSURE IF THIS IS THE SIGN OF THE BULB GOING OUT OR IF IT IS SIMPLY SHUTTING OFF. IT COMES BACK ON AND HAS BEEN WORKING, THEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAD BECOME ABNORMALLY HAZY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE REPAIR KIT THAT WOULD BE UTILIZED ON HIS VEHICLE WOULD REQUIRE REPAIRING BOTH HEADLIGHTS AS OPPOSED TO JUST THE ONE FAULTY HEADLIGHT. BOTH HEADLIGHTS WERE BUFFED AND SANDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE EXCESSIVELY BRIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER SANDED AND BUFFED THE HEADLIGHTS A SECOND TIME AND RECOATED THEM WITH PLASTIC BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT WAS THEN REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT HE DID NOT FEEL SECURE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A NEW SET OF HEADLIGHTS TO ARRIVE FOR FURTHER REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,630 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 4,639. UPDATED 03/02/11 *BF UPDATED 08/31/11
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP TURNS OFF AFTER APPROX. TWO MINUTES. I CAN TURN THE LIGHTS OFF THEN BACK ON AND THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON. THEN APPROX. 2 MINUTES LATER IT WILL TURN OFF AGAIN. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB TWICE ALREADY. TOYOTA STATED THEY CAN TAKE A LOOK AT IT TO TRY TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT AND NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *TR
SIMULTANEOUS HEADLIGHT FAILURE ON 2007 CAMRY HYBRID BOTH HEADLIGHTS FAILED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD WORK WHEN TOGGLED TO BRIGHTS. SINCE IT WAS QUITE DARK, WE USED THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND BRIGHTS WHEN THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AN APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN SCHEDULED WITH A TOYOTA DEALER. THE PASSENGER SIDE HID HEADLIGHT TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I CAN TURN IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON, AND IT MIGHT STAY ON FOR 15 SECONDS TO 15 MINUTES. NOW, THE DRIVER SIDE HID HEADLIGHT IS STARTING TO DO IT, TOO. I DIDN'T REALIZE I HAD NO LIGHTS UNTIL I GOT UP ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. *TR
I AM AN OWNER OF A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CONCERNING THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE LIGHTS CAST A DISTINCTIVE SHADOW AND LINE WITH DARKNESS AT TOP AND LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM. AND DEPENDING ON THE CONTOUR OF THE ROAD AT TIMES IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AND PRESENTS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DRIVING HAZARD. AMD OFTEN ON COMING TRAFFIC THINK I HAVE MY HIGH BEAMS ON AND THEY PUT THEIR HIGH BEAMS ON BLINDING ME TO ROAD AHEAD. AFTER ARBITRATION WITH A TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE THE SITUATION HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED TO MY SATISFACTION. *NM
