AIR BAGS
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, DUE TO IMPROPER ASSEMBLY OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR, WHICH IS USED IN THE SIDE AIR BAG, THE CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG, AND THE KNEE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY, SOME INFLATORS WERE PRODUCED WITH AN INSUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF THE HEATING AGENTS NECESSARY FOR PROPER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THIS CONDITION, THE EXPANSION FORCE OF THE GAS MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO PROPERLY INFLATE THE AIR BAG WHEN THE SRS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED DURING A CRASH.
Fix: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SPECIFIC SRS AIR BAG. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 6, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-888-270-9371, SCION AT 1-866-548-1851, OR LEXUS AT 1-800-255-3987.

Whenever I start my car I can see a red triangle symbol I think it’s SRS warning light. Then I check my owner’s manual then I find out that it’s SRS warning lights. I don’t know what to do. Please let me know what should I do?
My dash board is sticky and uncleanable, making it very hard to see out the windshield at all hours day or night, which could potentially cause a crash. I have also noticed tons of people online with the same problem. This needs to be recalled or class action lawsuit.
I'm in love with Toyota. In Brazil I always had cars of this brand, but newer in manufacture. I recently purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry from a third party and at the time of purchase I did not realize the size of the problem. The car as always is excellent. But to my surprise your panel is simply melting. Just tap it and it dissolves in your hand. As it is sticky and sticky in the hot sun, its reflection almost completely covers the front windshield. I need to drive with dark glasses to get visibility. When researching the subject, I realized that this problem is widespread. That all Camry's have this defect. Imagine the danger of those countless drivers driving in poor visibility. It really is a disappointment with Toyota, and I hope they have a solution not only for me, but for everyone, as I consider this a matter of public safety.
Driving around a curve in the highway at about 50 MPH. Truck came into the lane. Driver panicked and pulled to the edge of the lane, lost control of the car. Car spun and both the front end and back end hit a concrete barrier. No airbags deployed. Impact hard enough to lose both fenders and unable to open two of the doors.
I had a rollover accident in my Camry on 5/13/2021. My brakes locked up which sent me into a spin and then eventually flipping over an embankment. Only one of my airbags deployed and it was the passenger door airbag. The rest of the airbags did not go off. Yes the vehicle is still available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because of the brake malfunction and subsequently because of the airbags not deploying in the manner they are aupoosed to. I rolled the vehicle I'm sure the manner in which h I wrecked would have caused all airbags to deploy. No I never seen a brake or a airbag light on my dashboard. No one else has inspected the vehicle components other than an insurance claims rep to determine my vehicle is a total loss. I'm unsure on who I could have look at it without compromising the integrity of the findings. The brakes however were worked on by jd byrider a week and a half before the accident. They changed my rotors.

THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS AIR LIFTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED KNIGHT MOTOR COMPANY DEALER (103 N TIMBERLAND DR, LUFKIN, TX 75901) AND WAS HUNG UP ON. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAY ON WHEN DRIVING
THE PLASTIC PANEL THAT HOLDS THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE (BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE DOOR) IS EXPANDED AND BENT. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG OR IF THE AIRBAG IS EXPANDING INSIDE THE PLASTIC PANEL AND THEREFORE IS DEFECTIVE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SINCE CAMRY WAS NOT PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL AS MANY OTHER TOYOTA MODELS.

I WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AFTER THE VEHICLE ON MY LEFT STOPPED. A FORD PICKUP CAME BARRELING OUT OF NOWHERE, SWERVING AROUND THE OTHER VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THE DRIVER WAS GOING FASTER THAN HE CLAIMED ON THE POLICE REPORT (INCLUDED). WE COLLIDED IN THE INTERSECTION FRONT-LEFT-TO-FRONT-RIGHT. MY CAR WAS SPUN AROUND ABOUT `50 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT, ENDING UP ACROSS THE SIDEWALK. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTALED. THE OLTHER DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND HE RECEIVED A CUT ON HIS FOREHEAD. MY TAKATA FRONT AND SIDECURTAIN AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND I WAS THROWN INTO THE DRIVER'S DOOR, BREAKING FOUR RIBS, A VERTEBRA, SHOULDER BLADE AND MY COLLARBONE. IN THE REBOUND TO THE RIGHT, MY RIGHT WRIST AND RIGHT ARM JUST ABOVE THE WRIST WERE BROKEN. THE FRACTURES WERE SET UNDER ANESTHESIA, AND I SPENT 8 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL AND ABOUT 7 WEEKS IN A CONVALESCENT/REHAB FACILITY. I AM NOW UNDERGOING WEEKLY OT FOR WEAKNESS, LACK OF MOBILITY, AND PAIN IN MY RIGHT HAND AND WRIST, AND POOR MOBILITY AND PAIN IN MY RIGHT SHOULDER.

TAKATA RECALL NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SO FAR. BECAUSE THE 2007-2011 LEXUS ES WAS RECALLED FOR SOME REGIONS, I WAS WONDERING IF THE 2007-2011 TOYOTA CAMRY SHOULD ALSO BE RECALLED AS WELL, SINCE THE LEXUS ES IS BASED ON THE TOYOTA CAMRY.

I WAS RECENTLY IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, I WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER CAR OF THE DRIVER DOOR THE DOOR WAS BADLY HIT/DAMAGED, YET THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. AS THIS WAS A DOUBLE IMPACT ACCIDENT, AFTER BEING STRUCK ON THE DOOR, THE CAR WENT STRAIGHT INTO A HYDRANT POLE, STRIKING THE CAR DEAD CENTER AND CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. AGAIN, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AS I AM NOT SURE OF WHERE THE SENSORS IN THE FRONT ARE LOCATED, I CANNOT REALLY SAY THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, THE IMPACT ON THE DOOR WAS SUFFICIENT FOR THE AIRBAG TO HAVE DEPLOYED. THE POLICE, EMT AND TOWING COMPANY ALL MADE THE SAME COMMENT...THEY WERE CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I ALSO SPOKE TO MY INSURANCE CLAIM ADJUSTER WHO ALSO STATED THAT AT THE VERY LEAST, THE DOOR AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HE IS CURRENTLY STILL INSPECTING MY CAR AND CANNOT COMMENT ABOUT THE FRONT AIRBAGS AS OF YET. IF NEEDED, I DO HAVE PHOTOS THAT CAN BE PROVIDED. MY CONCERN IS THAT HAD I BEEN DRIVING AT A FASTER SPEED OR HAD IT BEEN A HIGHWAY ACCIDENT, THE POSSIBILITY OF A FATALITY WOULD HAVE BEEN THAT MUCH GREATER. IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY, AT FIRST (APPROX. 2011) THE DASHBOARD WOULD FEEL STICKY, AS IF SOMETHING HAD SPILLED ON IT. HOWEVER THE STICKINESS COULD NOT BE CLEANED UP. IT WAS IN FACT THE MATERIAL OF THE DASHBOARD MELTING. IT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE AND SPREADS ACROSS A LARGER AREA, TO THE POINT THAT NOW (2014) THE DASH CANNOT BE TOUCHED WITHOUT A MARK BEING LEFT IN THE MELTED MATERIAL. MY DAUGHTER WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH ON A 4-LANE HIGHWAY IN HER 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. A TRUCK BEHIND HER ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE LANES REAR-ENDED HER AND CAUSED A CHAIN-REACTION CRASH INVOLVING 5 VEHICLES. THE TOYOTA SUSTAINED HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE BACK AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. ALL OF THE TOYOTA'S AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRUCK'S AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED AS WELL AS THE BMW. THE SUV'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY (IT WAS AN EARLIER MODEL SUV). MY DAUGHTER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SHE SUSTAINED A SEVERE WHIPLASH INJURY TO HER NECK AND A BRUISED ARM. I HIT A BMW. I WAS CHANGING THE STATION IN MY CAR AND WHEN I LOOKED UP I WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE BMW TO SUCCESSFULLY STOP BEFORE HITTING THEM. IMMEDIATELY I HAD DIFFICULTY BREATHING, GOT OUT OF MY CAR, LIED ON THE PAVEMENT TO CATCH MY BREATH. POLICE/AMBULANCE CAME QUICKLY, PROVIDED OXYGEN, TOOK ME TO A HOSPITAL. I REMAINED IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 2 DAYS. THE INSURANCE INSPECTOR & BODY SHOP INVESTIGATED THE CAR AND WERE SURPRISED THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T'T DEPLOY AND COULDN'T FIND A REASON WHY THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY GIVEN THE DAMAGE. THE RIGHT AIRBAG SENSOR WAS BENT. MY CAR WAS DEEMED TOTALED. I?M UNABLE TO RETURN TO MY PREVIOUS WORK SCHEDULE (LONG HOURS, INTENSE WORKLOAD) DUE TO CONSTANT PAIN. I MISSED 2 WEEKS OF WORK. DUE TO THE FRACTURE I CANNOT DRIVE FOR 6 WEEKS. I REQUESTED THAT TOYOTA EVALUATE THE CAR TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS A VEHICLE-SPECIFIC DEFECT OR THE ENTIRE LINE (TO PREVENT FUTURE INJURIES). INSTEAD OF DISASSEMBLY AND COMPUTER ANALYSIS, TOYOTA ONLY REVIEWED PHOTOS AND SAID IT FUNCTIONED AS EXPECTED." THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND THE IMPACT STRAIGHT ON AND HIGH SPEED. IF NOT SUFFICIENT TO ACTIVATE THE AIRBAGS, THEN WHAT'S THEIR PURPOSE? THE VEHICLE IS IN STORAGE FOR EXAMINATION. POLICE REPORTS AND PHOTOS AVAILABLE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW 2007 CAMRY LE AUTOMOBILE FROM A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ACTIVATION WEIGHT SENSOR IS INCONSISTENT IN BEHAVIOR AND UNABLE TO READJUST TO A NEW WEIGHT READING DURING A TRIP. MY WIFE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 100 LBS PLUS CLOTHES. ONE TIME OUT OF SEVEN THE AIRBAG SENSOR WILL NOT REGISTER HER AS BEING SUFFICIENTLY HEAVY TO ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG. I ONCE RESTARTED THE CAR SEVEN TIMES TO TRY TO GET IT TO REGISTER. I THEN MOVED MYSELF (174 LBS PLUS CLOTHES) TO THE PASSENGER SEAT, STARTED THE CAR WITH AN EMPTY DRIVER'S SEAT, GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND LET MY WIFE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIRBAG CAME ON WHILE I WAS SITTING THERE, AND DID NOT CHANGE (TO OFF) AFTER MY WIFE REPLACED ME DURING THE 20 MINUTE TRIP. I HAVE HAD TO USE THIS TECHNIQUE EACH TIME THE SENSOR REFUSES TO TURN THE AIRBAG ON WHEN MY WIFE IS THE FRONT PASSENGER. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO TWO DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THE SENSOR CHECKED OUT, AND THEY BOTH INSIST IT IS WORKING FINE. I SUSPECT THAT TOYOTA IS USING SUBSTANDARD PARTS THAT DO NOT DEAL WELL WITH MODERATELY HIGH EXTERNAL TEMPERATURES; SUCH AS THOSE NOT FOUND INSIDE A CLIMATE CONTROLLED MAINTENANCE BAY. I FEAR THAT IN HASTE WE MAY MISS ONE TIME IT DOES NOT TURN ON AND GET INTO A SERIOUS COLLISION THAT INJURES MY WIFE. *TR
