The most reported issue is steering problems (3 complaints). 5 complaints involved crashes.
Open Safety Recalls (3)
NHTSA Campaign: 24V154000
Component: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Titan, Frontier, Infiniti QX60, Pathfinder, 2023-2024 Sentra, Versa, Kicks, Infiniti QX50, and 2023 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
Risk: An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.
NHTSA Campaign: 24V304000
Component: POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Sentra vehicles. The front left-side driveshaft may not be fully seated in the continuously variable transmission (CVT) assembly, or may have a loose or missing retaining clip, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and loss of drive power.
Risk: An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect the front left driveshaft, and if necessary, replace the driveshaft and CVT assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 26, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA37.
NHTSA Campaign: 24V498000
Component: VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Nissan Sentra vehicles. The windshield may have air bubbles on the front lower driver's side, which can obscure the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials."
Risk: An owner who cannot see their VIN clearly may not recognize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire, or a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 29, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA38.

Your gas pedal has stuck twice in the past month when you pressed it fully while getting on the highway, requiring you to brake and kick the pedal several times to free it. The problem doesn't happen consistently, and you're uncertain if winter conditions like snow, ice, or salt accumulation might be involved. This could potentially lead to a serious accident, though you've managed to disengage the pedal both times. The fix will likely involve inspecting the throttle cable, pedal mechanism, and cleaning any debris or corrosion that might be causing the sticking.

Your car sometimes loses power and hesitates when accelerating, especially when turning at traffic lights, though the engine stays running. This has happened at least 10 times since you've owned the vehicle. The dealership found no diagnostic codes, but you've identified a potential recall (NHTSA 24V304000) for 2024 Sentra SV models involving the front left driveshaft that may not be fully seated or have a missing retaining clip. The fix would likely involve the dealership inspecting and properly seating the driveshaft or replacing the retaining clip as part of the recall service.

Steering,suspension →2 issues
While driving your 2024 Nissan Sentra at 55 MPH over a rumble strip, you heard a loud noise from the front and the steering suddenly failed, causing the vehicle to lose control and veer to the right across multiple lanes. When you inspected the vehicle, both front wheels were angled inward at approximately 40 degrees. The steering and suspension system may need inspection to identify what caused the sudden failure and wheel misalignment.

Your car is making clicking sounds from the front end when you turn or drive over bumps and uneven surfaces like driveways. The Nissan dealership has confirmed they hear the problem but hasn't been able to fix it yet. This could indicate a worn component in your front suspension or axle assembly. The fix will likely involve inspecting and possibly replacing front suspension parts like CV joints, control arm bushings, or sway bar links.

Your car's front end is making a popping noise, and this has happened twice within 45 days across multiple vehicles in your fleet. Nissan dealerships have fixed the issue by replacing both front shaft assemblies on affected vehicles. Given that this is occurring repeatedly across multiple cars of the same model, you may want to monitor your vehicle closely for this symptom.

Suspension,power Train,wheels →1 issue
While your daughter was driving at 10-15 mph and turning right, the entire front driver's side wheel assembly suddenly detached from the vehicle, including the wheel, drive shaft, strut, shocks, and brake line. The car coasted to a stop safely, but this is a serious structural failure that needs immediate investigation. The dealer has the vehicle but hasn't diagnosed or repaired it yet. This will likely require replacement of the suspension components, drive shaft, and brake system on that side.

Steering,fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your car shut off without warning in December 2025 with no warning lights, though the fuel gauge showed 30 miles remaining. The dealer blamed low fuel, added gas, and sent you home, but the same problem happened again in February 2026 while you were driving, causing your car to lose power and get rear-ended. The fuel gauge showed about half a tank at the time of the second failure, suggesting the problem wasn't actually low fuel.

Power Train →1 issue
Your car's front axle is making loud clicking and popping noises when turning in both directions, and it has failed twice in less than a week—requiring replacement each time. A damaged axle is a serious safety concern that affects your ability to drive and control the vehicle. The repair involves replacing the front axle assembly with a new one.

Air Bags →1 issue
Your car was hit from behind at high speed while stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk, but the airbags failed to deploy during the crash. You and your passenger sustained multiple injuries including whiplash, contusions, concussion, and cardiac irregularities that required emergency room treatment and ongoing medical care. The airbag system may need to be inspected and replaced to determine why it didn't activate during this rear-end collision.

Electrical System, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your car has suddenly lost all power and stopped running multiple times over 6 weeks, including while driving in traffic, with no warning lights appearing. The battery has needed jumping at least 4 times in one week, but testing shows the battery itself is fine—Nissan suspects it may be the battery but isn't certain. This creates a serious safety hazard since the loss of power happens without warning and leaves you stranded.

Steering,power Train →1 issue
While driving straight at 40 mph, your front passenger wheel suddenly turned outward at a 45-degree angle, causing you to lose control of the car and hit a curb. The ball joint that connects the control arm had separated, which allowed the wheel to turn unexpectedly. This is a serious safety issue that requires immediate inspection and replacement of the failed suspension component.

Power Train,vehicle Speed Control,engine →1 issue
When you shift from reverse to drive, your car jerks and makes a loud grinding or struggling noise that you can feel as vibrations. This happens off and on during driving and makes it feel like the engine might stall. The problem started on Tuesday evening and is still happening as of Thursday.

Structure →1 issue
Your front splash guard has detached twice under normal driving conditions because the plastic fasteners and single screw holding it aren't strong enough to withstand water or wind. The first time happened when your wife drove through a puddle in heavy rain; the entire splash guard tore off and had to be towed in for repair. The dealership reattached it with the same weak plastic fasteners instead of replacing the damaged part, so it detached again—and a large 4x5 ft. piece of plastic flying off on the freeway is a serious safety hazard to you and other drivers. The fix will likely require replacing the splash guard with a new one and using stronger fastening hardware.

Wheels →1 issue
Your 2024 Nissan Sentra's tires became completely bald and unsafe at just 14,605 miles, despite regular local driving and scheduled tire rotations. The tires couldn't hold pressure above 27 PSI and were a road hazard—you couldn't safely drive to the dealership and had to replace all four tires at an independent shop for $890. The tires were under warranty, but the manufacturer is disputing the claim because you replaced them with different tires due to the urgent safety issue. Resolving this will likely require warranty claim documentation, tire inspection records, and proof of regular maintenance to support a refund request.

Tires →1 issue
Your rear tires are wearing down unusually fast — the tread became nearly bald by around 15,000 miles, even after you had them rotated. The same excessive wear happened again after rotation at about 20,000 miles on your original Hankook Kinergy GT tires. This premature wear suggests a potential alignment or suspension issue that's causing the tires to wear unevenly. You may need a wheel alignment check and new tires, as the original set appears defective.

Unknown Or Other, service Brakes →1 issue
Your 2024 Nissan Sentra is having trouble accelerating after coming to a complete stop. The dealership replaced the brake switch twice—once at 9,000 miles (by the previous owner) and again at 15,000 miles on your car. You're concerned this might be a recurring defect since the problem keeps happening after the "fix." The dealership may need to investigate whether the brake switch replacement is a permanent solution or if there's an underlying electrical issue causing repeated failures.

Power Train,electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your 2024 Nissan Sentra is displaying warning lights including "Check Engine" and "CVT Malfunction Service Now" messages while driving. You may experience jerking or hesitation when accelerating at stoplights, and the engine won't shut off when you shift into Park and press the Start/Stop button. The dealer has visited multiple times but initially found no problem; on a recent visit, they identified a faulty sensor that needs replacement and ordering. Fixing this will likely involve replacing the faulty sensor and clearing any related error codes from the vehicle's computer system.

Suspension,electrical System →1 issue
Your Bluetooth system frequently disconnects from your phone while you're listening to music. Additionally, after washing your car, you hear a loud rubbing sound coming from under the left side of the vehicle when you make sharp left turns. The Bluetooth issue may require a software update or reconnection troubleshooting, while the rubbing noise likely involves inspecting suspension components on the left side for water damage or loose parts.

Electrical System →1 issue
Your car's Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay connection keeps disconnecting and reconnecting while you're driving, even when your phone is plugged in via USB. This means you may lose access to hands-free calling, messaging, and navigation features intermittently during trips. The issue likely requires checking the USB port connection, updating your infotainment system software, or replacing the USB cable or port.
