MY CAR EVER NOW AND THEN MAKES NO POWER AFTER BREAKING . I HAVE TO TAKE CAR OUT OF GEAR STEP ON GAS PUT IT BACK IN GEAR TO DRIVE AGAIN ONLY HAPPEN EVER SO OFTEN . I THINK THERE IS A RECALL ON FREAK SWITCH .
FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE. FUEL TANK CAPACITY IS APPROXIMATELY 19 GALLONS. GAUGE ABRUPTLY CHANGES. SHOWS CLOSE TO FULL UNTIL 6 GALLONS IN TANK IS LEFT. THEN SHOWS HALF FULL. WHEN SHOWS ONE QUARTER FULL TANK ONLY HAS 2 GALLONS LEFT IN TANK. THIS OCCURS WHETHER DRIVING OR STATIONARY, LEVEL OR INCLINE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE QUICKLY RUNS LOW ON FUEL AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR PROPER REFUELING PLANNING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE REQUIRED A HIGH OCTANE FUEL. THE CONTACT SWITCHED TO USING THE CORRECT FUEL HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
I HAVE HAD ABOUT 5 INCIDENTS OF FAILURE WHEN I HIT THE GAS FROM A STAND STILL. WHEN I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL, I WILL ACCELERATE A LITTLE (ENOUGH TO GET IN TRAFFIC), THEN NOTHING. I LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PUT IT BACK DOWN. STILL NOTHING. IT IS A GOOD 4 SECONDS BEFORE I GET POWER TO GO. THIS HAS LED TO A COUPLE NEAR CRASHES, AS 4 SECONDS IS A LONG TIME IF YOU ARE PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. *TR
WHEN COASTING INTO A TURN THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR AROUND A CORNER AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE. YOU NEED TO PUMP THE PEDAL AND JUST WAIT FOR THE ACCELERATION TO KICK IN. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE PAST 5MPH. YOU NEED TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR FOR IT TO KICK BACK IN. THERE IS NO PATTERN TO WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN FOR DAYS AND THEN IT WILL HAPPEN 2-3 TIMES IN ONE DAY. THIS IS DANGEROUS ENTERING INTERSECTIONS. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER LAST WEEK AND I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFOR NOT FIX IT. IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES SINCE. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. *JS
ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS, THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOT ENGAGE WHEN DEPRESSED ? THE DRIVER HAS TO RELEASE AND PRESS THE GAS PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES OR HOLD DOWN GAS PEDAL AND THEN THE ENGINE REVS HARD AND THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHES FORWARD. IT HAPPENS BOTH WHEN BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AS WELL AS WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVING AND IN MOTION AND THE DRIVER PRESSES THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE (SUCH AS WHEN PASSING ANOTHER CAR ON THE HIGHWAY). BY EARLY APRIL 2014, THIS HAD HAPPENED AT LEAST 20 TIMES IN A FOUR-WEEK PERIOD AND SOMETIMES HAPPENED DAILY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALER, WHO CONSULTED WITH A REGIONAL NISSAN WARRANTY REP. HE SAID HE HAD SEEN THE PROBLEM BEFORE, AND THEY REPLACED THE THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH AND RELAY. I HAVE HAD ONE INCIDENT WHERE IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER THIS WORK WAS DONE ON APRIL 9. *TR
VEHICLE STARTS TO SHUDDER VERY HARD AND STARTS TO LOSE POWER WHEN STARTING TO ENTER THE TRAFFIC LANES I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER.THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES NOW .MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP. I HAD COMPLAINED TO TROPHY NISSAN, PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE, WELLS FARGO, AND PLATINUM COLLISION ABOUT THE VERY PROBLEM THAT I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL ABOUT. MY COMPLAINTS WERE TREATED AS NOT HAVING MERIT. I HAD SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED THE SEEMINGLY LOSS OF CONTROL ON PAVEMENT THAT WAS SLIGHTLY ROUGH. I ALSO ASSERTED THAT WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES THE PATHFINDER SEEMED TO LUNGE FORWARD. IN THIS ACCIDENT I WAS THE INTERSTATE NEAR DOWNTOWN DALLAS MOVING ONE LANE TO MY LEFT AS TRAFFIC SLOWED AND STOPPED. I WAS AWARE OF THE SLOWING TRAFFIC AND I REACTED ACCORDINGLY. AS TRAFFIC ACTUALLY STOPPED I RECALL NOT BEING OVERLY CONCERNED THAT I WAS A SAFE STOPPING DISTANCE BUT WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE MY PATHFINDER SEEMED TO LUNGE FORWARD AND I STRUCK THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I AGAIN STATED MY CONCERNS AFTER THE FACT AND WAS NOT DEEMED ACCURATE. THE PATHFINDER SPENT 2 MONTHS IN THE SHOP WAITING ON PARTS AND MY INSURANCE PREMIUM DOUBLED. I REFUSED TO PAY THE ELEVATED PREMIUM BECAUSE I SIMPLY DID NOT HAVE IT AND I DID NOT MAKE ANY PAYMENTS ON THE PATHFINDER TO WELLS FARGO DURING THE 2 MONTHS AND THE PATHFINDER HAS SUBSEQUENTLY BEEN REPOSSESSED DO I HAVE ACTIONABLE RECOURSE?? WHAT'S NEXT WITH THIS COMPLAINT?? I TRIED IN VAIN TO GET PROGRESSIVE TO RECOGNIZE A DIMINISHED VALUE CLAIM. THIS COULD HAVE SAVED ME MONEY AND MY CAR AS THE WRECK WAS TRULY NOT MY FAULT BUT IT WAS RULED MY FAULT BECAUSE I WAS THE REAR VEHICLE AND TEXAS HAS NO DIMINISHED VALUE FOR INSURED BEING AT FAULT. TRIED IN VAIN TO GET WELLS FARGO TO HELP ME BUT ALL PARTIES WERE SCARED TO DEATH OF PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PLATINUM COLLISION. THEIR ONLY STANDING IN THIS CASE IS AS THE BODY SHOP APPROVED BY PROGRESSIVE. *TR
I FOUND THIS VIDEO ON YOUTUBE, THIS THE SAME NOISE I FEEL WHEN IAM DRIVING MY 2013 PATHFINDER. I ALREADY TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAY IT NEEDED AND ADDED CVT FLUID CAUSE IT WAS LOW ON IT. IT SEEMS THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE CAUSE THE CVT JERKING AND THE LOST OF POWER WHEN DRIVING IS STILL THERE. ON JULY 10, 2013, WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER, I HEARD 'SOMETHING' RATTLE UNDER THE REAR OF THE TRUCK AND SAW 'SOMETHING BLACK' IN MY REAR-VIEW MIRROR FLY FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES LATER WHEN I STOPPED AT A LOCAL SAVEMART, STORE EMPLOYEES CALLED OVER THE PA SYSTEM FOR THE OWNER OF A NEW PATHFINDER BECAUSE FUEL WAS LEAKING 'ALL OVER THE PARKING LOT'. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED TO CLEAN UP THE HAZMAT AND DIRECT TRAFFIC AWAY FROM MY TRUCK. A FIREMAN AMAZED ME WHEN HE STATED THAT MY PATHFINDER HAS A UNSHIELDED PLASTIC FUEL TANK THAT'S HELD UP BY TWO STRAPS. HE ALSO STATED THAT IT APPEARED TO HIM THAT ONE BROKE, BOUNCED OFF THE ROAD AND PUNCTURED THE TANK. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENED AND I'LL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE MY TRUCK FIXED. I AM NOT TAKING WHAT THE FIREMAN SAID AS A MECHANICAL FACT, HOWEVER, THE NISSAN SERVICE REP KEPT TELLING ME THAT THE HOLE IN THE TANK WAS MADE BY A SMALL OBJECT THAT WAS OBVIOUSLY RUN OVER AND FORCED INTO THE TANK. I FIND HIS STATEMENT TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. IT IS REASONABLE TO ASSUME THAT A SMALL OBJECT, NO MATTER THE DENSITY, SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUNCTURE THE FUEL TANK... THAT'S WHY I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE. I FEEL THE TANK PROBABLY WON'T HOLD UP IN A CRASH AND IT'S A GOOD CHANCE IT WILL GET PUNCTURED AGAIN DURING THE LIFE OF OWNERSHIP WITH ME... I HOPE NISSAN WILL QUICKLY REALIZE THE NEED TO INITIATE A FACTORY RECALL TO REPLACE AND/OR INSTALL A SHIELD TO RENDER THE FUEL TANKS MORE PUNCTURE RESISTANT. THE NIGHT OF SATURDAY JANUARY 19TH, 2013, ONE MONTH AND A HALF AFTER I PURCHASED MY "NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER," IT WAS IT!!! I THOUGH THAT WE WERE PUTTING THE WRONG TYPE OF GAS IN IT, BUT NO!!! WE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS "RUNNING OUT OF GAS MOVEMENT" FROM A $40,000 VEHICLE WITH ONE OF THE BEST MARKETING PROMOTIONS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THE 21ST OF JANUARY, AND THE ONLY RESPONSE FROM GENERAL MANAGEMENT WAS " OH!... WE ARE SO SORRY, BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S GOING ON HERE...IT LOOKS LIKE A TRANSMISSION MODULE, BUT WAIT... NO, THAT'S NOT IT... WE ARE INCOMPETENT!!! SO... HERE I AM, PAYING FOR A LOAN WITH A BROKE BRAND NEW SUV IN THE SHOP WITH A SAFETY STALL HAZARD!... DID I FORGET TO MENTION THAT'S A FAMILY CAR!!!! *TR
