Your 2024 Altima's braking system was improperly assembled at the dealership, with mismatched rear brake pads and one pad installed upside down. This brake failure caused you to lose proper braking capability while driving, resulting in a collision. The problem wasn't caught during the initial purchase inspection or cosmetic repair visit, and only discovered months later at another dealership. The brake system will likely need complete inspection and replacement of the rear brake pads and rotors to ensure proper assembly.

Your car unexpectedly accelerated downhill and your brakes did not respond, causing it to crash into a hillside. This happened twice — once in a rented 2023 Sentra and again in your 2024 Altima — both times in the same location on a steep hill, suggesting a possible mechanical failure with the braking or engine control system. The fix will likely require a complete diagnostic inspection of your brake system and engine throttle controls to identify what's causing the unintended acceleration.
