Your car's brakes are applying suddenly and forcefully on their own while you're driving, including on highways, without any warning or input from you. This unexpected braking creates a serious risk of being rear-ended or losing control of the vehicle. Nissan dealerships have been unable to resolve the issue under warranty, and the problem has persisted for years, making the vehicle unsafe to operate.

Your door locks have stopped working automatically. The passenger rear lock failed first, followed by the driver's rear lock, and now both front locks won't lock or unlock when you use the buttons. This could be a serious safety issue if you need to quickly exit or enter your vehicle in an emergency. The problem likely involves the door lock actuators or the electrical module controlling them, and may require diagnosis and replacement of the faulty components.

Your key fob and electric door locks don't work, and you've had to replace the door actuators on multiple doors (rear passenger, rear driver's side, and driver's side). You mention this is a safety concern because you can't access your vehicle in an emergency. You've found that other 2021 Nissan Altima owners have reported the same issue. The repair is expensive and may involve replacing faulty door lock actuators or addressing the electrical control system.

You discovered a mileage discrepancy on your 2021 Nissan Altima after purchase. The odometer showed 35,189 miles when you bought it from the dealer, but when you went to register it, the actual mileage was found to be 65,543 miles. This suggests the odometer reading may have been tampered with or incorrectly displayed at the time of sale. You'll likely need to contact the dealer and potentially pursue legal action or request a refund based on odometer fraud.

Your forward collision avoidance system is malfunctioning. The owner's manual recommends checking the system, but you should have a dealer diagnose what's causing the problem. The fix may involve recalibrating sensors, updating software, or replacing faulty electrical components in the collision avoidance system.

Your car's rear door locks aren't responding to the key fob or interior buttons—you have to lock and unlock them manually every time. Additionally, your automatic emergency braking system warning light flashes randomly on the dashboard even when there's nothing in front of you or when road conditions are clear. Your dealership has identified that the body control module (BCM) needs to be replaced and reprogrammed to fix the door lock issue, and the forward collision avoidance system needs diagnostic service to address the false warning light.

Your rear crash warning light comes on when you're stopped at a traffic light or put the car in reverse even when nothing is behind you. You also get a wiper fluid warning that stays on even after you refill the reservoir. Additionally, you hear a clicking noise when driving at speeds over 50 mph. The dealership has been notified multiple times about these issues. Fixing this will likely require diagnostic testing of the rear sensor system, wiper fluid level sensor, and investigating the source of the clicking noise.

Your backup camera has become progressively darker over the past month and now displays glitches with lines, freezes, or goes completely black. You've researched and found that 2021 Nissan Altima backup cameras have been subject to recalls in the past, though your specific vehicle hasn't been included. Since this is a known model issue and affects your safety when backing up, you believe this should be recalled and repaired at no cost to you.

Your car's radio volume suddenly spikes to maximum level on its own, and you can't control it using the volume knob or turn the radio off—this has happened multiple times. The Nissan dealer diagnosed a failure in the audio/video control unit and says it needs to be replaced for about $2,000. When the volume blasts unexpectedly, you're distracted trying to shut it off while driving, creating a safety concern. The fix will involve replacing the faulty A/V control unit.

Based on comments from various post online, it is a common issue that the doors’ lock on altimas with no warning or reasoning just stop working. Whatever position the lock is in, is the one that the lock will stay on even if a safety feature that’s advertised and you expect is for the Altima to automatically lock up when you begin to drive. At this point my personal Altima has not been inspected or fixed by anyone, just a day to day experience of having to check my backseat before getting in to make sure no one is in the back of my car because the doors do not lock. It’s been since about February that the car doors locking mechanism will not engage on two of my car doors, even if you press the lock/unlock switch inside of the door, the lock/unlock button on the key fob, nor the button on the outside of the door handle.
3out of 4 door lock actuators went out .three of the doors can’t be locked from driver side and don’t automatically lock when the car is being driven.problem has been confirmed by an independent center.there were no prior warnings.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH in a rainstorm, the automatic emergency braking system warning light illuminated, however, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact continued to drive and noticed that once they cleared the rainstorm the warning light disengaged. The contact informed the dealer and was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA ID Number: 10207869 (Electrical System, Forward Collision Avoidance). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the rainstorm could have caused water to enter into the sensors for the automatic emergency brake to become defective. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
