Your brand-new Firestone spare tire separated in the middle with rubber pieces coming out, even though it had never been used. You discovered this dangerous defect only because someone was helping you change a flat tire and spotted the rubber coming apart. This could have caused a serious accident if the tire had been installed and driven on.
