highFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Filed: Jan 2026

Your car's automatic emergency braking system is engaging too aggressively and at inappropriate times. On the highway, it slammed on the brakes when traffic was slowing down, and while backing out of your driveway, it detected a car at a nearby stop sign on the opposite side of the road and braked hard enough to throw items around your car—creating a safety hazard with other drivers. The system applies brakes harshly without gradual easing, which could cause other vehicles to rear-end you or lead to dangerous situations like almost being T-boned. The fix will likely involve recalibrating or updating the forward collision warning and automatic braking sensor settings or software.
