Dealer will not remedy the recall of potential battery fire
My vehicle is waiting for a fix for Recall 24V720000 / 95B – It is totally unacceptable that Jeep has no time frame for a solution for this horrific safety issue however my vehicle is having another even more dangerous issue that Jeep refuses to acknowledge and I know I am not the only one with this serious defect. My vehicle (2023 4Xe with 5000 miles) losses acceleration power… This has happened at least 10x over the past 5 months. The check engine light often flashes on and off or stays on steady during this. When engaging the gas pedal at various speeds (30-65MPH) the gas fails to respond or output any power causing the vehicle to slowdown dramatically. SIGNIFICANT risk of being crashed into. It takes flooring the gas pedal and anywhere from it 10-25 seconds for the power to kick back in / engage and accelerate. I have been trying to get this fixed since August. One Jeep dealership (had my vehicle for 36 days) replicated the issue but got ‘no code’ therefore they could not fix. Since the 24V720000 / 95B was announced 2 months ago no Jeep dealership (I have contacted over 18) will even attempt to investigate or fix this issue as they claim its related to the battery recall 24V720000 / 95B. I urge you to investigate this loss of power before something catastrophic occurs.
Engine turns off completely in mid drive on highway. Unable to turn engine back on. Issue occurred on 7/31/24 after the vehicle was repaired and returned on the following Friday 08/09/24 engine turned off again in mid drive on the highway on 8/14/24. Me and my wife dodged a TWO near death experiences due to the engine failure occurring mid drive on the highway driving 70 mph during rush hour traffic. We barely had enough time to use the reserved power from the failed engine to move the vehicle immediately to the emergency lane. This vehicle has now turned into a safety hazard.
I just purchased this car on Monday. While driving it Tuesday it completely shut off on me.
Apparent temporary loss of motive power
The jeep will suddenly lose power while driving at highway speed and will lose all speed without any check engine lights or system notifications noted . The vehicle will not maintain speed and will suddenly accelerate after a minute of losing powe . This happens multiple times .The vehicle has been at the dealership and they are unsure of what the problem is .
I was driving on Highway when the dashboard prompted me to park and slow down. I lost power on the engine and have to pull over to the side to restart the engine. I have enough fuel but not EV battery left.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while entering the vehicle, the contact smelled an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was also taken to another dealer, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2.
I was driving down the highway around 60 miles an hour and the engine shut off. There was a flashing light on the dash telling me to safely put the car in Park. I had no acceleration and had to get across three lanes coasting until I could safely stop. A light also flashed showing a picture of the plug-in and said something about lack of performance. I cannot remember the exact wording. Once I got to the side of the road, I put the car in park and turned the car off, then turned it back on and was able to drive away. I did notice when I got to the side of the road that the D was flashing on my gearshift. i’ve called the dealership and I’ll be taking it in tomorrow, but they advised they haven’t had this situation before. But someone advise me about a recall on 2021 through 2023 4 xe’s but my vin number isn’t part of the recall. This happened during rush-hour traffic and I had my five year old son in the car. Needless to say we were both very scared. I am nervous to even drive it now.
While on the highway, vehicle engine simply went off without warning. Loss of power and ability to accelerate. Vehicle message indicated to turn off vehicle. Was able to safely pull the vehicle over and turn it off and back on. Brought vehicle to dealer to get checked out and they could "find no issues with the vehicle." Concerned with driving vehicle now as this could happen again.
The contact was an attorney who was filing a complaint on behalf of his client, who owned a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while his client was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The failure caused his client's vehicle to be rear-ended by another vehicle. No air bags were deployed upon impact. The contact's client was transported to the hospital for a brain bleed and neck and back injuries. The client suffered a recurring concussion. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer on three separate occasions because the vehicle failed to start. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V86500 (Engine) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

Jeep Wrangler 4xE car engine died for reason unknown while traveling at a steady speed of ~40mph. Dashboard and car lights remained powered on, but the engine suddenly became unresponsive and the car began to coast. An error message appeared on the dashboard display but disappeared before it could be written down. About 5 seconds prior to the engine dying the cruise control, which had been engaged a few minutes earlier, but which was not believed to be active at the time, was toggled. It was a very dangerous situation, but no injuries resulted from this event. Car dealer could not replicate the problem. No error messages found stored on the car computer were found by the dealer. The problem has not occurred again, but the car has not been driven much since the event. Cause of the problem remains unknown.
